Best pizza I have had in South Florida and Papi is a great guy who wants to take care of his customers. If you like buffalo wings try the chicken buffalo pizza you won’t be disappointed

We tried to order buffalo chicken calzone. They didn’t have ANY buffalo. No wings and no subs. Ended up asking for a chicken and Swiss calzone. It came with mozzarella. Also order a steak gyro. The worst gyro I have ever eaten and I love gyros. Steak was over cooked and dry. Tasted like cube steak. Pita for gyro was burnt and crunchy. No tzatki sauce either. We always order from here to but never again now.

Ordered 3 pizzas for my team on Thursday for Lunch, they stated 45 minutes for delivery and they arrived on time. The pizza was excellent and will be a place we will order from going forward since we’re just about to open a new office near this location.

This is really a take out only place. I showed up for lunch with a couple of coworkers as this place is very close to work. There is a single stool and no tables. There is a small counter up against the window. The lovely lady in our group got the stool and my other coworker and I stood at counter. The pizza lunch special was two HUGE slices and a soda. Each topping is $ 0.50 extra and I got bacon and sausage. They don’t skimp on toppings either. Overall the pizza was good and tastes like New York pizza, especially the crust. I’m from CT, so I know what real NY pizza tastes like. I won’t come here for lunch because no seating, but will order from here.

Better than I expected. I was actually going to the burger place next door when I saw the NY sign, figured Id give it a try. I just moved here about 3 weeks ago from NY and am still looking for a good pie. This is dam close to NY pizza, not quite but still very good. The area is not great but the pizza is legit.

This review will be short due to limited interaction etc but here it is. I saw this place a few times being they are near my job and what caught my attention is they have slices. Specifically, their Papi’s Special two slices and soda $ 4.72. When I called by phone to place my order there was a little language barrier but we worked it out and I was able to place my order. My order was ready for pickup at the time they stated and it was hot and fresh. This is a little tiny place in a small plaza next to a 7 – 11. Now for the food. My pizza again was hot and over all good but not the best and I will tell you why. I will say the crust was outstanding(5 Stars). The pizza in my opinion would have went from a good to amazing if there was a little flavor in the sauce and pizza over all but the crust made up for it all. I would definitely return and consider other items also.

Great lunch special at a great price. Two pieces of pizza and a drink for $ 6! Pizza tastes great too. Service is quick. In and out in 5 minutes.

When my husband and I want pizza we usually call papis since its so close to the house. I think they changed owners a while back because it’s not the same as it used to be. It’s still good pizza though.

It seems that my food cravings always involve getting New York food down in the sixth borough. While delicious fried chicken available at 3am is commonplace in Manhattan, it is unheard of in FLL. But I digress – Papi’s is one exception. Pizza is one of those things where I have 10 different places I like, but never in the mood to go to any of them. Papi’s has such an expansive menu that I have yet to tire of his food. It is rare to find true New York style pizza in SFL. Papi’s fits the bill. The dough is thin up until you reach the crust where it becomes appropriately thick. The pizza has some grease to it, but that is not uncommon to this style. I will concede that I do hate it when«pizza juice» runs down my arm while I am indulging. I have also had the pasta which was very good. You must add on a garlic roll(94¢!) as they are very well made. Truly the New York way! The place is small. Like small enough where you walk in and you are as far in as the place goes. The other reviewers posted photos that do the place justice. It is well decorated with subway tile and New York memorabilia. Papi is a nice guy who truly loves what he does. He is the stereotypical pizzaman. I do have one complaint. Not so much a complaint as a PSA for anyone coming to eat here. The parking lot is God-awful. It is in the Peachtree Plaza(sounds like Atlanta doesn’t it?) Each time I’ve visited, I have had to be extra careful as cars are always backing up without looking!

I was originally going to give two starts until I tried the chicken parm. The pizza is nothing special. Although the pizza is «N.Y. Style» it is very basic and FAR from a descent slice of N.Y. pizza! The sauce and dough taste like it is made with unfiltered tap water. I would rather order from Dominoes(gross!) The chicken parm was a flattened out, un-breaded piece of chicken that taste like it was boiled in toilet water. I called and spoke with the manager and he told me everyone loves their food and there was nothing wrong with my order. After a little back and forth he told me he will take my name down and my next meal was free. I never went back. I ended up throwing the whole meal out after attempting a second bite. I gave Papi’s three chances all together, twice with the pizza and once with the parm. I should have stopped after one. STRIKEYOUROUT!!! If you want to eat quality food don’t eat here. If you don’t have working taste buds then this place is for you! One positive — the garlic knots where not that bad.

I hit Papa’s right as they were closing, but they were more than accommodating by heating and selling me a slice of pizza. The pizza style they specialize in is New York, being the style hand tossed, a light layer of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and then available with various toppings; mine being pepperoni. Their slices are big, as in really generous in size, priced at what I would consider to be a good value, and true to the New York traditional style, a crispy outer crust, with the other dough areas somewhat flexible, mushy and with the capability of being easily folded to be eaten on the run as in street food. As for the taste, though not exactly what you might actually find in New York, pretty darn good. If there is a downside, it has to do with the creepy location in a corner strip mall that has clearly seen its better days and located within with close proximity to a pawn shop which appears to be the hang of some rather unsavory looking neighborhood type characters. Though nothing exceptional, A-OK as far as I’m concerned.

My wife and I went here today to see if this pizza was anywhere close to what she had recently in NYC. It was very good. Definitely not as good as what you get in NYC, but that is to be expected. Overall the taste was great, and the crust was New York style, with the crunchy, crispy outside, and chewy inside. Yum! Although you could sit inside and eat, it’s mainly set up for takeout and delivery. There are no tables. It’s a tiny little place. Honestly not sure if we’ll return, but not because there was anything wrong. More because there are so many more places out there to try! :o)

When you walk into this place you really feel like your in New York. The slices are the size of your face and the prices are incredible. As I took my first bite I was sure that Papi’s would become a weekly lunch spot for me. It’s the best pizza I have had in florida by far.

This little gem in the heart of the Fort Lauderdale business district will not disappoint. The place is small, but the flavors are huge! The New York style pizza here is spot on. The drink selection did not disappoint, but the real bonus are the prices! Everything on the menu is «section 8» cheap. Save yourself the plane ticket and eat here. It will make you say«Ay PAPI!»

I loved this place! Only reason why I don’t go back there is because I love very far away. When I went there for lunch first time it was kind of empty and I thought«oh-oh red flag alert» right? Wrong! Place is very cozy, cool table tops, cheesy but cool, service was very warm and friendly, menu had a lot of dif choices and the pizza was super yummy, big and cheap. We sat at this little private booth like table and had the honey mustard chicken pizza which was a new for me(never heard of such combination before!) and boy was it yummy. I try to recreate this crazy pizza at home sometimes but ain’t the same :(I might have to go back there sometime when the cravings get unbearable!

I stopped in again today and went for a hot sub. I talked with Papi. He is very blunt and to the point. They won’t really suggest anything — they have just about everything and make it clear you have a lot of choices. I saw the list of specials, some of them priced very nicely around $ 5 or $ 6, but they are mostly pasta. The only non-pasta dishes are the chicken and rice and a cold sub(ham & provolone). I wanted a hot sub, so I went with the meatball parm. It was $ 7.50 with tax. As for the sub, it was a good size sub, made simple — no extras, but it was quality. The bread, cheese, meatballs and sauce tasted great and it was well put together. I’ll go back here again sometime and keep trying stuff until I figure out what’s the best.
