Steak ‘n Shake

Horrible service. Our server was nowhere to be found we had to ask someone else for a refill. They didnt understand the new app, which concerns me. Fries were bad. 1 star.

The service was so so on the day. Surprising since there was only 2 other people in there. My concern was the cleanliness. The first booth had grape jelly on the floor and my sister stepped in it so we moved and the other booth had greasy finger prints on the wall. Makes you wonder how clean the back of the house is.
Overall the food was pretty decent although the bacon was served cold.

Something is missing. The food isn’t quite as good as it was but I can’t put my finger on what it is. Used to come here a lot but haven’t been here recently. Ordered the spicy fries with sea salt and pepper. Way too much salt.

Fuck Steak ‘n Shake from the get go, it’s always sucked in whatever city I’m in. See yall late night after partiers at Waffle House.
Stopped in from out of town for a late night bite. The coffee took about 20 minutes to come out, and by the time the food was there I was already asking for a to go container. The chili Mac I ordered is currently rioting inside of my jejunum bouncing down the road like a mad scientist, reminding me of why steak and shake can fuck all.

The food is usually decent. It is what it is… A chain burger joint. Décor is a oldies music feel. Staff is a bit slow or distracted with behind the counter shenanigans on occasion, but overall acceptable service.

Only Brandon would sing me happy birthday. Every other employee refused.
Brandon is my fave person now.

Also the fries are real nice.

My first time at a S&S. This location was clean and very busy at 1:00pm. The staff was busy and concerned about my needs. The manager on shift (Eugene) was helpful on a question I had. The food was inexpensive. I and the double three pepper burger with fries and sweet tea. The burger was very good, but I did not care for the shoestring spicy fries, they were overcooked. Corp should look at a larger French Fry.
There are not many places here in Fort Myers that are open ²⁴⁄₇. It does provide a service for those late nighters.
Remember, this is not a 4star high end restaurant, it is a burger and shake joint with a wide selection on its menu.

Worst service ever. Not only did the waitress write the order down wrong, when she repeated it back we corrected her yet she still brought the wrong order to the table. All this after she tried to seat a large party of 5 into a small booth. Never coming back.

We’ve been coming here for years. It’s hit and miss at times. It’s good for decently priced food, especially with a coupon. Today however was the worst experience we’ve ever had here.
The waitress was unfriendly. Screaming baby was very loud so the staff raised the music so loud it was blaring. My family and I got instant headaches, I wanted to leave but we gave it a chance and went to another booth on the other side of the restaurant, better!
Thankfully the manager came over upon seeing us move to another booth and we told her the music was way too loud she promptly turned it down.
Then our food arrived, all of our orders were inaccurate and our utensils were rusty. The manager corrected all of this. The waitress remained unfriendly and unhelpful the entire time.
The nice and accommodating manager saved this experience.
I’m still giving this a 2 star because I’ve consistently been disappointed over time with my order coming out wrong or complacency of the wait staff.
Friendliness and knowledge of your menu is key for better tips, wait staff put in some effort!
As for the cooks, you see what the photos in your menu look like, follow that and don’t swap out substitutes unless asked. And don’t be chinsy to the point that the plate is practically empty.
The friendly manager was stellar, I saw her cleaning, greeting customers, making food, cashing customers out, and much more. Great job!

Consistently decent food: made fresh and very affordable. Staff is always friendly, but routinely very slow with the food and drink service.

For the price, its good. Its cheap.

If there was a way to give this place negative stars I would. My wife and I visited last Friday and the service was atrocious. Manager came by to take our drink and food order then never returned. Had to flag someone down and was told the food had been ready but there was no ticket for it so it just sat there for 20 mins. Finally after our order arrived cold and wrong we sat for another 20 mins with no one stopping by. Mgr comped entire disastrous meal and we just left. Will never be back.

Please don’t waste your time. 2÷08÷14 3:15 pm. Ordered and still waiting for my food at 4:14 pm. Two people have walked out the door and the kitchen is having a party at the customer’s expense. Two managers here that are oblivious to the obvious. Not one manager came and discussed the situation with the patrons walking out. This place needs a turn over of employees.

I came down to visit Fort Myers and went to Steak N Shake for the very first time. I will say that I enjoyed the food and service very much. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, cheese fries, and a white chocolate holiday milkshake, which were all very delicious.
When I sat down, I noticed that the silverware at my table was dirty. The waitress was very courteous and immediately gave me clean ones. She made sure that everything on my part was good, and I definitely appreciate that.
I will certainly come back when I have the chance!

As for Ft. Myers, it is one of the few places open after 12am. We went there after a late discharge from the ER. We were greeted by a nice, tall, young guy. Unlike a friday night (thinking back to my teens here), where we could stumble out of a club and still get service here, this was a Tuesday night, so there was us (still with hospital band in tow), a table to young kids and some exotic dancers who dropped by for a bite.
I hadn’t eaten since 8am the previous morning and was in need of something edible. Luckily amidst the greasy wonder, there were some items. I had a banana chocolate milkshake which hit the spot; with the breakfast of shredded hash browns, two eggs, sausage pattie and a bagel. It went down a treat due to my mode of starvation. The waiter was pleasant, but his main attention went (rightly so) to the strippers with the to-​go orders, there was clearly no competition.

I have experienced better, especially at this location. It’s okay in the sense that they DO try and can help with questions. I’m not a true fan yet, as I’ve only been here a handful of times. We didn’t have this up north (not that I know of)…
I ordered the «NEW!» Jalapeño Crunch Chicken Sandwich. Based on what the menu stated what the toppings were and what it was, I thought I would give it a try.
From the site: «Marinated grilled chicken breast topped with pepperjack cheese, chipotle mayo, fresh salsa and jalapenos, all topped with French’s® French Fried Onions. Served with fries.»
Normally, I’m all over things that have a kick to them. Unfortunately, this wasn’t as (spicy) hot as it was messy. I had to eat it with a knife and fork, so I wouldn’t drip the sauce all over me.
Proof was when it arrived, the fries surrounding the sandwich were soaked in the salsa and mayo combo. Even the bread was soggy. I didn’t complain, as I just chocked it up to maybe it’s how the meal is made.
As a whole, the chicken was grilled right, tasty, and the shoestring fries were not too greasy /​oily.

I Have not been to Steak and Shake for 30 odd years. Many changes but still a great burger and fries. Much more choices.
Staff here was fast and extremely nice. Clean modern but a old classic feel… This was a better deal than five guy burger & fries that I tried a day or so ago. (they suck)
Burger cook to order fries crispy and thin.
I will definitely try them again.

Just a quick note. I came here last week and had an interesting experience.
While I was waiting for my order, I was looking through email on my phone. When the food came, I set the phone down on the table. A little later, I noticed a man standing at the entrance to the restrooms. He seemed to be eyeing my phone. After I noticed him, and after I put my phone back in my pocket, he moved on.
Toward the end of my meal, there was some commotion at the entrance. The same man that was watching me earlier was in some altercation with a teenager. The staff spent a lot of time trying to get the man to leave and he finally did. It wasn’t until after he left that the staff called the police. The staff told me that the man was homeless. If they knew who he was, why didn’t they do something in the half-​hour he was lurking about the place?
