What’s not to like about The Chicken Bone? Ok, the inside makes it seem like a biker bar(and it is frequented by bikers I think) but that shouldn’t dissuade anyone from going here. This is the best wing joint I have ever visited. The fact that it has a similar Unilocal rating to Wings Over is terrible(and I like Wings Over, just not nearly as much as The Chicken Bone). Obviously, you go here for the wings, and they are good. The sauce selection is amazing, with my favorite easily being smoky-yakki(or however you spell it). Delicious. The burgers are also quite good(especially if you get a side of some wing sauce to dip, but that might just be me. They’re still good on their own without sauce). I prefer to take out from the chicken bone, but I used to eat there on a weekly basis a few years back when I worked down the street(I miss that).

Tried to meet friends here for lunch today and they weren’t open. Their website said they closed for the summer but would reopen in October. I’m thinking that didn’t happen. :(

This place has been going downhill for years. It was once a great place to eat and drink.

It’s November 1st. Still closed. Supposedly the original owner has taken over the business but is having some difficulty getting the licensing in order. Also, the reason it was closed in June has more to do with health department inspections and what they found than anything else. Good luck to the new(old?) owner. It’s going to be a tough road back to respectability for The Bone.

This weekend we went to The Chicken Bone to meet up with some friends, and have to say that we were really disappointed with our experience. When we walked into the restaurant, they had live music playing which was great. The only issues was that since it was such a small restaurant, the volume was too intense and it was almost impossible to hear your own thoughts. After we found a spot to sit down we bought some beers and ordered some food. This was our first mistake. The drinks here were not priced, very overpriced, and the food overall was terrible. We bought an order of nachos which came out weirdly burnt but undercooked. The chips themselves were burnt in spots, but the cheese was not melted at all. We also ordered some wings which were also overpriced, and when we received them they were not sauced, but instead were overcooked and dry. I had to dip them in sauce instead of being able to dig into them. The only truly edible food choice was their steak and cheese which was fairly good. The bathrooms at this restaurant were gross, and as we were leaving for the night we had to stop and help a woman who fell on the way out. She was so intoxicated that she missed the last step and landed on her face. This was scary because there was no one available from the restaurant to help her, and the doorman was nowhere to be found. Overall, this is not a place I think we will visit again. The only redeeming factor about the whole night was that our waiter was great, but it was obvious that he was split between the whole restaurant.

Best wings around!!! Great selection of flavors, great blue cheese! I am suprised this place isnt busier actually. Atmosphere is much more family friendly than it was back in the day. Good pizza as well. 2 thumbs up!

Great Wings and Fries! Location is nicely placed fro commuters. I have always had good food and service. The do have bands in the evening on weekends, the atmosphere is drastically different and it isn’t my scene. However, some may enjoy. We just found it too loud to enjoy our company and meal.

I used to liked this place for their take-out tenders until last friday. I ordered the usual buffalo chicken fingers. I was told that it would be about 20 min. I waited the 20 minutes and then went to pick up the wings. The guy at the pick up station said it wasnt ready. about 45 minutes later, they finally think to check to see if my order was someplace else. The order had apparently been ready the entire time and I had to stand there waiting. The guy at the counter apologized and told me that the next time I called, I’d get a credit for the full price of my order(which was about $ 11). I called this Saturday and spoke with the manager. He said there was no credit in the system and he’d give me a $ 5 credit. I was promised the full $ 11. $ 6 isn’t usually a big deal, but it’s the principal. They lost my order had had me wait for 45 needless minutes and then they promised me full credit and refused to honor their promise. Not going to this place ever again, They can keep their $ 5 credit. Wings over Framingham has comparable chicken tenders and better fries. I’m sticking to them from now on.

Really delicious wings! This place is also surprisingly fun on the weekends. There’s a band and everything. It’s an older crowd but pretty decent in terms of energy, food and service. Will be back for sure

You guys just make me sad. I used to drag people here to taste the great food, and would constantly order take out. I was there a few weeks ago and it was lackluster… then we get to tonight’s take out, and frankly… I feel ripped off. Of ALL the times to drop your quality so low, why do it when Wings Over Framingham is so good and reliable? The Grilled Chicken wrap didn’t contain the honey mustard sauce at all it was to come with. The HANDFUL of sweet potato fries that cost 5 bucks were cool and MUSHY… seriously, look at this picture. And I have to pay 99 cents to get a dipping sauce? Add in a delivery fee on almost $ 30 of food(and it was $ 5 for delivery)… you guys are weak now. It really saddens me. It used to be such an awesome place, but you sealed the deal — Wings Over won, and it’s only because you don’t care anymore. I’d post the picture of what my fries looked like, but I can’t… guess that’s a good thing.

Good quality tenders! Whenever I’m in the mood to just relax, watch football, drink beers and eat tenders order from the Chicken Bone. I must say that the quality of food has gone up since their renovation and the restaurant feels a lot more inviting. I usually order the thermonuclear wings and they have quite the kick to them without an overwhelming taste of spicy. I like that their tenders are big in size and have much quality meat to them. Awesome and keep it going! Only con is that are a bit overpriced, so I sometimes find myself buying wings elsewhere.

HEYRODENBRRGER!!! How dare you! You were«rescued» by John Taffer who put you in your place and saw what a disgusting place you have. Now after John ever so graciously gave his time, energy and heart you pull this same crap! How dare you. Just two weeks ago me and my three children and my wife visited your place and my kids were sick after. We thought it was just cause they are kids, maybe you gave them salmonella. Unbelievable. I thought you were a man of honor, I guess not. Why not sell the business now, and pick up your other failing businesses slack. Have fun sleeping comfortably knowing you are putting people’s lives at risk. You should be ashamed And to think I thought John Taffer was too hard on you when he called you a failure and that you couldn’t run a business. I thought he was wrong. Nope he was right. You are what john said you were. Should have listened to him from the start of he has rescued over 800 bars afterall. Guess he failed on this one. We are getting Chicken Boned. You’re SICK!!!

So disappointing! My wife and I recently moved to Framingham and wer are very close to the Chicken Bone. Everyone told us to check it out, for the holidays my brother and his family got us a gift certificate to the chicken bone. We do a lot of take out. We ordered a little bit of everything. We were hoping the fries and burgers would be good enough to replace, or at least be an ok alternative to, Lee’s in Newton. It was not. The food was nothing special and though I can imagine it was better in the restaurant, it did not age well on the car ride home. We even gave it a second shot but still the food was gross. Luckily we found Pepperoncini’s. We will be going there for our take out needs.

Went here with friends for drinks and dinner on a night that a band was playing. I’m not sure if this is the case every night, or just on nights when they have live music, but this place was very loud and crowded, with a line out the door for the entire night. We stood around at the bar(which has beer, liquor, and wine) waiting for a table to open up, and one did after about ten minutes. One thing that I noticed right away: If you want to order from the bar, you honestly need to yell– it’s that loud, even before the band’s set starts. Our first waitress was nice and had a good sense of humor, but we were told halfway through that our waitress wanted to go home because it was nearing the end of her shift, so we were getting another. Both waitresses proceeded to wait on us for the next 40 minutes, resulting in duplicate drinks and forgotten sides and adaptations to entrees. One of us ordered an additional sauce, which she got as we were paying the check– not exaggerating. Now, I must say, I’m not a big fan of bar food or wings, so this isn’t really my scene– I wouldn’t have been interested in this place had my friends not wanted to check it out after seeing the Bar Rescue episode. However, I’m pretty sure that my nachos were not up to par by most people’s standards. It was clear that the toppings had all been taken out of a jar and refrigerated for hours, as they were served on the side in little plastic containers(am I weird for wanting my nachos pre-assembled and warm?). The«sexy fries» were just waffle fries with cheese whiz, which two of us thought was a turn-off and two of us thought was just great. Everyone other than me seemed relatively happy with their food(phantom wings, a cheese steak), so maybe it’s decent if you like bar food. But I just didn’t feel like the quality was there. I had ordered their margherita pizza for take-out once before, which was decent… but it tasted like a bar trying to make a more upscale dish(which it was). Nothing special. So if you’re into healthier, more upscale food, this isn’t a great place for you. But supposedly, the wings are the best in the area. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the people there were a diverse crowd, ranging from some not-very-classy-looking people(euphemisms…) to professionals grabbing a drink after work to a few older guys in cowboy hats(can’t explain that one). I saw people in their very early twenties all the way through their fifties and sixties. Hard to say what type of person comes here, or what kind of bar this is– the décor is divey, but it seems to be frequented by all kinds of people, and lots of them. Additionally, once the band started, it was totally impossible to carry a conversation, and we were definitely not sitting right in the front. If you just want to hang out with friends and have dinner and drinks, I wouldn’t recommend doing it here on a night when they have live music. We dashed out because it just wasn’t enjoyable anymore. Note: If you are under 21, you will not be able to get in here– they will even hassle you for your ID if you are picking up take-out.

The place is nice you should try and get there by 9pm as post that there is a live band that plays keeps the atmosphere more lively. Best Chicken wings eaten ever in the USA. And large pizza are really large. It should cost 60 $ to 70 $ for two with lots of alcohol to drink a normal meal without drinks should be about 30 $ for two. A must try place.

I can’t tell you how many times we have given them a 2nd chance over the past 7 years, but this was our last. The food quality was going downhill until they had the Bar Rescue show come, there was just a brief blip of quality, and now back to low quality. I would say the ONLY thing going for them food wise is their sauce’s, but the quality of the«legendary» wings was very poor and small, and VERY overpriced at $ 10 for what you get. I also got a «buffalo» chicken calzone that had almost no buffalo to it, I had to break out a lot of Frank’s to even get close. And their sexy fries, for $ 4 got like ½ of the amount of fries you get Wings Over or other places. Very sad, as it was great years ago, but this was the last straw and just done with them.

This place certainly has a strange vibe. As others mentioned, the crowd varies. A wide assortment of people. They have a decent beer selection, big menu with lots of smaller additions. The food was good. Got two types of wings and enjoyed both. Sweet potato fries were better than the regular fries. Service is the biggest and only complaint I have. Slow and uninterested seem like good descriptive words for how you’re served. But that’s okay, I wasn’t expecting a 5-star dining extravaganza, but it was a fun meal at a friendly place. I enjoyed the meal… minus having a mouthful of beer spit all over me by the guy sitting next to us.

This place suddenly has new menus and ALOT has changed… for the worse… Pros: Decent wings. Live bands on some nights. TV’s for watching the game, though don’t expect to hear them. Cons: First, let’s start with the $ 10 all-you-can– eat wings and $ 5 pizza promotion on Sunday nights… IT’S GONE. The best deal in town is extinct. This is very disappointing. They did away with trivia nights as well. The majority of the waitstaff and bartenders are surly and rude. There are a few exceptions, as I hate to generalize too much. I suspect the owner of this place is really trying to squeeze every dime out of the customers and hiring sub-par staff. Our most recent visit was terrible. The worst part was being lied to. We wanted to order two more blue cheeses for our wings, because they skimp by giving you ONE. We ordered 18 wings, but since only half were Buffalo, we were denied TWO blue cheeses. WOW. Ridiculous. So we wanted to order TWO more of them, which are 99 cents a piece… fine. So I asked our waitress and she said that we should order the celery and carrots side dish, because it was a better deal and we”d get the blue cheeses with that add on for a better value than buying them alone. First of all, who doesn’t add Celery and Carrots for FREE with wings… EVERY place does. Not the The Bone, anymore! 99 cents for blue cheese? 50 cents is the norm, but ok, not going to complain over 49 cents inflated price. So, celery and carrots arrive… a tiny plate, mind you. and we got ONE blue cheese, not even the TWO I told her we wanted. When the bill came, $ 3.99 for a few carrot and celery sticks, and only one Blue cheese. Ridiculous. I don’t know where she went to school, but two blue cheeses for 99 cents are $ 1.98… half the price of getting one blue cheese and some tiny veggie sticks. It’s not the price that mattered, but rather having the waitress straight up lie to us and not even gettting what we wanted by letting her suggest the ‘best value’. Overall: The Bone has gone downhill. We used to love going here, but it’s not the same anymore. With the fancy new menus came huge price hikes, no more deals, and what seems like a surly staff trying to nickle and dime you at every turn. Buff’s pub in Newton still beat The Bone. And to be honest, I’d drive to Buffalo Wild Wings for the selection, cheaper prices, and friendlier staff, rather than go back to The Bone. So disappointed.

Stopped in the«chicken» Bone a week or so ago, nearly walked right back out. Waited at the door for a bit, and tired of being ignored I sat at a table by the bar. Probably not the right choice, had to ask the barmaid twice to send someone over. Once we got a waitress, the service improved, the food on the other hand was just OK. The wings were a decent size, but I found the Phantom sauce too mild for my taste. I did like the Sexy waffle Fries. The cheese wiz sauce right beside was rather weak. What really threw me was the mix of people in the place. College kids and retiree’s shoulder to shoulder at the bar, ladies fresh from work seated next to a group having a child’s(like 7rs old) birthday party at a table for 12. Quite the mix, and really unpleasant when the rug rats were set loose. Won’t be headed back.

Dear fellow Unilocaler, I was an advocate and walking advertisement for The Bone until tonight. On this night, they failed me. I gathered my friends for a splendid game of trivia accompanied by delicious $ 10 endless wings, something we have grown accustomed to do on Sundays. And TODAY I was informed that they have permanently CANCELLED trivia and REMOVED endless wings from the menu. Needless to say, my friends and I were DEVASTATED. We left a solemn note with a pledge to never enter that establishment again.(sadly) Signed, Grieving former patron
