Café Nola is a charming and hip restaurant that Specializes in infused cocktails. Decorated with artsy paintings and a warm wood interior, it is warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered a chai latte and a warm ninja turtle latte. The ninja turtle latte was rich and full of chocolate flavor. I sucked it down in five minutes. It was very satisfying. I would like to go back and try the food. The kitchen closes down in the middle of the day, although the bar area is open for drinks. I would love to return for the rose infused tea. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the drinks. I would love to return.

Café Nola is a cute little local coffee shop that has been around since ’07 and also offers a food menu by Chef Benjamin Cohen. A couple of friends and I stopped by to do some refueling, and even though the kitchen closes after a certain time, the café itself is still open for drinks. I tried the Ninja Turtle(with hazelnut, caramel, and chocolate), one of their Signature Lattes — you can get this either hot or cold, and I opted it to be the latter. This had the right amount of sweetness with still the strongness of the coffee. I also loved seeing that they had housemade syrups, so I’d love to check out the various flavors in the drinks the next time! The barista was super sweet, and don’t be shy in requesting for some customizations on your beverage(extra syrup(s), more/less ice, temperature hot, etc.). I loved the local artwork that were on the walls(especially the painting of the blue dog HEART); plenty of seats to sit and enjoy your beverage/food items. +Ninja Turtle latte(cold or hot) +housemade syrups +friendly barista: D +great local artwork featured: D

This place is good but I don’t like that they let people sit at the bar in there computer on a busy Saturday. Food was good but sweet potato fries where very soft. Food is pretty pricy but there iced coffee was amazing.

So yummy! My friends and I go here for brunch all the time. Be careful because weekend brunch time is super busy and they have strange hours! Open for breakfast/brunch then close to prepare for dinner then reopen again. So far I’ve had an egg sandwichs, steak and eggs and French toast! All have been awesome. Definitely try a speciality coffee! My favorite is the ninja turtle latte which is hazelnut and chocolate and I think caramel. Never been to the bar scene but it is always flooded with people! Mostly hipster types but the drinks sound good and the people look fun

Great vibe and friendly service with a couple of local brews on tap as well as a few imports makes this place a winner. They also have infused liquors with interesting sounding flavor combinations that I didn’t try but will dive into the next time I’m in the area. The food menu has a decent mixture of sandwiches and salads as well as a couple of entrees. The salmon looked especially delicious, but I opted for a brussel salad which was surprisingly tasty. Just an all around good place.

It’s been almost a week since my visit and I’m still thinking about the yummy Ninja Turtle Latte. Hands down the best latte I’ve ever had. I also tried the Chesapeake Benedict and that was also amazing. The staff at Café Nola were all super friendly and service was speedy. There wasn’t a lot of business during my weekday breakfast visit, but they clearly have a loyal customer base.

Great food, but the staff and clientele they cater to are pretentious and seclusive. If you are a new customer, you will wait until the favorites and the regulars have received the attention they so desire. With that being said, if you are willing to pay(more than Starbucks) for a hand-crafted beverage, they are delicious and have unique flavors. The food is great and designed for local foodies.

Have you grown your beard to incredible luscious fullness? Do you have a tattoo containing bike spokes, arrows, the om or some other symbol that you feel only the deepest of minds could possibly understand? Perhaps you rock a man bun, or are inclined to purchase hemp products of the organic and fair trade nature? Well if you are inclined towards any of this, well than this is the place for you! All jokes aside this place is great! There infused vodkas and whiskeys are definitely worth a try and all the bands I’ve seen play there have been really good instrumentally. Maybe I’m slightly obsessed because of the thick hipster fog I walk into each time that reminds me of home back in the Bay Area of California! Their bartenders are awesome. Their service is fast and I would definitely recommend checking this place out it is a treat.

So bummed that they changed the menu so much– lots of good things are gone. And the food is now crazy expensive– it was a $ 50 breakfast for two people! Lox in NYC isn’t even $ 16– how they can charge that here(and it’s «deconstructed» aka– they just put it all on a plate and YOU have to put it together.) One thing that hasn’t changed is the slow service. It took 25 minutes to get our lattes. The coffee is very good, but not wait-25-minutes good. Sadly I don’t think this is going to be on my list of places to come anymore. Even the black bean wrap is crazy expensive.(good, but not worth the price) With so many other good, cheaper choices downtown, I think I’ll be skipping this one.

my spouse and I met some friends here for brunch about a week ago based on some positive Unilocal reviews. and the food confirmed we made a good choice. we met on a Saturday afternoon, and since we were a party of 5, we had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. all things considered(including the relatively small size of nola), the wait wasn’t bad. we were seated and I noticed it has a dark atmosphere thanks to darker woods used for the décor on the inside as well as black paint. our server was very attentive to keeping our waters filled as we perused the menu, being forced to make difficult decisions on what to eat. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich. because I’m addicted. as well as the Clydesdale, a white chocolate mocha. the pulled pork was hands down fantastic. the meat was juicy and flavorful, and the sauce complemented it quite well. the French fries were quite tasty and I had a hard time putting them down after I was full. the Clydesdale, on the other hand, was mediocre. the flavor was a bit bland and it lacked that slight hint of coffee bitterness that a good mocha needs. my tablemates all absolutely enjoyed their meals. the monte cristo, chili, and California turkey on ciabatta were also ordered and everyone said they would order their choices again. I would too. when you go to café nola, go for the food. not the specialty coffees.

Great coffee shop with amazing brunch options. While I love brunch, I forced myself to order the California turkey on cibatta. Others at the table ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the monte cristo, a plain bagel and cup of chili. Everyone’s order looked amazing and we all thought our dishes were tasty. The sweet potato fries were plentiful as were the refills on water and attentivness of our server. The white chocolate and caramel latte was good but not outstanding.

We came in for brunch on Sunday and I have to say that our experience was incredible. We had to wait for about 30 minutes but was well worth it. We ordered coffee from the walk-up coffee bar while we waited and got to scope out the food that was being delivered to the high-top tables by the front window. Once seated, we started off with a pitcher of mimosas(for a reasonably priced $ 18) and deviled eggs. Some of our favorite Entrees were the bacon and ramps, Chesapeake Benedict and Italian Benedict. Our waitress(I wish I could remember her name) was so friendly and accommodating. She even split our checks at the end of the meal without us asking. For a 27 year old who goes out with groups and needs checks split often… the level of accommodation was very refreshing. I’m not from the area but would highly recommend Café Nola to anyone visiting. It was a great atmosphere, with great food and a very friendly staff.

So I decided to give this place another chance. Second yielded much better service. We actually had the same server and she was much more attentive and talkative this time! But the food fell short. My husband had the Chesapeake Benedict… he wasn’t a fan. I opted for the pick me up… pouched egg, English muffin and swapped the bacon for sausage. The sausage was, in my opinion, horrible. It had maple-y taste, but not what I expected in a pork breakfast sausage. So pretty disappointed. On our list recent trip, my husband got the Mexican hash… it was served up in a mini cast iron skillet with corn tortillas on the side. There was chorizo, potatoes, kale, onions and peppers… omg…yum. I picked at his plate the whole time and took his leftovers home to much on later. I wanted the chicken and waffles… but after our 1 hour wait to be be sat, they had just ran out so I settled for the French toast. It was super yummy. Syrup was delish and not too sweet which I appreciated. It also was garnished with chunks of apples, so reminded me of apple pie. Service was great. They definitely earned the extra star from me. Next trip will be at night for a show and a cocktail.

The challenge here is deciding if you should get a coffee or a cocktail. Not wanting to give up my lush status, I got both… My latte was excellent. With the popularity of coffee and espresso bars these days, it is amazing how difficult it is to get a good cup. I’m not one that hates a Starbucks, as it is dependable and consistent, but I really try to seek out good independent places. Half of them are crap, frankly. They get all uppity because they’re not a franchise, but the product is inconsistent. Nola, though, delivers! Awesome spot. Your espresso or latte is made with precision and beautifully served. In addition to the standard commercial syrups, they also have several house made syrups that are worth trying. Unique flavors and combinations that will interest your palate.(~$ 4.5 for a latte) I followed my latte up with the Nola Bloody Mary. Served in a pint glass with perfect garnish it’s exactly what I had in mind. I did find the Bloody Mary to be a little too sweet for me. I like when the standard bloody mary is spicy, without being hot. They also have a «spicy» bloody mary on the menu, but it’s made with peppered vodka that I usually find better for heart burn than for drinking. Still, I’ll give that a try next time. They also have a smokey tequila based bloody.(They were all around $ 9) We got a couple kid’s meals which were excellent, and a steak salad. Salad was awesome. The steak was overcooked but was an excellent cut so was still tender and delicious. If you are not in a steakhouse, you are a moron if you get wrapped up about your beef not being perfectly cooked.($ 16) I’d get this again and it’ll be tough to choose something for my next visit as the menu has a lot of great options. In short, I’m not sure if I’d rather sit at the bar and drink cocktails all afternoon, or enjoy a great latte while reading the day’s news. It’s that kind of place.

I loved the atmosphere and had high hopes for brunch, but I have to say I was pretty unimpressed. My monte cristo sandwich had too many missteps to be forgivable. While most of my meal was warm, the turkey was basically cold, and the ham was way too salty. Most upsetting was that the fries were limp and soggy. There are some cool coffee options, but to be honest, I wasn’t blown away. Coffee took a long time(15 minutes) to arrive and had spilled over the the saucer, looking messy. Service was really friendly, but I’m pretty sure our waiter forgot to fire our order. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, and the people who got seated way after us got their food before us.

My friend(we’ll just call her Lily R.) insists that we stop at Café Nola every time we’re in Frederick to get their Rose Iced Tea. Last time, I did get a full one for myself. The tea had strong floral notes with hints of rose and rose petals I haven’t tried any of their food there, but it’s worth it to mention that they infuse their own vodka. Behind the bar sits a line of spigoted large jars that contain vodka and fruit/flowers/spices etc. Please start carrying Sweet & Low.

Unilocal brought me here on a Sunday morning at 11am. Brunch was already popping so we grabbed seats at the small bar. I ordered the French Toast with a side of bacon and everything was very tasty. I don’t usually like a lot of berry compotes but this dish was doused in it and I ate every drop! The restaurant itself was nice, not a very diverse crowd but still an overall quaint and cute ambiance-hipster. We’ll def be back for drink-y time because they had a great bar!

Another wicked hipster joint in Frederick. If you’re not into extremely holistic foods(vegan, vegetarian, organic, etc in some capacity) then this isn’t the place for you. Food presentation is great, but the selection is very lacking. The coffee is alright, but not worth the price. The wait staff is rarely helpful; the last time I was there it was during happy hour, and time after time customers would walk up to the podium to wait to be seated, and each time only after several minutes of standing did a staff member finally tell them it’s open seating. A few customers who’d been standing too long eventually left. Overall, it’s more about feeling«cool» when you walk in rather than actually being a good place to eat. EDIT: I tried this place again against my better judgement. I ordered a coffee and my friend got a cup of tea. Seriously it took us like 20 minutes to get our drinks. I understand that it can take time to steep/brew stuff, but I think the bigger issue is that there’s only ever one barista behind the counter handling every single person’s orders. And my waitress? Nowhere to be found. We’d long finished our drinks and she never came back, so we actually had to go up to the counter ourselves and settle the bill there. At this point it’s almost laughable. 2⁄5.

Soo good! We came here after wedding dress shopping for M. She suggested we try this place out. Café Nola has a very laid back vibe and I wish it was closer to home. I’d be here all the time. Employees are very cool and friendly. I love love love the foam art on their lattes. The bear is just too cute. The Ninja Turtle Latte is as delicious as everyone says. We enjoyed everything we ordered. It was light, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. Even the burger was super light and not greasy at all. The Hummus Plate was perfection. Freshly made hummus, carrots, cucumbers, green peppers, and pita bread. You can also add manchego cheese. It was really hard to choose what we wanted to eat because it all sounded so good. Their drinks are delicious. When I’m in the area again, I’d love to come back.
