My husband and I have been going to the Grill Room for a couple of years now. It is only open during golf season and they offer a special menu only on Tuesday(Mexican) and Friday nights. Friday night they feature all you can eat fish and my favorite, prime rib. The food is delicious. The service is excellent, the kind of place where the servers remember your name and favorite drink. The atmosphere is cozy inside, somewhat like a lodge. They have added outside seating with a huge awning and a lovely view. All in all, great. It is getting more and more crowded so I suggest a reservation if you want the first seating on Friday night.

The Grill Room is located inside the Autumn Ridge country club. I don’t know how long they have been open, but recently they placed signs up and down Old Auburn Rd. advertising that it was open to the public — not just club members. They are open M, F, Sat 5 — 9 pm and Sunday for a breakfast buffet from 8 – 2. We finally decided to go last night, which was Mexican night in addition to their regular menu. There was a group of 5 of us, and there were only a few tables occupied when we arrived at 6:30. The atmosphere is cozy with soft lighting, wood and granite. There are 4 big screen TV’s which I love, because if you haven’t noticed from my previous reviews, I love to eat and watch sports or a movie at the same time(heaven). We ordered the fried green beans and boneless wings as appetizers. Both came out quickly and were very good. I have never had fried green beans before, so I have nothing to compare them to, but these tasted really good — the breading was perfect. I love the way you order a salad here. They give you an order form and you circle the things you want on your salad — yea! No more picking stuff off my salad — you could really put anything on it you wanted. The salads were large, too. I got one of the Mexican dishes that were on special — they had about 8 of them and all included rice and beans. The meat inside my burrito had a good flavor; you could tell it was quality beef. Others got the fish and chips(HUGE portion of wonderful fish), breaded tenderloin(nothing fantastic but good) and a bowl of chili(not too spicey, good flavor). The service was wonderful, but then again it was not too busy. Even though I am the only one that ordered a Mexican special, the whole table received chips and salsa, and they refilled our baskets about 4 times! We will definately go back. It is not a large menu, but it is a cosy place that is close to home with good food and service. I almost didn’t write this review as I don’t want a ton of people discovering this gem and making it too busy :)
