It was very busy with it being Memorial Day weekend! We came to Stormcloud really hungry, I wish we would have looked at the food menu right outside the door before we went in. We took a chance and went right to find a table since it is a ‘seat yourself’ kind of place. The waitress seemed very busy so service was slower that it probably normally is. The beer menu seemed pretty diverse. The boys got beer, us girls settled for non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered the brat bites, and they honestly weren’t my favorite, kind of rubbery if you ask me, but the chips were SOGOOD!!! Reading through the reviews I wish we would have got a pizza! I figured I would try the boys’ beer. I preferred the Confederate Gold, which I believe is seasonal. Tasted exactly like Blue Moon but with a peach undertone instead of orange. Not too bad! I’d go back, definitely a nice brewery in the heart of Frankfort.

First off, Love the name. They have a great beer selection with lots of cool eclectic names. From stouts to lagers they brew everything themselves and seem to have won a lot of awards for it. They have good pizzas and appetizers. We had the Sicilian pizza which was a special and it was delicious. They have a nice bar and patio, but seemed a little small. When we went on a Sunday night the place was packed. This is definitely one of the nicest places in the area and worth a stop if you’re driving up M 22.

A great place for a cold brew and pizza while in Frankfort. A nice selection of beers and our family enjoys their wide variety of pizza toppings. For desert their cinnamon bits are really tasty :)

This place was so fun. They have great outdoor seating which was nice on a sunny day. Had a couple of beers and a club sandwich. The sandwich was made with fresh bread from a local bakery which was delicious. The beer was also good. I had the Belgian Triple and the Saison. They had a large selection of hoppy beers which aren’t really my thing so I didn’t have any. I would recommend this place to beer lovers visiting the area.

My friend and I were visiting Frankfort and heard so many recommendations to visit Storm Cloud Brewing. However we were unbelievably disappointed. The one star that I am giving is only because the beer was good, especially their barrel aged beer was absolutely delicious. But the food was greasy and had no actual flavor. We ordered the roasted root flat bread which had no flavor and a very oily texture, the spicy rustic italian sandwich was also greasy and stale. Overall I did not enjoy the food I had there, however I do recommend their beer.

Wonderful food and beer. Wonderful, warm service. But what I really admire about this place is that it attracts a diverse clientele(age wise, hipness wise, local vs tourist wise) where EVERYONE feels welcome and everyone(vegan, carnivore, teetotaler, alcohol Imbiber, old young, tourist, local) can cobble together a meal’s worth of delicious foods When you go to a rather new place(that is, new in the last 5 years) you can see right off the bat if it’s A) someone’s head trip, wherein they’re giving you what they want to give you or B) a real, true going concern, where they’re giving the public something they want. This place is the latter. And hooray for that!!! We had a great waitress. She took care of the whole room and made it look easy and fun.

Food was delicious. Brownie dessert a must. Cheddar Bacon dip yummy smoke flavor not simply chunks of bacon in cheese. Atmosphere comfortable and fun for all ages and all ages represented. Would go back many times.

We are from Grand Rapids and came into the downtown looking for a great food and beer experience. We found it at Stormcloud. The food was great. The beer was plentiful and delicious. The wine was easy to drink with clean flavors. And our server was so sweet and attentive. We had all 15 beers available that day. We enjoyed them all. I would suggest the Saison de Stormcloud. It was our favorite. We got the pretzel bites and the hummus to share. Both were delicious. The pretzel bites came with a spicy, full-flavored mustard. The hummus was obviously house made. It didn’t have the wet texture store bought hummus often comes with. Both plates were plentiful and flavorful. We very much enjoyed our experience. We will be back next time we around.

Yeah, a great place. I’m sorry I didn’t try the food. Stormcloud, is one of those iconic microbreweries, where buying the long sleeve tee shirt is a mandatory thing in obtaining your microcoolness. Being there and drinking a flight is just another way to lose that I have nothing to live for feeling. Suddenly, I found myself liking Michigan, If I lived in Frankfort, I would be virtually an everydayier here. The staff is snappy, and witty, and always there for your order. I kinda liked it, that they didn’t know what a snake bite was(half dark lager+half cider). But, the vibe in this place was great, friendly people and absolutely terrific beer. I’m sold! Sorry to say I only had the baked brie, and it was good pub fare. I did want more, as their hamburger looked exciting and the poutien did too.

Stopped in for a late Sunday dinner. I ordered the IPA and thought it was quite good We ordered 2 flatbread pizzas, Thai One On, which was a shrimo and Satay pizza. Quite good. The other was Rider on the Storm which had house made sausage, apple, goat cheese and onion. It too was quite good. The crusts on both were perfect, just enough crunch. We ordered some popcorn for Sunday Night football. It was okay, but not worth $ 5. All in all we were very happy!

Location is perfect! I wish this place would’ve been around when I was living in northern michigan! Anyway, the beer is good. They were sadly out of the one I wanted to try the most(under a cherry sky) so that was a slight bummer. This place would have led me to give them 4 stars, if the service wasn’t sub par. I sat at the bar and was ignored for at least 10 minutes. I realize it was a weekend evening but it wasn’t that busy and quite a few servers looked at me and didn’t say anything. Wow. Then I actually was able to order something and when I asked for a recommendation the bartender acted annoyed and rude. Sorry but that’s part of the job… Change the attitude. I thought it was just me but a lady approached the bar and waited for quite a while because TWO servers looked at her and then quite literally walked away… So rude. I might come again but I hope the service is better. The food looks good and I would like to try it out.

Stopped in on a summer Sunday for dinner, and a table was immediately available. *I drank Leelenau Pale Ale, and gluten-free Therese H. drank Mead. Really, Mead. I had a sip, and it was very good. *Greens and veggies are locally sourced, and worth every penny we paid for the market salads. Get it with chicken, mine was smoky delicious, not like your typical grilled chicken on a salad. *Our flatbread pizzas were unique and wonderful, Therese H. ate«Rider on the Storm» on a GF-crust, and I ate the«Stormavore.»

There’s something about the outright creativity and passion of a craft brewery. Stormcloud Brewing Company is one of those places where you feel it when you walk into the building. The atmosphere is cozy yet lively and fun. The food is excellent and delicious. And the beer is varied and I think there’s something for everyone on tap. Overall it’s a great place and I’m glad to see them doing so well.

Was in the area and decided to swing in, happened to be their 2nd anniversary party, so it was really busy. Took 10 minutes or so to wait for a table to open up. Finally got a table and was greeted fairly quickly by a nice waitress we ordered some popcorn and a flight, popcorn and beer were great! Seems like a nice place, kind of a weird vibe, but overall good.

I get mad when people call their beer Belgians and then produce Budweiser steroid beer. Nothing here worthy of being called Belgian unless you’re the sort who thinks delirium tremens is a good Belgian. Dubbel tasted like water and the tripel had as much character as a marshmallow. But when they didn’t try to push the Belgians and did their own thing: cuclear fusion(a wheat aged on cucumbers) and local sourced IPA it was great. Pizza was mediocre but better than Papano’s next door. Service was excellent and the place was hopping. Four stars because the owners a great guy and we are in Northern Michigan and it’s all relative. Two stars anywhere civilized.

Two years ago, I traveled to Frankfort for the first time and Stormcloud Brewing had opened up only a few days before we arrived. We sampled a variety of beers and loved every one of them. Stormcloud also has lots of great food and you will not regret getting a pizza. Over the past two years, we have visited Frankfort /Stormcloud twice. The Rainmaker Ale is a well-balanced belgian pale ale and I loved it. I’ve also had the 228 Tripel and it was FANTASTIC — exactly what a tripel should taste like. The Birdwalker Blonde was light and fruity. I had a couple of Meads last summer but forget exactly what they were called… but I do remember enjoying them quite a bit! I’ve never had a bad beer here and I look forward to returning later this summer/fall! We always opt to sit outside when we visit and its nothing short of perfect. I think I just need to quit my job and move to Frankfort.

In a nutshell: Decent gazpacho, very good pizzas, terrific jam covered brie, excellent fish pâté and a clunker of a charcuterie plate. Swung by here with a large group(my parents, sister, nieces, nephew, husband and myself) to nosh and sample. The restaurant is pretty damn casual. You have to order at the counter and with a group, this was not easy. After the app round they finally came to us and that helped. The meal was a mish mosh of getting up then having stuff brought, etc. I did not love the style but the staff was super friendly at any rate. The apps were hit or miss. The fish pâté was mild but super tasty. Served with everything crackers and oven toasted pita, it was creamy and satisfying. The brie was ooey gooey and comes with your choice of jam. My niece Claire and I would have preferred the hot pepper varietal but as it was for everyone my niece Olivia opted for the sweet slightly apple-y/blueberry jam on special(I forget the name of it but it was really good). The brie was enjoyed by all with more pita and some Carr’s water type crackers. The bowl of gazpacho my mom sampled was quite nice, not my fave ever but certainly respectable. The charcuterie was ummm interesting. The meats were fine, the pickles, triple cream cheese, mustard and peppers were downright awesome. The spicy jellied aspic was again, interesting. The raisiny chutney was good-ish. The onions were too curried to go with anything. The pâté was a very odd shade of dark grey and tasted crumbly and metallic. I ate some to be a sport but it quite frightened the rest of the table, including my parents who are firm fans of liver. My biggest beef was that nothing was harmonious on the platter, the mixing and matching produced bad combinations of flavor. Also for a large serving it did not feed much at all, overpriced and just too many ick items that either tasted nasty or did not cause any harmonious pairings. Just a disappointment. Skip this, as a charcuterie fan I say just give it a pass. The pizzas were all good. The star of the show was the Thai shrimp one with the peanut sauce drizzle. Win to my mom, everyone at the table wanted to steal hers. James and my nephew stuck with the kiddo, a plain cheese and pepperoni deal. My dad opted for the stormavore and was thrilled, meats and mushrooms, hard to hate on that. My sister and nieces went for riders on the storm with goat cheese. The apple and sausage paired really well on it. My pick was the root with roasted beets, parsnips. turnips and corn, carmelized onion and garlic, topped with goat cheese and a horseradish sour cream. It was absolutely awesome but definitely not for everyone. I was in heaven but no one wanted to trade slices with me, sigh, kids. The drinks were good for all. They had lemonade that made the nephew happy, Northwoods soda Lake Effect(a pomegranate lemonade soda) for my nieces, who even got a couple to go. The beer sampler option rocks but take my advice and just order the beach Buddha. Clearly a star of the beer. The rest were good enough but that recommended beach Buddha is what you will crave later. Definitely a place worth a whirl. Avoid the charcuterie and you will likely five star it.
