Baskins Robbins

Most of the time, I would not bother to leave reviews at chain locations like this, because staff turnover is high and experiences may vary. But multiple times now I’ve gone in for a very simple, very typical sundae, and they’ve given me burnt, sludgy hot fudge that they literally scraped from the bottom of the canister, along with a hefty side of absolutely awful customer service. The service here is so bad that I’m actually motivated to make the ten mile drive into Frederick and patronize better ice cream shops.
Sad thing is that they are the only ice cream game in Urbana, they know it, and nothing will motivate them to change.

I really hope I don’t get sick from the ice cream I just ate. The girl behind the ice cream counter seemed preoccupied with her cell phone. Which I normally could care less… But when I noticed none of the ice cream flavors matched up with the correct signs, I knew it was pure laziness. When I asked about what I thought was a hazelnut flavor, she said oh that’s wrong, do you still want to try it? I said where is the hazelnut? She replied oh we don’t have it. It took all I had to not say, well what are you doing to stop you from updating the flavors? Then I stopped in the bathrooms and there was literally tp all over the floor. There were two girls working and the place was empty. There is no excuse for not cleaning. I would be furious if I were the manager or owner.
Secondly, I noticed the ice cream had chunks of ice in it… Which leads me to believe it’s either old or has been warmed and refrozen. No Bueno. I will never stop here again.

Where to start; The young lady that waited on us acted as though she didn’t care to be there or that we interrupted her texting. We tried to order a sundae and strawberry banana smoothie. This is where things get interesting! We were informed that they don’t have bananas (how may I ask do you not have bananas) so we settled on just a strawberry smoothie. Another young lady came from the back and asked what type of sundae we wanted and we told her. She then turned around and started to yell at the girl making the smoothie saying she wasn’t doing it right (good thing to do in front of customers). She then asked again what type of sundae we wanted and again we told her. She then proceeded to say we can get three toppings. We informed her that we only wanted a single scoop with caramel. She wanted to argue that it’s the same price with three toppings and again we told her we only wanted one. Not sure what the confusion was! So, we said screw the sundae paid for the smoothie and walked out. This place gets two stars because it’s clean. Other than that the people working here have horrible customer service skills and no aspirations in life except to text and get paid to do that.

They just opened this shop in Urbana off route 270. It’s very clean and the staff are all friendly. They have the most variety of desserts that I have ever seen in Baskins Robbins. You can find different types of ice cream cakes such as animal, Orio cookie, and flowers.
They recently became number one seller in DC area!
