Moab Bikes is everything great about cycling. These guys are incredibly friendly and anxious to make your experience(both in the shop and on the road) a memorable one. Moab has a great selection of road and mountain bikes as well as shoes, socks, bibs and jerseys, not to mention they carry helmets, eyewear, and bike racks. To discuss the actual customer service, I should mention that I am younger than 24 and I have found that in 90% of the stores/restaurants/hotels/etc that I visit as a customer the staff notes my age and proceeds to treat me like a nuisance. I have concluded that these businesses assume I cannot afford their products, wont tip, or just generally do not necessitate the same customer treatment that an older patron would command. Anyway, at Moab the guys(David) treated me like a king. I went in recently to buy a bike and some additional gear. I had been researching my intended purchase for almost 3 months leading up to my arrival at the shop so I told the David the 3 bikes I was most interested in and the price points I saw online and the budget I created from those price points. Not only did he seek to find the best buy for my money but he did not try to oversell any of their product. Not once did a staff member attempt to convince me that my budget was too tight or that I «needed» to buy the more expensive product. After about two hours I had selected and been fitted for the bike, purchased the accessories I wanted, and managed all this without exceeding my projected budget. In fact I saved a considerable chunk of change due to the fact that most of Moab’s products are priced lower than MSRP. **** A huge thing that Moab does is that they allow you to test ride any bike you want. the best way to buy a bike, like a car, is to test ride it and confirm that the bike rides the way you want. Aesthetics are nice but you are not looking at the thing when you’re riding.

My review is a little late, but better than never:) I am new to the bike scene & I dropped in at Christmas time to buy new cleats & pedals for my Jamis. These guys were so helpful! They let me try on every shoe in the store & put me on a trainer to try out all the cleats. They also gave me helpful hints & a nice discount! I’ll definitely be back to the shop when I’m back in Middle Tn. I’d highly recommend this place. Super nice hometown guys!

Love this shop. I’m new to cycling and was nervous about going in to a professional bike shop. Bought my first road bike in Oct. Not only were they kind, they were patient and more than happy to share tips. Jim was the first person I met and even though he was busy doing repairs he took time to show me the ropes. I’ve been in several times now and each time I leave more knowledgeable than the first time. World class service, top of the line equipment, and uninitiating environment. Thankful to shop here!

…still waiting for a callback. Where is my order? I ordered in the spring. I have met others on the local trails and have heard the same stories. Does Mark the owner really know what is going on when he is not there?

Moab carries Trek, Specialized, BMC road bikes, and a few more I’m sure. Jeremy did a great custom bike fitting for me. They carry Specialized and Louis Garneau clothing and a bunch of Swiftwick socks.

Moab is the true definition of great customer service. Thad and his staff are always helpful and want to fit you(or my child in this case) for the perfect size bike relative to his ability. They give you their honest advice and that feedback helps you make an informed decision. This is our second bike purchase from Moab for our son and we will keep coming back over and over again. We have also worked with the Moab in Murfreesboro and they are equally as fantastic!

After purchasing everything that one would need to get involved in road cycling, I knew the smartest investment I could make in myself, was taking it to a professional to have it fitted. If anyone has ever road a 12-speed, you should know that a proper fitment is essential, or your body will pay dearly. I went on facebook and found a local cycling club, and was given recommendations for REI, MOAB, and East Nashville Cycles. Stopped into East Cycles(prior to purchasing bike) and was advised that it would be $ 65/hr for a fitting(reasonable, plus it would likely take less than 1 hr, at which point they advised they would pro-rate). I then moved onto REI, and was given in the same $ cost, but could be at least 11 days before getting the bike back. Now onto the meat! Walked into MOAB of Franklin, and they saw me within 1 hr, and I was fitted, bars, and seat adjusted in less than 30 mins. Best part?! Well, let’s just say the price CANNOT be beat by any other shop big or small. The price was so great(remember, I did not buy my bike or ANY of my cycling gear from them prior to walking in), I chose to indulge and buy additional MOAB swag for my bike such as tire levers, water bottle, swiftwick socks, and a jersey top — just so I felt like I was not stealing their time & $$ from the fitting. If you are even close to this shop and want to establish a relationship with a LBS(Local Bike Shop), go nowhere else! Thanks MOAB and I can’t for the day to come where I can upgrade my bike at some point in the future and give you that business too! –Jayson

Really good guys here. I am an older(58 yrs old) beginner road bike person and these folks hooked me up with a great bike, at a very fair price, took the time to explain everything, and didn’t treat me like the beginner I am. I highly recommend this shop.

After stopping by REI and Dick’s looking for the right bike for my 8 year old, we stopped at Moab. The boy has outgrown his old bike but was not ready to remove the training wheels. I had a hunch that getting a better bike that fit him better would help move that process along so he could keep up with the neighborhood kids as they traverse to the pool on a daily basis this summer. I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the money at a specialty shop but after the sale, I’m pretty sure it was well worth the extra cash. REI selection was reasonable and the staff helpful enough. But Patrick and Adam at Moab really went the next step. Obviously very knowledgeable about their selection of bikes and the options as we grow out of this bike, Patrick let me know that Trek has a nice trade-up program if we make that step in the next 3 years. But the real help came as we were about the checkout. Adam asked if we were being helped and I told him Patrick was prepping the bike for us and asked if he has any recommendations on getting out of training wheels. When he finished checking out his customer, he tool us out back and went through a few simple exercises with my son, which provided needed encouragement from a much cooler 20-something biker than his father could provide. When we go home we scooted down to the clubhouse parking lot and practiced our exercises once more, reattached the pedals and started riding. That simple. And the smile on the boy’s face is worth the extra $ 100 for the Moab experience.
