Great food at a reasonable price. 5 stars for the food honestly but I’m not coming back due to horrible customer service. If they got rid of the rude waiters, this place would be making a lot more money based off of the other reviews as well.

I’ve been coming here for years and I have always loved the food. It is a hole in the wall restaurant tucked away in the corner near want a lot of pizza. This place is family owned and a fusion between Thai and Vietnamese food. They accept cash only so be prepared. I usually order beef pad Thai, fish cakes, hot n sour soup and Ca kho tho. Definitely give this place a try and don’t judge it based on the appearance in the outside. I’ve never eaten here so I can’t rate the service but everytime I’ve been in to pick up my food, they’ve been very nice.

If you are here for the food, good pick. My tips: You just have to try to go during times when its not busy(no lunch, dinner) so you will be able to swallow your food not have to deal with the waiters’ attitude. food is delicious, main reason for people to come back. The way waiters treat you? Thankfully there food is good!

Sure the food taste great, but know that they do use a large amount of msg. In addition, the middle aged man and the servers sucks. Seems kind of rude. Perhaps they are busy and that’s the reason for the poor customer service. but being rude is not acceptable!!! Not acceptable!!!

This is like home style Vietnamese cooking! The Thit Kho, Catfish, Beef salad and other dishes. Vietnamese comfort food at it’s finest. The servers were very friendly. The food was delicious! And we left super full! Can’t go wrong here. The catfish is unbelievable here! A MUSTORDER! Recommendation: Beef salad and catfish

Came here for lunch. I ordered the cat fish sweet & sour soup, beef — bamboo shoots & veggies, & steamed pork. Food came out in a timely manner. Good food and good customer service. Don’t be fooled by the Mexican looking waiter… He speaks Vietnamese fluently. Very nice waiter by the way

The food here used to be very good but the service was and still horrible. Our server’s face looked like his mom just died. Seriously?! At least try to look like you enjoy your job. My mother in law couldn’t finish her dessert and asked for a togo cup. Our server looked annoyed that we asked and later said they don’t allow to-go desserts. This is the absolute last time I’m coming here!!!

I like this place and their food but they only deserves 1 star for their service. The service here is horrible, especially the guy with a mustache(he’s the manager I think) there used to be an old couple that managed this place and they were super nice. Anyway, my boyfriend and I came in at 8:30, 30 minutes before they close(like the board said). And the manager straight up kicked us out with an attitude and told us they’re closed. Is that how you treat your customers?

We didn’t end up staying. I asked bò luc lac, what kind of salad come with and the waiter said regular salad. We asked for watercress, he answered to add $ 6 for watercress. The place is small and pricier than their competitions.

The first thing i want to say is that if you come in to this restaurant, maybe out of curiosity after reading this review, beware of bad service and be ready to accept the consequences… we came in with 9 in our party, at first we were offered an 8 seater next to the entrance. I saw two round tables that was empty which can be folded to a square table and put together for big party… as soon as i asked if that can be arranged the host that let us in just shook his head sending a message of disappointment to my suggestion… it was so obvious that he is upset by the look in his fiery eyes… i asked my party if they want to just leave but everybody wanted to try the food so we found another more accomodating host who managed to put 9 chairs around the round table… that is the intro we experienced… Now the food… the food is just okay… most of the items we ordered were okay but something my wife and/or my sister-in-laws can cook same or even better… i would admit that after a bad reception i am more critical to the food but i try to be as partial and unaffected by my bad emotion as i dig in… i would say this is average but if i ever come back here it would be a long time and most likely it would not be by my choice… The people here are defenssive as well, that might be because their Unilocal rating is going down… if they keep their service pattern then most of these bad reviews will just prove to be true…

Mirada – a Thai/Chinese restaurant serving family style meals with heavy influences from Vietnamese cuisine. The«Canh Chua»(Vietnamese Sour Soup) and«Ca Kho To»(Braised catfish) served here may be the BEST I’ve had, but the other dishes I’ve tried were underwhelming. With those facts in mind, combine that with poor service, slightly high prices, and out-dated 90’s décor results in 3.5 stars. —-The Food — - Canh Chua or Vietnamese Sour Soup($ 16.95) — Made with boiled fish, tomatoes, bean sprouts, okra, pineapple, all simmering in tamarind flavored broth. It’s garnished with caramelized garlic, scallions, and different herbs that bring about notes of lemon, coriander, and basil. This soup is beyond comforting and a favorite of mine within Vietnamese cuisine – at Mirada, they serve it best. Eat with rice or vermicelli noodles. Ca Kho To or Braised catfish($ 9.95) — Salty & Sweet. You’ll receive three catfish steaks, braised in a steel pot. In Vietnam, Ca Kho To is often cooked in a clay pot to retain heat and help in the caramelizing process, but this isn’t essential because it’s served deliciously here. Just beware the bones. Scoop some of the sauce at the bottom of your pot into your rice! Ca Chim Chien($ 12.95) — Deep fried fish with ginger fish sauce. Fried well, but the fish sauce needed more lemon juice and water to dilute the smell. Pad Thai($ 7.45) — Every piece of chicken used in this dish had ligaments that made for an unpleasant meal. It was a bit bland and could’ve used more salt or fish sauce in the cooking process too. Thit Ba Roi Kho To or braised pork belly($ 10.45) — Contains the same sauce like the braised fish above. The pork belly here is extremely fat making each bite akin to chewing gummy bears. Not a dish I love. —– Conclusion: 3.5 Stars. While I recommend the Canh Chua and the Ca Kho To, everything receives a pass from me. I can’t emphasize how poor the service is here too, the servers need an attitude change. Although the menu is vast with options, there are a ton of things that are ONLY served during the daytime. It would help if Mirada included these time restrictions on the menu. Also, portions could be better. Extra Notes: –CASHONLY –Closed on Tuesdays –FREE dessert when dining in –Bad service, could be more friendly, attentive and accommodating. Kudos for employing Mexican workers who speak Vietnamese, but this is moot if service is without a smile. –Small restaurant that serves less than 50 people –Décor and lighting can use a change – feels grungy –Parking isn’t a problem –Restroom could be cleaner

Good place to go for a vietnamese family style meal. My favorites here are the Ca Kho To(fish in a clay pot) and Canh Chua(Vietnamese sour soup). They have many other good dishes here! They get pretty busy some nights so there may be a wait. Their customer service has improved significantly over the years. It use to be very bad, but now I think they do pay more attention to the customers.

Okay mirada, I’ve given you the benefit of a doubt for too long. Crappy service is pretty standard at a Vietnamese joint, so I was not too concerned about that. After eating here many a night, the food has been pretty consistent… until my last time. The usual came out and I was saddened. The canh chua tasted sweeter than usual, missing the tart and salty notes. Portion sizes for the other dishes(stir fried squid and bo luc lac) looked smaller than usual and drab. DONOT talk to the owner about his food, he gets defensive and it’s and excessive in futility. Time to find a new com phan joint. It’s been fun mirada… but I outgrew you.

Mirada has been in this plaza for a very long time. The same owner and same waiters. It trips me out every time I come here because the waiters are Mexican and they speak fluent Vietnamese. Yeah, I know. Mirada is the only restaurant’s number I have in my phone because it takes 10 minutes for them to cook my order. Anyway, I’ve been coming here since high school and ordering the same thing. The Pad Thai. I absolutely love their Pad Thai because it’s so damn good. It comes with shrimp and chicken for protein. The veggies are bean sprouts, lettuce, green onions, cilantro, and carrots. It’s not as greasy as other Thai restaurants and has tons of flavors. I would have to say that it’s a fusion Vietnamese Pad Thai because of the non-greasy factor. It’s kind of like going to buy a new car without the greasy sales man. Overall, I highly recommend Mirada for their Pad Thai and other dishes. I’ve tried many of their dishes and it’s all good. However, I stick to my favorite every time.

Ummmm my favorite home style Vietnamese restaurant. The dishes are traditional, flavorful, fresh ingredients and the service has been excellent everything single time we dine in. Love the Che desserts they give is at the end of our meal.
