Love this shop, they have a great staff! Best cold brew I have ever had, definitely stop in at this place when I find myself in Ft. Worth, definitely worth checking out!

Been here twice in town visiting my parents from Houston for the week. Yesterday, I ordered an iced coffee(cold brew) and my girlfriend ordered the same but with a shot of espresso, which is a pretty normal at the coffee shops we frequent(all independent). The guy yesterday recommended they just add more cold brew concentrate(instead of adding the shot) and rather than create a stir, she said okay, ‘we’ll try it your way.‘ Went back today, tried ordering the same thing and again they suggested the concentrate instead of the shot. I said, ‘we tried that yesterday, and it’s not the same.’ Can we have it with a shot in it? The barista asked his boss I guess to his left(haha) and the man(large, hefty man, orange dreads), said ‘we don’t add hot to cold’ and wouldn’t serve us the drink. I guess if we were trying to order a freaking caramel macchiato like they sell at Starbucks, I understand, but I’m just not sure why they wouldn’t make us the drink. It’s pretty easy. Add the shot, add some ice, then the iced coffee. Oh well. I was really hoping we’d finally found an independent coffee house here. Guess we’ll just tough it out ’til we’re back in a city with lots of independent coffee shops. It seems like we encountered a big fish in a small pond. I wish these guys had more competition around town…

Seriously not very friendly and not very good. Given I did try something new as in hemp milk in my latte but doubtful it could make coffee that bad. Plus didn’t ask that much of the barista and they couldn’t fulfill my request. Pretty poor all the way around. Shocked it has as high of reviews as it does. Big open space which is nice but there is much better coffee out there. Seriously would almost go to Starbucks over it and I don’t go to Starbucks. Haha. anyways if you do try don’t get the latte with hemp milk and don’t expect a friendly helpful staff and your good maybe

Personally, I would give Avoca Coffee an «A-OK» rating, instead of a «Yay! I’m a fan» rating. I’m rating it 4-stars(Yay! I’m a fan), because I didn’t notice anything gross and the customer service was average. The reason I would(personally) rate Avoca Coffee a tad lower on the scale is that I’m in my early 30s and I’m not a college student. Avoca Coffee has a college student vibe to it. It’s a hip establishment. The customer service that I’ve received the two times I have gone there was comparable to Starbucks’ customer service. «Can I take your order? Anything else? What is your name? Here’s your total. Stephanie, here’s your coffee!» There are two(unisex) restrooms, that I saw. One is currently being renovated. Oh, maybe you want to know how the actual coffee was. The first time that I visited, I got a vanilla latte. I’m not a coffee connoisseur, so all I can really say was that it tasted good and the foam(and stuff) had a pretty design, before I drank it. Today, I got their«house coffee.» I was more there to have a place to read a book and escape work for a bit. Their house coffee is… house coffee? My reviews of coffee shops will usually put more focus on cleanliness and customer service stuff, ’cause unless the coffee is horrible — I won’t really notice.

I came here when visiting town for some craft coffee. This place had a nice ambiance inside. More importantly, the coffee and food is great. I had a cappuccino, which had the exact right amount of foam(not too much). I also ordered an apricot/peach bundt cake slice that was homemade, and wow, it was so tasty! Definitely recommend.

Such a friendly place! They make it a point to get to know you here. Sometimes they take a little longer than the Starbucks or other chain coffee shop, but this is craft coffee, it is worth the wait. Perfect spot to do a little computer work or spend some down time. Enjoy!

The BEST Dirty Chai Latte I have ever had! I love how they top it off with cinnamon! I order mine made with hemp milk because of dietary restrictions. Other coffee houses substitute it with Almond milk but the hemp milk was so good that is the way I prefer it now. These guys know what they are doing!

Being from Indianapolis I can’t compare to other Fort Worth coffee shops. On the plus side, there is a lot of seating and a variety of table types. I ordered a mocha. It had too much chocolate for my taste. I really couldn’t taste the espresso, which is sad. I’d give it another try and order a plain latte instead.

I would like to start out by saying the coffee is absolutely delicious, best cup of coffee I think I’ve ever had, which is the only reason I keep coming back. In saying this, there are a few things(in my opinion) that need improvement. 1. The coffee itself isn’t a terrible price considering the quality, however, it seems that I always get jipped because they leave a quarter of the already small cup(the only size available) unfilled, even when I don’t ask for creamer room. To add onto the disappointment, if you decide to get a refill, you only get a 10% discount which is only about 20 cents. I mean. Come on guys. 2. Barely any outlets unless you sit on the far right wall, but more than likely you won’t be lucky enough to get one of these seats because it seems they’re always occupied. Guys, it’s 2016. Get some more outlets. 3. Every time I’m here, it seems that there’s always left over trash and cups on the tables. I understand this isn’t entirely their fault, but it wouldn’t hurt to go around every once in awhile and pick it up a little! Other than that, the baristas are extremely friendly and get your order out fast, which is nice. And like I stated before, best damn coffee around. Try it out, but be aware that if you come on a weekend, don’t even attempt to bring your laptop.

Coffee: 5. Ordered double espresso since I heard they roast their beans on site. Well prepared espresso, served with sparkling water as it should. Not bitter, delicious sweet espresso Service: 5. So friendly. He explained how ideal time for espresso to be consumed is between 15 to 40 seconds of brewing. After that things settle and becomes more bitter. He wasn’t bossy about it, just wanted to educate. He was friendly, had a big beard. wish I got his name. Seems like they have a lot of regulars just from standing in line. As I finished the drink, somebody asked me how the espresso was, I said good, not bitter, sweet and flavorful. Then he said, ‘good I did my job right.’ Turns out Matt works as the roaster, he seemed very friendly and cared about his role. I liked that everybody is so genuinely down to earth and friendly. Seating: Mix of couch, tables, study table with plenty of plugs. A lot of sunlight coming in the store. Wifi: Super fast. Went to get some work done for couple hours. Great place. Parking was tight, but there were plenty of parking around the area with the short walk. All in all, a great find, to my surprise, in Fort Worth. I’ll make sure to stop by next time I’m in the area.

Lovely atmosphere. Comfortable seating and tables with WiFi of course. The coffee is organic and delicious. The syrups are made from scratch and organic as well. My favorite is the New Orleans with vanilla. We also tried a cappuccino, chai latte, and vanilla latte. Our group gave the lattes 3 out of 5 stars. It was slightly bland. My sister had the chai and said the powder on top is an overkill. Overall, great place to get some work done and relax. It is in a very hipster area. There is great shops and restaurants surrounding.

Easily the best coffeeshop in Fort Worth. If you’re a coffee snob it’s the place for you, but you don’t have to be an aficianado to appreciate the wonderful coffee, fun music, and comfortable ambiance. They’ve got locally made bakery snacks, the espresso and house coffee can’t be beat, and the atmosphere is great. Honestly can’t think of a way to improve this place! Thanks Jimmy, Garold, Peter, Chelsea, and crew!

Avoca is definitely my favorite coffee shop in Ft. Worth. There is much more seating that Buon Giorno over on the other side of the interstate and the coffee is much better. The ambiance of the joint is really awesome because there is a mixture of both tables and couches so there are all kinds of people lounging about, chatting, working, studying, and making art. The service is great and team is very friendly. I have never had an impolite barista and they try to put a smile on your face when you are ordering. I really enjoy their mocha as they make it with little chocolate chunks and little pieces of salt(i think) which adds a nice contrast to the sweetness of the drink. Coffee here is very pleasant and they have their own blend of beans. Their espresso is very dark and is accompanied with a little glass of sparkling water to cleanse your palette. I will caution you that it can be difficult to find parking or even seating in the middle of the day on a Saturday because it is easily the most popular coffee shop in Ft. Worth. Go Horned Frogs. Shameless TCU plug as we are in Ft. Worth.

Where can I high quality coffee from a local shop in Fort Worth? If you had asked me 3 – 4 years ago I would’ve looked at you like«wha?!» But this place is awesome! We were visiting for a friend’s wedding and looking for some amazing local brews(alcoholic and non). When we realized alcoholic was out of the question(It was 11 am in a Friday), we headed to avoca instead. Hubs had a standard drip coffee and I went all out with my usually– dirty chai with almond milk… Except they didn’t have almond milk The dairy alternative selection is limited to Soy and Hemp, which I’m unfortunately not a fan of. I sucked it up and went for Soy. Surprisingly I wasn’t too disappointed. The biggest downside to the experience was the lack of almond milk(I know, first world problems) and the cinnamon/clove overkill on the Chai. We’ll be back.

I go to Avoca often on Wednesday mornings to get a chunk of my work taken care of! You know. super important things like facebooking! I really enjoy the chill atmosphere here and the New Orleans Cold Brew particularly, which is served up with a simple syrup. I get the same thing every single time, although I am a creature of habit, i’ll admit! Pastries are pretty tasty too, and I’ve sampled a few of those. There is plenty of working space, but it gets crowded fast! Individual tables, comfy chairs, and long family style tables that you can share with other locals if you’re not shy. Most are equipped with outlets if you need to charge that PC or Macbook up. The baristas are always super friendly in the hippiest of ways, which jives with my personal style. The only thing that bugs me is two out of three times i’ve been here, the tables i’ve sat at have been kind of dirty with straw wrappers and coffee spills. Accidents happen for sure, but it only takes a sec for the customer to wipe it up, or for an employee to make a sweep and check around for messes. I’ll go back because who wants to skip Avoca coffee? I mean, it is amazing after all! I’ll just continue to carry baby-wipes(good thing I’m a mom!) to pick up after others! Oh and PS: Everyone in here seems to be super chatty and the sounds carries. So, I always carry headphones to put on some quiet music to drown out the sound of the other Avoca lovers.

Great coffee, with a good selection of roasts that are done in-house. But the problem is that there is only a limited snacking menu consisting of some cake or two and maybe some boring scones. If you don’t mind coming just for coffee, then this place will work fine. But if you’re wanting something to go with your coffee that’s not 100% carbs and/or sugar, then you’re out of luck. But at least I got the impression that you can bring food from the outside, such as from Nonna Tata almost across the street. Plenty of games to choose from to play — but luckily someone allowed us to use a great chess board that they had brought in. Seating is ample and plenty — with different types of tables, some with plugs, and even sofas for those who do not need to study but just read a good book. The space caters to different types of crowd. A plus. Parking lot is small and felt crowded as there are sometimes several large pick-up trucks taking up the space. Welcome to Texas.

What can I say about Avoca? Ever since moving back from Nashville I have been trying to find a great local coffee place similar to my love, Bongo Java. I think Avoca is the closest I’ve come to that, so that’s a good thing and a bad thing! Albeit a bit pricier than Starbucks, I imagine I’m paying for real ingredients and the heart and soul of the staff going into my chai latte. Haha. Honestly, though, they make a great — different — chai that is not overwhelming like that Starbucks shit. Everyone is incredibly friendly and I can’t wait until it cools down some more because either their a/c is shit or they just like to keep it hot and humid. Blah. But I would rather stand in the humid air for my awesome dirty chai than any other option. Because of the way they make the drinks it is sloooooowwww. This is not a quick grab and go kind of coffee place. It’s really intended for people to hang out and study, or if you’re not in a hurry. So keep that in mind!

Avoca could definitely be my coffee spot whenever I’m on the Fort Worth side of DFW! I’ve passed by it so many times when I’m down on Magnolia, but never went in until last week. This place is much bigger than your average café. There’s plenty of seating outside, and when you enter, the seating area is huge… filled with table and chairs, as well as soft lounging chairs as well. The barista was very helpful and explained to us what was good/bad, etc. I ordered a soy latte and promptly found an open table in the large dimly lit room. The vibe of the place was like your normal café… kind of laid back and relaxed. I really liked the décor. There was a lot of artwork… paintings as well as nice black and white photos. The old school stereo system complete with a 8 track player and everything was a nice touch that kind of symbolized the flavor that they were shooting for. I finally got my latte, and it was worth the wait! The latte had just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. It was visually and tastefully appealing! Avoca is the perfect spot to post up and do work, relax, or chat with your friends. The spacious seating area combined with the décor, the laid back vibe, and especially the good coffee make this a spot that I will frequent from now on.

My boyfriend really wanted to come here because we’re always looking for good places to buy coffee from. We came early on a Sunday morning to try out their coffee and hopefully buy some to take back to make at home. They make a stellar cappuccino which I ordered, and he just got a medium roast drip coffee. They also sell these«pig-in-a-blanket» things but instead use bagel dough. So good! We were not at all disappointed. and the coffee shop itself is so cute and quaint. It was really relaxing to sip coffee there. Free Wi-Fi, and I a lot of people working, studying, researching on their laptops/tablets. I want to go back and we’ll keep buying their grounds to make at home too!

This is one of my new favorite places to study in Fort Worth. The wifi is fast and free — no password required. I love the small tables and cushioned single booth chairs along with plugs right next to them; they’re super comfy and made for studying. They have 4 black leathered couches; 2 of the couches can sit up to four people each. If you’re going in a big group, there’s a long table that can sit up to 9 people. Nice wooden benches are located outside of the shop, which are perfect for car watching and sitting through sunrise/sunset. There is limited parking outside, so overflow will need to resort to street parking. The baristas are friendly, and said good morning when I ran into some of them in the parking lot. Sometimes the baristas will do rounds and ask if we’re doing okay and whether things are tasting good. I love the latte art! My morning is 99.9% better with my warm cup of coffee. I plan to stop by often since it’s so close to the Plaza Medical Center on my way to work.

One of my favorite places to study or just chill with friends. The environment is great — well-lit with natural lighting, paintings by talented locals that are changed periodically, cute terrarium décor, and comfy eclectic furnishings and seating with plenty of outlets if you need to get work done. Bring headphones though if you need quiet spaces to work. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They really know how to prepare coffee, and their latte art is beautiful every time! They serve the best cup of cappuccino. Smooth foam and the beans aren’t overly bitter or burnt as they tend to taste at larger-chain restaurants.
