I found the food very good! There does seem to be a shortage in staff, but the staff was very apologetic about it. I wasn’t in a rush so it didn’t bother me too much. The Elvis impersonator was great and kept us entertained while we waited on our food.

Average food. Super high prices. Do research before charging more than any Mexican place within 15 miles. Skip this one.

Food was tolerable but not fantastic… they desperately need more staff… one waiter… who was also the bartender

We absolutely love this place the food is usually excellent, I love the jalapeño soup the most, think broccoli & cheese soup but mild jalapeños instead of broccoli, they will give u a sample if u ask to try it. Also the best margaritas on town, I get the sangria swirl, often when we go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant I will get 2 – 3 margaritas but here I only get 1 because they are VERY strong. They do have live music from time to time which is awesome but I can’t remember what days. Occasionally if we come in on a busy night like anywhere else ur waiting forever on drink refills etc but we love it & it’s a family owned place which makes it even better.

I liked my tacos and margaritas but the service was poor my table was sticky. The side dishes sucked rice was overcooked and beans were undercooked. Would never go back especially not for the price. Also the music was deafening, could not hear anyone talk.

The food tasted frozen, not fresh. Maybe even out of a can? Definitely did not taste fresh. There was a manager literally yelling at a female server who I later found out was the owner Mike(after calling to complain) I will not be returning to this place and I hope that the place finds a new owner because the food is awful and the customer service is epic fail.

I went here with friends and tried one of their combos that included a taco, a tamale and a cheese enchilada. This was a decent location, the waitress was attractive and flirty but hey I was also with my fiancée! The price was reasonable, a guy was hanging out in the women’s restroom but I think he was escorted out. Alcohol was fair priced. The taco was interesting, it was deep fried and had a great texture. I would go back, but honestly it wasn’t the best place I have ever been.

Every time I come here, I have a new waiter. but I don’t keep track of what day… so who knows if that is because of turnover as the other reviews have suggested. One thing that is always the same… the margaritas are strong. They are the best margaritas in the area… please let me know if you think there are better margaritas anywhere in the North Fort Worth area. I’ve yet to find any even close. Everytime I’ve came here, I’ve had excellent customer service. like super sweet waiters/waitresses– no waiting… and I’m like a customer service nazi… if anything irritates me, it’s bad customer service.(Seriously, how hard is it to do the job that you are paid for.) I’ve also had good chips and salsa(you know, how some places don’t taste consistent– I hate that), and I’ve eaten good food(no complaints here)… Also, I’ve noticed that the other customers, however few and far between, always seem like regular customers. They are greeted as if they have been here tons of times before. I honestly don’t understand how this place always seems so empty. Anyone I’ve brought, has always loved it. I know of a Mexican restaurant closer to where I live, that has drinks that aren’t as strong, and salsa that is inconsistent, and food that is not as good, that has a steady flow of customers(maybe location?) I really dont get it. Give this place a try… in the area, it is the best for this type of food, from the places that I’ve tried. This time around, I had Cameron Tenoch. I like cilantro, but not when it’s overpowering… this white wine cilantro sauce, was not. The shrimp were fresh.(I used to live right on the gulf coast, I know fresh shrimp.)

Awesome fajitas and frozen margaritas!!! But I’m not sure how much longer this restaurant will stay in business. We’ve been coming here for a long time and it’s really kinda sad. They have all the potential in the world, but I see them struggling to get customers in the door and a very high turnover of waitstaff for some reason. Fogata’s used to be our Friday night ritual, but now we only come here to get seated quickly when we aren’t in the mood to wait somewhere else. I hope the owner and management figure out what’s going on and start packing the house again like they used to! Their chicken fajitas for two are always awesome. High quality grilled chicken and always perfectly cooked and seasoned. They are not shy with the onions either like at other places. Their setup with rice and beans always tastes wonderful and authentic.

The staffing situation made me update my review. I have been here a lot and it appears to be getting worse. Tonight I had to sit at the bar to be served a witnessed no less than 6 customers either walk over for their checks or for a drink because there was no waitstaff. Hopefully they will hire more people.

The problem is the owner and his step son that run the business. The owner does not pay his employees. Dish washer never gets paid, so they leave when they figure this out. Servers never get paid their $ 2.13 per hour(that’s why the GOOD) staff does not stay. They also make them tip out to the owners. The best cook just walked because after finally leaving getting paid, but was shorted. I love the food, but you can’t run a business this way.

We’ve been going to Fogatas for a couple of years now. They’ve had some trouble keeping good staff in the past but seem to have overcome that issue now. Our favorite place for margaritas, and they’re not stingy with the tequila! The food is really authentic and fresh. We love the chips and salsa and the tableside guacamole is fun to watch as well as eat! My husband loves the brisket tacos and I always order something different and am never disappointed. I especially like the jalapeño cream soup, it’s sooo good!

The food over here gets a five star for me for taste. Their food is very tasty, but the portions can be a bit small at times. It’s also pretty pricey for the amount that they serve. The servers are very friendly, I have had the owner come up to us several times to check up on us. The inside of the restaurant is very classy and spacious.

Food is decent & the service is decent. Nothing special though. They have nice thin chips though. I like that. My combo fajitas were hit & miss. The beef portion was good, but the shrimp was a bit overcooked & not much seasoning. The guac that came with it was bland, but my spouses that came with the enchiladas was better. It was like it came out of two separate batches or something. We’ll probably go back when we get a coupon in the mail or something, but there are places we prefer over it. One big plus is that it was so empty on Sunday, that we had no wait time at all.

The service was good. The cup of Martha’s Soup was good and came in a BIG«cup!» The margarita was good. The southwestern corn made me wonder why«southwestern» was in the name. No spice. No kick. Bland and came out as a soup. The rice was average. The seafood enchiladas were very unimpressive, though. The insides of the enchiladas were reasonably warm, but the outside(probably, specifically, the sauce) was not very warm and made them undesirable. I ended up opening up the enchiladas and eating the insides separately, leaving the tortillas and sauce behind. The $ 1.75 order of sopapillas was more quantity than I was expecting and they tasted pretty darn good too! So, that whole combination leaves me torn about Fogata’s. The pre– and post-meal were both good, but the meal itself didn’t live up to the other before and after. I may try them again someday at lunch, to see if I just had a bad visit. Otherwise, I’ll probably stick to other options for Mexican food.

We have never had a bad meal at Fogatas and have eaten here numerous times. Their chips and salsa is my favorite in the area and for me the salsa is the most important thing! It is time for us to head back for another meal there soon… hmm, tonight perhaps!
