The service was ok, the food nahhh. To be so close to the ocean, the shrimp tasted bland. The shrimp chowder, if you want a potato chowder well I will understand. My husband ended with stomach problems, for all the greasy, fried food

Please don’t eat here. If you want crap tourist fried and frozen but charges you for what you want, this is your place. If you want the real blow your mind seafood experience, try any of the following: Boshamps Docs Oyster Bar Boathouse Landing Stewbys Some are slightly more expensive, Stewbys definitely cheaper but they all will blow your socks off making your time at Floyds a funny joke that you went or a regret you wasted your money.

Best seafood!!! This place served hot and fast, cooked to perfection seafood. The staff was very friendly. They worked together as a team to bust tables for the next customers. This Resturant is also on the beach. Great food, great customer service and great view.

We stumbled upon this little place and enjoyed the food very much. A little pricey but otherwise very comfortable place. No frills though but that was ok by us.

«You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all» is a tired and worn expression first used in 1811.(This, according to one internet source – and we all know how reliable that fount of knowledge is). Regardless, that catch-phrase still rings true today when applied to places along America’s tourist-trap laden seashore resorts, restaurants, and trinket shops. «Floyd’s» is a totally typical seafood restaurant anchoring part of the middle sections of «The Boardwalk» in Fort Walton Beach. The Boardwalk is a(fun) conglomeration of restaurants and bars interspersed with a dab or two of novelty shops(Kitty Hawk Kites likely the most notable of those). Floyd’s restaurant was a bit crowded when we first arrived so we chose to have a drink at the bar and wait while watching the parade of locals and tourists populating the place. Seeing a few empty tables as I glanced around, my first thought was that the restaurant was not too crowded to seat us. So why the wait? In reality,(confirmed by the staff) the tables turned over steadily and the wait was«scheduled» to help the kitchen keep pace with the continuing stream of customers. Actually a good idea because our wait was not that long. As for the food… re-read my opening sentence. The steamed shrimp were cooked properly and seasoned — simply seasoned. The Triggerfish sandwich I had was cooked ok, albeit glistening a bit from butter? oil? off the grill). The roll was barely toasted along the edges(see my photo), the fries so-so. The coleslaw – again, read my opening line, then close your eyes and think of the thousands of places you’ve had the same… fries and slaw, fries and slaw. Yep, been there… et that. Service was relatively prompt and very polite. Prices were fine for a beach bungalow. But there’s nothing noteworthy about Floyds that would lure me back. All-in-all, it was acceptable but that’s the sum of it. Been there, done that, seen it, seen it before, and before, and before that.

My boyfriend and I went there tonight for dinner after reading some of the reviews. The staff was so friendly, we were sat instantly and our server Bobby was fantastic! That is my reasoning for the three stars. We ordered the all you could eat fish and shrimp, and the alligator bites. The bites came out quickly but unfortunately they had no flavor. The sauce they came with is how they were even edible. Then our basket of fish and shrimp came out. It was a large mound of food but it was not good! You can tell that everything is fried in the same grease because it all tastes the same. Flavorless little grease nuggets! All you can eat… more like all you can stomach. The only saving grace is that it was $ 9.99.

We came around 7:30 at night and it wasn’t very busy. Service was good. We ordered fried pickle chips, grilled shrimp, shrimp and corn chowder and grouper tacos. And the verdict is-it is not Stewbys… we give 2 stars for food and 3 for service. The grilled shrimp off the appetizer section was peel and eat. If I had noticed that I may not have ordered them. By the time I got done peeling them my dinner partner was done eating. It was dark in there and I missed a few pieces of shell on a few shrimp. Of course this in no way reflects on the taste of the food. My shrimp were ok. Nothing special above what I can throw in a pot at home. They were fairly firm. I had grilled shrimp at Stewbys the day before so there was no comparison. I would go back to Stewbys for that or the fresh grouper. My partner said his shrimp and corn chowder was good, his grouper tacos were ok, tasteless in the beginning but after squirting the memo on they got better. The rice and beans were left as they were bland. The deep fried pickle chips were lightly battered and served with ranch dressing and were the highlight for me. For us this is a place that we tried and do not need to go back. If we were with a party of people who wanted to go there we would be ok with it. After all there is still a lot of menu to try out.

We came here to grab a drink but we were ignored by the waitress except to sit us in the sun. I could have sat on the beach if I wanted a tan. Looking at the menu we waited for 15 mins and then just got frustrated about being ignored and left. Stuck up its the word in looking for.

So I have no idea why some people are saying the service is slow and the food sucks it’s COMPLETELYFALSE! some of the best seafood I’ve had in quite some time the grouper tacos where crispy and fresh with some kind of tangy sauce it was great! Ordered cheese sticks as an app crunchy outside with gooey cheese in the middle and not to mention a view to die for my suggestion is after eating head over to Pino Gelato Café At the Beach for some ice cream then head out on the beach! I just have one major compliant one thing that makes it fall short no free wifi come on guys put just a free network for guests and I guaranteed people will be tweeting and Facebooking their meals therefore giving you guys even more publicity! For people’s who are hesitating with the 3 star review fear not Floyd’s has some excellent food!!!

Went for lunch. Service was awful. Food was very overpriced and not very good. They were out of coconut shrimp… at a shrimp place. Very disappointed — will not be back.

The food was great and so was the service! I had the«Coco Loco Shrimp.» It was just as described and so fresh. The kids meals are a decent size also. I highly recommend this place especially if you have kids.

All you can eat popcorn shrimp and fish is well worth the wait. We get this every year that we are here for vacation. We also get fried pickles as an appetizer and they are excellent as well.

I love this place! First, it has the best view in all of FWB. You simply can’t beat sitting on a waterfront deck watching the surf roll in as you eat fresh seafood. The place has your typical fish shack décor, without being dirty or run down – just enough artifacts to give you a real beach feel without being overdone. They have arranged the outdoor dining in such a way that it maximizes the view and ocean breeze. For lunch we had the alligator bites and the grouper basket. The baskets were reasonably priced and the portion size was just right. There was plenty of seafood in the basket as opposed to many of the FWB establishments that tend to load their baskets with french fries and hush puppies, with a few fish pieces at best on top. This basket was priced the same(14.95) yet had double or triple the amount of other establishments. Even better was how fresh it was. The grouper just melts in your mouth, and the alligator bites were fantastic. The shrimp is also pretty good. The service was impeccable. If you want great food, friendly service in a casual setting, i highly recommend Floyd’s.

Not awful and not good. It’s one of those«the view is good» places. I’ve never had anything here that has perked up my tastebuds or that has made me want to return. I’m hoping to talk this one off of our list, next year. I got a fish sandwich — it was fine. But, the cole slaw? Puke inducing. It was just drowning in a ranch sauce. The fries were cold and soggy. Nothing special here, folks.

Let’s pretend that I wasn’t sick for 4 days after eating here. if that were the case, I would have given this place 3 stars, because I’m nice. Pre-sick Melanie had the following thoughts… — this place is a tourist trap — this place is extremely overpriced — the food is mediocre, but passable(if it was cheaper) — the server and bartender were nice — look, the beach is pretty! But then I woke up around 5 in the morning with intense stomach cramps. I spent the following 4 days with what was clearly food poisoning. I’ll spare you the details, but I’m sure you can imagine. I’m not saying Floyd’s gave me food poisoning(it could have been something else I ate), but I am saying I will NEVER go there again(I don’t think pre-sick Melanie would have gone there again either). And I’ll be steering clear of fried shrimp in general for a good long while. Don’t risk it: go somewhere else!
