This was the best place for a hair cut in Metrowest. Always a great job and a really great deal. I would have easily paid twice what they charged because i was always very happy with Cathy. I sure hope they open back up.

Nooo! I just called to make an appointment and they are closed.
I loved Kathy and Vu– they took care of my hair and eyebrows for YEARS. Kathy and Vu– I’ll follow you, wherever you are!

Sadly, after trying to call and finally stopping by, Kathy states that the salon is permanently closed. She was not aware of exact relocation plans for herself or Vu at this time. Good luck ladies.

Where are Kathy and Vu??? I’ve been calling but it seems the phone is disconnected. I even drove there but the place was locked up and lights were off. Please don’t tell me they’ve gone out of business!!!

Hellooo? I tried calling all last week to make an appointment but nobody answered. I figured that Kathy and Vu were on vacation. I called again today… there was no ringtone, just «I’m sorry, your call could not be completed at this time, please try again». Where did you go ladies?: (
My hair is growing longer and won’t cut itself. I don’t know who to trust or turn to!

I can only speak to your typical guy haircut, but I’m a big fan of this place. I’ve gone in 3 times now — easy location, plenty of parking (huge lot), great price, and both Vu and Cathy give a great hair cut while being very friendly and fun to speak with. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that I was spoiled by years of getting the warm neck shave at my last place… but good price, great for call-ins or just take a peak in the window on the way by.

Just as cheap as the Hair Cuttery only so much better, they give you a nicer cut at only $ 16. The women there are unbelievably nice and stylish too. I love that it is only a few minutes walk from my apartment and they took me in without even an appointment. Five stars!!!

I posted in my other account below, but I changed my mind –
I went to a professional salon, and they corrected whatever Modern Salon did to my hair. Modern Salon bleached my hair for highlights without any toner, leaving my hair brassy.
That’s an unfinished color job. I even had to fix up my haircut, so pretty much my visit to Modern was a waste of time and money. I wouldn’t even call them back because I wouldn’t trust their hands.

I started going to this hair salon when I went to Framingham State College because it’s literally right across the street. I went to a couple crappy hair stylists there until I met Kathy Do. Her and her sister run the place and she is by far the best hairstylist there, so you should ask for her by name. I have since graduated and moved to Boston and still travel back there for the occasional hair cut. The place is clean, the décor is modern (hahaha, get it?), and the prices are unbelievably affordable for the quality you receive. You could definitely pay 4x more somewhere else. 5 stars! :)

I’m still a happy customer at Modern Hair Salon. Vu always cuts my hair, but she was on vacation the last time I went, so Cathy (or Kathy) cut my hair. She did an excellent job and I loved it! I will always go to Vu, but if Vu is ever unavailable, I know I will still get a great haircut when I go here.

What a great deal for such amazing service! The staff was so friendly and I got the haircut that I’d be paying 4 times as much for at a salon.
(The other chain hair cutteries in Framingham are just about the same price.)
My only advice is to make an appointment because they book up quickly and otherwise you’ll be sitting a while for an open spot.
