What no review for the Dubliner? The location of one of the greatest Unilocal events to date? I have been to this establishment a couple of times, and each has been better than the last. On my first visit, there were some kids from a music school blaring away– which got me to sit outside. There is one booth right by the door which makes it seem like you’re someone quite special(which of course you are!) — and you can people watch– which there is plenty to see during the afternoon. I had never seen a traveling beer station before in my life. What is this? A bicycle that holds about 10+ people and you ride while drinking beer? Didn’t try it, but I sure did want to.(I was waiting for my food). Saw a couple of people jump on an jump off, it is definitely something that I will give a go one of these days. The service was fantastic. The server was in full spirits, served us right away. Gave some great suggestions, and the food was out in no time. Of course we had some Irish beers to go with our meals, and the entire experience was a hit. The following times we went, it was the same, just without the blaring of kids trying to sing and play music. I mean hats off to them — but not necessarily something that I wanted to listen to unless it was my own kid, and then again who knows. The scene is very laid back– you can just stop in for a drink, or for the whole shabang. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the mac and cheese.

Well we came here craving Fish & Chips after reading some good reviews. We typically frequent this area for the 5 $ Burgers at Tarpon Bend but never noticed this spot. To start the first thing I noticed was how empty it was, at least in the main seating area. That normally worries me when I don’t see anyone during peak times. Anyhow we were greeted promptly and the waitresses were all friendly and courteous. The place is a lot bigger than I though with an upstairs«library». We started off with the Potato & Leeks soup which was good! For our main course we decided to share dishes so I ordered the Lamb Burger and she ordered the Fish & Chips, but those plans were quickly altered when they informed us that they were out of the fish. How exactly that happens, I’m not sure but we took it in stride and ordered their Short Rib Mac & Cheese(AMAZING). I really didn’t care for my Lamb Burger, it was my first time trying it and most likely my last. I didn’t like the texture, the taste, the cheese or the BBQ sauce. I did however like the fresh cut fries. I ended up pushing the burger to the end of the table and focusing on the Mac & Cheese. I do plan on returning for the fish & chips and perhaps some dessert which by the way all have some form of alcoholic ingredient. Overall not bad

I absolutely love this place! I never had Shepherd’s pie made better than this & omg the Mac & cheese is to die for! I drove way to Las Olas from Coral Springs because I needed the Mac & cheese fix. It gets 5 stars alone. Oh & the service here is great too :) Sunny

Yes, I am a fan… I’ve been past here several times and yes it’s been on my «Wishlist» along with a new Big Wheel… and yes today was the day! Right after the Fort Lauderdale St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival wrapped up we made a beeline here expecting to wait in line but alas I was surprised as 4 of us were seated immediately. Low lights and dark paneling abound, my idea of a pub, I smiled as I was seated. There was a two man acoustic group playing cover tunes that added to the ambiance. ‘Actually I take that back, these guys were good. No beer since I was piloting the sled today… We started with Honey Baked Brie’, simple bread, apples and a raspberry compote. The table order consisted of(2) Corned Beef on Ryes(of course)(1) Fish-N-Chips and(1) Chicken Sandwich… I can only speak of the Corned Beef on Rye, and it was delicious, there was some sort of a pickled onion relish on top that added a nice twist to the sandwich. As far as the other three, we only took one doggie bag home, so I’m saying the meal was a success. I was glad to knock this off the«Wishlist» and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint.

Went for dinner. Sat down and waiter came by for a drink order. After 15 minutes our beers arrived. We ordered 2 appetizers and an entrée. The entrée came out within 10 min. We said we wanted our appetizers first. Waiter said it wasn’t ours anyway. When we finally received the entrée. It was the same one. Just sat under the heat lamp. It was cold and the sauce was breaking. AWFUL!!!#

While waiting for our table at another restaurant we decided to grab a drink somewhere close while we waited. Dubliner was right next door. I had to look up at the name again as I knew this as Side Bar. Funny thing is that, with as many times I had been to Side Bar before, I didn’t know there was a second floor to it, and the only way we found out was because the downstairs bar was too busy, and one of girls that works there told us to try the bar upstairs. Glad we did. Upstairs has a more quiet, somewhat romantic feel to it. A little balcony with mood lighted tables, board games, etc. The bar served exactly the same as downstairs, fully stocked with whatever you want. Good thing is that since it wasn’t as busy, we were able to order quickly and without having to make our way through all the people. I wanted something different than my usual Rum drink, and when I saw the Dewar’s bottle I went with a Whiskey Sour. The lady behind the counter poured generously and when she charged me, it was only $ 5. I think she saw my surprise, and she followed to show me that it was Whiskey Wednesday. All Whiskey drinks or shots are $ 5. Good to know! Wonder what other specials they might have… guess I have to go back! We got our drinks and made our way back downstairs where it was more lively, louder music, more people and more of the atmosphere we were looking for that night. They serve food too(their Mac & Cheese is creamy and delicious), and turns into more of a party place as the night gets«older». Some nights they even have live music… I got to see a pretty good Blues band here on a Sunday. Great place to go with a group of friends, or a date, with lots to choose from and great service.

Now this is more my scene. A pub with a good live band playing rockabilly and other 50s-type music, including a double bass(I hope this is the correct instrument!), a jamming electric guitar, and a Stan Lee look-alike(according to Valberta G.!). I did not have any of the food, but I liked the more mellowed out scene here, including some bikers, casually dressed folks, and polite patrons, one of which picked up my purse and handed it to me when the waitress knocked it off my chair. Very much appreciated. The fact that they have live bands, attentive service and Oscar Wilde portraits(I’m a big fan of his), makes this place awesome to me. Plus, the bathrooms were clean! I’d like to come hang out with some friends, kick back and enjoy the music. I hope that as I meet more Unilocalers in the Broward area, that this may actually become possible.

The more I saw of this neighborhood, the more I loved it. We met up with a couple friends for a drink before dinner and caught a live show on stage that was killing it. The overall vibe was lively with great music, people dancing and having a good time. We ordered a couple beers and a gin and tonic for me. We had a good time and enjoyed hanging out there for the show.

Unilocal’s Bursting Mac n Cheese. WOW. Just get it while you can! Definitely the highlight of the meal. Even our server kept raving about it. That was only our appetizer, though. Mark A. & I shared a lamb burger and the fish ‘n chips. After my half of the fish ‘n chips, I was already stuffed. They’re pretty generous with the portions. Two fairly large batter fried fish. Their«chips» are potato wedges. Decent, but not my fave. I only took a bite of the lamb burger, but I just remember wishing I had more room in my stomach for it. Despite our full stomachs, we always have room for dessert. So we went with the tiramisu. Delicious! Perfect dessert for us to share after a full dinner because it’s light and tasty, not too big, not too small. Great and friendly service. Live band to fill up the sound. We really had a great night.

Order the Unilocal!Really. Just do it. The truffled mac & cheese is really scrumptious. Unilocal has definitely created a nice dish to have ordered at the Dubliner. It was really why Acelyn B & I chose this place as a double date spot to hang out. I could’ve been happy with it as my meal. However, we chose to eat more. Between the two of us, the lamb burger & the fish ‘n chips were ordered. Both really delicious. We finished our meal with the tiramisu. YUM! Service was fantastic. The environment was really chill. There was a live band jamming out on the other side of the venue. It’s separated nicely as I was able to selectively listen to the music & still attend to table conversations. & no need to yell in order just to hear each other. As I write, I can’t help but think«I want that mac & cheese!» Hurry before it goes!

I’ve been to Dublin, Ireland and first-hand experienced the quality of the good food and the amiable people. Visiting the Dubliner made me nostalgic :) I went to the Dubliner with my hubby and some friends who suggested we go to try the Mac and cheese. Let’s start with the burger. I ordered it medium-well, and I received it just like that. It was perfect, fresh and delicious. Went down very nice with the Floridian beer. Then the Mac and cheese with bacon. I couldn’t get enough! Also the potato pancakes and the sausage: total Foodgasm. I can’t wait to get back there. Note of advice: make sure you get there hungry because you will want to try everything! Mmm mm good :)

Stopped in for lunch during a bike ride. Very slow on Saturday for lunch. We started with the cheese fondue. It is served with veggies, apples, & pretzels. I had the goat cheese salad with beets. It is served with no dressing but the marinated slaw on top gave it flavor. The salad is quality and dark green. No ice berg here.

Awesome food, great friendly service, cool atmosphere, fair prices, great beers on tap, free pint with Unilocal check-in…what’s not to love here? Just about everything we ordered was great: –Fish n Chips($ 14) — perfectly fried Haddock with delicious seasoned fries –Coconut Curry Mussels($ 11) — come in a clay pot thingy. Awesome flavors. –Beets & Goat Cheese salad($ 11) — would have preferred it all mixed together. Goat cheese came in the form of 2 fried fritters. Still very delicious, and came with red & golden beets –Potato Leek Soup($ 5) — YUM –Apple Crisp w/Vanilla ice cream & caramel — Fantastic Dubliner knocked it out of the park! Go here! (Note for my St Louis friends — this is the Dubliner in Ft Lauderdale, FL I wish this place was in STL!)

I was so pleasantly surprised with this place! I was in the area for a concert at Revolution Live and stopped in for a drink before the show. There was a guy singing various cover songs and I was pretty impressed. We figured it would be a good idea to eat something before the show to offset the drinks. I didn’t have high expectations since this is primarily a bar but my expectations were beyond exceeded. I ordered the Mini McMac & Cheese(with a hint of Guinness) and it was delicious! So creamy and cheesy… it was the perfect choice! My friend ordered a cheeseburger and also loved it. The service was also great. We weren’t just handed our utensils along with our dinner(which usually happens when you order food at the bar). Once we ordered, the bartender set up some place mats for us and organized our utensils. It was a small gesture but it showed their attention to detail. I wish it wasn’t so far from where I live. I’d visit more frequently. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check it out.

A nice, well lit, CLEAN bar in Downtown Fort Lauderdale? YES, I am a fan. Came in after a Unilocal event at the Festival of Souls a couple blocks away. We were looking to have a few drinks and some grub. They did not disappoint. Jesse V ordered a delicious honey baked brie that came with apples and a raspberry jelly. Brie cheese platter at a pub?! YES! DOIT! I promise you will not be disappointed. I went with the Shepherds Pie which I had sampled at the New Times Pairings event. It comes with beef and lamb, vegetables, mashed potatoes and covered in cheese. It comes in the skillet it is baked in — be careful could be super hot! It was so good I risked burning the roof of my mouth for the first couple of bites because I couldn’t wait to eat it. It was worth a burn here or there. I cooled down the hot pie with a Fat Tire. They have some good beers available. The real star of the show was the waitress. Yari I believe her name was. SHEWAS A BALLOFENERGY and super nice. She made us cheer every time she raised her arms. She would come over, ask how everything was and then raise her arms and we would hoot and holler as the rest of the place looked at us like we were maniacs. Glad I found a good option to go have some drinks, eat some hearty food and have a good time. I think it turns more into a «party» at night as they have another room with a DJ. We are old folks so we bailed at like 10 before the college kids got there to get their party on.

Great stop in downtown Fort Lauderdale! Stopped here for an «after party» with some Unilocalers for a pint and some food, and it did not disappoint. Since there are some seriously grimey places in the area, it’s nice to walk in a bar that’s clean, well lit, and that has a nice atmosphere without being overly fancy. It is separated in to two different areas, restaurant with a back bar and a room with a larger bar, darker, and with high tops. It’s a great place for groups, hungry or thirsty alike! First I must say that everyone from the hostess to the managers have great customer service. But our server was the best… Yari, ask for here if you can! She’ll make your meal that much better I can promise you that. For beer, they have a pretty decent list. The manager offered our free pint check in offer even though they were expired upon second look(woops!), but he let us have them anyway. For food, tried a bit of the bread/apples and Brie tray, yum! I ordered a goat cheese, apple, and beat salad and it was delicious, others went for the more traditional Shepherds pie and it looked ah-mazing! One complaint is that the prices are a bit high, but our service was so incredible that it was all worth it. Overall, good vibe, good food, and good people made for an enjoyable evening. Cheers!

Definitely a great option on Las Olas dining scene! Stopped in on this location for a quick drink with friends. Some wonderful draught choices, I went with a tried and true Blue Moon but looking forward to coming back and trying the Strongbow and other referred favorites.

Outdoor tables perfect for 2nd Street people watching, a comfy indoor dining room, plus a separate large bar area with many bar stools & high tops.(This was the old Himmarshee Bar & Grill). Chicken Wings to die for(in a guinness sweet marinade), exquisite Prince Edward tender mussels in a broth just made for dipping bread, corned beef moist & delicious and a yummy Shepard’s Pie. Portions are ample and perfect for sharing. Wait staff attentive, friendly and knowledgable. We’ve been there 3 times in the last month and the food and service have been consistent. Choices galore for going solo, a small group or a large group. Our new favorite place! So much fun! You will not be disappointed! Check out their Happy Hour from 4 – 7 pm.

Being a Boston boy, and living in Miami I’m always looking for my go-to Irish pub. I’ve tried just about all of them in Miami and most of them have mediocre food, which I can deal with. What I can’t deal with is Guiness which doesn’t taste like the milk of the gods. If the lines aren’t clean, the nitrogen not mixed right, the storage of the beer not environmentally ideal, or even the glasses not cleaned quite right you will get many flavors in the beer which are just not good. Typically its a tinny taste, and a lack of creamy smoothness. I have to admit that this is the best Guiness I’ve had in southern Florida. I might have to come back for food, but the Guiness was perfect, kudos to you guys!

Dubliner, in the former location of what was PL8 Kitchen is yet another shot at being an Irish pub and restaurant in a town and area fairly well populated with them. What sets it apart from the nearby others is that it has a rather complete menu with some decent food offerings. I opted for the steamed mussels which came in an iron pot perfectly done and with a rather superb broth. I also had half their half Reuben sandwich along with a chopped salad. The Reuben had plenty of meat, was tasty and served on a particularly nice bread. The chopped salad was not only tasty but interesting in that it came with a good number of walnuts added into it. They not only have a decent selection of whiskeys but also of beer and ales, however, you might know that they were out of the ales I went there to have… so much for going out of my way to put up with that in the future. Though they have Irish music, various Irish pictures including a huge life size Oscar Wilde, two bars, an upstairs Irish library, high table seating in the one bar and sit down table seating in another bar and dining area plus an some really good seating out on the sidewalk where you can enjoy people watching along the main part of the Himmarshee District. Out of the number of neighborhood Irish pubs, I’d say Dubliner is the best bet when it comes to food. I could almost go Four Stars but I can’t say that I’m a fan of the place basically because the staff seems to enjoy goofing around with the music, turning it up, then turning way way up, turning down, changing music in midstream then changing speakers from front to rear and generally fooling around in what I found to be the most annoying of ways. It might not bother you much in the evening or when they have entertainment. Maybe they’ll then have better things to do but it’s something you wouldn’t want to put up with during a lunch, especially a business or conversational luncheon. I had to get up and move tables because of it, but when I located in a quieter area, they’d seemingly for no reason, unless intentionally to harass me, switched speakers from rear to front ending me up with the same problem I had just escaped from. Though friendly and polite, the staff seems to be anything but an orderly well organized group keeping the business as their main concern. By the way, there are a few Five Star no friends first timer reviewers I see about Dubliner which appear to me to be about as phony as they can get. For example one even says that he hasn’t seen an Irish Pub like this since he left Cork. Really now!!! Isn’t that just a little too much?
