I’ve eaten lunch here several times in the past several years and while the food was good, it never came off as exceptional. However in January of 2016 I ate dinner there and was thoroughly impressed. Both my salad and the trout special were very good, to the point of memorable. in the past I’ve felt some of the offerings were conjured up to look good on a menu with so-so gastronomical success when it came to actually eating them. Everyone else in our party of 6 raved about their meal as well. While being located in a strip mall doesn’t exactly exude fine dining, once inside you never have the feeling a Planet Fitness is nearby. I would definitely go back.

I’m never disappointed when I head out to catablu grille. The menu is always pleasing, the service is wonderful and the libations are even better. I almost always have the chopped Apple salad and they do amazing things with a filet as a main course. The head bartenders martinis kills are on point and he really has a way of making his guests feel at home. Good food is hard to come by in Fort Wayne, so GREAT food should be recognized and this place has it down.

With The Oyster Bar this is my favorite in Fort Wayne. Maybe I like the food better here but nothing beats the Oyster Bar ambiance. I love going to Catablu for lunch with friends everything is delicious, healthy and affordable! Dinner gets busier and sometimes service gets a little slow but the menu offers great choice and I have never been disappointed.

The place looks good and clean. The staff are very knowledgeable of their menu. I enjoyed the grilled filet mignon. The meat was cooked and seasoned very well. I would definitely go back.

Catablu is an all around winner. Food is always delicious and menu offers welcomed changes throughout the year. Love their weekly specials especially the Pad Thai special on Tuesdays which we shared tonight and it was dynamite. The ambiance and atmosphere is extremely well done despite being located in a strip mall… great patio four outdoor dining during the warmer nights. I highly recommend the pad thai, best calamari in fort wayne, burger, espresso martini, key lime pie… list goes on. Staff is always friendly, always enjoy Trent’s company at the bar and good strong drinks. Highly recommend this spot.

Catablu is in my mind no doubt that best modern American restaurant in Fort Wayne. The owners, Mike and Maureen Catalogna, have created a hip establishment that dishes out high quality dishes and plates that won’t break your budget. The menu changes every season to highlight seasonal, fresh ingredients and Chef Tony does a tremendous job of taking those ingredients and melding flavors together to create satisfying, clean dishes. Most of the dishes are gluten free and some vegan. They comply with any special request when ordering. The wait staff and food runners are friendly and make your dining experience pleasurable. If you haven’t been, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Stopped in at the bar after a recommendation from a friend. My wife and I are new to the area, and are so glad we stopped in to Catablu! First, the service(at least at the bar) is top notch. Trent took care of us right away, made recommendations, and was beyond friendly. I had a stout recommended by Trent(which was great), and my wife had a glass of wine(though she soon had martini envy). Then the lettuce wraps came — they were delicious! Main course — I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries, the wife had the short rib pasta — both were great. Overall, terrific ambiance, especially for a nicer spot located in a strip mall. The people were friendly, the food and drinks were tasty, and we will return for round 2!

I stopped in for dinner around 6pm, Outside seating was full, but the inside atmosphere is excellent. The complimentary olive tapenade was excellent, but the fried flat bread it came was greasy. The swordfish was the special, but I went with the walleye pike entrée, and started with a chopped kale salad. The salad had a little heavy with a creamy cheddar cheese, but still excellent. The fish was breaded, and a little greasy, but I enjoyed it. I’ll stop here again, but a little later in the evening. I’d recommend giving it a try.

I’m so happy this place was recommended to us, because I had no idea it even existed here in Fort Wayne. Everything about it is 5 stars, and it’s the kind of place I think Fort Wayne needs a little more of. The atmosphere and service are impeccable. It’s trendy, but still comfortable on the inside; you’ll need to dress nicer, but you can still get away with a pair of nice jeans. The staff is extremely accommodating(almost a little too much sometimes — returning every 2 minutes to refill water, etc.) and pleasant. We started off with the green pea falafel appetizer, which included falafel balls and two kinds of dipping sauces, one that was beet-based and another that had tahini in it. Both sauces were plentiful, unique and complimented not only the falafel, but also each other. My only gripe was that the falafel balls were very small. For our entrees, I had the 5 spiced tuna and my boyfriend had their special for the night, which was sea bass. My tuna and all of its sides were some of the best items I have eaten since living in Fort Wayne. My tuna was served exactly how I ordered it(medium-rare) and had a perfect sear on it. The rub wasn’t overpowering, which was great considering the accompaniments had such stand-out flavors. The pickled cucumbers were bright and acidic, but it was the garlic broccolini and wasabi purple potato salad that were the best. The garlic broccolini was perfectly cooked(not mushy) and seasoned, and the potato salad had so many unexpected flavors! It was creamy, but somehow still light. My boyfriend’s sea bass was also wonderful, but not as good as my tuna. We decided to have dessert, and did a little happy dance when we saw they had beignets. Catablu gives you a large portion of bite-sized beignets with a few different dipping sauces(the raspberry is the best!) should you wish to dip. I think we may even go back for some cocktails and beignets in the future! Honestly, I can’t wait to go back, and I hope everything else we try is just as stellar!

Was craving Indian but the place was closed. Weird, closed on a Tuesday. Anyway, a quick recovery and walk to the other side of the strip mall for Catablu. Nice place with a cool, modern décor. I later learned the old location was more electic and homey. I like the menu. Good options without going crazy. I’m imagining with all the veg/vegan options that this place is frequented often by those folks. I started with the chicken and white bean soup which was solid — perhaps a bit over salted but still good. Main course was the simply prepared petite filet. It came with a hash of brussel sprouts, sweet potato, parsnip and was absolutely devine. The filet was well prepared but it maybe the first time I’ve been blown away by the veg. Solid service and good value.

where to begin. This time I’ll start with the good. It will only take a second. The atmosphere is nice. I like the movie quote banner above the bar. It was a cool touch. Ok so on the the bad. Service was slow and not attentive. Now in there defense there was a party of 20 dinning at the same time as me so I’m sure that had something to do with it. My steak was ok at best. I’ve had better, hell I’ve made better. The burger was good but once again for $ 15 it better be the best damn burger I have ever had. Should have gone to 5 Guys. Now the real complaint. They advertise hand cut fries, which apparently come with every meal in a fine dinning restaurant. French fries, which were about the oldest coldest fries I have ever ate. I’m sure they were Fresh Cut in 1999 when the were cut and cooked. This was just a disappointment. For and $ 80 dinner for two, it better be epic not something I could have pulled off on my own for $ 20 with a trip to the grocery store. French fries and fine dinning. Get outta here. The best way I can describe my steak… dense and flat. If a dry age steak tastes this flat than ill buy one from the grocery and do it my self next time.
