So that’s why the parking lot is always empty… Slow bar service. Sat at an open spot and had 2 dirty napkins and a pile of peanut shells in front of me the entire hour I was there… The place is dirty. The clientele was trashy honestly. Old couple sucking on each others ears and yelling across the bar. People screaming out orders across the bar. Some dude sitting at the bar with his spit cup and beer changing the TV’s for himself, no matter that the Denver Nuggets were in a close game with 2 minutes to play… Employees or whatever walking behind the bar and pouring beers for themselves. Just an absolute free for all here! Oh and yes, those empty peanut shells were still sitting in front of me. I ordered the chicken tender basket to go. Have had it before and it was pretty good. Takes 25 mins. Nuggets lost btw, found out on twitter… lol. Watched one very visibly drunk customer leave and get into his car. Did I mention free for all? Finally my food shows up, pay my tab and take off. Much to my delight(not exactly), when I get home instead of chicken tenders, slaw and fries, I got parmesan garlic chicken wings with celery and carrots and no ranch. It’s a playground for the employees so it really didn’t surprise me. The wings weren’t bad but definitely not something I’d order again. With so many options in Ft Collins, this place has become an after thought. Hope the owners have some deep pockets cause the future isn’t exactly bright. Get it together cause FoCo desperately needs more sports bars!

Place is empty on a Saturday night. The beer takes forever. The beer was served warm. All of the prices start at $ 12.99. This place is just a tourist trap for the hotels next door.

Went in for a quick beer to watch the end of the Denver/NE game after checking in at the homewood suites at around 8:40pm. I was informed by the bartender that they were closed and wouldn’t serve me. Maybe update your hours? First time, last time. What a joke.

Went in with husband for an easy and laid back dinner only to decide after never to go back. Messed up my order, and waitress should have noticed, she lied about my cocktail being ready when it obviously wasn’t, waited way too long for everything, then she tried adding fries to my order, when i specifically ordered a dinner without fries. She got pissed because I was upset about the terrible service, then when I tried to pay, she ran the card wrong, and repeatedly, forcing the bank to place my account on hold as the place ran it 4 times. Ended up paying with credit card with bank working to reverse all charges. Never going back.

Pretty decent food– large portions and a good bar/patio area but for the love of my hard earned $$$ the service SUCKS! Every time we come here the waitstaff is terrible. friendly but just terrible! Either add staff or train them better please!

My friend and I went here last night and sat at the bar. Waited at least ten minutes to be noticed. We ordered two beers and asked for menus also. The beer came pretty quickly but had to wait thirty minutes to just get the menus. Placed an order for an appetizer. Waited another half hour for that. In that half hour wait we ordered a couple burgers. We started talking to some pretty cool guys next to me and lost track of time during all this. So once they left after a couple hours. We asked were our burgers were. The bartender said the kitchen was backed up. That’s when we left and ordered a pizza at home. The food is pretty good here if you can get it. The service has been bad the last couple times. I won’t be back.

Attempted to eat here yesterday 03.08.15. We waited 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The girl that took our drink order seemed annoyed that we were ready to also put in a food order, after huffing and puffing she finally took our order. After our order was taken we waited another 10 minutes and still were not given our beers, offered water or even acknowledged at all. We were two out of probably 15 people in the entire restaurant, all of which also were not being helped. We saw other people from other tables walking up to the bar trying to get the attention of the bartenders, and one of the female bartenders verbatim said«if you don’t like it you can go somewhere else». About 10 of us walked out of the restaurant at the same time and headed to Ryan’s just down the street. Wow. did that place have their stuff together! Not only did we get acknowledged and have our food and drink order taken immediately at Ryan’s, we were also respected and treated like they wanted us to be there! Glad to spend my $ 50 at a well established and professional restaurant! …Sanfords on the other hand is a joke. Unless you want to sit and wait around all afternoon for absolutely nothing to be brought or served to you, do yourself a favor and GOSOMEWHERE else.

I have mixed feelings when we first got there we were just standing there till a waitress came up to us and said oh um don’t know where hostess is… I’ll just seat you like it was a big deal for her or something mind you the place was emptyyyy so we sat down and asked what beers were for happy hour she looked at us like she didn’t understand and I had to explain to her it was our first time there so we didn’t know how stuffed work she still looked at us like we were crazy I just ordered a Stella(which was 5 bucks when she told me it would be 2 bucks but whatever) and my husband ordered whatever he ordered now we were on to food I asked her what was popular and she said everything lol so I started asking about different things and she truly didn’t know how to answer me I felt like something on the«lighter side» and got the Portobello mushroom burger! That’s where the stars come in it was amazingggggg and my husband loved what he got to portions were great size too! I’d definitely go back for food but it might be time for them to have a staff coach come in most of the lower reviews are because of staff not food …

I was working a bit late on a Saturday night, and I was HUNGRY. Oh, hey, here’s Sanfords. Right next to my work! How convenient! Always wanted to try the place. I walked in around 10:00 pm. No customers. Employees were out on the patio hanging out, laughing it up, and smoking cigarettes. I stood at the bar for fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes. The entire time, not one employee bothered to check to see if anyone was there. I had a long, hard day and all I wanted was some bar food and a beer. I have worked in the restaurant industry off and on for almost my entire adult life. Waiting fifteen minutes for someone to greet me is unacceptable.

Since its reopened we have tried it out a couple times. Before they reopened we would have a group of 6 guys to watch football on Saturdays and Sunday’s. Since its reopened they have cut the nfl ticket and free wifi. Food is the same as it always was. An un edible deep fried hot mess. Walked in today to have a beer since its been so long and still no Sunday ticket. Used to be a packed bar. I saw three people in the entire place including the bartender. I can’t see this place lasting here much longer for what it provides. If it’s not a sports bar which it was to our group and it can’t even pretend to be a place with food that you would return to eat a second time then what is it?

I got wings and a couple Oktoberfests. I’m a Memphis guy so I didn’t even dare try the BBQ or Cajun food. It can’t be good all the way out here, right? Anyways, the wings were fine. It is pretty difficult to screw up wings unless you don’t cook them. They could’ve been crunchier, but I may be in the minority on that. The beers were great as usual. Serving them in mason jars is a pretty solid Southern style tactic. I liked that. The service was eh. When I could get the bartenders attention she was great, but she seemed to be a little more interested in talking to a waitress in the corner. I can’t totally blame her though. It wasn’t like the place was slammed. Anyways, pretty cool atmosphere and an easy walk from a lot of the hotels in the area. I wouldn’t mind re-visiting, but I doubt I’ll ever be in Fort Collins again.

This little place has a pretty good vibe to it. And $.50 wings Monday’s, Thursday’s and Sunday’s. Great idea but poor execution. I have always maintained that you can identify a good breakfast place place by its biscuits and gravy and and in turn you can test a good Bar and Grill by its Buffalo Wings. The wings here rival most anywhere in flavor but they were COLD to the touch. I don’t mean they were tepid… They were actually cold. WTF? What a disappointment… cold effing wings. How difficult is it to at least fake it and put the damn wings in the microwave?! I suspect the cook was so stoned he couldn’t be bothered. My server was very sweet but should have insisted upon correcting the situation. She did not.

Diamond in the rough! This place is very cool with ice cold $ 2 bud lights on tap and a ton of food. I would say this could be a very viable option on Saturdays and Sunday’s for football IF it had a few more TVs. I would go back to this place because it’s cheap, good, and the staff is very accommodating. It’s off the beaten path but worth a stop in for a beer. The only thing I would change is the target age. I’m 27 years old and was by far the youngest guy there. The average age here was guessing 50+. They need to market towards younger crowds with more TVs and hourly beer specials on game day!

Love this place! Five of us went in about 7:00 on Saturday night and found great seats in the bar area. Wait staff greeted us promptly, and was very friendly and attentive all evening. The food was great, steaks and mac and cheese! We were very impressed with the variety of food on the menu, and the ambiance was perfect! We are definitely going back!

First time here, last time here! Disappointing to say the least. Saw sign from the road for brunch buffet, so I thought I’d check it out. The hostess didn’t even knew about the special or if it was still going on. So sat at the bar so I could watch football, and they only have one game on, and tennis and a college football throwback game on other TVs. WTH?! You advertise NFL Sunday ticket, and then don’t have football on?!! So I ask the bartender to put another game on and she says this is the only game on. As I’m sitting there looking at the display for Sunday ticket. I eventually ask someone else, who puts a second game on. I then get the brunch buffet and the food is mediocre to put it nicely. Crap service, passable food, and oh they charged $ 17.99 for that stupid buffet! What a joke!

As a follow-up to some of the reviews I’ve read(especially Jennifer’s), I couldn’t disagree more. I use to go to Sanfords under previous mgmt, and the place was good. I again go a few times/wk while under new mgmt, & the place is far better and simply OUTSTANDING! The quality of food is exceptional, and the service is solid. The staff is very friendly. Im a very picky customer, & Sanfords exceeds my expectations in ALL areas(do need to fix the hi-speed internet tho:) I’m sorry Jennifer, but the restaurant you described isn’t the one I go to 3 or so times/wk(and no, I’m not affiliated with Sanfords:)

Went on a Friday night. They were busy but not slammed. Sat in the bar area. Things started out ok-waiter came to our table and brought us drinks and the service went downhill from there. Our appetizers arrived at our table after a bit of a wait. They were barely warm and very greasy. We waited 45 minutes for 3 burgers in that time no one communicated with us about the status of our food so we asked to have it boxed. The waiter copped a horrible attitude with us and we waited another 15 minutes for our to go and our check. On our way out I let the waitress who seemed to have it together know how disappointed I was with my service and when the hostess asked how everything was I let her know. The waiter proceeded to FOLLOW me OUT the door and engage me in an unpleasant manner. When my party asked to speak to a manger he said he was the manger and started to raise his voice. When I said I would never dine there again he informed me that he didn’t need me as a customer. Fail fail fail!!!

This place is brim-full of memorabilia, etc., as others have noted. This is not an all bad thing, since it gives you plenty to peruse if you are here for a game(which I assume is one of the reasons that most people stop in this sports bar and grill). There are plenty of TVs and good people watching as well, so there should be something for everyone in a group. The other reason, the MAIN reason, I would assume is the super, super affordable beer menu. They tout their $ 1 draws and they are not kidding; not only are domestics cheap, but most local craft beers are only $ 2 for a pint(this was not happy hour, or anything, just regular price). The food was ok, we sampled wings, onion rings, and cheeseburgers. All were standard, but I would steer clear of the«Freddies” – these are huge slabs of potato that have a crumb breading and are fried. Very little seasoning or appeal, but after the cheap beers, maybe the potato is needed to soak up the suds. My advice? Stop in for a beer or two, and maybe hit up the half price apps for happy hour, but plan dinner elsewhere.

Sanford’s atmosphere seems to be shoved with memorabilia from various decades of the past century. There are advertisement signs from the 40’s all the way to the 80’s. Carousel horses, giant, plastic dinosaurs also are planted on the scene. The food wasn’t too bad. I got a Taco Salad which was good and they had a fine assortment of Colorado beers on tap. I got Momma’s Little Yella Pils from Oskar Blues. Everything was fresh which was also a score. Sanford’s doesn’t have any other Colorado locations to my knowledge. There are other locations in Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana but not all of the locations have the Sanford name. All of this is listed on the menu.
