The Swamp

Had such a great time coming here on a Friday, that we decided to come back on a Sunday after a crappy time at Nightown. I saw a Cali review who didn’t like how the south does it with casual dress? Rednecks? 80s-​90s cover band? Military sausage fest? Damn right that’s what I like! And very fitting for our Texas bachelorette group.
The rock cover band was great. I think we were the only ones singing along to Lit as the young’ns probably didn’t have a clue who they were. Apparently they have foam parties on Thursdays and Sundays at 12:30am — we had so much FUN getting friendly with the crowd. I even got into an impromptu twerk battle with some random guy. He was pretty good, but I won, teehee.
No cover for the ladies, cheap drinks, attentive bartenders, and casual feel to match Destin’s vibe. My friends especially enjoyed getting drinks from Mr. «hot» Sauce bartender!
Tips: if going for the foam party, pack your belongings in a ziploc bag and have towels waiting in the car — it’s gonna get wet!

Last time I wrote a review for this place, I got some crazy racist hate mail from (presumably someone associated with the business) accusing me of having a «sideways vagina.» Now that is something that I have never had the pleasure of hearing about until I moved to the oh so classy and cosmopolitan Redneck Rivera. I guess their interpretation is that, since Asians have slanty eyes, then somehow, it would make sense if our VAGINAS are also SLANTY LIKE OUR EYES, thus making them horizontal, and in other words, «sideways.» I hate to disappoint you fellas, but my vagina, last time I checked, is vertical. But you may still love it.
Now, on to the review.
I came here for comedy night on Sunday and it was really good! if you get here before a certain time, maybe 8pm? It’s free admission, otherwise I think they charge $ 10. One drink minimum. Drinks are like $ 10. Seeing how I had a fitness test the next day, I opted to take it easy with a bucket of alcohol. Some sugary drink that will give you a heart attack. But it was good value. Shit! The first comedian kind of sucked. And let’s just say, there’s NOTHING worse than a bad comedian when you are in person because it’s just really AWKWARD. It’s like, trying to get along with your co-​workers or kiss your boss’s ass. Their jokes are not funny, but you laugh anyway to make them feel good, except you are not getting paid for any of this shit. Thank god for alcohol.
The main act though, was hilarious. He was some dude from the USAF and had interesting and funny jokes. I was surprised at the quality of the comedian and am thoroughly impressed. $ 10 and 3 hours well spent on a bucket of alcohol and some good laughs. Perfect Sunday Funday ending.
