Stopped in just for Oysters Rockefeller and ordered them twice, little pricy for what it is, much cheeper in Pensacola, FL but the taste was real good, snow crab bucket was good and so was peel and ear shimp, no draft beer but bottles were just fine for me. Would be back in a heart beat! Service was slower but it was busy with the line out the door and it was just perfect for being ao busy!

Great Beach-Bar Food ! If you go to Fort Myers Beach, stopping at The Smokin’ Oyster Brewery(S.O.B.) is a must! This is a great little pub that serves excellent seafood and outstanding burgers. And… for the first time in my life, I have fallen in love with an onion ring! The Beer Battered Onion Rings that they serve here with a pleasantly spicy dipping sauce are absolutely the best that I’ve ever tasted. They made a perfect starter to my Fried Oysters Po-Boy: Fried Gulf Oysters served on a hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato and Remoulade Sauce. Accompanied by live music and washed down with a few bottles of Smokin’ Oyster’s delicious, sea-food-friendly brew called«Whatabeer» this was a meal to remember!

We were in Ft Myers Beach for a few nights and this was our favorite place to eat as far as the quality of the food. Fresh, good selection, and good service.

Smokin Oyster Brewery(SOB) was awesome. Live music. Fun atmosphere. Huge menu with lots of seafood to choose from. Excellent beers and cocktails. Great service. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Ft. Myers Beach.

We are here for three dinners in one week. Spectacular food especially the specials of fresh fish. Grouper sandwiches were also outstanding. Best food we found in area

Stopped by on a rainy cold day and still had fun. Similar to other beach places but with a bit more of a neighborhood bar feel. Wings and island bread are awesome.

This was our first time in Ft. Myer. The hotel host recommended this to us for great seafood at a decent price. It was delicious! A good amount of food for the price. They had some awesome daily specials as well.

Their seafood is always excellent, their waitstaff are always pleasant and they often have good(but not too loud) live music. This place feels like Old Florida in a very good way. We go every year and have no intention of stopping.

What a fun place to eat down on the beach. SOB is a yearly stop for us, and it is always a good time. This year, we went twice and enjoyed AWESOME live music both nights. The atmosphere is very laid back; open window seating under the roof, U-shaped bar, etc, tin signs and TVs everywhere. This year we got some jerk wings, a shrimp boil, and a burger. Never got anything but seafood at SOB, but that burger… WOW! Two delicious patties(like Five Guys but less greasy), served with all the trimmings and crispy fries. Grouper sandwich is also a great choice. Expect a good meal, excellent and friendly service, with some great music on the side!

We stopped in for lunch — it has an open feel which was cool. Had a tea cocktail that was very good. We shared the fried shrimp appetizer — very peppery and very good. We split a grouper sandwich that was sort of flavorless — but I can’t fault the place for that. The onion rings were very good as were the french fries. My guy didn’t like them– they had a batter on them I think — I really liked them. We would return.

We are from out of town and I did some research for good seafood. Eventually I found this place, and it was great! We felt bad because they were closing at 3pm for their Christmas party and we got there at 2, but an employee waved us in and invited us to sit down. We got a steamed bucket and our waiter shucked our food for us, he was great! Never left us alone more than 10 minutes. He was great and didn’t rush us out like I would’ve expected someone would. Great service, great food, great beachy vibes. Definitely going back!

The food, service, and atmosphere were all great! Our server gave us real, honest answers to questions, not trying to up-sell. There was live entertainment during dinner, great open air dining room, and a lively crowd. The three in my party split the cajun scallops, mozzarella sticks, and the dungeness crab broil. Glad we got to experience SOB during our short time in Fort Myers Beach.

As a very casual beach café & bar, SOB clearly defines the style with super fresh food and friendly service that is efficient. We were attracted to the brewery element when I looked it up, but the visit made it better than reading about it. Opening with a Cigar City Maduro and an SOB lager, which tastes resembles Blue Moon dating Sam Adams, we worked into our plates. The first tastes told the story eloquently that the SOB Mesquite Chicken and the plain hamburger were neither frozen nor out of a hockey puck box off the truck. When the timbers of chicken muscle are apparent and juicy, the taste is sure to follow. Yes, we were on target with onion rings and fries resonating with Mesquite spices. What could be so special about burgers, chicken, and fries beyond the scope of fast food? After a so-so dinner last night in an over rated venue, it was a SOB’s friendly service and fresh food that brought my praise.

It pains me to leave this review. We’ve been loyal customers of SOB for the last five years, ensuring at least one meal here every year when we vacation, and often two or three. Unfortunately last year, the grouper sandwich was a disappointment but everything else was okay. This year was another story altogether. The service and atmosphere were great as usual and our server was exceptional! The food was a total disappointment though and might render me a customer, lost forever. Our order consisted of a full loaf of Island bread, bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed mushrooms, a dozen raw oysters, the mega bowl of clam chowder, a fried grouper sandwich, macaroni and cheese, fried shrimp, and a ½ pound of peel and eat shrimp with a side salad. We ordered two margaritas, a Goombay Cooler and a Zombie Drink. Of everything on that list the only items that were even remotely good where the side salad, macaroni and cheese, and the clam chowder. Everything else we ate was just plain bad. Even the drinks were just mediocre. I’m not sure what happened to SOB. Maybe there was a change in the kitchen? Maybe a change in how meals are prepared? Whatever it is, it’s ruined a great restaurant. I’ll end with this, an hour and a half after my meal I was sick with emesis and later in the night it got worse!

Me and my dad went here after a day on Sanibel Island. The servers were really nice and luckily got there at happy hour. We tried the SOB beers and got koozies for $ 1. I ordered the oysters and dad had the coconut shrimp, everything tasted good. Fun atmosphere, open air and had live music while we were there.

I haven’t had this great of an experience in so long! Everything about our night was perfect! Our server was on point. In fact, I can’t think of a time we’ve had better service. We were seated almost immediately on a Saturday evening. Elizabeth swung by very often to check on us and make sure we were taken care of. I indulged in the Grouper Dinner Special and the gf ordered the Shrimp Dinner. Everything from the cut of fish to the creamy cooscoos sauce to the crisp green beans and supple shrimp was delightful. We didn’t have to worry about Parking since we stayed relatively close. Price was what you’d expect to pay for fresh seafood. We also got to experience live music, which was an added bonus. Next time I visit, this is a must-stop on my agenda. I’m so happy with my experience. Here’s to you SOB!

Fun place and good food! We stopped in only to get a bunch of raw oysters and beer. The oysters were clean, shucked and good quality. The place is a bit small, but fun atmosphere. There was a 1 man band singing some songs and playing guitar. Definitely a good place to go

Abridged happy hour menu for food and drinks. Not the best, and not much of a deal, but you cannot beat the location! We tried the coconut shrimp which were crunchy and full of coconut flavor. They were served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Next up was the mozzarella triangles served with a marinara, both were average. Staff was ok and ambiance is shipwreck meets Hooters. Price was a bit high to be considered a happy hour deal, but it is close to the beach in a tourist destination, so all bets are off!
