I love the meatball sub, some of the best meatballs I have had. They were tasty and large. I don’t know about the pizza. I would recommend this place.

Loved the mushroom, fontina and basil pizza. All of their pizzas are great(I tried most of them). Service is fast paced and not super nice, but it’s a small kiosk at the airport so hey! Don’t be mean!

This is in Terminal 2 of FLL, adjacent to gate D1. There is cafeteria-style counter service on one side, with a full bar on the other side. Menu consists of breakfast items, small personal sized pizzas, meatball«smashers», and a small variety of other standard sandwhiches. I ordered the«classic» pizza, which consists of tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella. It was already baked and sitting in the glass case. The gentleman you ordered from was talented in the manner that if I tried, I don’t think I could pretend to be any less interested in my job or customers… doesn’t even look at you when you tell him your order or when he hands it to you. That aside, the food is typical airport pricey… $ 8.69 for the pizza and $ 4.39 for bottled H20. The actual pizza was great! It had a nice thick, but very tasty, soft crust. The basil flavor definitely dominated, but not overpowering. Overall, this pizza blows away most of what we get in South Florida(someone moves down from NY and has the totally brilliant and unique idea of opening yet another generic pizza and pasta place in the neighborhood strip mall, mostly named ____The Baker or(insert random italian last name)‘s Pizza… Trying to pass off ketchup on cardboard with ridiculously over-garlicked knots… All being justified as authentic by speaking in a Brooklyn accent). Look forward to trying the meatballs next time I fly through Terminal 2.

Sitting here at 8:30 in the morning. Breakfast bagel was ok. But what is it with the loud music? It started about 8:15 and people are looking around and leaving the eating area. Very strange for the morning and for an airport. I’m leaving now.

Pizza was good, but small for $ 10… Soft crust, some toppings… Sat at the bar to get served faster. The glass of Pinot Noir was $ 20… Guess you gotta love capitalism.

When you eat dinner at an airport, you lower your expectations. Unfortunately, in this case my expectations were still too high. I spent $ 12 for a old personal pan pizza and drink. Crust was soggy on top and stale on the bottom. Sauce was oddly sweet. Pepperoni and cheese were barely invited to the party. Pizza is usually pretty hard to mess up and Torn Basil did an excellent job of making my last meal in the airport a disappointing experience.

I loved it… maybe because I’m not a fan of red sauce and this pizza does not have any but the mushroom, spinach and garlic pizza was great.

There are virtually no options at Terminal 2 at FLL. So whenever I’ve been at that airport I find myself there. And each time I sit down at the bar I remember how terrible the service is. The lackadaisical attitude of the bartenders and their inattentiveness is unbelievable.(People spend 15 minutes just trying to flag someone for the check and another 10 just waiting for them to walk the 2 feet to bring it to you). People are freaking out because they’re going to miss their flight(b/c who knew that you needed to ask for your check 25 minutes before boarding at a gate 100 feet away), but also laughing with each other because of the utter ridiculousness.

Should have eaten the cardboard box the pizza came in and thrown away the pizza. Enough said.

I visited the location inside the southwest terminal, and while the food isn’t horrible, the service seems to be severely lacking. There was no line, just the guy in front of me, me, and the lady behind me, and the woman running the register, Jayanna, was rushing all of us and had moved onto the next customer before the prior customer had even paid. I just found it extremely rude. I’ve worked FOH and BOH. To see customer service this poor makes me very upset. Hire those with the right mindset.

Food was okay, nothing special, typical airport food. I tried smasher 6inch which is basically a meatball sub. A few mystery meatballs, random pieces of cheese, and mystery green«pesto» source sitting on this sorry looking crappiest bread. Folks working here have typical airport food court attitude & manner — product just sell on it’s own, they just sit behind a casher to count the money, don’t we all wish we sell product like that? Unless I’m desperate like bronzed hits Florida and stranded, I won’t go back there again.

Giving them a two star because the food was ok… The service was ridiculous. Very rude, should not be working with the public.

I am only giving 2 stars because the food was ok, but the service was terrible! There was no line, but they rushed us to make our decision on what we wanted. Then when my friends credit card was having a technical issue they were completely rude and degrading to her. The lady called over to a supervisor for help and she looked at my friend and said you don’t have enough money. She told her to try again because she knew it was a mistake. It still didn’t work so I gave the lady my credit card to try and she said see that’s what happens when you have money the card will go through. They need to check their attitudes at the door or find a job not working with the public!

One of the best little pizzas I’ve had. The spicy sauce was incredible. The pepperonis and sausages were great. The meatballs were the MVP. Some of the best meatballs I’ve ever tasted. The ladies working were more than friendly, and one even told me I could sit down and she would bring the pizza out to me when it is ready. I wish I was in the area more, so I could eat here more often.

I am a flight attendant and I stopped by the Torn Basil for some meatballs. The meatballs were not too bad but a few days after i returned home I got a fraud alert. Apparently my card was used twice in Naples, Florida while I was home in Texas. The only place I used my card in Florida was at the Torn Basil in Ft Lauderdale. Actually it was the only place I used the card at all on that trip. I don’t know if that was the origin of the theft but it sure seems possible. Hopefully they will track down the thief.

Looks like some folks have had some gross experiences here, but of the limited options in this terminal I’m really glad I picked this one. Was a little pricey, but the staff was friendly and the personal pizza was surprisingly tasty.

I just spent ten bucks on the grossest personal pizza I have ever had. The dough is raw, the sauce is non existent and the cheese is oily and disgusting.

With traveling with the same airline you seem to get stuck in the same terminal and with the same food options which can get a boring. As we always fly Delta there isn’t much of a good food assortment available so I was happy to see that Torn Basil was now an option which meant PIZZA! We took a seat at the bar and was immediately welcomed by the bartender. She took our drink orders and gave us menus and was back with our beers in no time. The draft beers were smooth, clean, and fresh tasting and the glasses are larger than your usual pint. A cool touch is they serve each beer in it’s brand beer glass! We decided to split the Bronx Bomber pizza and were pleasantly happy with our decision. The best part of the pizza was the nice thick crispy crust! Cooked perfectly with it still being doughy inside the crust! The sauce has a nice spice level and adds to the flavor! A really nice pizza! And although these are«personal» size pizzas the slices are quiet large! I also thought the prices were good considering airport pricing. They have a full bar with a lot of bar stools and table service. I am glad we now have a better choice than flavorless bagels! I intend on visiting each time while flying out!

Traveling and low carb diets don’t really go together so I was pretty pleased when I found the Torn Basil(inside FLL terminal 2) would give me a meatball platter with no carbs! There’s probably sugar in the tomato sauce, but hey I’m trying! I was given the option between 3 and 6 meatballs and chose 3, only to find my plate had 4. So either I misheard, or someone was being nice, or they wanted to get rid of old meatballs on me lol but I’ll take it. Between spicy or regular sauce I chose regular, and provolone or mozzarella I chose mozzarella. The meatballs themselves are pretty dry, but I was able to slather enough sauce around to make them decent. 3(or 4) meatballs and a water for $ 8.58 isn’t all that bad in my book, especially when talking airport prices!

I had the meatball sliders which is a 3-meatball sandwich on three rolls still attached. You get to choose your sauce: traditional, spicy or pesto. I had the spicy which I thought was actually spicy and I eat a lot of spicy food. The meatballs were good and were slightly toasted. At $ 10 I think it’s still pricy for an airport restaurant. $ 8 for a personal pizza. The service is quick and very friendly. They were also giving out samples of pizza which was also good, but I wasn’t in the mood for pizza.
