It’s the real deal – start early, grab a butt stool(that didn’t sound right) & stay late! If for some reason you avoid all the others-don’t avoid this!

Nice atmosphere and decent prices. The band was very traditional older country music. Nice place to relax.

Stools that flatter your ass get a green light in my book. Lil’ Red comes through with these sassy ass stools that makes your feel saucy indeed. I may have been a little wine tipsy at this point. A few more drinks later and the next day I found some photos of me riding on the saddle that they keep on a fence. Okay. But prior to that I do remember switching partners with a cool looking couple on the country dance floor. Talking to a nice older couple celebrating the woman’s birthday. Making fun of my date’s outfit calling him people of Walmart. Maybe that’s why he hasn’t texted me again. But hey, why so sensitive? Oh well. But the drinks here folks, are strong. So consider yourselves warned.

definitely a «honky tonk» complete with pool tables, dance floor, the smell of cigarette smoke, and willie playing loudly on my last visit. the drinks were very reasonable and the bartender was attentive. tourists like to stop in and take pictures sitting in the panty and cowboy boot wearing bar stools. this place can get PACKED and ROWDY. stop in to grab a drink. if it’s not your scene, you can get it to go.

Disgusting, obviously racist minstrel décor. Good way to let everyone know that you can only feel welcome if you’re white people who don’t have any political education. Just so you know, it’s your team who are voting to leave your veterans out in the cold. Way to politicize a beer. Obama is a black guy, so he must be the bad guy. I can’t wait to send all my big black lesbian friends to patronize your bar. You’ll know them when you see them. IF they’re allowed in the door, that is. Sickening.

This place is truly the only legit honky tonk left in the Stockyards. Great traditional country music. FULLBAR. Awesome food. PS. IF youre an asshole you will get thrown directly out the door.

My sister and I came to Ft Worth for the American and wanted a real TX dance hall experience. They had a great band playing classic country and a big dance floor. Fast service and plenty of stalls in the bathroom. The only thing that I could say is odd is the curtains instead of doors in the bathroom.

We dropped by here after bailing out of Billy Bob’s. This was just what we wanted. Room on the dance floor and classic good live C&W for two stepping. We recommend it.

Great night at the Longhorn! Been to several bars and music venues down in the stockyards, and this is my favorite. A real honky tonk that just feels comfortable. It has an authentic feel here without being«divey», and the place is clean and reasonably kept. The crowd runs from about 30 to around 60, nice mix of folks. Dale Watson and his Lonestars were keeping the crowd on the dance floor. Ten dollar cover was reasonable(no one ever asked for tips for the band). Our waitress was friendly and attentive — my glass was never empty the whole night. When I’ve been here before, the owner has always stopped at our table, shook our hands and thanked us for coming to his bar. It’s nice to know that the patronage of a stranger is appreciated. Missed this tonight — the band announced that he was in Vegas on vacation. Next time that one of my favorite Texas bands is playing here, I will definitely be back!

Mmmm… I didn’t have a bad time here, but I agree the racist décor is a bit much. But this is Fort Worth and I’m out of my element here anyway. This is a pretty good sized bar with lots of cowboys, live music, a dance floor, and pool tables. They charge a cover to get in, which I’m not a fan of, especially when the ladies’ room uses shower curtains rather than doors on the stalls.

FUN! We were there on Saturday, January 4th and had the best time! Friendly, nice crowd and terrific host! Spend the $ 5.00 to park in the nearby lot.

Hey Longhorn Saloon, I don’t mean to be a burr in your saddle or anything, and I’m not big on one-star reviews, but we really need to have a talk. I really don’t think your minstrel fiddler statue with the Obama sign hung on it over by the front door is… what’s the right term… cute? appropriate at all? something that represents our city well in a tourist area? a good move for a business owner around here after about the early 1930s or so? I don’t know. I’ll think some more and get back to you on that. What are you doing with a minstrel statue in your business to begin with, anyway? The live music was great when I was there though, and the staff was nice. Good job on that. But come on, I can’t spend money there or recommend it to people with this business in your bar like it’s no big deal — no matter what the rest of the experience is like. Yeesh.

Worst experience ever! Went in on a Thursday night for a friends birthday. The«Bar Manager», Bethany I think it was introduced herself and seemed intoxicated. She was loud and hanging all over customers, sitting at the bar like she was a customer herself. Every time my friends and I would try and take a picture together, she would photobomb it. Then she would proceed to bad mouth us. Some manager. The cherry on top of the cake was when she was sitting at the bar, an old mentally disabled man was right behind her talking to someone else, she turned around and screamed«f*%# you!» The«manager» then proceeded to choke him and push him, soon after her male friend stepped in and knocked him to the ground and tried to hit him. We all jumped in and tried to stop him. One of the bartenders stepped in and kicked the man out. What angers me the most is this man was incredibly sweet. It was actually his birthday as well that night, he introduced himself as Mike and he was 61. You could tell he was a bit slow at first. He didn’t drink alcohol so I bought him a coke. He was very grateful. I can’t believe they would let such an unprofessional and incompetent person run a bar. She should be terminated.

I settled in here on a recent night of exploration and found myself parked with a couple of bartenders, the cook(who I didn’t know was the cook at the time) and a couple of random folk in on a night when the Stockyards weren’t teeming with tourists and the wallets of drive-bys. Yes, it’s a new day for the gang at the Longhorn, and there’s a ton of space in here, I might say, even, deceptively so – and they’re eager to host the crowds ready for a little live(mostly singer-songwriter variety) music. In general, I find that Fort Worth rooms dedicated to hosting acts do so relentlessly, and the Longhorn folks seem steeped in that tradition. You’ll find a bar full of lots of standard(and often quite Texas-friendly) brands at the bar, and I settled into a couple of Lone Stars over my chats with those present. I need to get back when they’re fighting them off on the weekends — when the stage teeters toward the crowd(and the crowd back), and soak up the folks they’re booking in prime time. It may not tell me everything I really need to know about the Longhorn Saloon, but it just might tell me something interesting. And most days, interesting’s enough to predict a return engagement.

Saw Hank iii there. That show was INSANE fun! He always puts on a great show with both of his bands, Hank iii and the Damned Band &ASSJACK. You wounldn’t even believe its the same group of folks. And Longhorn Saloon did a good job hosting the show, as good as can be expected. Bars did run out of preferred beer. The show was all ages, because I love to get drunk and mosh in a pit with 10 year olds. Kidding… was NOT in the pit. But I did have one dad annoyed that his little kid couldn’t see the show over my big adult head. I guess he really needed his precious child to learn about pits, drugs, drunkeness and how to conjugate the«f» word correctly. Security was lax to say the least. Luckily we managed stools along the railing over looking what would have otherwise been a dance floor had there not been a pit. Seats were good and what beers they had were cold. They could have planned a smidge better, but all in all a good night. Go see Hank iii, buy tickets early. This show SOLDOUT and no one was selling their tickets outside. Tickets went for $ 100 online general admission. CRAZY.

This place was a surprise all around. I wasn’t sure why the final Fort Worth show for one of my favorite local bands was held here since they are far, far away from the country music that I associate with the Stockyards, but it worked. The door guy was cool, the bartenders were fun and the drinks were cold and readily available. There were three different bars available for grabbing drinks so we never had to wait in line(except for that one time when another patron was so drunk that the bartender had to help her sign her tab). I thought the sound system was really good, and liked that they projected the bands on the multiple flat screens at the back of the venue. All in all I am glad we made the treck over to Fort Worth, the show was great!

This place has been here for a very long time. Hank iii sold out. Not a small venue by any means. The crowd was rowdy. They almost ran out of beer. I was drinking Michelob Ultra. The show was one of the best I’ve seen. I hate to make this a review of the Hank iii show, but I cannot stress how important to match the right show to the right venue for an evening to go well. This was the right show in the right place. Hank iii has a unique mix of indignant old country to kiss my ass speed metal. The crowd is diverse. The Mohawk punks in the pit and the dinner plate belt buckle ropers at the bar; everyone enjoying the show in a good natured, have a beer and butt heads like maniacs way. The venue was a perfect place for this show. The beers were cold. The bartenders fast and professional. See deno’s photos to get an idea.
