Ordered Skinny Dip and Kale Salad. Flavor of burger was good but they serve it on a basket with paper. Seriously? Who can cut a burger on plastic paper without eating plastic paper too? The kale salad was loaded but in a small tilted bowl. Almost spilled while trying to cut it. Son got chicken fingers kids meal and chicken batter was very peppery. Fries were good. Kids meal is free on Saturdays if you spend $ 10 so that was a plus. All in all, good food but the plate service(or lack thereof) needs work.

Great burgers, fries, chicken, salads. They need a different way to serve the bunless burger — cutting with a knife and fork on a plate covered by wax paper leaves you with bits of the wax paper on your bites. Otherwise a good joint.

I don’t know how this place has such rave reviews. Very very very bland burger. Huge chunks of fat in the burger too. The bacon on my burger wasn’t really cooked at all either. I left half of the thin patty sitting there. Fries have something on them which looks amazing, yet no flavor. So I paid $ 14 to leave hungry. Disappointing. Also, don’t go in thinking they have milkshakes. They don’t! :/

Ground, located in Cool Springs off Carothers near Puffy Muffin, is in the old Jamaicaway spot. I’m always up for some variety for weekday lunch, so my friend and I headed over to try it out. You can order starters, burgers, baked potatoes, and salads, or build them custom. It’s a sparse and casual setting, but it’s clean and friendly at the same time. No frills, just locally and regionally sourced ingredients and good food. I chose to build my own baked potato, while my friend had a burger. His assessment on the burger is that it was solidly good, not incredible, kind of meeting that middle ground(and price point) between a fast food burger and a high-end specialty burger(like Burger Republic). Next time I’ll have to try one. My spud was hot, fresh, tasty, and it had a kick in the pico de gallo with some pepper seeds. Whew! Overall, I’m not craving a meal at Ground, but it may occasionally work its way into my Cool Springs lunch rotation.

Came here with a former coworker for lunch. We were greeted by a guy wearing gloves who gave us the menus, took our order and tried to cook our food wearing those same gloves. I asked him to change(after all he touched the menus, counter, money and etc). We both ordered burger and fries. The burger was very average. Nothing special just a burger that I continued to taste through the day. I never in my life by burped as much as I did that day. There is nothing worst than tasting your food after you burp — just in case you don’t know it doesn’t taste the same when it went down. My former coworker didn’t have the same burping experience but she also stated she tasted her burger throughout the day. I really don’t see myself going back. Even if the good was good the fact I had to ask the cook to change gloves was a major turn off.

Super good and satisfying burger experience. Loved the fresh menu. I had he lettuce wrapped burger with the kale salad. So nice to have a burger and not feel like I went overboard. My hubs on the other hand had the spicy burger stuffed with jalapeños and said it was perfect. My kids loved their burgers as well and the apples my daughter had were so nice and fresh. I had some fries and spicy ranch. I had to confess. They were BOTH soooooo good! I hope this place does well bc it’s so good!

I wanted to love, but alas… The best part were the fries. Well seasoned and I got a side of spicey ranch to dip which was a great choice. Someone else commented about them needing a condiment bar and I agree 100%. Wife had the potato soup and salad pick two. The potato soup was blah, the salad was acceptable. The burger itself was good, but not Gabby’s good. They beat 5 Guys on the fries, but fell second on the burger. Good, give them a try.

Was skeptical having tried other expensive burger places only to be dissapointed but this place makes a good burger and fries for the money. Seems a bit expensive but I paid just under $ 12 for a bacon cheese onion burger, fries and a drink. That included the tax. Thats about what you would pay anywhere else thats not fast food. Fries are fresh cut and plentiful. Atmosphere is bland but the place is very clean. Open kitchen so you can watch them cook your food. They do have a drink refill station but no condiment bar. I really like condiment bars :) The service was quick and friendly. I could tell they appreciated my business. The burger was as advertised. Big and cooked to order. Some people would compare them to five guys. Well, the burger is better but I have to admit Five guys fries are the bomb. Grounds fries are awesome too and you may like them better.

Great local burger joint. Definitely will make it back and I look forward to seeing them add to their menu with some custom sauces and toppings to compliment their burgers and other offerings.

Just a quick review. Ground is a counter-service burger joint that features the spud, fried, baked and in soup. I have been twice and each time really enjoyed the burgers. Great fixings and bun as well as quality meat. French fries are also very, very good, and you get a plate-load of them, hot, fresh and crispy. I noticed a review or two of this place commenting on the high price but a burger and fries could easily feed two people for lunch. I have also had the chili here which is respectable, if not fantastic. Yes there are many Nashville area high-end burger places, but Ground certainly holds its own while offering a bit more variety.

It needs to stand out. Good burger and fries, but nothing worth high praise. Far from great. It’s another overpriced local meal in a market overfilled with as-good-to-better chain restaurant competition. Worth a visit, yet nothing really makes it stand above the others. I feel like my wallet went through the grinder along with the meat for my burger. Your milage may vary. The portions are large. Too large IMNSHO and with too many fries. Like the competition they overfill the plate with carbs and the excess ends up in the waste bin. Must be what hipsters want. I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger. It was ok, but the meat offered little to the flavor of the dish. The bacon was also a bland why-bother. The burger was so overjuiced that it was a dripping mess of soggy buns that simply couldn’t be eaten by hand. Disappointing. Real forks are available to compensate(the layout is a bit chaotic, but you’ll find them.) Ground boasts non-GMO ingredients. Ok. It drives up the prices, offers little to the taste of a patty already covered in a mélange of topping flavors, and probably thins the owner’s profit margin. It may appeal to some green-minded eaters. I prefer a good dining experience, overall. My reusable plastic cup was left for disposal. The menu includes extra toppings from every corner of gastronomic possibility. But you get one portion of catsup and no self-serve except for your drink. Controlling that already thin margin? Get up and ask for more… but…jeez.

The absolute best fries in Franklin. Fresh cut. Crispy. Potatoes are the standout here. For all you In-n-Out fans looking for those fries, they are here at Ground. That dish called the Ultimate Indulgence. Wow. American Poutine is what I call it. Fresh cut fries, ladled over with tasty chili, cheese, cool, bright green shredded romaine lettuce, and three cool scoops of sour cream, sprinkled with fresh chopped jalapenos. This is a spicy dish. Respectable heat. And enough food for 3 people. The burgers are freshly cooked on the griddle right in front of you. Beautifully put together. Fresh green romaine lettuce and red onion – what an excellent touch. And Benton’s bacon. Another excellent touch. The buns are perfect pillows for the patties. Not too soft and not too dense. The flat note was the burger meat was a bit over seasoned for my crew. We prefer our burgers with little seasoning other than salt and pepper. Maybe a ton of garlic if it’s available. But, no lost points for absence of obvious garlic. Here they cook the burgers medium well as a default but gladly made our burgers medium rare when we requested it. I think they actually came out medium. I had the kale salad. It had all my favorite things. Kale, cucumber, carrots, generous amounts of avocado and sunflower seeds. The green goddess dressing was obviously made in house. Very very good. I’d come here just for this and will try it with chicken next time – offered grilled or fried. Beer offerings by the bottle looked quite good to me and will have me back. We really enjoyed this place. Simple. All of our food was hot, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Simple. Good. We will definitely be back and will try to ask for our burgers unseasoned next time. Hope it will be available that way. What a delight to find this place nestled in the cluster of storefronts on Mayfield. Next, we want to try that promising BLT made with Texas Toast and also a giant baked potato. Remember, white potatoes have loads of potassium and they are good for you! Keep up the great work Ground folks. We’re cheering you on and will be back!

Came in here for lunch and it was super quick, good service. The meat was tasty — possibly enhanced by the implications made my the restaurant’s name. And the fries had a nice crisp to them. Would definitely go back here — wouldn’t go back everyday for fear of my heart stopping, but a solid, quick, tasty local burger.

What a find! Came here on a rainy Monday. It was empty of customers but a steady delivery and catering business was keeping the employees busy. I started with fried mushrooms– big baby portobellos hand-coated with a slightly spicy-sweet sauce. A great start! $ 5. The potatoes are huge. Splurge a dollar and get a jumbo — about 2 lbs. all the toppings you want including cheeses, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed or green onions, and real benton’s bacon. $ 8 reg or $ 9 jumbo. Sweet potatoes too. The burger is 5-guys style. All toppings, 1⁄3 lb — double is$ 3 more. Fresh ground beef very juicy and right off the grill. They have monster loaded fries I wish I had room for. Salads and a family deal I’ll come back for. Best option this side of Brentwood off Caruthers for any restaurant. P. s. Had to laugh at some reviews. Want more catsup? They bring it to your table. Want to clean up your own table? You can’t, the owner does it. Want to talk to a teenager«manager?» Again, you can’t. The local owner and manager are both friendly adults who take care of you. This is more like«10 Guys»(twice as good as the other place and a solid«10»)

Pros: good solid burger. ditto on the great seasoning for the burger mentioned by another reviewer. salad was good(apple and walnut) and nice size. didn’t feel like they were skimping. Cons: Fries were a bit mushy when they got home(to go order) since they’d been fried and packaged a while back. would have been better 5 guys style where they fry them and package them just as you get there.

Ground is an excellent new restaurant in Cool Springs. They serve burgers, salads and baked and sweet potatoes that offer a variety of toppings. All burgers come with your choice of fresh cut fries, potato or salad, and all dressings are homemade. You can order a specialized burger or create your own with a plethora of options to add to it. Since I’d been working outside and sweating all day, I decided to pass on the Four Alarm burger this time, but will definitely get that on my next visit! It is ground with jalapenos and jack cheese prior to cooking. I opted for the bacon and portabella mushroom topped with cheese and caramelized onions. My burger was perfectly cooked and flavorful. It was a very large burger, certain to satiate the largest of appetites. I selected the house salad as my side with green goddess dressing. The dressing was tangy and wonderful, and the salad was fresh and a healthy compliment to my not-so-healthy burger. To be a new restaurant, the party of 8 we sprung on them were all very pleased with their food, and it was delivered in a timely fashion. I love when restaurants opt to do a few items really well instead of a huge menu done in a mediocre manner. I cannot think of a better place in Franklin to get a burger! They also cater, which should be appealing to all the large businesses in the area.
