Coho is a step up in the Frankfort echelon of culinary establishments. I went twice the last time I was home. I would have given Coho a Five Star but the patio was hot! I had their whitefish. It’s was delicious. My son’s mac cheese was right out of the box, so don’t order it with for an adult. Overall, this place is fantastic. Great service.

Wonderful meal and fun friendly staff. We started with steamed mussels. They were perfectly cooked. The broth was so good, it could have been a soup. We shared the smoked beet salad. It was delicious. The goat cheese dressing on the smokey beets and kale were a good pairing. Our meals were the braised pork shank and the trout almandine. Both were great. Th ingredients are locally sourced from Michigan. I also recommend the Adult Lemonade. It is made with herb infused lemonade. Loved it.

Friday night at 6PM, no wait inside but the outdoor seating overlooking the water was sold out for the night. Cocktails were excellent, try the Michigan Mule! Focus is on Michigan products which I love! Service was very good as was the food. Our foursome had whitefish, hangar steak, chicken cordon bleu and bouillabaisse with curry Thai broth. The bouillabaisse was average but the other entrees were very good. Local bread rolls were also excellent! Overall we would all recommend Coho!

Stopped here for a late lunch and was one of two tables in the whole restaurant around 3:30. Slow service, forgotten drink, no check back after food and had to ask for check. Gwendolyn was the server and offered no apology for slow kitchen, in fact no empathy at all. Sorry to take you away from your side work but I think as a customer I should be the priority. Also, best to wait until the whole table has left the establishment BEFORE you make jokes/snarky remarks. Very unprofessional.

Whitefish sandwich($ 12) with remoulade was fantastic. Fresh fish, fresh bun, fresh sauce – five star. Wander from that local speciality and things fall off. The vinegar on the salad tasted like they bought a gallon from Sam’s that they also use for cleaning the counter. Whitefish it!

This is our third time at Coho’s in 4 years. We come via an annual boat trip around Lake Michigan. This is always consistently delicious with fabulous service. We recommend this place to land lubbers and boaters alike. BTW… The homemade carrot cake is the best in Michigan

This was a nice, small restaurant to enjoy lunch. We happened to be in a hurry and got out within 20 minutes. Their special happened to be a barbecue pulled pork sandwich, and it was delicious with a nice glaze of chipotle bbq sauce. Their kettle chips were also amazing. We also enjoyed being surrounded by pictures and paintings up for purchase. Overall, a nice stop.

Yet another great option in Frankfort. Everything they do has an interesting twist. Great selection of well executed seafood dishes. Can’t go wrong. The Hanger steak is excellent and for those looking to expand the palate, I highly recommend the Thai-Coconut Bouillabaisse. Haven’t tried the Rabbit Vindaloo or the Emu Stroganoff, but they will be part of the next visit. Nice wine list and craft beers, plus a full bar. Solid from start to finish.

Love love the Coho Café. We go there often and always enjoy our experience. Couple changes this year. You can no longer look out onto the street as they put up longer curtains which in some ways is good for the ambiance however I prefer for us to see the quaint Frankfort. They serve olive oil with red pepper flakes with the most delicious bread. They no longer add grated Parmesan which I missed. We had wonderful mussel appetizer in the best broth. Some of the best broth around. Downside is they do not serve any bread to soak up the broth. You can get an extra roll for an additional $.75. Sorry to hear that when you are paying premium prices for dinner. The tuna was superb but missed the sesame seeds. The dip is a nice Asian spicy sauce. The pan seared rigatoni was good. The chicken was very salty and the rigatoni did not have a sear on them but was still very tasty. We will go back and try some more very soon

We’ve been dying to try this restaurant for years but have somehow never been in town on the right day at the right time. Finally — FINALLY — we were able to enjoy a meal here. And I do mean enjoy — tasty ale-cheddar soup, velvety but not too thick; aromatic rabbit ragout over polenta; emu stroganoff(believe it or not, a staple on the menu, with locally sourced emu) that was full of umami goodness, creamy but not too rich. We had a great time. The Coho is proud to partner with many local farms and a local fishery, and also offers a nice selection of local/regional wines, beers and distilled spirits. It’s a little spendy, but no more so than similar restaurants in our less picturesque, less foodie-friendly and less prosperous part of the state. We’re really glad to have visited here… it won’t be the last time.

We hit this place the day after Labor Day when many other places in town were closed. Had a hankering for some Lake Michigan whitefish before I headed home for the season. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The prices were a bit high — $ 24 for an entrée — the portions were large and we probably could have gotten away with splitting a plate for the split plate charge.

The goat cheese and leek dip was amazing. I ordered a pasta special that was very tasty as well. The salmon special was a bit dry. However, they accommodated our large party quite nicely and our server, Janelle, gave us exceptional service. A nice place to try in town.

Perfect lunch menu. Had to pass on the Coho wines(from Carneros) available by the bottle since we were having lunch but the whitefish cake wrap was outstanding. The cole slaw was colorful and looked good but bland but many other sandwiches and salads on the menu made it hard to choose. The creamy warm leek and goat cheese dip was indulgent and delicious. Make sure to sit out back on the large covered patio — when you walk by the front you may not be aware of the scenic seating.

Trendy place, nice décor, friendly waitstaff, salad and sandwich menu at lunch. I think there was one pasta item that could have been called an entrée. We paid $ 30 for lunch, on the high end considering my wife just had a spinach salad and I had the hangar steak/blue cheese sandwich with coleslaw. Trendy, decent, but overpriced. Perhaps the prices have gone up in Frankfurt now that it considers itself a tourist«mecca.» I would try other places before I go back.

The family stopped here on are way home from Traverse City Michigan. We ate off of the lunch menu and it was very tasty. The dinner menu looked really good. We sat out on the patio, which had a nice view of the harbor. For a small town this was a nice addition, still doesn’t measure up to the food heave found in Traverse city. We would stop here again.

Very disappointing. Poor service, lost reservation, no accommodation. Ruined the evening. We will never go there again!

The food and service at Coho CAfe was absolutely phenomenal ! My friend and I each had the beet soup which was seasoned to perfection, not only remarkably tasty but so nutritious. We each also had a yummy Michigan Salad with crisp romaine lettuce and plumb dried cherries topped with a sprinkle goat cheese. Our husbands each had a steak which my guy described as being the«best steak he has ever tasted» The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The prices of the entrees are appropriate for the exquisite quality of the food. Our great hosts at Wayfarer Lodging highly recommended this restaurant. We are so grateful to them to leading us to this amazing place!

The special, a blue cheese halibut, was delicious, as was the rest of our food. I was also pleased to see experienced waiters on staff. After dealing with a bunch of teenage seasonal help in Frankfort, being served by waitstaff who knew their game was a real treat. Helpful and prompt without being intrusive. This is the best place we ate in Frankfort.
