David’s Bridal

I’m really upset with the treatment we had at David’s Bridal. We went in on a Saturday morning to look for both a wedding dress for my sisters wedding and for bridesmaid dresses. My sister is a tomboy. She doesn’t like to shop (even if it’s for her wedding! Lol), so we wanted to get both dresses picked out so that portion of the wedding done. As soon as we walked in we were given a consultant. The first words out of her mouth was that they had a very busy day and that there were a ton of appointments. That should of been our first clue to how the day was going to go. She asked my sister her style, she explained what she was looking for and not looking for. After about 10 dresses my sister drastically changed her mind. No big deal. Right? It’s HER day. The consultant got very frustrated. You could tell she wanted to get us in and out as soon as possible. She was rushing us. When I told her to go ahead and pick some dresses out, she came back with the most hideous, unflattering, grandma style dresses I’ve ever seen. My sister is 24, not 60! It was terrible. When my sister found the dress she wanted it was BEAUTIFUL. The consultant told her and my mom that it only came in a size 8, which I thought was weird. An 8 would not fit my sister, so we went back to looking. Finally my sister asked another consultant about the dress she loved. It in deed come in bigger sizes. We were all LIVID. Why did she tell her that they couldn’t get a size bigger than an 8? To this day we have no idea. When it came to the bridesmaid dresses, she was equally bad. She didn’t basically came up missing during this time and another consultant who was already helping a group stepped in and answered our questions. All in all, I’m disappointed with how our David’s Bridal consultant treated my sister, myself and my mom. This was suppose to be a great day for my sister and she left frustrated and upset. Don’t get me wrong, she was ecstatic that she found her dress, but after going through all that it was exhausting.

I hadad excellent service for my recent visit for my wedding and before for a friend’s wedding. The ladies were very welcoming and friendly. They took the time to listen to what I liked and disliked in dresses. Other places continued to pull dresses that I specifically said I did not like.

The manager contacted me tonight after hearing about my review on here and apologized for the veil fiasco. She offered a refund, but my seamstress has already taken the veils apart and attached the lace to my dress, so that really wasn’t an option anymore.

I bought my dress at Patty’s Bridal in Quincy Michigan… awesome place! Then I went to David’s to take a gander at the bridesmaid’s dresses to get an idea and some pricing. The selection was kind of underwhelming for the color I wanted which was Pewter. I think they’re prices are competitive but industry wide I think bridesmaids dresses are too expensive. Looking at their wedding gowns, everything looked so generic in my opinion. And last year I bought a bridesmaids dress there for a wedding and when I picked it up it was all wrinkled! Horrible service, after I pay $ 130 for a dress they should at least steam press it! Idiots.

This store is good to go to if you are simply looking for product, not service. I have dealt with this particular store for two different weddings and have had similar experience for both. The staff is not very friendly and often seem rushed and only looking to get to their bottom line. (ie, money.) The selection of items is fairly decent and if you know what you want or what you are looking for it could work for you.
I have been in many times to try on dresses and only once have I ever been able to get an actual consultant to assist us with searching for dresses and bringing them to the fitting room. We were on our own. When in for a final decision and purchase our consultant was very visibly agitated… trying to rush us through the process and even trying to hurry our purchase by suggesting we by dresses that didn’t fit. I have even witnessed consultants making ill-​mannered comments about the weight of one plus-​sized bride.
I cannot say much against the selection of gowns & dresses… as they do have a decent selection and what they don’t have in store they can generally order. However, the service and attitude topped with the inflated prices isn’t worth it in my opinion.
