Wonderful atmosphere and great selection. The household goods section is wonderful. When i was moving a friend suggested the clothes exchange for a couple odds and ends. Found out they had furniture and more. The experience was very satisfying.

This is such a great place to shop! The store is HUGE. Besides clean clothing and an abundance of coats, purse and shoes; they also have a room full of formalwear and bridal wear. PLUS part of the store has household items such as knickknacks, lamps, furniture, etc. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I manage to find something every time I go here.

The Clothing Exchange bills itself as a bridal resale shop and two racks of dresses filling their back room credit that claim. Half the store is devoted to a selection of sportswear, suits, party dresses, sweaters, and tops from brands like Chico’s, Express, and Moschino in petite to plus sizes. A small selection of home décor and housewares covers a quarter of the shop, and contained mostly paintings, decorative elements, and knickknacks. A surprising selection of boots, strappy dress sandals, and other new and used shoes, and a jewelry case round out the offerings. My quest for a ballgown sent me over to this shopping plaza on the East Side on the recommendation of the ladies at Royal Oak’s Bellocchio designer resale. I found a clearance rack with cocktail dresses and formal gowns at steep discounts($ 20 to $ 50) with plenty of stock in all sizes. I regret not going back to see the peach-russet Missoni skirt suit they carried for ~$ 40(!!) but my attentions were elsewhere. The styles ranged from contemporary to the velvet dress from the disco era, which suggests ladies of different tastes consign their garments here. I like variety which gets away from the depressing«mermaid gown, bandage dress, rainbow coloured quilt of micro-sized fabric» dresses currently in all the spendy department and specialty stores right now. Prom gowns go here to await another girl to grace, along with a healthy array of bridesmaid dresses and formal gowns. The extensive collection held a few options to fit my requirements, including a classy platinum satin number with floral embroidery, a train, and a gorgeously mobile skirt. Sadly for me it wasn’t my number; size 6 is over the horizon without a bit of assistance from a tailor. Sophisticated or sartorial cupcake, the Clothing Exchange carries a little something for everyone. Brides also should note they carry a dizzying number of gowns, including many new with tags. Nor are you limited to dreaded size 2. On a spot check, I noticed plenty of Maggie Sottero gowns and other designer labels at costs that made me giggle airily — think 80−90% discounts and you’re in the right range. They also carry veils, mother of the bride and flower girl dresses. What made me smile was a gorgeous corner fitting room kitted out to give the boutique feel of expensive bridal shops — lots of mirrors, even the pedestal to stand on while you imagine your special days. The ladies on staff provide impeccable service and sort through stock to find what fits your bill. I wasn’t able to find something to match but they took down my details on a wish list. The Clothing Exchange is well worth the drive.
