When we first walked through the entrance the host asked us what room we stayed at when we told him our room number that was on the top floor he made a comment to the other host, which made me feel insecure. We were led through a hallway and tild to sit down on a weird bench to wait for our table, and we were able to see the beautyful jely fish tank. Then we sat down outdoors at sunset the sceenery was very nice, but as the sun went down we ate our diner in the weirdest lighting, most of the light i got was from a fake candle, a great romantic touch(Scarasm). I could barely see my date in front of me. My emerald ring in a light green looked as if it was black. I got chicken but i would not recomend it to anyone else that does not like skin. The main course was fine but honestly the sides were better than the meal. Do not order the sliders, good flavor but not worth it. I highly recommend the kale and coliflower side as well as the cream spinach and the truffle Mac ‘n cheese. The service was good other than the weird hosts. The best food is made at dinner but the outdoor seat area isn’t. Lessen learned. I stay at the hotel a lot so I probably will go back.

This place is fantastic! The jellyfish tank is super cool and mesmerizing. The décor is lovely, the only downside to it is that there’s a lot of background noise and it can make it hard to hear your date. We started with the beef tartar, lobster bisque and Caesar salad. All were delicious and the size of the Caeser salad was VERY filling! I had one of their speciality cocktails. It was delicious, but consider yourself warned that they make them strong! For our entrees my friend had the salmon and I got the delicious skirt steak. It was fantastic and they give you tons of meat! We ordered the creamed spinach(also delicious) and truffled potatoes for our sides. We were way too full to order dessert, but the options on the menu sounded AMAZING! I will definitely leave more room for this next time. Lastly, the service was top notch. Our server was pleasant and on top of everything. He didn’t interrupt is too many times to make sure we were doing okay and his recommendations were great. I’m excited to come back!

To start, the tiradito– MINDBLOWING. I will keep coming back just for that. A modern steakhouse without the darkness/foramility of a «steakhouse». Sure, the service can be spotty, but we are in South Florida, the«south New York». South Florida is not known for good service, but damn this place can put out good food. I like the outside venue much better than inside. And the bar leaves a lot for the imagination. But, you are at the W. And the steaks are always purrfect… This is not the steakhouse you went to with your grandparents, and that is a good thing.

Went to steak 954 for Fathers Day Brunch and let me tell you the food was excellent but the service was terrible. I had the eggs benidict it was excellent and the blueberry pancakes were the best pancakes I have ever had the blueberries were so fresh and the chantily cream was awesome that I didn’t even need syrup also had shrimp cocktail that was cooked just right Now for the service we waited like 30 minutes to be seated for our 12 noon reservation then waited another 20 minutes just for drinks to come the waiter said they were a little backed up due to the holiday but the restaurant was not even busy then we waited another 45 minutes for the food. Called over the manager he apologized for the wait and adjusted the bill for us. I would go back just because the food was so good and I would hope the service would be better for a very expensive restaurant.

I had a bad Experience at this place the waiter spilled Syrup one me Twice, And Then broke a plate right next me So my Fathers Day breakfast was kind of a mess but The Food Was Good Even Though I really couldn’t enjoy it because of the syrup spilled on me and Flys was sticking on me. But the food was good wish I could have enjoyed it better.

Don’t believe all those negative Unilocal reviews about this place. They are totally wrong and inaccurate. I was skeptical about going here after reading some of the reviews, but I’m glad I went. The service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, funny, honest, and an all around good guy. He didn’t try to upsell us and made excellent recommendations. My wife wanted the lobster dish but he advised there were much better choices. We really appreciated that. I had one of the best cooked steaks I could remember. A 50 day aged 20oz NY Strip, cooked to perfection. We had the whipped mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. Both were phenomenal. Since it was my Bday, our server brought us out a red velvet cupcake, it s was delicious. Dessert was fantastic. I had cheescka make and my wife had the soufflé. All in all this place was too notch. I will definitely be going back whenever I’m in town. Again, excellent service from everyone. We were made to feel welcome and important. Yes it is pricey, but totally worth every penny. I usually don’t post reviews, but I felt I had to give Streak 954 the credit it deserves. So don’t be discouraged if you read the negative reviews. They are wrong.

This is literally the same old story about all these overrated steak houses in south Florida(see my review at Meat Market Palm Beach)…here goes the one about Steak 954. I start off by telling the waitress my wife is 11 weeks pregnant. We order the jumbo shrimp and the French onion. Both are well above average, off to a good start. Here’s where the night goes down hill… My wife orders the 12 oz filet MEDIUM because she is pregnant. When our steaks come out she cuts hers in half to make sure it’s medium and it’s on the rare side of medium-rare. We wait for what seems like an eternity have it sent back. I actually had to grab the attention of another waiter to have it sent back. I will say our waiter got stuck with a table of 8 who appear to have never been out to dinner before and needed the entire menu explained to them, one by one. The steak that my wife cut in half comes back, slightly more cooked than before. Not only did they not have the decency to fire up a new steak for her, but they didn’t even bring back a medium steak. At that point I didn’t have the energy to send the same steak back a third time. At no point did the manager come to our table to apologize. When he did stop at our table it was to refill our water(which was the only time it was refilled the entire night). To top it all off NOTHING was comp’d on the entire $ 160 bill. So to summarize: –steak not cooked to order –reused the same steak –no apology from management –nothing comp’d I am completely done with the hype on Unilocal about these so called 4 – 5 star steak houses in south Florida. You want a good steak? Go to Sparks, Smith & Wollensky, or Peter Lugers. The ONLY place I have had a proper steak down here is Prime 112. Everything else, including Steak 954, might as well be Outback. Done.

Fantastic breakfast and superior service. Surprisingly there were not that many people there for being mid morning. We offered our choice of seating and choose to sit by the jelly fish tank. It was a great choice. Breakfast was included with our stay at the W. The French toast was delicious. Perfect just the right amount of sweetness. The omelette was cooked to perfection. The orange juice was freshly squeezed. If you stay at the W and have the option to have this added to your stay do it. If not for breakfast plan on spending $ 40 for 2 plus tip.

Simply put, Steak 954 is overrated and overpriced. I went to Steak 954 on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is connected to the W Hotel. We valet parked and after walking through the hotel lobby were quickly seated inside. The inside of the restaurant is really nice. The giant jellyfish tank is a great touch and looks amazing at night. To start with, the service, while very prompt isn’t very friendly. Our two waiters both seemed to have attitudes — almost as if we were inconveniencing them. We ordered appetizers and drinks, which were fine. Nothing special, not terrible either. As I’ve always ordered steaks on my previous visits(which are good, but certainly not comparable with other«high end» steak houses), I ordered the Miso Black Cod. Allow me to warn everyone — this dish is absolutely awful. The taste was so repulsive, it was painful to even take the first few bites. After a few bites I gave up. Regardless, this place is really overpriced for the taste of the food.

Good food(albeit pricy – but expected at a venue like this), average service. The ambiance is great — lots of outdoor seating. There’s a huge fish tank filled with 200 jellyfish in the center of the restaurant — ask to sit by it if you are dining inside. The cuts of meat are fantastic. We ordered the filet, along with a couple sides: truffled mac and cheese(was really just OK – not super«truffled»), smoked cauliflower and kale, and sauteed mushrooms and onions. For dessert, we ordered the key lime pie baked alaska. It was okay but nothing out of this world. The service was a tad slow, but all of the staff were very accommodating and kind.

Absolutely the best restaurant in FLL. Amazing service and amazing food. Very upscale scene so a fun excuse to dress up. We got great cocktails(martini and mojito) and a fabulous bottle of French wine. Their wine list is not only well rounded but fairly priced. We got the wedge salad to start, I got the black cod and my husband a bone in steak. The black cod was so perfectly cooked and prepared I could have had multiple. My husbands steak was, of course, wonderful too.

Visited here with a good friend to catch up on our lives, during a visit to the W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Based on her recommendation(she had lunch there the day before). We had high expectations based on that recommendation… and then even higher on reviewing the prices(and we frequent such establishments regularly). Pros: — Good service, albeit the kitchen was very slow — Excellent and perfectly cooked steak(a think filet, seared, «Pittsburg style», but medium rare and with a very warm, but not bloody center). I find this level of steak expertise to be «rare»(no pun intended), and this is especially hard with a very think cut). We ordered with sauteed foie gras… WONDERFUL. — Great Appetizers — Tuna Tacos with Fois Gras, Salads, and Fantastic, and traditional cream based lobster bisque. _Their seafood platter is amazing, we actually tried that the morning after with some mimosas. _Nice liquor pour on all drinks from Martinis to Margaritas to mimosas and regular simple pineapple rum, nice all around, and we got a taste of pretty much everything, I light drinker like me just couldn’t keep up to her connoisseur ways. _Hard to miss mesmerizing huge jelly fish tank in the restaurant, calming, entertaining and quite interesting. It puts things into perspective and makes you wonder that this creatures have lived for 650 million years without a brain, gives hope to many Homo-sapiens.

Nice restaurant in the W hotel. Great outdoor seating with a view of the ocean, and at nice, dimly lit due to the turtle lighting requirement. I enjoyed the lobster bisque(not your usual lobster bisque, creamy, tasted wonderful, with a few large chunks of lobster) along with a crab cake(highly recommend) and the tater tots. I know, wacky combo. But it sounded good. My friend ordered the 12 ounce New York and it was prepared well. Our service was so-so. I think we were a little miffed when he just brought the bill, instead of asking us if we wanted anything else, like dessert or coffee. And then, I stuck my credit card in there immediately, and he waited for 20 minutes before he picked up the card. Annoying.

We loved our experience at this restaurant. First off, Richard our waiter, was helpful and charming. The food was delicious, the wine excellent. It’s not inexpensive, but the portions are generous. We enjoyed several raw appetizers and shared a American wagu steak, and it was perfect. This was a great choice for a romantic and fun dinner out.

One of the best meals I’ve EVER had and I’ve definitely had my fair share of fine dining experiences. I’m just going to start with the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in you see this beautiful yet relaxing 2,000 gallon jelly fish tank that’s located in the center of the restaurant. As you turn the corner you have a beautiful view of the beach and these beautiful torch lights outside. The décor is very high end and sleek. Then you get a taste of the food. Everything we ate practically melted in our mouths. We ordered a lot of food but we all agreed that the best things we ate were the tomato and mozzarella salad, organic salmon, filet mignon, au gratin potatoes, & chocolate and cherry bread pudding. Everything was delicious but the things I listed above were the best we’ve ever had. The service was exemplary! You have a main server, a bread server, and a drink server. They were all very fast and friendly. My grandparents are in their 70’s, have traveled all over the world, and said this was the best meal they’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back!!!

Steak 954 is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Split the 32oz porterhouse and couldn’t have asked for a better cut! We had the pleasure of being waited on by Stephanie which helped solidly the 5 star rating. She was enthusiastic and knowledgable about the restaurant beyond just the table. We had questions about the jellyfish tank that is centrally placed in the restaurant. Stephanie was able to answer questions ranging from a jellyfish diet to reproductive process! Would recommend this location and server to anyone looking for the best steak in town!

What you been to Steak 954? If you answer is anything other than ‘YES’… stop reading this and go make a reservation. My wife and I went for our anniversary and it was EXCELLENT. Between her Halibut and my Braised Short Rib, the food was on point and service was out of this world. No seriously, my Braised Short Rib looked like it had just been ripped from a Dinosaur Leg, it was HUGE and awesome. Ok, I’m making myself hungry so I should wrap this up. No, it’s not cheap, but as I’ve said before, if I’m going to spend 30 – 50 $ per entrée, it better be worth it, and Steak 954 certainly was. A+

Well, the food was good. The service was terrible. We were sat outside and it took about 10 min for our server to let us know she would be with us shortly. We ordered cocktails and they took over 20 min to be delivered to our table. After we placed our order, another sever brought out some bread that was really warm and tasted great. It had been over an hour since we had placed our order for our entrees with our server, so we asked for more bread and ordered more cocktails. When we notified the server our salt shaker was broken, she came with a bowl of salt and a spoon. Awkward! We asked the server twice for bread and never rec’d our last round of cocktails. Finally, our food arrived. Fries were cold, but they brought more out. When leaving(like 2.5 hours after we got there!) I spoke with the manager and tried to explain what happened. He said they do things very different than other steakhouses. So, I guess it’s just us! Anyway, I expected decent service for $ 200 meal. We won’t be returning.

Great place for breakfast! We stopped by this morning and were more than pleased with the breakfast menu options. They have indoor & outdoor seating, we chose inside for the ac. Décor was modern, clean, simple, best part the aquarium of jellyfish. Coffee is hot, dark & yummy. We enjoyed the bacon & tomato omelet, & eggs benedict, which were both served with delicious lyonnaise potatoes. But the best breakfast entrée were the thick pancakes cooked just right. Service started out as acceptable but at the end he faded away in the busy workload. Overall best breakfast in the area, nice beach view and good place to enjoy together.

This review is only of Breakfast at Steak 954. Came with a friend on a Saturday morning. They didn’t have any outside tables at all, so we ate inside, which was pretty empty. The table wasn’t very big, and the chairs barely had an armrest. The overall atmosphere was pretty nice; an awesome view of the beach, and a really neat jellyfish tank when you come in. Service seemed friendly, and were pretty attentive with our needs and refilling our drinks. To start off we ordered, and split a pecan pie pop-tart. This wasn’t on the menu at all, nor did our server tell us it was on the menu, but my friend knew it was, so he asked. The poptart was super sweet, very dessert-like. I wouldn’t have expected it to be good, but it was; very flaky as well. Not something I’d rush back for, but I guess this is their specialty there. For my meal I got the Chorizo, manchego, & roasted tomato omelet; I’d say it was good, but nothing special, and certainly a bit expensive for the price. $ 13 for an omelete, some potatoes, some bitter greens, and toast. The omelete itself had a good taste, but the egg to filling ratio was way off; in favor of egg. The potatoes were crispy, and flavorful. It’s a very nice place to be at; and if you want a view, Steak 954 is probably a good venue for it. But in terms of breakfast, it’s just not up to par in anyway with so many other places. Food(B-), Pricing(D-), Atmosphere(B+), Service(B)

When I came here for the steak kickoff event, I wanted to come back for dinner next time. My husband and I arrived last night to celebrate my birthday and decided to use the valet service. The valet mentioned to us that it would be $ 5 instead of $ 15 if we validate the ticket at the restaurant. Once the hostess knew we were there, we had to wait five minutes, even though we had a reservation and the restaurant was not busy at all. I’m not sure what that was about, but we were seated and our waiter Kevin introduced himself. He did an excellent job describing the items on the menu and answered any questions we may have had. Chris had the Hop Gun IPA and I got the Rum, Don’t Walk cocktail. The cocktail was mixed with pineapple shrub, rum with vanilla and pina bean, and serrano with agave nectar. If I would have another one of those, I really would have been rumming. It wasn’t too strong nor too sweet. The ciabatta bread was also a nice addition to our drinks. It was nicely toasted. Everything on the menu looked delicious and the both of us settled for the filet mignon. They cooked the meat perfectly by our request on how we wanted it cooked and it went so well with the béarnaise sauce. The meat was moist and flavored with the right spices. We opted for two sides and split them since it was a la carte. The stuffed hash browns and creamed spinach were excellent. The hash browns were stuffed with cream cheese and butter and the spinach had the right amount of cheese for the portion. The meats were finished and we took the unfinished sides home with us. Of course, we can’t leave without a dessert. Some of them were very tempting and we went for the frozen chocolate and peanut butter layer cake. It was incredible! I was looking for it to be rich and it wasn’t. The ice cream and the sugar decoration was a nice decoration to it. The staff provided fantastic service the entire time we were there. They periodically checked on us to see if we were happy with our food and if we needed anything else. Our waiter went beyond and made sure our dinner was memorable and enjoyable. He even gave me a red velvet cupcake to go in honor of my birthday since the dessert came out without saying happy birthday on it. It wasn’t necessary and the thought was generous. It was a lovely birthday dinner and we enjoyed everything. Also, keep in mind that the valet charge is added to the bill, so there’s no need to pay for it again when you leave. It’s highly recommended and worth the time to check it out.

One of my favorite steak restaurants on Fort Lauderdale Beach area. Alot of the resort restaurants are rip offs but Steak954 is actually very good and worth the price. Our server was amazing, very informative. I opted for a few appetizers as my meal. We ordered the east and west coast oysters, pan seared scallops with bacon cabernet vinaigrette, lobster crab ceviche, filet mignon beef tartare. The beef tartare here is to die for. It’s so fresh, well mixed and served with toasted thin baguettes. The ceviche was very refreshing and cleanses your palette nicely. The oysters were fresh. The scallops were tender and juicy. The bacon sauce enhanced the flavors. My friend got the 22 oz 40-day dry aged ribeye and it was huge. But it was a perfect medium rare and so delicious. The juices and seasoning were a perfect match and just oozed out of the vary piece of meat.

Very good steakhouse with a good selection of small dishes and some hefty-sized salads. Yes, they have some great brea, they have wonderful steaks, particularly, American wagyu beef, but I’ll make this interesting and focus on the lesser known items. Cold apps: — King crab legs — delicious portion, very sweet homemade cocktail sauce with a touch of fresh horseradish grated in — Lobster ceviche — loved this. Good mix of sweet and vinegar, the coconut milk as others have stated goes well with it — Crab cocktail — nice, jumbo lump crab. if you’re from Maryland, you’d appreciate this — Shrimp cocktail and oysters are pedestrian, although the oysters are served on a block of ice with real seaweed, which is cool Veggies: — Big, big salads. In particular, I recommend the 954 «Steak» Salad, but you can get it with all greens or fish, too. Wonderful crisp lettuce, very good dressing, interesting black beans and grape tomatoes. The cobb is standout as well and comes with an oregano dressing, which is better than the bog-standard vinaigrettes — Beet salad — this is a little smaller, but very good mix of textures. You have golden and red beets, crunchy something on top, pistachios, and micro greens — Kale + cauliflower — blanched, smoked, wonderful. Perfect hearty veggie fitting a steakhouse — The mushrooms and brussel sprouts are a bit overcooked to me, so they become a congealed mass of veggies. Sadly, I still found them delicious from a pure flavor standpoint, but aesthetically they were lacking and texture wise they lost some intrigue Fish: — Halibut and salmon are best. The halibut comes with a wonderfully light tomato and herb type of sauce, almost translucent, with very delicate veggies. The salmon is crisped on one side, organic, and has capers Very savory. — Good attempt at miso black cod. Maybe not as delicate as you might expect from a Japanese restaurant, they overcook the mushrooms here both as an aside and with the cod(in this case maiitake) Service: — Super friendly. The front desk staff does put on a show of making you wait for a table even when not crowded, but I don’t mind because at least they’re making a pretense toward fanciness in the otherwise croc-infested(footwear) Fort Lauderdale

I’ve been to steak 954 before and had a very good experience. Great steak, service, great vibe and ocean views. This time it was my One year wedding anniversary and wanted to come here. I made a reservation through Unilocal on the app, and added notes like — I have a stroller and –outdoor seating –anniversary The valet at W let us know if you validate the ticket at the restaurant it would be a charge of 5 $. The front desk wished us a happy anniversary and asked if we still wanted to be seated outside. Its turtle season and awful dark outside without lighting(only a battery powered pillar candle) As the hostess was seating us I asked for the table near the railing with the ocean view. She hesitated and sat us next to a group of guys, I guess my baby stroller is stopping me from good tables now? :(I’m no longer the cool girl… The waiter came and introduced himself and was very attentive all evening. He was helpful answering any questions and offering recommendations. The warm square ciabatta bread that was served was soo good, my husband and I asked for more, it was delicious. We decided on the Big Eye Tuna tacos with foie gras. I asked how many tacos came in the order he replied 3, not an even number for us to split. I thought I saw a Unilocal pic with 4 tacos do I asked him and he said«sure I can make it 4 tacos no problem» Very thin taco shell, guacamole, rare tuna pieces, and foie gras on top. I took bites and saved the foie gras for last, I didn’t know it really has a liver taste, not worth it to me, poor ducks I’m sorry never again :_( I ordered the duck leg and duck breast. It came out medium rare sliced duck breast and the leg was prepared in a confit style, and had a salad with hazelnuts and vinegrette very light, crisp, and tasty. The confit duck leg was salty. It was a big portion of duck breast, I took the leftovers home and they tasted better the following day(maybe because it was less rare and hot when reheated). My husband ordered the bone-in ribeye steak and the potatoes au grain with truffle on top. He found the steak to be really salty. He ate the whole thing and was full or the night(said he felt the salt in his eyeballs lol). Truffled potatoes how can you go wrong? Just perfect There was a really loud table of young guys beside us, makes it hard to have any romance for me here. I tried to ask a waiters’ assistant a question and he couldn’t speak English! My pet peeve — I feel so alienated when that happens. The waiter brought over a red velvet cupcake with a candle for our anniversary desert, I thought it was a nice gesture, but we were full and took it home. Tasty cupcake for sure, not too sweet. The bill came close to 150 without any alcohol, they charged us 8 $ for the extra taco lol My experience could’ve been better, I was disappointed.

Yet again, Steak 954 never ceases to amaze me and my taste buds. In short, the food is amazing, the service is outstanding and everyone cares about you and your experience. Your parking options are: $ 1 per hour metered parking that is located around the hotel; should you not feel inclined to use the valet. But if you do use the valet, then Steak 954 validates your ticket to give you a $ 5 discount off of your $ 10 valet price. So we made reservations before hand, and informed them it was our one year anniversary. They took our drink orders and answered any questions we had, and we were pleasantly surprised when they brought out two glasses of Prosecco for our celebration. We munched on some bread and enjoyed the Bigeye Tuna and Foie Gras tacos. Both are a must have when you come here. The white bread is fluffy on the inside and just crunchy enough on the outside and it comes with a lovely salted butter. The tacos have hard shells with lettuce, guacamole, fresh tuna and small bits of foie gras on top. If you’ve ever had foie gras before then you know what I mean about it being a party in your mouth. If you haven’t had foie gras, then do yourself a favor and go try some. I ordered the pan seared scallops and they were a great balance of salty and sweet. They come as two large, perfectly seared scallops, a slice of smokey bacon and a bacon-Cabernet vinaigrette. I also ordered the beet salad — which I don’t really suggest unless you absolutely love beets. I thought it was too much. There’s like 6 – 8 beets with dollops of goat cheese and micro-greens. But they were super tasty if you like beets. We ordered some great cocktails: Rum, don’t walk — which is rum infused with pineapple and vanilla bean and a serrano infused agave nectar. This is my new favorite cocktail, it’s sweet but also spicy. My husband ordered the opposite end of the cocktail spectrum: Barrel Aged Manhattan and he loved it. We weren’t even thinking of dessert but since it was our special night, they brought out a scrumptious red velvet cupcake. And I don’t usually like red velvet but this thing is fantastic. It’s super moist, not too sweet or too dull and the frosting is amazing. So for your next celebration, I suggest you choose Steak 954.
