Super greasy, great food and shakes if you’re looking for an all American burger joint. Old school burger joint atmosphere.

My wife and I were driving past Bob’s while up in Fortuna on vacation and the old style sign caught my eye. «Bob’s Footlongs» with a dachshund in a bun… Oh yes, just HAD to pull in and get a hotdog! I had the double meat footlong and it was everything that I had hoped it would be. My wife had a standard footlong. We sat outside at one of the tables and enjoyed the sun, our dogs, fries and drinks. Just like old times. It really took me back! We’ll be back when we are up in the area again.

I love this place! Their hamburgers are classic and the fries are the perfect shoestring fry. I adore their veggie burgers, packed with flavor and topped with decent veggies; combine it with a side of fries and a chocolate shake and it’s a damn fine meal. I am a meat eater by all means, but the veggie burger is just perfect. I love that this place has been catering to the local area for the last 50 or so years and it’s easy to see why!

If you like hot dogs go here. Garlic fries, reg fries, and more to choose from. Great place to take the kids for a lunch. Clean and affordable with friendly and responsive staff. Have a milk shake. The menu offers lots to choose from. Even a picky eater can find something to like.

I have come to this place growing up and it is one of my favorites. My sister worked here and so did 20 years or so after she did. YThis place isnt as good as it used to be when Ozzy used to own it but the one thing that ddint change was the food but the portions and the prices sure as heck have. Everything here is good but i love the shakes, cheese fries and the 4 way, garlic fries, chtaco burger and so much more. My mouthi s watering just writing this review. Hopefully they will get back to the portions that kept them in business for so long. I will be back here the next time i come to town that is for sure at least once, espcially since my husband has yet to try this place out.

I have not had a bad meal yet from Bob’s! They are quick, reliable, and everyone is super friendly. It’s a very causal setting. Order at the counter and find a seat. They bring you your food, you eat, you drop the tray off at the garbage, and you go home. My husband loves their burgers, and I’m a fan of the hush puppies, nachos, fish n’chips, and chocolate covered ice cream cones! They only take local checks and cash though, so be prepared. :)

Who remembers that Bob’s actually started in a trailer behind the Fortuna Theatre? Or that they moved into their«new» location(where they still are lol) in the ’70’s? Or that the alley behind the«new» Bob’s was where the stoners and smokers went between classes at FUHS to spark up back in the day? Priceless… Bob’s is everything a small town burger/dog shop should be. My older brothers and sister went there when they were in high school in the ’60’s and early ’70’s; I went there when I was in high school in the mid ’70’s, and my kids went there when they were in high school in the 21st century. Amazing, but there are countless little places like this all across the United States. Bob’s has survived and for that they get my five stars. And you know what? I still love the food, from the double burger, to the fresh cut skinny little fries, to the grilled footlong with everything, and oh yeah that thousand island French fry sauce that you still serve yourself to in those little paper cups. Countless plans by kids have been made there(dates, keggers, cruising) and god help me I hope Bob’s is still there 100 years from now for high school kids just like me and my brothers and sisters so many years ago. It’s just so damn American it makes me proud.

Used to love their greasy gut-bomb food but will never eat inside that establishment again. It was beyond disgusting. I actually lost my appetite before the food ever came. Every table in the place was dirty, I mean filthy. The floors, seats, everything was looking gross. I used to love Bob’s but not so much after the last experience. There seemed to be about 3 or so teenage employees just standing around behind the counter chatting when they could have been cleaning or bussing tables. I actually got up & attempted to clean the disgusting sticky mess from our table while they just stood there. Not impressed. It wasn’t busy at all. It was a Saturday & about early afternoon. Needless to say I was sufficiently grossed out & certainly won’t be back. At least not to «dine».

Bobs is SERIOUS! Its a gem in fortuna. Hands down the best food establishment in Fortuna. 1) One of the best fresh dipped corn dogs you will ever eat. 2) Chili cheese burger/dog/fries are the best in humboldt PERIOD! 3) Most affordable reasonably priced food in all of humboldt County due to its proximity to Fortuna High School. 4) Consistency and reliability.

The burgers are thin, but tasty. As an average sized man, you’ll probably need two or supplement with a pocket pizza, or something. Garlic fries are awesome. The hours are kind of weird. It seems like they’re only open on days when school is in session unless there’s some sort of community event. Hit them up if you go to the AUTORAMA in July. Do not expect a quick meal if you go during the high school’s lunch break. They do a good job, as packed as they get. It is pure chaos at this time.

I graduated from FUHS in 95′ and the food at Bob’s is just as good as I remember. There are few things that are as good as your nostalgia makes you think they were. The milkshakes, vanilla cokes, hush puppies, hand cut garlic fries, and pocket pizzas! Yum I go every time I’m back in town.

this place is totally nasty, the burgers are so thin they only have 1 side, a «deluxe» burger is with lettuce and tomato somehow thats deluxe. The employees seemed like they were bored with there jobs and just couldnt get our order right, so annoying, i wont ever go there again, this place is for young kids and im sure thats where they get all there business… yuck!

Fun day out with my fiancé and a couple of friends, had a blast. Couldn’t find any ice cream shops but a homeless person directed us here. My coffee milkshake was fantastic, the banana splits were a really good size for the price. The only reason this place loses two stars is that my fiancé does not like all the banana split toppings they offer… he wanted just hot fudge, but was told that their rules require him to have three different toppings. That is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of!

Its the local go to place for nostalgic foods from your youth. I have been living out of the area for about 11 years, and I still miss it. I think a trip to Forutna is in need. There Corndogs are the best, as well as there garlic fries, milk shakes and hush puppies!

Bob’s is a local Fortuna legend. A step back in time to a great burger/hot dog joint. Killer dogs, boiled or grilled. The best fries in Humboldt county, period. Great shakes and drinks with that«crunchy ice» that’s hard to find these days. The décor is certainly dated and worn — and it’s absolutely perfect. I think if they ever remodeled, the entire town of Fortuna would revolt. Get some dogs, a four way and some hush puppies and everyone but your cardiologist will love it.

Worst dogs ever!!! I decided to try a new restaurant in one of our local towns. I noticed that Bob’s Footlongs had several customers that day so I decided to try it out. I ordered two chili dogs, fries, onion rings, and a beverage that totaled to $ 20. I seriously don’t mind paying $ 20 for a good meal but this was by far stomach wrenching. The chili is definitely canned, the fries are super greasy, the onion rings were descent(but surely not worth $ 5), and they provide the lowest quality sausage that the grocery store has to offer. I’m definitely tainted now; I doubt I will be eating hot dogs or chili for years to come.

Great chili dogs… fries were crispy and the service was great. I am glad I do not live in fortuna… I would look like a Bob’s footlong
