We are so disappointed the restaurant closed. Do not go to American Vintage, which has replaced Shula’s, unless you are just going for drinks at the bar or maybe a sandwich. Look up American Vintage at the same location and you’ll see why. I did hear Shula’s may be looking for a spot nearby!

Stay away ! ! ! .I booked my Valentines day lunch here. From our arrival to departure was horrible The hostist didn’t even get us, even a dog wags his tail when you see them. Second our waiter, he was far from professional, we were greeted, «what’s good«not with the normal, welcome to. Shulas is this your first time dining with us. We ordered off. the lunch menu so the selection was limited, my wife’s salad did not come out with my starter, we had to ask the waiter, he couldn’t even remembered what we ordered. After 30 min our main course finally showed up. I could have gone to Out Back or Long Horn and gotten better service and meal. Ihave been to the Naples Shula’s twice and it’s night and day compared to this spot, ! ! ! ! ! STAYAWAYSTAYAWAY

I have been lucky enough to take in dinner here with my family a few times and each and everyone of them been enjoyable, from the maitre de, waitstaff, right down to the bus boys. Each and everybody acts with a care and professional courtesy. The food to is worth the price. The first time I visited in Jan 2011 I indulged in 16 oz Shula Cut N.Y. Strip and the lobster mashed potatoes. The lobster mash jumped off the fork and the wine was poured like a pro. My second time visiting was one of the finest dining experiences I have experienced. We were seated as a party of 4 with a great view of the ocean and enjoyed a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer as the sun was setting over Ft. Lauderdale beach. I ended up with a 12oz Filet in béarnaise sauce, cooked to absolute perfection. The side spinach was good but almost too garic-eky. You will certainly get what you pay for here at Shula’s… Top-Knotch service. very good food and a beautiful view of the beach.

Very good resort dining. My girlfriend ordered the lobster tail and the lobster mashed potatoes which were prepared perfectly. I ordered the steak and mashed potatoes, both of which were excellent. The presentation was amazing, and the service was exquisite. It was worth the money, and was our first meal on vacation. I could not think of a better way to start our getaway. Don’t go into this restaurant on a «outback» budget… you get what you pay for. Well done!

Overrated, overpriced, and really just not that good quality of meat. I lost a lot of respect for coach Shula after dining here.

We were staying at the Westin and wanted an early dinner. Shula’s wasn’t serving dinner until 5:30p so we sat at the bar to check out the lounge menu. Apps, salads, and burgers. We split the Shula’s house salad which consists of arugula topped with cranberries, walnuts, and cheese, with a light vinaigrette. It was very tasty. Ordered the French onion burger and the blue burger which came out cooked to order, juicy, and delish! Menu said served with steak fries but they were thin and crispy, like McDonalds. Didn’t make it to dessert but would have loved to try the molten chocolate lava cake.

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Classic steak house, comparable to other Shula’s. It was annoying that the waiter kept upselling us on just about everything. Food was good, not remarkable. We ordered stone crab claws and they were just ok at best. They weren’t as fresh as they should have been, and they weren’t cracked properly. If you’re gonna charge that much, you need to figure it out. Grouper was good, steak was good and cooked well. Decent wine list with decent prices. Nothing spectacular here, but a decent overall experience.

Worth the money. Very pricey, but the food is worth it. Great wine/cocktail list(the wine list is on a iPad they let you look at) The atmosphere is comfortable, the only bad part is you have to walk through the hotel to get to the resturant, especially when they are busy its kind of a lot to walk through all the hotels guests. You also use the same valet or self Peking garage as the hotel so it takes a while to get your car back! Appetizers are delicious, but really, you don’t need one. The portions are HUGE. The side dishes are big enough to share between 2 – 3 people each, everything is a la carte. We had the prime rib and lobster tails with twice baked potatoes and lobster mashed potatoes. Twice baked potatoes eh not that great but everything else was fantastic! Desert is a little limited and sounds like store bought; tiramisu, chocolate cake, cheesecake ehh. I’m sure they switch them up but I didn’t hear anything that I’d want to try.

Review: Shula’s is inside The Westin Beach Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere is modern and sleek with dark woods in sharp angles. White table cloths drape each table. SEATING is both inside and out with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Ft. Lauderdale Beach from every table. Breakfast menu is pricy and a-la-carte. An «Ultimate» omelette is $ 16(Nov. 2014) and like most near-hotel establishments Shula’s offers a continental buffet at $ 15. West coast travelers, like me, enjoy hot sauce with their eggs — If that is you, prepare for disappointment unless Tabasco Brand is your favorite. COFFEE is acceptable but not exceptional. You know I am particular about coffee and latte beverages. If you are a guest at the Westin Beach Resort, breakfast at Shula’s is convenient. SAVE10% with your Starwood Preferred Guest card. Adding a couple locally sourced menu items would step up their selections. My server was friendly and attentive. Nice! To be fair, I have not tried dinner — so a review of evening fare will follow once I do. If this review is helpful, let me know. Happy dining.

So my reason for even the three star is literally the location and view! I honestly didn’t like anything on the menu. We had a party of 12 and most of the girls decided to order different items so we can get a taste of everything. Not worth all the hype.

Back a second time. Service was fantastic. I had the shrimp cocktail and the 12 oz Shula Filet Mignon. We also had a side of Grilled Asparagus. Great wine selection. We had a bottle of Silver Oak. It was outstanding. Steak was cooked perfect. The food, service atmosphere, all great. A must go when in town.

Filet was perfect, asparagus was very tastey. The bread was warm and fresh along with all parts of our meal. Worth the price. Service was amazing. Our waiter was checking on us constantly and cleared away plates so quickly. Very friendly staff. Beautiful atmosphere and view of the ocean.

Great location, great service. The calamari fries were an unusual presentation I think I remember only seeing in one other place in years. The main course of the grouper worked out well for me and the portion was large enough to take home a good enough piece for lunch the next day.

We had a fantastic experience here on our last night of vacation. Came down for a late dinner on their patio and Nicole was our server– she was SOGREAT. Attentive, laid back and very sweet. She really made our experience here wonderful. We ordered a burger to share and a couple of sides– the burger was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Also had their white wine sangria which was fantastic as well. The morning we left we had a continental breakfast with yogurt/fruit/croissant etc, and it was great too. Not much else to say except they did everything right at Shula’s!

Living in the Tampa Area, we’ve never been to SHULA’S due to mixed reviews. Visiting Ft Lauderdale, I was yet again leary after reading some of the other«less then positive» reviews, but I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Skeptical about the BBQ Shrimp in a Tangy BBQ sauce stuffed with Basil, shockingly, the mix of flavors was very very good. We ordered a 12oz Filet w/Pan seared Scallops to Share and I was pleasantly surprised to find that a filet steak that size was prepared to a perfect medium plus… without being butterflied. It was served hot, juicy and with a perfect flavor(not bland, not over powering). We opted for the Cognac Peppercorn Sauce on the side which is more to my liking and similar to an alcohol infused brown gravy.

I have been to many Shulas but needed to visit one in Miami-Ft Lauderdale. Being near the Dolphin training facility you can feel that you are in the presence of the leader of the former Miami Dolphin Dynasty’s Holy Trinity. I half expected to see Arnsbarger, and Schnellenberger walk in here with all of the New Yawkers! Anyway, porterhouse, spinach, Caesar Salad, and shrimp cocktail is my set order at Shulas. I have yet to be disappointed. Together with a wonderful California Pinot Noir and a beautiful patio near the beach and you have the recipe for a wonderful dinner. It was wonderful escaping the cold of the Northeast. I do not need to say the obvious that Shulas qualifies for All Madden status!

Beautiful night to sit outside overlooking the beach. Waitress came right over, knew my name by the reservation, which is a very nice touch. Ordered cocktails, which were promptly served with delicious sour dough bread. We split the wedge salad. They split it in the kitchen, again very nice touch. Normally I find you don’t get enough blue cheese and toppings on a wedge, this came overloaded! It was very good. Then we split a 12 oz filet, and for a change we ordered it oscar. It came with chunks of crab, asparagus and hollandaise sauce. I found it a bit heavy, as I am used to a plain filet. But the flavor was very good, paired with the lobster mashed potatoes, it was very yummy. I was so full, I could not order the chocolate cake for dessert that I saw the next table enjoying. I will save that for my next visit, which will be in the near future!

To start off Shula’s is not for the light of pocket, if you’re going to go expect to spend some money but luckily you’ll more than likely get your money’s worth. Service was outstanding, the waiter was friendly and exciting without being over the top or phony. He made some quality recommendation and asked about where I was from and even had comments on the weather back home, I feel he was prepared and engaging. Food for the most part was excellent, for the starters I had the calamari fries, breaded perfectly, cooked thoroughly without being greasy, great flavor and nice consistency I had the 16 oz New York strip, this was a quality piece of meat, I had it medium rare and the knife cut through it like butter, perfectly cooked, great flavor. I also had a order of scallops to go with the steak, these too were nicely cooked, with great flavor. Another side included the sauteed mushrooms The one thing I didn’t enjoy too much was the crab mac and cheese, it wasn’t horrible but it was just okay, I felt like the crab was very light. I’m not a big enough mac and cheese fan alone for it to be light on the crab. Overall excellent experience at Shula’s on the Beach, definitely worth a visit if you want to have a special occasion or show a date a nice night on the beach.

Pleasantly Surprised! I love when that happens! My friend and I wanted to walk the beach and then grab some dinner/drinks/watch some football [it was the playoffs]. We noticed they had an outside bar, it was a great night, and had 2TV’s. We sat down had a very nice lady bartender, ordered our drinks and chilled. It was great! I landed up just getting a tomato, basil, mozzarella salad which was definitely big enough for dinner. They served us some amazing delicious bread as well and we hung out here for a couple of hours. I will agree with the other reviewer we got there a little on the early side but by the time we left around 8:30 pm the restaurant had definitely picked up in terms of number of patrons. Definitely would go back!

It’s most definitely and quite clearly a steak house. It’s big, though somewhat dated in décor, rather pricey, roomy, located in the Westin and packs up rather quickly especially on season but more particularly when there is a convention in the Westin Convention Hall. It’s clean, neat, run in a most orderly fashion with superlative service and offering a good view of the ocean, especially if you are seated out of doors on the overlooking patio area. The meats are really good, totally top of the line quality cuts though not done with the perfection of Lauderdale’s more prominent steak houses, Capital Grill, Mortons and Ruth Chris; equal to but lacking in the glitz and pizzazz of the more modern, stylish Steak 954 located in the W Fort Lauderdale hotel. However, Shula’s does give them a good run for the money. As Shula’s is a steak house, I would strongly recommend that you stick with any one of their meat orders. They do have seafood, but mostly over embellished such as Grouper crusted with pistachio or scallops with spinach and garlic. On steaks, it’s difficult to go wrong with any of Shula’s custom cut, aged steaks plain or combined with any one or a combination of two of their four sauce offerings. I found the red pepper chimichurri and their béarnaise to both be particularly good.
