This is a follow-up review to my earlier review. I’ve tried to go to El Maya two times in the past couple months and they’ve been unexpectedly closed when their hours show differently. Both times have been on a Saturday. I went this past Saturday around 6pm and they were closed, yet their hours state they are open until 8:30pm, what is going on?! It’s very frustrating when I drive all the way there to find out they are closed. I guess next time(if there is one) I’ll call before to make sure they are open, but I don’t feel I should have to each time. This has left a bad taste in my mouth!

The most delicious food with the most welcoming service. The shimp and barbacoa tacos and fresh horchata blew us away. YUM!

Best tacos I have had outside of California. Completey delicious. Also, everyone who works there, including Eric, the cook, are very nice. Do yourself a favor and come here soon.

My new favorite place. My visit for lunch last week was probably the best mexican food I have had in years. Quite possibly better than my favorite places in Arizona. Great people too. I asked for hot sauce and the woman was so proud because she made the space that day. She brought it out special for me and waited for my reaction. The sauce was perfection. Not too hot but enough heat to allow for great flavor and enjoyment of the dish still. so choice and so close. I am very happy!

It’s so hard to find good tacos in the area and El Maya is pretty delicious! They aren’t the best tacos I’ve ever had, but they are for the area in my opinion. It’s a very small place in a weird skinny building with limited seating, so it’s not the best to bring a big group here. Definitely try the trio tacos(beef, chorizo, chicharron) or the maya tacos(beef and chorizo)! The pupusas are also great.

This place was like an extension of my kitchen when I used to live nearby — the guys made me feel right at home and would make delicious food in front of me. What more could someone want?(absolutely nothing, that’s what) The prices are super reasonable and the portions are huge. I’ve tried sooo many things on their menu and I was never disappointed. I highly recommend that you try their: — pupusas; seriously they are so good, made super fresh and steamy hot, and deceptively filling — any plate with rice and beans: their beans are delicious and smoky; rice is seasoned with something amazing — lengua: marinated beef tongue is so tender and delicious I even impromptu/surprise brought a bunch of friends over for a Halloween or Birthday visit and the guys made every guest extremely happy and stuffed. Give El Maya a shot and you won’t be disappointed!

We did a large takeout order and was able to enjoy many different types of food from this wonderful local gem. Kids loved the cheeseburger quesadillas. They were huge! Carne asada came with rice and beans. Large portion to share. Chicken taco meal had three yummy and fresh tacos that could be an appetizer for three people or a generous meal for one. My fave items were the pupusas! We ordered cheese and chicharron. They came with a slaw and red sauce. Delish! Great I’m the toaster oven the next day. Can’t wait to get takeout from here again!

To keep things short, this was the best authentic Mexican food I’ve had in 30 years. Amazing service, amazing food. The staff were enthusiastic and personable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing by the area.

The owner is as sweet as can be — he put up with my substitutions and special requests :). The place was really small and cute and full of happy customers. Burritos were huge and delicious — one of the best veggie burritos I’ve had on the East Coast, the sautéed onions made it magical. Loved the homemade chips and salsa too

Glad to have found this gem! This is my new go-to if I’m in Natick in need of a quick bite. Great prices for some of the better«Mexican» food you get around the greater Boston area. First time round I got the al pastor burrito, cooked right in front of my eyes. Great flavor! My only pickle is that its packed in a box rather wrapped tight in foil, so it’s not quite a burrito I can drive and eat at the same time! Round two, I’m here for the maya taco and its just as perfect! I love the stool seating that faces the grill so you see the food cooked right in front of you.

Stopped by for lunch and got awesome carne asada tacos. They’re reminiscent of the kind of good street taco you can get all over the west coast. Glad to come across a good taco place out here. They’re a good value too. I’ll be back to try the nachos…

The pupusas are excellent. Also had a quesadilla — filling and tasty. You can tell care goes into the food.

I was craving shrimp enchiladas… it’s not on his menu… and the chef very graciously, very efficiently made a plate of some of the most delicious, authentic enchiladas I’ve ever had. It wasn’t crowded with a million ingredients; it wasn’t drowning in some amorphous cheese sauce. It was a few simple ingredients, perfectly cooked; and with a few dashes of his unique hot sauce, it was nirvana on a plate.

Chris @ Tostis Service Station recommended I go here for lunch and I am sooo glad I did! I had the Ranchero Tacos with just a little bit of the hot sauce and they were awesome!!! The steak was perfectly seasoned and I loved the soft tortillas. Great environment, awesome service and excellent food. Don’t pass on this place if you are looking for a great food spot. Went back to my favorite taco place in Mass and had the new Trio Tacos. They were awesome, glad to see they are adding to the menu. El Maya is a must try!

Probably the best tacos I’ve ever had. This place is definitely a hidden jewel. It’s a little off the beaten path, and it’s not much to look at on the outside, but the food and owners are equally great. I had the tacos alpastor, and I’d 100% get them again. Great food, great people.

We got takeout here, we had been wanting to try this place for weeks as the reviews look great. I was expecting it to be a bit more of a mexican taqueria. It has some standard mexican options, but with a twist. They have a buff chick and a bacon/chicken ranch option. We got take out burritos, but next time I would want to eat it there so it is warm. I think the experience is better if you sit there and eat. I would like to go back, the burrito was good and big portions. Staff was friendly.

Simple, straightforward, honest to goodness food. The flavors were fantastic in a way that simple food is. Tacos were just meat, chopped tomatoes, onions and cilantro served with homemade salsa and fresh limes to squeeze. So simple yet delicious I also indulged in the pupusas– what is that you say? It’s basically a corn based dough that is stuffed with deliciousness(such as pork and beans), the flattened and grilled to perfection. I know they are a labor of love but man are they good. The servers and owner were very nice. I hope they do will here. It is such a small space but seems to be perfectly intimate. My only suggestion would be about the interior– it needs some love in terms of tile and paint, but I think the food may make up for it.
