Don’t normally do a sports bar, but this place is great. Loved the burger there. Probably the best burger I have ever had.

Really great place for some drinks and food. The prices are inexpensive too. The atmosphere is pretty great too. The service is average at best though. Still, great place to come and have lunch or a drink.

Wow I wasn’t expecting this place to be good based on the ratings but I was pleasantly surprised! I had good service. My drinks and food were served quickly. I had the mozzarella sticks and they were good nothing spectacular. But cmon its cheese sticks. I had the chicken club and it was soooo good. The only part lacking was I asked for my bacon to be extra crispy and it wasn’t even regular crispy. Their sweet potato fries are bomb! I would come back here for sure. My friends both said their burgers were delicious as well.

Not too bad of a spot. Went in for a couple beers and snacks. Beers were really cold and served great on draft. Chicken tenders were served hot and tasted awesome. Service is with a smile and just wonderful. Will return.

Very nice staff. They were able to accommodate our large group with zero notice. Food was good and atmosphere was laid back.

Good burgers and tater tots! I like Jakes as kind of a sports bar with good burgers. Very casual atmosphere. If I am downtown FTW and in the mood for a burger Jakes would be where I would go.

An interesting establishment! You wouldn’t think a sports bar would even offer breakfast! On the positive side, our server was friendly and cheerful. The place was empty so I was seated at a table of my choosing. The menu was not expansive but it offered everything you might want want to eat. The traditional breakfast offered several options and included eggs, meat, potatoes, grits, and biscuits and gravy! The coffee was served in large heavy mugs and was okay but not strong enough for me.
The downside was the biscuits, although fresh and large were too fluffy and fell apart. There was very little gravy for the size of the biscuits. The bacon was a decent portion but lacked flavor.
The bathroom was unkempt and one toilet was plugged. I felt the need to wash my hands as soon as I left Jakes.
I would have loved to rate this higher but it is what it is. Stop by and give it a try.

My wife and daughter were hungry and exhausted from our drive up from San Antonio so they asked me to go get them a quick dinner while they checked into the hotel and unpacked for the weekend… so I dropped into Jakes after checking into the hotel which was conveniently located just across the street. Yea!!! I decided to use the To-​Go desk to make our orders #20 (The Bacon Bleu) for me, #3 (Cheeseburger) for the wife and 2 orders of the Loaded Cheddar Fries and an order of the Onion rings. All the burger where decent proportions but a little on the greasy side. The Fries were kind of soggy by the time I got them across the street to our room but they tasted just OK. My wife LOVED the onion rings so I guess these were a hit.
Every thing we got was Good but nothing really to write home about. Your typical Greasy Burgers and Fries… until you get the BILL… WOW… $ 44 for 2 burgers, 2 order of loaded fries and an order of Onion rings??? I was NOT expecting $ 45 for a couple of burgers… These are NOT Gourmet burgers for Petes Sake!!! Maybe $ 30 for this???
Anyway… I Hear that their Breakfast Menu ROCKS… I have yet to try this out and might tomorrow morning… stay tuned for and update if I do.
PROS: Convenient location for Downtown Hotels, Decent Burgers, Nice Sports Bar atmosphere, Friendly Staff
CONS: PRICE, Greasy Burgers, soggy fries.

Staying at Marriot across street. I’m feeling a little puney today. Nothing a drinky poo and a good burger wouldn’t fix right?! Bf had the works with chili chz fries. He liked it. I had the burger with blue cheese melted on it with bacon. Yummy. U know the saying feed a cold starve a fever? Yup. The burger was great. We had two bloody Mary’s and they were ok. Didn’t really taste any booze but juice was good he he. Service kinda sucked. They had the stockyard parade today and were not busy yet. Everyone was outside. We did snatch a window seat so that was fun watching the horses. Burger was good.

Wife and I dined here for breakfast. She had the oatmeal pancakes and love them. I had the omelette with hash browns and biscuits w/​Gravy. Food was on spot. Fun little spot right next to our hotel.

Not like the photos at all. I nuked them at work so I could eat them. The burger was dry even though i asked for mayo. All I could taste was strong onions and that lettuce preservative. The meat was paper thin and tasteless. The girl at the togo acted like i asked her for a personal loan when i asked for my 87 cent change. The burger and fries was 11.13 not the best choice on the block. Now I know why This is why this place was empty and the streets packed.

The Jalapeño Bottle cap burger was amazing. Had it with no pickle no tomatoe and grilled onions. It was very very well seasoned and flavored. Easily one of the best burgers I ever had.
Reminded me a bit of in-​and-​out in terms of quality and freshness. Got the Jake fries, nothing too special but the burger made up for it. Service and atmosphere were great. Definitely worth a return visit.

Stopped here for a quick drink before dinner nearby. Service was fast and friendly, we all had beers. Great local beer was Shiner Wicked Ram IPA was very tasty, with a nice citrus flavor! Fun atmosphere with lots of TV’s. Prices were affordable too.

Went here because it is across the street from the Marriott. We were preparing for the Unilocal Halloween Bash.
Nice simple bar and burger joint nestled into the corner lot. Plenty of atmosphere. The drinks were decent, reasonably priced, and the bartender stayed steadily busy.
We ordered an appetizer of jalapeño bottle caps. They were good.
Straightforward friendly bar and hamburger joint in Fort Worth.

Went here for a breakfast meeting/​get together with a group. I ordered the pancake combo. The pancakes were mushy and the sausage it was serves with was somehow mushy and funny tasting as well. I was not the only person that didn’t enjoy their food. The 2 stars are purely because the young ladies serving us were pretty attentive and got most things right for the group.

I have to say that the drinks are reasonable here. I paid 23.50 for a dbl jack n coke at the embassy suites next door but only 13.50 here. The staff here, besides, Angela, is lazy. Here is my photo to prove it.
I like the atmosphere, decent quiet pop music plays in the background while televisions purport sports on the screens. Nice place to relax.

The burgers were good, but the real winner was the sweet potato fries with the marshmallow cream. It was like dessert! One of the best treats I’ve had. I would definitely order this again.
The cheeseburger was ok. I did appreciate that I could ask to have my onions grilled instead of raw. Our server was attentive, and fixed our order when she noticed a mistake. But the restaurant is rather down-​trodden. Could use a face-​lift.

Located right across from the Courtyard hotel.
Its ok, but the restaurant, menu and servers are tired. I had their special jalapeño topper burger and was not impressed. That burger was most pedestrian.
I sat at the bar and the service was ok. The bartender wasn’t really full of energy. She looked like she did not want to be there. Just couldn’t be bothered with another guy at the bar looking for cold beer and good burgers.
There is just too many restaurants in the area to put up with this tired establishment. So its a bar, its has TV and beer and mediocre burgers… but that is all.

Burger was good and the beer came in schooners, so I was very happy.
Service was good, but I wish the bar had more TVs.

Jake’s is awesome. You walk in, are greeted promptly, and seated right away. Now this may all vary based on the day and time you visit. We visited on a weeknight and the restaurant was not very crowded. The turkey burger was delicious and a great recommendation from Yolanda M. Now I must say that the sweet potato fries being sweet caught me off guard. No ketchup needed, unless you like that whole sweet and savory experience.
Great location, good food… Jake’s is a winner.
