Trying to take the relatives from Taiwan to eat something that is different before they head back home. Decided to take them to this restaurant for dinner. When I arrived aroudn 6:30, I was a bit surprised since no one was in the restaurant. Still, we decided to give it a try. There is only 1 waiter overall in the restaurant. Overall the service is okay. They do not check if you finish the previous meal or not to decided to move on to the next dish which makes the table a bit crowded. Overall food was a bit sweet, and they ran out of the grape leave sausage which is my son’s favor. regardless it is a okay restaurant.

My friend took me here for 7 courses of beef. She is Vietnamese and her family used to go here when she was young, but then the owners/location changed, so they started going to a different place. The reason we chose this place on this visit was because it was open for lunch on a weekday, unlike the other place she now frequents. The interior is clean and the restaurant is mostly stone. We were the only diners during the entire lunch. Service was okay, although I was basically ignored as my friend conversed with our waitress entirely in Vietnamese. This was only the second time in my life that I’ve had 7 courses of beef, and I thought the food here was not bad. My friend actually ordered four of the seven courses a la carte, skipping the ones she doesn’t like as much. Prices I believe are comparable to most other 7 courses of beef restaurants. I thought Pagolac was alright, but again, I don’t have much to compare it to.

pretty standard Bo 7 Mon. my parents had raved that the old location closed and they had moved here so i was pretty excited to try it because i loved the old location. the parking is pretty spacious and thinking it would be really good there was pretty much no one inside(always the first sign things went downhill after moving). we ordered the 7 courses of beef which is the usual for me and highly recommend if you’re going to one of these restaurants. service ended up not being so good which is why i gave it such a low rating. they forgot to give us so many different utensils and forgot to bring a lot of our food. its kind of frustrating knowing that theres pretty much no one in restaurant and the servers are forgetting to bring things and aren’t attentive. food quality was okay but i have certainly had better. not sure i would return unless my parents truly wanted to but we all agreed its better to find somewhere else.

This place has been on my bookmark list for quite some time because I love beef and it sounds unique and interesting. Pegolac’s specialty is 7 courses of beef. It sounds like a lot of food. But, in reality, it is fairly light and you feel full after eating this but not completely stuffed. As you can see from my photo of the menu, the 7 courses will cost you $ 15.99. We also ordered a separate serving of the thinly sliced beef that you grill on a small grill in front of you fired by a small sterno which heats up the beef very well. You are provided an endless supply of round rice paper which appears initially to be thin layers of plastic which you dip in a small bowl of warm water and it becomes a soft wrap in which you place your various types of beef accompanied by thin slices of cucumber, raw banana(which has a light sweet flavor), bean sprouts, lightly pickled carrot slivers, fresh herbs such as mint and basil, and some other Vietnamese herbs that were very good and somewhat pungent. And, lastly, they provide you with a very good fish sauce to add some salty umami to the food. The various types of beef that were served were in sausage form, sliced and grilled beef, and lastly a beef/rice soup. I was provided thinly sliced beef that I dipped in a heated clear vinegar broth. They called it a beef fondue. My favorite servings of beef were the beef sausages and meatballs. There were three different types. Some were wrapped in a Hawaiian aromatic leaf. Others were small round pieces that had lots of flavor including herbs that I could not identify but were still very good. All were moist and very flavorful. The beef soup had a clear broth with pieces of beef accomapanied by rice. It was light in texture and flavorful. Overall, this was a very interesting and delicious meal incomparable to anything else that I have experienced or tasted.

Been to the old location since I was young. Craved it today on a Wednesday, but Unilocal said they were closed. I called JUSTTOMAKESURE, because I wanted it that bad and they were opened! They are open 7 days a week! The food is always good and delish. My rating is based on the food. The place is not quite 4 stars in cleanliness, but I’m okay with street food, so I’m not so picky about that. I didn’t see any roaches and wasn’t bothered by flies so I was okay. I always order the table grilled beef and shrimp. Its basically roll your own spring roll. Yummy! I want more now that I’m writing about it. I also get the fish sauce not the stinky«mum» sauce.

Not what it used to be no more or my palate has become quite sophosticated. This is fancy Vietnamese 7 courses of beef. Healthy eat but can be overwhelming even for me with the fermented fish sauce. Favorite is beef porridge with some pasta.

7 courses of beef. A fun experience if you’ve never tried it. This place has been around for years, although this is a new location. I’ve had 7 courses of beef a couple of times, and it’s not my favorite Vietnamese meal. In theory it should be one of my favorites, because it’s interactive, there is a lot going on, and there is a lot of food! However, there’s something about the pineapple fish sauce that I just can’t appreciate. All the different meats are good and nice to make spring rolls out of, but I don’t love any of the 7 courses so much that I would get it separately.(My favorite is the one wrapped in leaves & the soup) Lastly, the vegetables are pickled, and I would rather have them fresh. Despite all of of the things I don’t like(Lol) if I did, this place serves it’s purpose, it’s clean, has good ingredients, has quick service etc.

Wow I haven’t been to this place for years. Last time I went they were at a different location. Boy has the food quality changed. The beef tasted old and refrigerated, very little quantity for the price, the sauces watered down, the vegetables wilting, and only one server for the entire place during the dinner rush.

I have been coming to Pagolac for at least 20 years. Since I was a little kid with my family. It’s my favorite Seven Courses of Beef spot. The food is the best. The catfish is amazing! They provide plenty of greens, garnish and rice paper. Service is just ok though. Sometimes it’s great and other times it’s a little lacking but that is kind of typical for Asian family restaurants. Overall, I love this restaurant and I love taking my friends and family here. The new location is smaller but cleaner and nicer.

This place is ridiculous! I called on Monday to make a reservation for Wednesday at 7:30pm for a party of 9. On the day of our reservation, I kept calling them to confirm since I was introducing Vietnamese food to some Japanese people from out of town. No one picked up my calls and I got worried. We drove there anyway and guess what? THEYWERECLOSED! WTF?!? I made a reservation. They took down my name and number. Unilocal said they were supposed to be open too. Thanks for being so unprofessional, Pagolac.

Is this how Pagolac advertises?! With a sticker stuck on my driver side window that cannot cleanly peel off?!

I’ve never had 7 course beef, so I was looking forward to trying it… and it was fantastic! I have nothing to compare it to, but all I know is my tastebuds were happy. They lay out spring roll paper cut into fourths and water for dipping so that you can wrap your own springrolls with the beef you’re about to cook. It’s accompanied by an anchovy sauce, fish sauce, hot pepper sauce, and a variety of vegetables(lettuce, sliced cucumbers, plantains, bean sprouts, and various mint leaves). First, let’s start with the first course(Bo Nhung Dam). They lay out thinly sliced portions of beef, and you’re supposed to cook it by dipping it into a hot broth over a fire. You take the cooked beef and wrap it into a spring roll. Straightforward and so delicious. Then came a tray of various meatballs and various seasoned meats. One was wrapped in grape leaf and that was a personal favorite. The second to last course was a beef salad with sliced red onions. I loved the vinegared dressing — it was so light and refreshing after all that cooked beef. Finally, they end with a rice and minced beef soup that was really delicious. I could barely breathe at that point so only took a few sips. The service was excellent, they kept refilling our vegetables, water, and sauces without us having to ask. The courses came out quickly, and everything was on point. They even gave us this complimentary cold pandan tofu dessert that was the perfect end to a great meal.

I would say more of like 3 and a half stars just because the service is not that great but Then again this is a vietnamese restaurant in Westminster. I didn’t expect stellar service anyways. This was my first time here as I usually go to Thien An in Garden Grove for my Bo 7 mon fix. We ordered the 7 courses of beef, and an extra plate of bo nuong vi(marinated beef for grilling) and the catfish for 4 people. The food was very good, especially the bo nuong vi. Their marinade was delicious, we ended up ordering one more plate of that. My personal favorites were the bo la lot(beef wrapped up in lolot leaf) and the bo cha dum(steamed meatballs with shrimp chops). I love them shrimp chips. My only complaints, about the food, are that the 7 courses doesn’t come with goi(vietnamese salad) and the chao bo(beef porridge) wasn’t as good as others that I have had. The catfish was very good, but small and pricey, that and we waited close to maybe like 30 – 40 minutes for the fish. By the time it came out we were starving again. They’re very generous with the vegetables, rice paper and they were consistently checking up to make sure our water was still hot for the rice paper. Service was so slow. They had a lot of tables so we weren’t mad or anything, just extremely hungry. Funny story: it was my bf’s first time rolling a spring roll. I attempted to show him how it’s done. He of course didn’t listen and instead of making a spring roll made some sort of sushi hand roll looking thing. Lolll

Wow Pagolac moved! I used to come here with family for occasions as a child. The newer location is a lot smaller and in a less busy lot. They are known for their 7 courses of beef. It’s 14.99 per person and you get a lot of food. It also comes with spring roll paper, veggies, and more. It’s a Vietnamese thing to eat here and not many of my non-Vietnamese friends have had this. It was pretty empty when I arrived. The service was very friendly and on point. It was a very intimate dinner of 4. The first meat to come out is the thinly sliced beef to be dipped in a pot of vinegar water. 2nd was a dish with meatballs, wrapped beef in leaf, another type of meat ball, and thicker beef pieces. The last two dishes to arrive is a beef/rice soup and the last is another beef dish with onions, lettuce, and peppered dressing. Beef overload here. For you vegetarians this place is NOT for you. This place brings up a lot of memories as a kid. I enjoy it a lot more now than when I was younger. Recommendation: 7 courses of beef

Our family has always been a fan of the Pagolac at the old location near Bushard and Hazard. We thought they had shuttered, but apparently they moved to this location. It’s a really small joint now with a more family feel then the old location. I can’t say for certain that they are affiliated with the old restaurant, but that doesn’t matter because its about the food anyways. We usually go with the pre-set Bo 7 Mon and order two orders of them. Our favorite was the Cha Dum because it was made when we ordered and not reheated like a lot of places do. The other beef varieties were also very good and freshly made. The chao was a tad salty and the vegetables could have been a touch fresher but I’m still a fan. What started out as skepticism morphed in to a solid Bo 7 Mon place. I love the small feel of the place and the owners were absolutely hands on tending to whatever we needed. Not what you’d expect from a Vietnamese joint. Off the beaten path of Little Saigon, but worth a try if your craving Bo 7 Mon.
