Great new chef with a yummy menu. Have eaten there a while back, but looks like they have some new menu items!

The last time we ate at Saffire our thought was that that should be our last. However, Nashville Restaurant Week lured us there again. The server had to be reminded that it was restaurant week before he furnished us with the appropriate menu. My wife and I had the special, choosing the New South Caesar Salad, Chicken-Fried Chicken and the Honey Cheesecake dessert. My son and his wife chose to order off the regular menu, splitting the same salad, and each having the chicken, skipping the dessert. Their split salad was exactly the same as our whole salad; and their chicken entrée came with a helping of very smokey and very good turnip greens, but ours did not. Our dessert, the cheesecake, came in a perfect half-moon shape, which gave the distinct impression that it had been divided in two. It was $ 9 on the regular menu, and if I had ordered it as such, I would have been very offended to have been served such a small portion for the money, so I’m pretty sure it was divided. If my son and his wife had gotten the cheesecake and split it, their bill for their food would have been $ 2.50 cheaper than our so-called restaurant week special, with two orders of turnip greens thrown in for free. If our dessert was a half-portion, then I think Saffire ripped us off; if it was not, my apologies to Saffire; but then, their«restaurant week special» really wasn’t all that special. Finally, the salad and the dessert were pedestrian, and the chicken-fried chicken was so overdone and dry that Samson could have slain Philistines with it; and, it was tasteless as well. I hope I don’t ever feel this way after eating at The Loveless, or I’ll never go back there either.

Saffire is a great little place at The Factory my husband and I like to go to for the very best pork chop you will taste in your life. The braised short ribs are amazing too. Everything was outstanding including the friendly service except for the chess pie. I know that there are many differing opinions about how to make chess pie. But this just didn’t taste like anything I’ve ever experienced in the south except sweet — no «chess» texture just sugar. And it was too thin. As for the crust I couldn’t even get my fork through it. I was just disappointed considering how blown away I was with their entrees and sides and apps. Please If someone is listening — try a buttermilk chess or lemon chess for that amazing texture and offset the sweetness. Thanks!

We have eaten here twice and loved the food both times. The sushi on the weekend is always so fresh and their fresh catch of the day is always fantastic. Service has been great both times.

I love The Factory — we even had our reception there, but had never eaten at Saffire. It’s a great little place. However, we sat in the Blue Room for dinner, it was just a glorified covered porch to me.. . not the greatest atmosphere, but the wait staff made it better. Great service. Foodwise: For appetizers we ordered the«bang bang» shrimp(can’t remember the name but it’s like Bonefish grill’s shrimp) and it was really, really good. We also got a little side of the«hot» chicken.. it wasn’t hot at all really.. .. just tasted like it was dipped in Frank’s Red Hot sauce and fried. It was good and tender, but not hot. The cheddar biscuits were delicious as well. For dinner I ordered the snapper and i have to say it was cooked to perfection, the entire dish as amazing. It was a little overpriced in my opinion($ 36), but it was good. Would I order it again, no. The hubs ordered shrimp and grits, and it was really good, but too spicy for both our tastes. My brother in law had the chicken fried chicken and he seemed to enjoy it — it looked like an amazing plate of comfort food. We also ordered dessert — bread pudding. It was pretty good. Not like a regular bread pudding you would imagine, but it had an orange marmalade glaze and tasted a little like the orange cinnamon rolls you make at home. Overall a good meal.. . just a little more pricey than expected.

My first time here. Great experience all around. Rachael, our server was amazing. The bartender made some of the most amazing drinks — the Saffire martinis, chocolate martinis and lemon drop double shots were great. The wood-fired filet was cooked perfectly and very juicy. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu and drink selections. Thank you for making my birthday dinner a memorable experience.

Came here today for lunch. Cute area and I really liked the décor. The Sweet Corn-Jalapeño Fritters were amazing and I really enjoyed the sauce that came with it, kind of peppery. Unfortunately I did not like the Ribbon Salad and neither did my co-worker. On paper the ingredients look like they would pair well but they didn’t. I would go back but just not order that salad.

Just had Sunday brunch here at 11 when they opened. Fantastic food! First time having shrimp and grits and it was a flavorful dish, great seasoning and texture, my husband loved it too. My son had the crab omelette, he’s 7, he loved it with a side of grits. They happily accommodated my little sons dairy allergy, we ordered separate items that we could see were offered on the menu, eggs, bacon and French fries. My husband had the croque Madame, yummy! $ 75 for 2 adults and 2 heavy eating boys. We will be back. Richard was a great server, and ambiance is funky and cool.

It pains me to write this review. My wife and I have been dining at Saffire for years. We have gone there together. I have taken parties, large and small. I have brought my business associates there. We have had some of our favorite culinary experiences at this restaurant. However, something has changed in recent months. The experience is now uneven – at best. Sometimes it is good(though no longer great); often it is not. Last night was the latter. It was a very bad experience. I took my wife and youngest daughter to Saffire for dinner. We all ordered a filet. We each ordered our steaks«medium.» Though my wife and daughter’s steaks were fine, mine was overcooked. It was well done. I waited for about eight minutes for my server to come back to the table. She asked how our food was, and I, of course, told her. In fact, I showed her. She agreed; it was way over-cooked. She apologized and took in back to the kitchen. I waited another twenty minutes for her to return with my steak. By this time, my wife and daughter were finished. I ate my meal while they waited on me. The apology was weak. She didn’t offer to comp the steak, buy our drinks, or even a dessert. She seemed poorly trained. I would have thought she would have had me cut into the steak while she waited to make sure it was cooked to perfection. The worst part is that Saffire doesn’t seem to understand the life-time value of the customer. It wasn’t just that $ 200 dinner(way over-priced, in my opinion) that was at stake. It is the dozens of meals I typically pay for each year and the small groups of various sorts I have brought there. To be honest, this the straw that broke the camel’s back. I won’t be back. I am done with this restaurant. There are too many other good choices in Franklin to settle for bad food and bad service.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner, and I must say I was slightly disappointed for all of the hype we have heard about this place. It was very overpriced. The pros: the atmosphere and ambience was very cool. I liked that you could see the kitchen. To started we ordered the fried avocados. They were very good. Our meals on the other hand were ok. I had the fish and grits with two scallops. The scallops were worth the money. However, I took a bite of the fish and couldn’t eat it. It was so rubbery! The fish and grits plate was $ 35! You could tell I didn’t have any of it, and we weren’t comped whatsoever. I thought that was insane! I even complained about the fish as well. My husband ordered the steak, med rare, which was good. His fries were the best part. There is no way we will be coming back here for dinner. Way over priced for the quality of food.

One of my husband and I’s absolute favorite places! I found a pearl in my oyster here! Really! The food is great, we love all the seafood options and the steaks, and the service is impeccable. We also love the bar here. They have amazing home-made cocktails. The desserts are amazing as well.

Went with family for a nice evening out. The good: Atmosphere is really cool– exposed beams, great ambience, view into kitchen. The bad: Service. Not only was it slow, the server seemed like he couldn’t care less that we were there. We ordered 2 appetizers and several bottles of wine– usually this pulls even low interest servers out of an apathetic hole. Further, my wife’s prime rib came out raw the first time, and charred the second. It took another half hour to get it right. I understand things happen in the kitchen, and we all have bad days, but the main problem here was service related– just a few kind words or paying attention to the table(especially after things started to go wrong) would have prevented me from writing a negative review. Overall: I might go again for a drink, but the menu is far too overpriced for the level of service provided. Left visiting family with a bad taste for the Franklin dining scene.

Last night my girlfriend and I went to Saffire to celebrate Valentine’s weekend. We had a 9pm reservation and we arrived at around 7 to have a few drinks and maybe sit down before 9pm. We sat at the bar and started off with two Yazoo Gerst Amber drafts, which were delicious drinks. We also had the: Lobster Empandas: These were crispy pastry pockets filled with lobster, grilled jalapeños and jack cheese, topped with sweet chili sauce and salsa fresca. There were 4 empandas total and we definitely enjoyed this. I would say the taste of lobster was minimal. However, one thing we did like was the salsa which had pieces of shrimp in it and was quite refreshing. Ultimately, I wouldn’t order these again. Soon we sat down and we initially ordered the: Saffire Steak Biscuits: These were two bleu cheese biscuits with grilled beef tenderloin and horseradish demi glacé. WOW. The tenderness of the beef was unbelievable and the soft yet, crisp taste of the biscuits went so perfectly with these. What was also nice is they were small and honestly, I think this is the perfect appetizer. Lastly, we had: Annette’s fried avocado: This was cornmeal-fried avocado topped with grilled shrimp salsa and jalapeño cream drizzle. Again, we enjoyed the salsa, but I just thought this was decent. I think if you love avocado, this is a must order, but I usually like avocado as an add on for a sandwich or to make guacamole. However, I would never eat avocado like an apple, but if you would, order this. Then we moved on to the main course. One thing I must note was our waitress was delightful. She did an excellent job describing the different menu options to us and she went as far as to note where the meat or vegetables came from which ordinarily might annoy me, but she succeeded in making my mouth water. My girlfriend ordered the: Creole Shrimp and Grits: This consisted fo sautéed shrimp, creole tomato sauce and creamy, stone-ground grits. She enjoyed this, but wasn’t blown away. I ordered the special of the night which was: Sliced beef shoulder and scallops with brussel sprouts topped with panko(really crispy bread crumbs). Unfortunately, the beef shoulder came out cold. Granted, it was still cooked perfectly and I certainly enjoyed it. However, I did NOT enjoy the 54 dollar price tag. Admittedly, I should have inquired about the price, but I never imagined it would be so expensive. I live in New York City and I’ve never paid that much for a main entrée and I’ve explored numerous high end restaurants. The service: I’m not sure what was going on with the staff last night, but the service was mixed. As I mentioned above, my waitress was delightful. However, when we sat at the bar we initially sat in front of scores of glasses, plates, silverware and a paid check from the people that had previously been there. The couple next to us, which finished their dessert, sat with dirty plates in front of them for twenty minutes. What was particularly confusing was I continuously noticed the manager chatting with the bartenders, but his lack of awareness disappointed me. I’m rarely one to complain, but I think prompt cleanliness that anticipates the customers needs and improves the dining experience(without being noticeable) is essential to a fined dining and Saffire was missing that. Ultimately, that’s the difference between 4 and 5 stars. Venue: Saffire is a pretty nice restaurant, but it’s no MOTO. There was a piano player behind the hostess playing lovely music and the restaurant itself has a sort of rustic/industrial setting, but do be advised it is located inside an old industrial factory which was kind of a creepy place once we left at 10. Beyond, the massive price tag for my main entrée and the inconsistent service I would absolutely return to Saffire and I would most definitely recommend it.

We went to Saffire last night at 7:30 without a reservation(it was rainy so that is probably why we got right in)…a reservation is recommended. Our table was right by where the musicians were playing and it was great!!! The music was just the right volume that we could still talk which was nice. We got the fried avocados… I liked them but my husband thought they were bland. For dinner we got cheeseburgers(mine with Brie cheese, his with pimento cheese)…we both got the pickled jalapeños on the burgers and loved them! The fries were pretty good and the greens were okay… a little too earthy for me. The warehouse atmosphere was great, we both really liked it! The only problem is that it sprinkled on us just a little when we were sitting at the table(the whole mall has roof leaks and Saffire is no exception). Afterwards we walked around the warehouse and looked at the unique shops… make your own pottery, antiques, a really cool guitar shop. This would be a great place to go on a rainy day!

Meat and vegetables for lunch! If you enjoy locally grown produce then this is your place. We visit the farmers market to purchase fresh vegetables but the chef here does a much better job with them than I can at home. I’m more of a frozen steam bag veggie kind of cook. The service was great. I couldn’t tell you who our waitress/waiter was because everyone working checked on us at some point as they passed our table. It was cool that they worked together to be sure all the customers had what they needed. I was having trouble deciding from all the great menu choices. As soon as I heard the meat special the decision was made. It was meatloaf. I love meatloaf and this one did not disappoint. It was delicious. I had mashed potatoes and green beans with it. They were also very delicious. We’ve had dinner here in the past also and the fish specials are always amazing.

I was excited to try Saffire. I love the location, I loved the interior. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and they were fairly busy. The hostess offered me a table tucked away in the corner of the entrance way. Which says to me, your server will forget about you. I even mentioned this. But since my only other option was to wait or sit at the bar, I took the table. And of course, my server forgot about me. The lovely hostess was observant enough to notice that I had been forgotten and offered to bring me a beverage and then find my missing server. I opted for a Blackberry Mountain Tea. It was okay. So, Mr. Poof Hairstyle finally makes his way to my table to take my order. And lucky for me, he never came to my table, again. I got a Crab Cake Salad. It was so good. Loved it. The crab cakes were served on a bed of arugula, with shaved fennel, red onions, avocado and cracked mustard vinaigrette. I am a firm believer that you can have the most incredible interior, the best food, but it all means nothing, if you don’t have adequate service. Mr. Poof was also serving the table next to me. All they seemed to be getting was excuses. The kitchen is backed up. We are busy. I told the chef about his error. Blah blah. In the end, the manager had to bring me my check.
