We had a relaxing nice time sitting outside. The service was slow considering the place was not busy at all. We will definitely go back for another try.

I’m a kayaker and I used to come here every Sunday and tie up at the dock. Sweet bar. Live music occasionally. DANNY at the bar was great. Love the souvenir glasses. Love the ring-toss! I stopped coming when I had a bad experience: I cut my legs on barnacles climbing up the ladder to the dock, and the hostess wouldn’t let me inside the restaurant to clean my cuts in the bathroom. It really hurt my feelings that the staff would look down on me and not let me inside(to clean the wounds I got on *their* dock) just because I was wearing a bathing suit and a tee shirt and maybe not«appropriate attire» for indoors. What a snob. I hear they’re closed. Good! I hope they re-open under new, less pretentious management.

The waitstaff was attentive and polite. The waiter did a good job servicing a table of 12+ for the most part. Drinks here kept full. he was attentive. Food runners delivered the wrong dishes to the wrong people. BUT, the food… we had our hopes up after the bimini bread and the roasted beet salad(which were both pretty good). I ordered the Abaco Mahi Mahi the veggies were over cooked and the whole dish was swimming in some sort or oil or butter. I did not finish the mediocre portion. My GF ordered the yellowtail snapper special. The fish was not the light and fresh and sweet taste you would expect from yellowtail and again swimming in oil or butter. My nephew who was with us had a burger. It was charred(burnt) on the outside and too rare int he middle. Not something you should serve to a kid. he ate the bun and the tomato. The server should have noticed as the meat was left on the plate. We both had a bit of indigestion for the rest of the evening and spent«quality-time in the restroom» last night and today. I did phone the manager to let him know. He was polite, apologized, said that the chef had just arrived and that he would speak with him but, offered no real resolution. I would not recommend this establishment. :(

This place it was more than I expected. The restaurant in and out space for eating is quite big. Tim the outside bar bartender is nice and funny. The food was good and well price for a waterfront restaurant. Happy hour is everyday from 4 – 7 and they offer live entertainment after 7:00pm. Great family or romantic place. You could arrive by boat or car your choice.

This place was very pretty inside right by the water. We came in with a table of 3 and we ordered the free Unilocal offer breed it had a key lime butter it was good. We all ordered the fish tacos which were good they came with plantation chips which I could have done without over all it was pretty good. Only thing I could complain about is the acoustics in the place is horrible and way to Loud if you wanted to have a nice quiet meal you couldn’t but other than that it was great.

By far the worst dining experience I have had since I have been in Fort Lauderdale. I would have given 0 stars for food however the 2 stars is for our server because she was very friendly and upbeat. I ordered the baked crab stuffed shrimp«one of my favorite dishes typically» which was one of the specials they had for the evening. What I got was nothing in the realm of baked stuffed shrimp it was more like rubberized charred shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were lying on their side«not butterflied» and there were these tiny white flakes of crab meat sprinkled on the top, realistically probably a teaspoon of crab meat and the shrimp were so over cooked and rubbery that I literally had to pick it up with my hands to eat it because cutting it was not working . Honestly I don’t understand how a chef allows that to leave the kitchen and how management allows it as well. I was expecting to see 3 colossal tender shrimp butterflied with a crab stuffing and this was not even remotely close to that. The 3 other people at the table that had the dish said the same thing«this is not baked stuffed shrimp» and what is mind blowing is the fact that the dish was $ 25??? Craziness! The best thing on the plate was the asparagus because the rice was bland rice that seemed to come from a box. This is definitely a tourist trap being that it’s right next to the hotels cause it is waaay over priced and food just blah. I would go back for Happy hour drinks and sit outside for the view but as far as eating NEVERAGAIN!

Nice looking place — too bad the food didn’t match the ambience. Steak was dry, unseasoned and overcooked with an accompaniment that has no flavor as well. My wife had Mahi tacos, which were overcooked and had a bland taste. Not worth the $ 60 lunch.

While we were excited to try this place this evening, but were quickly disappointed by the terrible service. From the beginning, we were met with an inattentive server, who allowed our drinks to remain empty. When refills were brought, some were diet and some were regular. However, our order was taken fairly quickly and our salad/soup course arrived in a timely fashion, so we could overlook the drinks for a while. When we contined to wait more than an hour for our main course, we lost our patience. The waitress would appear periodically to apologize and say the kitchen was ‘backed up,’ however seeing all of the tables around us– who were seated after we had arrived– were well into(if not finished) with their entrees, the hunger rage started to set in. Clearly our order had not been put in, if subsequent tables were receiving their entrees more than half an hour faster than ours. Let me clarify that I ordered a salad and my husband ordered the evening’s special– not something that should have taken a fraction of that time. We requested to speak with the manager, who took another 20 minutes to stop by and see us with a halfhearted apology. Having worked in a restaurant in the past, I know how the process works, and know that we’d been overlooked– just own up to it. Saying the kitchen was backed up because of a large party doesn’t really cut it. It’s a pity, because the food was good– my husband’s chicken was well prepared and my shrimp(although there were only 4 on an entrée salad,) were tasty. Unfortunately, by the time they had arriveed(a full hour after my soup and his salad,) we really weren’t hungry any longer. The bread is also worth recommending. Just be sure to pack your patience if you plan on coming here.

The service was great! Could ask for a nicer wait staff. The food… well this could possibly be the blandest food I’ve ever had!!! I ordered the blackened Grouper and my girlfriend got the blackened mahi mahi. Both had absolutely no taste!!! They looked great, no nothing to taste outside the saltiness of whatever crappy rub they used. And the house special Bimini bread sucked too.

For years I’ve been coming to Bimini in hopes of one day getting an above mediocre meal. Still hasn’t happened. I don’t know how fast the chef turnover is but it seems as though they can’t get their act together. I ordered a cob salad which came out looking like it had sat on the ledge for an hour. Wilted and tasteless. My girlfriend ordered the ahi tuna salad. It came out looking absolutely horrible and less than edible. A handful of spinach leaves topped with pre sliced then overly seared tuna. I made her return it for something else. The server seemed peeved by our issues with the food but thankfully replaced the ahi salad. I would recommend this place for the outside happy hour but with there being so many other spots in such close proximity, go elsewhere.

This place is a little over priced. Fish starting at 18 $. Only thing that was normal priced was salads around 13 $ and even there swordfish and grouper which were 20 $, and possibly some of the appetizers. When we came in the scenery is beautiful, and outside is very quiet. Are waiter was great, kept up with our drinks anytime we were getting low and was very informative of everything. We order the Bimini bread, even though it should have been included. Which was average. I would prefer outdoor world. Then out comes our food with 2⁄3 of our plates came out wrong. One was just a small mistake that we ignored(just the wrong side) and then my mothers fish came out cooked grilled instead if blackened. Not a big deal yet, she was going to try and eat it anyway but she tried her friends blk swordfish vs her grilled and she loved it. So I told her let him know to change it. I’m sorry but if we’re paying to go out and spend 20 $ on a small fish, I told her it should be the way she wanted. Thinking it would be «on the fly» and come out quick you know? We’re all waiting and eating slow, 20 minutes go by and it finally comes out! It should have been first priority. The bacon wrapped scallops come with four. Delicious, by 38 $? Ehhh they should offer it as an appetizer. What was supposed to be servers underneath the scallops didn’t even make it out until the server had to check. I mean shame on the runner I assume? Should everything be double checked. Anyway bill comes out and it was 104 $ for 3 people. Okay we expected this, but our food was all over the place. We would have thought they would have done something considering two out if three if us were new, maybe to try to give an incentive to come back to try there food again. No, our friend commented our experience and how she thought the fish would have been takes off. The response«usually if you eat it, you have to pay for it» Well. We were starving when we got there, of course my mom was going to be starving 45 minutes later. Anyway 20% off which was fine. And left much more happy. None I believe is the servers fault either, because he was very nice, and understanding. So, We may come back and give it another try some day.

I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could… Really enjoyed our dinner here. Was within walking distance of our hotel which was super convenient. Called ahead for a reservation and not many times were available, but when we arrived we were seated quickly outside. Loved being able to sit on the water and watch the boats go by. Started with the Calamari which was really good. Really loved the sauce that goes with it. I then ordered the Abaco Mahi Mahi which was really delicious. I ate the whole thing and enjoyed every bite of it. The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted really fresh. My husband got the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and was left pretty disappointed. He felt like they were a generic frozen crab cake and for $ 25 expected way more. We were bummed that I had such a delicious meal and his was lackluster. Ended the meal with a layered chocolate cake and holy crap was this piece of cake huge. You could easily split the thing between 4 people. We were only told the desserts and not given a menu and wish we would have been given a menu. I wouldn’t have paid the $ 12 for a piece of cake. Yes it was huge, but come on — a $ 12 dessert? We were expecting a normal sized piece of cake and a normal size price tag to go with it. We paid more for the dessert than we did our appetizer. If we were in town again, we would probably try it out again — just order a little differently.

I can’t speak for the dining room however we have come here for happy hour a few times on our vacation. The happy hour is until 8 and the well drinks which are actually really decent alcohols are $ 4. We had apps for $ 6 each — sweet and spicy calamari(which we were able to request just rings instead of having tentacles too), mustard sauce beef skewers(we ordered 2 actually it came with homemade potato chips! Delicious!) and the crab stuffed shrimp which was really good the asparagus was a little thick for my liking but the shrimp was great! This place is perfect for happy hour! Perfect! Outside on the water nice vibe great views. Our bartender Amy was great! This is our second trip to ft Lauderdale in a year and we came here now both trips already. Summary — go here for happy hour :)

If you seat outside it’s very pleasant: casual but quiet… rare in Fort Lauderdale! We went for the first time inside few days ago and we were disappointed: 1) it was really noisy, 2) they could not find our reservation, 3) we forgot our credit card that they say the day after they did not have it… Anyway, will go back because we like the food and the quiet terrace on the canal.

Having passed by a few times, I always thought this was a typical restaurant located at the end of a large parking lot. I had no idea it was actually on the water until we ventured in with my husband’s cousin recently. What a surprise! Seated outside along the water, we were able to enjoy a wonderful«Florida» ambiance on a sunny but cool January day. The setting added to the whole experience of just chllin for a couple of hours, beverage in hand, under a sun umbrella, eating a healthy salad. I opted for the Tuna Sashimi Salad but substituted the California baby greens for romaine. All in the all, the salad was good, but they did skimp a bit on the tuna, given the meal was priced at $ 15. My husband LOVED his fish tacos and I was sorry I didn’t sneak a bite since it looked so good. One thing to note is that the menu stated the tacos came with cabbage, but in reality, it was just lettuce. Using cabbage instead of lettuce on a fish taco makes a HUGE difference in not only texture but flavor as well. This was a miss, but nothing my husband felt compelled to mention. I’d go back again in a heartbeat and consider this a great spot for out-of-town guests who want to experience Florida in a nice, clean environment, but away from the masses on A1A.

Busy happy hour! With cheap well drinks and a mix of tourists and regulars, Bimini is worth a shot. Especially if you’re in the area for more than one night. My blackened«yellowtail snapper»(their name) was spiced nicely, but a bit dry(overcooked). Garlic mashed were a touch bland. The tuna sashimi salad was good and even a bit creative. We thought it would be more of a «salad,» but it really was a fine plate of sashimi with bountiful garnish including avocado. Their special bread is really too sweet to be an appetizer. And the honey and glaze were crystallizing which added an unpleasant grittiness. All in all, Bimini is a nice place with lots of hardworking people presenting a decent meal at tourist prices.

Restaurant located right on the water. There was a weird smell upon approaching the restaurant. Not sure if it was the river or not. The restaurant was decked out in nautical décor– but in a classy way and not overwhelming. Went with a large party. Our waitress was wonderful. Tried to order a split of Prosecco but they didn’t have it. :(. Tried several appetizers. The World famous Bimini bread was delicious– not overly sweet. Bahamian conch fritters were delectable. Also ordered an app, ate as meal: shrimp flatbread. The Shrimp flatbread was creamier than expected– there was a cream sauce. Still very tasty. Overall great experience at this restaurant. Service, décor, food all up to par. Versatile and good for date or group of friends.

To be honest this place is more convenient than anything. With it being close to hotels and near the airport it attracts many visitors. The outdoor seating is accompanied by a canal and yacht dock. It is very pretty and perfect for families. However from my personal experience the staff was not very friendly and my entrée was mediocre at best. I had the mahi mahi entrée and it was a very small portion yet largely over priced.

We had a great family lunch. The ribs were good, the grouper with the jerk sauce was very good and the service was very good. The real appeal is the location where you can sit outside and watch the boats going up the canal. The downside is the cost. It’s pricey.

Bimini Boatyard has been around since I was a very young chick! It’s a Ft. Lauderdale staple. It offers amazing views and if the weather permits go sit outside. I’ve been to their Sunday brunch a couple of times & thoroughly enjoyed it. I went just recently for a business lunch and was astonished at a) how few people were inside and b) how expensive it was! Fish dishes for lunch, started at $ 18 but went all the way up to $ 30. Now it’s a nice location, but this is no Capital Grille and to be honest Capt’l Grille is even more affordable. Their Bimini Bread is $ 4 to start out with as well… I almost feel they should give this to you for free with the prices they are charging. We shared a crab dip appetizer(and added more salt to the chips) and ordered 2 sandwiches for our meals… which came with MORE chips(but they were difft chips). I was WAY chipped out by the end of it, to say the least. I really prefer french fries or a salad, chips don’t really do it for me. The one thing I did notice is they have Happy Hour until 8 pm! So, I’m going to try this out next and see how it is in the evenings.
