Went for dinner. Look like only open for breakfast and lunch. Monday to Sunday 6:30 to 2:30 says the sign on the window

Looking for biscuits and gravy like this for quite a while. What a wonderful place to eat breakfast. Picked it out to random and was very impressed. We will most likely hear every time we are in Fortuna. Enjoy

We have been satisfied customers for years. The food here is consistently delicious, the cook is very creative, always ask what the special is. My idea of a fun day is to watch a movie at Fortuna Theater then go across the street to L’s for an amazing meal & save room for dessert

The service was good but the food was sub par. $ 14 for a Chicken Fried Steak breakfast that wasn’t worth it. Biscuit was under cooked and doughy, steak was overdone, eggs were cooked in some type of oil that had a bad aftertaste and hash browns were the processed frozen type. Not what I’d expect at that price. Also I’m not a fan of carpeted restaurants, especially when you can smell them. Also a word to out of towners, prepare yourself for the strange stares you’ll be getting from the«locals».

Nice local place. Friendly and good service, good basic food and large portions. My wife and I ate breakfast here.

Food is good. Be prepared to wait. 1 waitress for 10 – 12 tables. We finally got up to get our own menus. Drinks after about 15 mins. Meanwhile 3 groups came in and left. 1 of them sat for about 10 min’s and not even acjnowledged. They walked out. So that the employees stay cool they leave the front door open on a cool foggy morning. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt and don’t sit by the open door. Oh. and don’t forget cash. they don’t believe in credit cards here.

Cool fact… the beef is from humanely treated and fed natural foods. The chicken strips the cut, batter and make themselves and it shows in the taste! Atmosphere is «cozy» kind of quiet looks like your in grandmas house a bit. Service is great, friendly servers and attentive. Average priced I would come back here for sure

Bring cash or check because plastic is not accepted. Ok to the good stuff. We had an early dinner and were the only guests for the entire meal. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. My fried cod and shrimp meal was very filling and very very tasty. The clam chowder tasted fresh and light and not too salty. My dining partner had a burger which was cooked to order and served with plenty of well prepared fries. Price was reasonable and food was very good. We will be back.

Three stars. Ate here three times during a two-week long business trip. Five-star experience the first time on Saturday afternoon. I was hungry; I had a blueberry pancake, French toast, bacon, and a side of spicy patty sausage. It was delightful. I returned two times to try different things and I was very disappointed. I had another blueberry pancake and it was burned. I’ve never seen such a blackened breakfast item actually served and it tasted like it was burned. The sausage was burned. The bacon was burned. I think they did it to me on purpose because it was late in the afternoon, but I was told that they serve breakfast all day and it was no problem. I could have had something better at Denny’s. What a waste of my appetite. I’m lowering my review to two stars now, after reading this.

My wife and I used to fm frequent L’s Kitchen until one day she was told she couldn’t eliminate something out of her order. We were told the cooks were upset about people changing orders(owner included), which seemed strange to me and L’s would no longer substitute or eliminate items from orders. At that time we ate at L’s three to four times a month. We have since taken our regular business somewhere else except for a few occasions. The service on weekdays is great and the food is good. Weekends and holidays the service tends to be slow due to the lack of staff.

In town for the Comedy Festival and went there for Breakfast/Lunch. Folks were awesome and the food was super tasty. Blueberry pancake the size of a hubcap. I’ll be back.

Fresh ingredients and friendly staff. We ordered the Chicken Grill and Biscuits/gravy, and made quick work of both. Nothing beats a good side salad, and they delivered!

First of all the breakfast was way over priced for one egg, hashbrowns, two sausages and a biscuit, but I decided I would try it anyway. HORRIBLE. GREASYHASHBROWNSANDTHEBISCUITCOULDBEUSEDTOANCHOR A BOAT. The cook who took my order was great as a waitress, but the waitress that came in 30 minutes later didnt do a thing. She never came and asked if I needed anything, or if it was good or if I wanted more coffee. I left no tip. I had to go to the counter to get my bill to pay it. Horrible horrible food. Perhaps their sandwiches and dinners are good. If your looking for heavy greasy food while paying a third more than you should this is the place for you. We will not be going back and I can not recommend this place to anyone.

Good food for good price. Enough said. They are also quite friendly :) Also awesome is you can have breakfast allllll day. I like me some breakfast but sometimes I cannot get up early enough. I’m so happy that we found this place for some awesome grub before going back to the woods for some more hiking!

Just how Brian used to make it. A few people know I grew up in Ferndale. And a few people know my mother owned the main street café that flourished due to its hot coffee, breakfast menu, and of course, its biscuits and gravy. The cook, Brian made the most amazing biscuits and gravy, and L’s reminded me of just how much I used to love it. My hash browns were tasty, my chicken breast cooked well — wonderfully given as a side — and the biscuits and gravy were delicious. Both the honey and I wish L’s were in our neck of the woods, though our waistbands probably feel very differently! I’d definitely come back any time!

Absolutely amazing service from both the host/waitress & chef. Fantastic personalities, very patient, & extremely informative & helpful! Must say compliments to the chef! I requested a Cajun burger & asked of they could make it any spicier, being very skeptical they would, & instantly they told me yes & I have them the free leisure to do as they want with it & I must say 10⁄10. I will be back!

As far as tasty, good quality food and friendly service goes, L’s has it down to a science. It’s not some uppity, expensive place in a big city, and it isn’t trying to be. It just is what it is, bad decorations and all, and I’m cool with that. I had french toast with eggs and bacon(sorry, vegetarian self… I just had to do it). It was all better than expected. My french toast was light and not at all greasy, and the eggs were perfectly over-easy. No brown bits and no uncooked clear goo. My mom had a mushroom omelet that was fluffy and wonderful. Even the coffee was good. Our server was super nice, even with her grandson running around wreaking havoc. He came up behind her and untied her apron probably 4 times, and the cook would let him ring the bell and yell, «You’re up, Grandma!» Mostly unrelated, but still awesome — the table of impressively old people next to us ordered Mike’s hard cranberry to drink with breakfast. That has virtually nothing to do with the restaurant, but it kind of makes me want to go back just to see what other Fortuna townsfolk are like.
