All I ever get here is there massive juicy succulent mouth watering earth shattering palette dripping black dog hamburger. Caution it will fill you up big time. Wifi is really slow unfortunately. Might as well not have wifi. Bathroom are not the best Just go enjoy amazing food and it’s worth it.

Not worth the wait. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon(April 30 about 2) for a burger and rings while running some errands. Crowd was light with three tables and a few people at the bar. Ordered two burgers and a basket of rings. The place started filling up and we waited. Waitress came by the table once, twice, three, four times and said she would check on our order. Finally, after a 40 minute wait the food arrived. Many tables and a large group that came after us were served and almost finished before our food was delivered. Food was fair. Burgers were good meat and toppings but onion buns were dry and stale. Onion rings were room temp, greasy and had no flavor. We won’t be back.

Wow… I don’t think I have ever given a restaurant a one star rating… but this place deserved it. We were in the mood for a beer and burger. Just that kind of day. Did some checking, and saw Black Dog Pub. Reviews were kind of mixed, but the burger pictures looked good. So we decided to give it a shot. As we were walking up to the door a lady was being carried out by her companion. She had obviously had too much to drink. Interesting… it was only 8:30 at night. Kinda early for that but… whatever. Walked in — typical bar scene. Saw an empty table and grabbed it. Waitress came right over with menus, and pointed out the beers on draft. Good selection. I ordered a sample of one; my husband ordered his. Few minutes later she comes back with two beers — no sample. Ok… no biggie. I’ll give it a try. Sipped a few times — didn’t like it. My husband asked her to take it away and bring another one — promptly replaced. She took our burger order. Meanwhile the bar scene got interesting. Two men at the bar decided to argue over whether or not you could smoke a «vape» cigarette inside. On the other side a group was yelling to friends across the bar… obviously they had had a few too many. Burger arrived — no French fries. Back to the kitchen to order fries… they arrived five minutes later. Piping hot… decent. The only bright spot was indeed the burger. Black dog burger — fantastic. Half pound of deliciousness. Bill came — we were charged for both beers. Waitress said she tried to get it removed… no luck. We disagreed — she went away and came back with the first beer charged as a «sample» for $ 2.25. I have NEVER been charged for a beer I didn’t like… and definitely have never been charged for a sample. She could tell we weren’t happy… and we told her we would not be back. As we were leaving yet another female patron was being carried out by her companions. Low class joint… The burger was not worth the pain. We will never go back. I’d avoid the place.

In from out of town and found this place on our drive. Well worth the stop! Had the ribs, black dog burger and the apple pie. All out of this world and very reasonably priced. Definitely coming back when we’re back in town!

From out of town and stopped in after a long drive before a work training. Got the speciality luce fresco pizza with thin crust. Great flavor and balanced pizza. Got a side of the traditional sauce and it was very good, definitely want to try a pizza with that next time. The server was attentive and friendly while still laid back. Asked for the remaining pizza to go and one more round and went for a smoke outside while waiting. Oddly enough while outside someone took the remaining pizza. The server noticed and doubled checked if that was our plan. When she was told it was not, she was quick to respond. She intervene calmly and quickly, got with the manager, and told the other table they were buying our round. The manager quickly and personable checked in and apologized. Definitely not the standard behavior here. They talked to other other table who also apologized. An odd and possibly offensive event that was managed professionally and left me with a good feeling and a peaceable parting with the other table. If the staff could be rated it would be 5 stars. I’m very picky with ratings and only give 5 stars when something is memorably excellent and standard setting. The crowd is diverse, as was the music and the tv placement. You could watch a game, sit at the bar, or eat and talk with friends and feel at place either way. Next time I’m back will definitely stop here.

As always, wife wrote this for Facebook friends. Somewhere around 12 years ago my father took Scott and I to the Black Dog Pub on Covington Rd. in Fort Wayne for bar-b-que ribs. During that visit we found the place to be intolerably noisy with several televisions blasting varying sporting events throughout the restaurant, service was just so-so and the too-chewy, fatty, tasteless ribs were not worth the trip. We vowed never to return. However, we’ve since heard that things had gotten better there so today we gave them the opportunity for redemption. And redeem themselves they did! Before we even reached the door, the aroma of wood-smoked meats greeted our senses and it became more inviting once we were inside. The same televisions were broadcasting sports of all nature but with muted sound, giving patrons the luxury of speaking in normal tones rather than shouting to be heard. We had barely gotten seated when our server appeared tableside to greet us and offer beverages. Although Black Dog offers a vast array of sandwiches, wraps, salads, appetizers and entrees we were already hooked on the idea of something smoked. We decided on a Hawg Wing Basket and a Rib Basket. Each came with an order of fries and a side of slaw. The Hawg Wings are small pork shanks that possess more meat than their tiny bones should be allowed to handle and the ribs came 4 bones to a basket. Both were fall-off-the-bone tender with just enough bar-b-que sauce to enhance their mild smoky goodness and the«wings» displayed that classic hardwood-smoked bark. Needless to say, we were glad to have given this establishment another chance and we suggest that you do the same. We’re full, we’re happy, and we’ll most likely be back. FYI: Full bar service is available. Smoking is prohibited. Children are allowed in the family room. For the heartier appetite, full and half racks of ribs are available in the full entrée section of the menu.

Food was fine, but service was horrible. I asked for a menu and a water to start. I got the menu but my water was ignored while the bartender took and filled other orders.

I’m from out of town. Lived in NJ, GA, KS, VA, Boston, and PA. The Black Dog was recommended by a friend locally. Last time I came here after dinner for a drink, a lady was trying to sell me on the menu. So on my second visit I decided to come for dinner. I ordered the Wednesday all u can eat special and really enjoyed it. Went well with the Busted Knuckle beer from the tap. I will make this a stop every time I visit. Great staff and customer interaction. Thanks!

I love the Black Dog Pub! I miss living on the SW side, I was a regular on Friday nights. The food is wonderful; fish taco’s(Superb), pizza is great, wings are AWESOME, and the wraps. I’ve never met an appetizer there I didn’t like. The beer menu is huge & ever changing, the bartenders & servers are always friendly & make you feel right at home. Really is a diamond in the rough!

The service was great. Had wings, then had terrible heartburn which was my fault. But the diarrhea however, was their fault. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good racist joke or two, heard plenty of those. All in all good spot.

I’m a big fan of this place. They have a good beer selection. The atmosphere is nice, even when its noisy it’s never overwhelming, and I like that they have an outdoor seating area. The pizza(sans cheese) is good. Last time I went I had some veggie wrap thing, and it was the bees knees.

It’s a bit of a wait… but totally worth it! The pizza has the best crust I’ve ever had. Barbecue chicken? Spicy… yet amazing. Big dog? So good. Service? Outstanding. Worth the visit!

Gave this place another shot. Disappointed again. Evidently their idea of BBQ chicken is plain grilled chicken and a bottle of BBQ sauce But the real joke here is their beer menu. They seem to be proud of all the beer they have on tap. And to be fair, it is a good selection. But the physical menu itself(meaning the piece of paper that lists their beers that’s covered with old food and scribbles and notes about what they don’t have anymore and hasn’t been replaced since they put their new tap system in) is disgusting. Really guys? I grabbed one from the next table and it’s in the same condition. They could have something good there, but the lack of attention to details tells me that they never will.
