I was starting to think I’d never have LEGIT Mexican food again having moved from SoCal. I was the only gringa in the place and the menu on the wall was completely in Spanish. Oh, yeah, this is gonna be good. And was it ever! They also have a grocery attached so I picked up some queso fresca on my way out. Happy gringa. :)

Take it from a Southern California native — THIS is *REAL* authentic Mexican food. Oscar’s Taco Shop(though claiming to be SoCal Mex) is NOT.(Most other«Mexican» restaurants in this area are NOT).(If you have any doubts just look at the clientele — This is the place the Mexicans go to eat after they get off work cooking your food in the restaurants, LOL). I could go on about how thrilled we were to find this gem out here & how other«mexican» restaurants around here don’t begin to compare, but… well, just stop in & experience the muy-delicioso-ness of it all! :-D. Very sweet, friendly, humble people; great service; amazing food; tables to eat at; warm ambience. Mexican store & butcher shop as well. Extensive selection of pan dulce(sweet bread/pastries) that looked really good & freshly made to me, even though we visited at dinnertime(not like the more dried-out pan dulces I’ve seen). Extensive selection of meats too. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by the Paletas(mexican popsicles) shop next to it. (PS — Someone listed this as 3 $ signs? — not at all. I would say one $ sign; I’ll see if I can change it).

What a great alternative to the chalky bland suburban fat butts that like Pueblo Real. This is a standard butcher shop, market, and serves simple Mexican staples tacos and tortas. Delicious meat and a fair prices. GOGETSOME!
