Kumon Math and Reading Center of Franklin

I’ll start positive. I do notice that while attending Kumon, my children finish other school work quicker, so there is a slight benefit. The rest… Ugh. Kumon program in general– not a fan. All they do is provide books. There is never any actual instruction or tips or teaching. Printing your own worksheets and just giving it to your kid and ignoring them would be the same as Kumon. They do a book daily at home, then 2x a week at the center. They are only open these two days so it is quite crowded. Once your child is fine they must wait for teenagers to correct them and it takes a really long time! If they were open more often maybe it would be less crowded/​quicker. Kumon claims a book should take 20 mins. We’ve never been out of there in under an hour. Also, you record how long each book takes at home, but it seems to be pointless. They make no adjustments to work or even care if a 1^st grader is taking 1.5 hours. Talk about frustrating for that age! And it’s always a pleasure when they give new kinds of problems and just have the kid go at it, leaving the kids confused and alone.
Now, on to the specific Franklin location. I’m not sure what other centers are like, but the head lady over here is totally full of herself, completely disrespectful and totally uncaring. Good luck to all who try this place.
