Great clam cake, clams in garlic and wine sauce, and shrimp scampy. The shrimp were meaty and large. The coffee delicious and the service was friendly, not intrusive, but helpful.

Not that impressive. I give it 2 stars for the food and 4.5 stars for service. The cold sourdough bread was just the beginning of what was to come. The lobster bisque with added charge for lobster meat was watery and luke warm. I’ve had better at several places such as Brio’s or Truluck’s. I had the Snapper special and it was also luke warm to cool and pretty average. My wife had the Ritz Cracker & Crab Stuffed Baked Shrimp. The stuffing had an overpowering spice that, when mixed with Ritz Crackers, tasted like fresh dirt. Best part of the meal — the baked potato, the desserts(Cinnamon Apple Pie with Ice Cream and the Chocolate Pecan Pie with Ive Cream) and the friendly service. They also have good iced tea. Our meal was $ 115.

Incredible selection of seafood located right in downtown Fort Worth. Super walkable in case you want to do something after.

I thought it was going to be a lot better. They brought out stone-cold sourdough bread that might have been good if it was at least warm. Lobster mac’ cheese was not good. The pasta shells were so undercooked that you could hardly chew them and the cheese sauce was just not that good. Kind of a waste of $ 20 bucks there. The clams in lemon sauce over fettuccine was the best dish. Lobster bisque was okay, but I’ve had better.

What can I say except I wasn’t expecting it… but WHOOPS, You Daddy Jacks have gone and done it… I fell in LOVE!!! My first time here and everything was WONDERFUL and exceeded my expectations! First of all… the staff is SOWONDERFUL, inviting, caring and delightful! Brittany was one of the best waitresses I have had in a long while. I ordered the lobster roll. It came with a salad and chips. I asked for a baked potato in place of the chips. I got the clam chowder which Brittany insisted was amazing and I must try. Let me tell you, it was heavenly! I wanted to lick the bowl because I didn’t want it to end, but I refrained, reminding myself I was after all, in a public place. It reminded me of clam chowder on the coast of California while on vacation. Heck, the entire experience was like a being on vacation! The lobster roll was so savory and succulent. Huge chunks of lobster with every bite! I got the homemade chocolate-pecan pie for dessert. It was brought out with two spoons,(for me and my honey to share) and a big bowl of vanilla icecream. I don’t think we talked during that last course as we were digging into that slice of heaven! Daddy Jack’s you have made this gal so very excited and happy by stumbling onto you! Thank you for being you and being here!!!

Nothing great here. All good but nothing jumped out as exceptional. I did like the lobster bisque and the baked stuffed shrimp was good. Really liked the Caesar salad. Server was lackadaisical and didn’t seem to care much. No personality. Maybe that’s what the place needs is some personality. 3 of 5 stars is a good way to rate this place.

My wife and I had been wanting to try Daddy Jack’s for awhile and thought a promotion celebration was the perfect excuse. The décor is great, you feel like you’re at an East coast restaurant. My wife particularly enjoyed the mural of a cowboy riding a lobster. Nice touch. We were quickly sat and brought bread/butter – pretty basic but good. I had clam chowder as my appetizer and my wife had the lobster bisque(just broth, adding lobster meat was $ 4). Both were good. not amazing, not bad. I had the lobster roll for dinner– while delicious, it was very small(especially for the price). It came with a side salad and chips. My wife had the baked stuffed shrimp and couldn’t say enough good things about it. The filling was ritz crackers, crab meat and spices. Her meal came with a baked potato(small, and lacking cheese/sour cream. just came with butter and chives) and sautéed veggies(squash, zucchini, carrots). The shrimp/stuffing were definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall the food was good; prices seem a bit high for what you get. Not amazing, not bad. Solid 3 stars.

We were in town for a conference and my wife was celebrating her birthday. So we heard about the seafood and decided to come in. We were not dissapointed. The stuffed talapia and pecan crusted cod were cooked to perfection! The garlic and butter crab fingers started the finger licking, the strawberry rhubarb pie concluded the night with belly rubbing. Only five months until MY birthday. Can’t wait :0)

I’m surprised by the high ratings. Maybe we caught them on a mediocre night. Nothing was awful, just … eh … We were there mid-week last week. It was 8pm and the place was about ¼ full. Lobster bisque had good flavor, but a little more watery than average, and any real presence of lobster doubled the price of the soup. I had the shrimp stuffed with ritz cracker/crab filling. The shrimp were fine and the lemon sauce was tasty, but for all I could tell, the filling was entirely cracker with no hint of crab. My wife had the grilled salmon, which was pretty fishy tasting, even for salmon. Our baked potatoes were only slightly above room temperature and a little under-baked. Actually, it was more like they were dried out from sitting around a long time. At best, the meal was adequate. Our entrée prices were pretty middle of the road, though, so I didn’t balk about not getting a more pleasant experience. The most memorable thing about our visit was the fact that the men’s room door hasn’t locked in a long time, and is fastened with a slide latch, like I’d expect in a fast food restaurant or a dive bar. Oh — and when we were seated, we told our waiter we’d «start with water and then decide» on drinks. He didn’t bring it up again, and neither of us felt like wasting a good wine on the meal, so we just had water.

Food –best stuffed fish and pecan crusted trout I’ve ever had –perfect sides of seasoned steamed broccoli & carrots –sourdough bread –homemade tarter & cocktail sauce is INCREDIBLE –lobster madness deals galore –all other fish dishes on rest of tables looked incredible Ambience –Lovely red checkered table cloths, red accents, and soft lighting make for a charming, relaxing & intimate escape

How anyone can give this restaurant 5, 4 or even 3 stars blows my mind. We had some of the worst seafood and service imaginable. To start off, although the waitress came over when we first sat down to greet us and told us the specials, she didn’t bother to ask us if we wanted any drinks(we did). She left and we looked at the menu. When she finally returned after what seemed like an eternity, she asked us if we were ready to order, but still didn’t ask us what we wanted to drink. I had to tell her what we wanted, since she wasn’t going to initiate that conversation.(This place has a full liquor bar, as well as numerous beers on tap, so one would think they would be pushing beverages. One would be wrong). We placed the drink order and ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time as the drinks. This is supposed to be a New England style seafood place, so both the wife and I order a cup each of New England Clam Chowder. The chowder was missing two important things — clams and taste. Even adding salt and pepper couldn’t help this sorry excuse for clam chowder. This was very over-priced at $ 5.00 for a cup of some potatoes and a cream base. The had put a half loaf of something that was supposed to be a sourdough bread on the table before we were seated, and it had a very soft(the complete opposite of crusty) crust and little taste. We ate the bread because we were hungry, but our wonderful waitress(note the sarcasm) didn’t bother to ask if we wanted more bread. Total fail on the bread. My wife ordered the pecan-crusted trout. The coating was mostly flour with very few pecans, and completely lacked flavor. This dish was a complete waste of money. I had their lobster mac and cheese, which I was really looking forward to. While there was an OK amount of lobster for a dish costing $ 18.95, this dish, like everything else we had, had a cheese sauce that completely lacked flavor. And like everything else, adding salt and pepper couldn’t save this poorly conceived example of mac and cheese. The Sundance Square area of downtown Fort Worth has a lot of great restaurants, but Daddy Jack’s is definitely not one of them. Don’t waste your time or money at this over-priced and overrated joint.

Service is first class. Great place to meet family and friends. Atmosphere is casual. Just to stop by for drinks and appetizers is the best spot downtown. Best sea food ever. The lobster rolls are the best in class.

My boyfriend and I came to Daddy Jack’s not for a full dinner but just to try the lobster bisque! I am a LOVER of bisques. Crab, lobster, shrimp, you name it, I LOVEIT. And Daddy Jack’s was excellent! There weren’t too many people eating while we were in there, around 8pm, so we were seated immediately and our waitress was very nice. I can’t really say much else about the place but if you love lobster bisque then give this place a try!

Best seafood I have ever had away from coast. Heck it even tops most coastal restaurants! We started off with the lobster bisque, New England clam chowder, and mussels marinara. All three were to die for! The lobster bisque was very rich in flavor!(Dip your bread in it next time, it is amazing) We were very pleased with our meal. We ordered the pecan crusted rainbow trout with an artichoke roumalade and sauted catch with a scallion lemon butter cream sauce. Again we could not have been happier! Definitely worth it! We paired it with red wine … not the usual white with seafood. It went well because of the breaded fish and hearty flavor. I had the Pinot Noir(bella glos) and he had the Malbec(very bitter red). Customer service was excellent and knowledge.

It was a dark and dreary night in Fort Worth, TX, where I was staying on business. I was looking at some local spots and found Daddy Jack’s on Unilocal — I chose it for the seafood menu. First, I ordered a soda. It came out to me in a can. That’s right, a can of Sprite was placed on my table along with a glass of ice. Ok, I thought this place was a little fancier than that, but I guess not. I was tempted to order the crab stuffed catch of the day but ended up going with the scallops and a bowl of lobster bisque. The scallops were cooked ok, but nothing special with the flavoring. It was served with vegetables and a baked potato. The lobster bisque was tasty. I was also given a small loaf of fresh bread. Rookie mistake by ordering the daily special(the scallops) and not checking on the price. For my five(maybe six) medium sized scallops I was charged $ 33. With tip(and of course my can of Sprite) I paid $ 51 for a so-so meal. I think my review would have received one more star had the price not been so high. Would I come back? Not likely. I think there may be better restaurants in Fort Worth to explore.

Let’s keep this simple: the food is delicious! Very high quality seafood! Reminded me of the quality I had growing up near Galveston. Will definitely be back for the food. Service was almost good, but overall could definitely have been more consistent. Perhaps we caught them on a tough night(we dined on Christmas Eve). Crab finger app-5, clam chowder-4, pecan crusted trout-5, red snapper-4.5, mussels-3.5. Can’t wait to come on a Monday and try the Lobster special! A bit pricey but the quality makes the price feel right. Strong choice for seafood in Ft Worth!

Beware: review is only for brunch! Came here on a fluke after everywhere else in Sundance was either packed or didn’t have alcohol, a requirement for a great brunch :) The eggs Benedict were good, if not a little salty; definitely the ham. BUT the waffles… so so good. I can’t remember exactly what the name of the dish was since my mom ordered it, but the glaze and syrup were delicious! honestly, $ 2 poinsettias or mimosas got us in, but the waffles keep this place on our go to list!

Terry and I are always looking for new places for bunch after church. I recently saw that Daddy Jack’s was serving lunch and French Toast and Eggs Benedict was on the menu. My wife, Terry, has never met a French Toast she didn’t like and I am a HUGE fan of Eggs Benedict. We arrived right after church and was seated immediately. This was only their 3rd Sunday serving brunch so the word is still getting out. The brunch menu is limited but covers what you’d want or expect at a Sunday Brunch. Of course my wife chose the French Toast and i ordered the Crab Benedict. I also ordered a Mimosas for $ 2.00, a great deal. After a short wait, our entrees arrived. My wife smiled after her first bite of the French toast. She said it was one of the best entrees of French Toast she’d ever eaten. The applewood pepper bacon was the perfect accompaniment to the toast. There was also a side of fresh fruit, strawberries and black berries. YUMMY! My Crab Benedict was very good. It was served with a side of fresh fruit and roasted potatoes. I really enjoyed the potatoes. The poached eggs were a bit overdone for my taste. When I envision Eggs Benedict I like a very soft boiled egg with a runny yoke. I feel the runny yoke adds to the richness of the hollandaise sauce. I did ask our server for additional hollandaise to add to the richness of the entrée. The extra hollandaise made all the difference with the entrée. One thing I can state is Daddy Jack’s didn’t skimp on the amount of crab on the entrée! There was lots. Service was very attentive and we had a very nice relaxing brunch. Since Daddy Jack’s is so close to our downtown church we’ll definitely be back again soon.

Man o man, love them crab fingers from here. Awesomely done. Place is quaint, quiet, fresh seafood with beer and wine only for alcohol. The servers were very timely, and we really enjoyed our dishes. Not exactly the«happening» place of Sundance Square, but if you crave some good seafood, and need a break from the craziness, this is a good choice.

Ate here the other night with some friends. Great place. I had pecan crusted trout. I it was great. I was super impressed they had la fin du monde beer there so of course I had a couple to wash down my meal. It was dimly lit and very full. Staff was friendly and helpful. Watch out for the sinks in the men’s bathroom. You can turn on the water forward or backward. The trick is getting it just right to stop it from running. For a guy that may have had a few drinks, it was a challenge. I will definitely go back
