Likely the best live music venue in Franklin. Small, intimate, warm feel. Less pretentious than The Bluebird and Super supportive of artists/musicians. Great selection of craft beer, wine and liquor. Food served nightly and it’s quite good as well.

Kimbro’s is a small local music bar with lots of personality and a limited menu. They have a jam room filled with guitars, drums, and a piano, as well as a statue of a creepy chimpanzee head and various knicknacks. Anyone can go in there and get their groove on. There are other alcoves scattered around, and overall it’s a great and intimate place to go alone or with friends. There is live music in the music room every night, and when we went we lucked into an amazing set by The Young Fables(track them down and see a show… you won’t be disappointed). The sound was spot on, not too loud, not too bass-y. It really allowed the music to shine. If you’re in the mood for a great, intimate set of music, it would be hard to go wrong with Kimbro’s. It’s on our regular rotation now whenever we visit Franklin.

One of the best burgers of my life. All the ingredients are there; fresh veggies, tasty beef, and a lightly toasted sweet bun. This is a burger that doesn’t need the aid of any condiments. This is more than a burger; this is poetry.

I am bringing my guitar next Tuesday night. The jam room was a great deal of fun. Kind of reminds me of jamming out at my house. Sitting out back with the campfire was pretty cool too. Great ambience and good red wine. Very laid-back and artsy crowd.

Great Singer songwriter evening at Kimbro’s. The sign up sheet was 19 deep, 5 minutes into launch and the artists delivered. Variety, passion, and an audience that truly appreciated the genre and artist’s commitment. Another fabulous evening orchestrated by Kimbro’s Will Jordan.

Had the greatest Bleu Burger and Spinach. Wow and the Green Man Porter. Aaron or Erin bartender is a people person.

The music was awesome last night and the room is a good one for sound, with a Bose PA, a rarity. The food was nasty and the service challenged to say the least. Door person tells me to go the bar to use a credit card to pay the cover. Fine. Bar person tells me to show the receipt to the door person. Fine, But then door person begins demanding my name but won’t say why? Music is loud, I just walk in and ignore her. Later, paying for food, bar person tells me they were short-handed tonight so they asked a regular to work the door. A weird one, apparently. Then bar person plunks my CC receipt on the bar into a puddle, soaking it, rendering it barely able to be signed. Bought some chicken nachos that required a saw to separate. So food by a disgruntled cafeteria lady, service by 12 year olds, but music that’s wonderful.

Eat before you get there. Trust me on that one. Beer was warm. All of it. Brian James and the Revival were awesome. 5 stars for music. 1 star for food and beer. 4 stars for ambience = 3 star average.

The venue is really very nice and the beer selection was robust. Laid back drinking hole for locals. Really enjoy the jam room. More like hanging out at a buds house than an established bar. Having said that, and continuing the analogy, eat supper away from this buds place. Come for the atmosphere… not the cuisine.

This little place is so cool. The food is decent. The charm this place has is out of this world. If the walls could talk… I bet there are a trillion stories to be told. The staff is so friendly and down to earth and a singing bartender! We left a hefty tip and will definitely be back the next time we come to Franklin.

Came in late at night looking for some vegan options of which there were not very many but I still have to give them a great review because they bent over backwards to accommodate me. Very friendly and trying really hard plus the vibe is pretty awesome.

I will start this by saying I will definitely be adding to this review as soon as I have something to add. The problem I have with this place is that I didn’t get to experience it! After checking on the internet both at their own site and on here, we saw that it opened for dinner at 4pm. We were staying in Franklin because our daughter was in the hospital. We had tickets for a 7pm show in Nashville so we wanted to eat early and head north to our show. We arrived at Kimbro’s at 4pm but they hadn’t opened yet. We asked a guy we had seen smoking on their front porch if he knew what was up and he said they were probably just getting a late start since he knew they were all in the back. So we went to the antiques place across the street for a while and came back at 4:30 but it was still closed. We waited around a few more minutes before deciding we had to leave since we wouldn’t have time to eat at that point anyway. So we really wanted to check it out. I used to live in Franklin off Del Rio so I knew the area and wanted to see the house’s renovations. I wish we could have been able to do so but we just couldn’t wait. So be forewarned, this was on a Saturday evening and there was even some kind of special concert that night requiring a cover charge, and they still didn’t open on time! When we get the chance to come back we will add to this review but for now, all we have to go on are hard feelings.

WARNING!!! We enjoyed Kmbros BUT they said they DONT take Unilocal discount deal and have no idea where that came from so don’t give Unilocal the $ 30… You will get nothing for it at Kimbros…

Maybe we came here on an off night. I guess I wasn’t sure what the hype was. I saw the schedule and came to the place but it wasn’t the same time person playing as scheduled. We were a bit disappointed. The sound was good and nicely balanced though but we didn’t care for the person performing. Nothing special with the menu either unfortunately. The people there were nice and friendly though.

Smooth jams… cold brews… relaxed, untaxed, that’s the facts. Food is tastey… you’ll find locals, song writers a cozy neighborhood vibe… if you’re a tourist you’ll be disappointed, if you’re a local, you’ll be at home. The smoked pulled chicken and biscuits with white gravy will soak up anything you drink. A few drafts on tap… more in bottles, a house white and red… you come here for the music man and don’t you forget it!

I am new to the area and was thrilled to find Kimbros just around the corner from my new home. All staff members that I have interacted with have been very friendly and helpful, and other patrons have been very nice as well. Great venue! My only complaint(which keeps this from 5 stars) is the past 2 – 3 songwriter nights there is one particularly loud girl who genuinely seems to think that everyone in the room is interested in what she has tosay at every moment. She is constantly being shushed by others but that does not seem to be a deterrent. My table and the table next to us actually left this past week because she was such a distraction. I understand this is no fault of the establishment, but I wish there was a better way to enforce proper protocol, etiquette and respect for the musicians performing and those of us who came to listen.

Good local music with no frills. This takes me back to my high school days listening to friends jam at the locally owned barely making a buck coffee shop. Music is worth the visit but I wouldn’t order food from here. Good place for a few bottled beers.

Great local music venue, very intimate(small) and features local brews. I will give them 5 stars when they get the space invaders video game and Captain Fantastic pinball machine running. Fun, cozy space in the antique area near downtown Franklin. Street parking is usually no problem.
