Had a wonderful time on the patio. Music was great and the wine was superb. Will be back

There are 100 vineyards that are better. Don’t waste your time here!!! Horrible service and bad wine. We showed up on a bus with 9 people. They first decided they didn’t want our money so they sent us to the field to turn around. After the bus got stuck because their parking lot attendant sent us in a soggy field, they treated us like dog crap as tho we we were wrong for even trying to show up and give them money. There are better vineyards inside the city of austin, don’t waste your time going to this hole.

The vineyard is beautiful and the atmosphere seemed comfortable. We came here because of the ratings and they advertised as «dog friendly». I’ll tell you they are not dog friendly. The wine is great, however, the staff is condescending and rude. When we asked if we were correctly pronouncing the name of the wine, we were corrected and told«Come on guys, you went to college». Every single employee has a scowl on their face and a terrible attitude. Also, if you’re not from the hill country and are just visiting, do not come here unless you plan on purchasing a wine club membership. Unless you purchase one, the only activity you can do is a short wine tasting. We could not leave quick enough. This is not a welcoming establishment.

Nice venue… but service was rude and you cannot buy a bottle of wine to enjoy there without being a part of their«wine club.» Also, a surly woman who appeared to be guarding the entrance immediately scorned us for vaping and shouted, «No smoking, No smoking anywhere!!» First off, it’s not smoking. I get its your policy but please mind your attitude when«greeting» your customers… who promptly walked out. NEXT!

I’m a driver and a wine tour guide for Majesty tours in Fredericksburg Texas. I would like to say thank you to John the Tasting Room Staff Manager at Grape Creek Vineyards. On Saturday, April 30, 2016 I arrived at Grape Creek vineyards with 10 ladies in my tour group. The winery was very busy and looked like it would be quite a while before the ladies could do a tasting. I quickly ran around looking for a spot for the ladies to do a tasting. I found a vacant spot at an outside bar. I found a winery employee by the name of Julie and asked her if it would be OK to take my ladies there to do a tasting. She said it would not be, that the area was closed off. on my way back to inform the ladies in my group that they may have to wait a while, I ran into John. I explained to John that the ladies had lunch reservations at a restaurant that we couldn’t wait very long to do a tasting. He quickly made arrangements to prepare the area for the ladies. While the area was being prepared for their wine tasting, a group of 13 young ladies in a bachelorette party took over the area. John, a true leader, and not willing to disappoint ANY guest at Grapecreek, lead the 10 ladies in my tour, to the VIP/Wine Club Members only area. John set the ladies up with a server named Mary, by the way, Mary is probably the sweetest wine server on the planet. Well, on the way to the ladies lunch reservations. I overheard One of ladies say that she had decided to join the wine club at Grapecreek vineyards before she even tasted the wine! Wow! Johns quick, simple decision and willing to accommodate them is why she joined the wine club. Again, Wow! Thanks John!

Very disappointing. Arrived planning to have lunch and a bottle of wine. My sandwich was good, but unfortunately we had nowhere to sit out of the rain even though there was plenty of space reserved for wine club members. Not a very good way to encourage people to join! Much better customer service at the other wineries in the area.

First of all, this place is gorgeous. Just as pretty as any winery I saw in Napa. When we walked in, we were not greeted by any of the 3 people working there. That was disappointing because that for me is a big part of my reviews. My husband and I didn’t get that welcoming feeling you should get when coming to a place like this. Oh well, we weren’t going to leave. We bought our two tastings and proceeded to the bar where we tried a few wines, and found one we both liked a lot and bought a bottle. The glass was included in the cost which was nice. We walked over to the café hoping to sit outside and have a late lunch. This was during the week so there were only a few people there. We walked over and there is no one to be found anywhere in the café area. I know they were open because there was a table of people eating. After waiting a bit, we decided to leave. I’d try other places in the area before coming back here.

Pretentious, rude, awful service, manager is an ass. We recently did 4 tastings and bought 5 bottles. We were then told that we could NOT open one of our bottles outside at the trattoria because we were not members. Yes, after spending over $ 200 we would not enjoy the wine we just bought. Additionally the food was awful. The carbonara pasta was just pasta with olive oil and bacon, that’s it. They have good wines but it’s not worth the atmosphere and rudeness. This isn’t Napa! I even spoke with a manager who told me he didn’t care if I never came back.

My mother in law is a member and we come here every chance we get — usually once a month. Every time we come everyone is SO. KIND. The men at the food counter are ESPECIALLY nice. They are so funny! When I messed up my to-go order they were nice enough to fix it and not give any fuss. It’s clear they like what they do. The wine in unmatched, the food is delicious, and the live music is wonderful. I’m glad this is close to our family’s land because we will be members for a very long time!!!

Alright, catching up on reviews within the past coupe of years, but it’s better late than never right? When you drive in the short winding road leading to a Tuscan theme house it does have some characteristcs of an Italian atmoshpere. This is T-E-X-A-S for god’s sake, when you do you Italian style architecture in the middle of the damn Hill Country! Under Review LOL

We have been members of Grape Creek wine club going on two years. I enjoy most of the wines they produce. We enjoyed our last visit to the vineyard… great music, yummy pizza” attentive and friendly staff. We actually went both days of our trip since we get free tasting as members. The gal actually remembered us from the day before… surprisingly because they were so busy! A bonus is we are in the Austin area so we frequent the tasting room in Georgetown as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Belissimo is my favorite Grape Creek wine!

Another winery, another membership! HAHA. I was sold the second I stepped up to the outside bar adjacent to the outdoor pizzaria. Lovely. Most of my nurse friends are members here so I came with them to pick up their shipments. Little did I know that I would fall in love with their sweet wine selection. It’s not for me, but I have some picky wine-loving friends that will literally drop their jaws after a taste of these sweet wines. So, I joined for gifting purposes. :) I enjoy Grape Creek most for their spacious patio, availability of food other than cheese plates and friendly/knowledgeable staff. It’s a superb outing with a group of your best lady friends or family members, or anyone who likes wine and pizza, so everyone? Can’t wait to pick up my shipment in December!

I was on an un-guided, whirlwind weekend, Texas Hill Country wine tour with family, when I first visited Grape Creek Vineyard. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly by way of my experience: Good — The location and splendor this venue has is impressive. It’s clean, well laid out and gorgeous. The patio outside with the bistro tables, trees and live music is just so inviting and cries«wine & cheese plate please whilst I dine alfresco». Also the wine is quite nice. My favorite being the French Oak barrel aged Merlot. Bad — The store merchandise is overpriced. Rude staff; Not at all helpful. Ugly — The entire staff, from start to finish(with the exception of the lovely mid-50’s blonde woman who greeted us at the entrance). The experience was rushed, not to mention that the vineyards wine club was pushed onto our group repeatedly, after numerous disenchanted no-thankyou’s” . There were one or two red bottles that I would like to keep in my rotation on the home front, but not sure if it would be worth the hassle of having to deal with this place(sad to say). May take-away was that Grape Creek is truly a big box vineyard focusing more on the sale than the experience of their customers.

Grape Creek was the first stop on our tour of 290, and as far as I am concerned, it was one of the best stops of the day. We opted for a tour, where you get an opportunity to sample the same wine from 3 different kinds of barrels and learn about the difference in flavors each makes in the aging process. While there are plenty of tasting rooms along 290 that would like to get you drunk so you’ll buy a few bottles, Grape Creek seems to take its wine very seriously — they want you to understand what you’re drinking — and the wine was good enough that we joined the club and we’re looking to spend a couple of days in their villa B&B in the future. Take the tour, take the time, and enjoy the wine.

For our first(well only) winery visit in Fredericksburg, I’d say we picked a pretty good one thanks to Unilocal! The building itself is gorgeous with red Spanish tiles on the roof and lush green grass where people were having picnics and listening to live music. We headed inside feeling thirsty where plenty of helpful employees were standing by to greet us and answer questions. No reservation is needed, you simply stand in a short line to pay before being given your tasting card. It’s $ 12 a person Sunday-Friday or $ 15 a person on Saturdays and holidays. You can also do a combination tour of the winery plus the tasting which is $ 30 a person. The price includes 6 samples of any of their wines, except for members only selections or ones out of availability which they will cross off the list for you beforehand. Plus, you get to take home your wine glass as well. Find any open spot you can and give your cards to the employee behind the bar. We had Kim and she was great. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and quick to offer suggestions once she got an overall feel of our preferences. Ladies, there are purse hooks too! I wanted to try a variety so I selected a white, 2 reds, and 3 sweet. She started us with white and the Viognier I chose was light and crisp with hints of honey and peaches. It’s unusual to think of Texas when you want a good wine, but they really impressed me here! I liked everything I tried with the exception of their sweet Muscat only because the musk taste was a bit much for me. We decided to join their wine club which offers great perks for members. Its free to join and there are no annual fees. You do have to give a credit card number because you get charged automatically 5 times a year when your wine ships out. Austin friends, opt to pick your wines up at the Georgetown location and then you can avoid shipping costs. They choose the wines you are sent based on the club type you select. There are four: the black label club which is mostly reds, the white club, the sweet club, and the mixed club which is what we are because they do a variety of all three. We get 3 bottles each time but if you want more you can do 6 or 12. Since we joined that day they refunded both of our tasting fees and gave us the member prices for the three bottles we bought, essentially making one of them free. You also get 15% off all merchandise, complimentary tastings for you and a friend at any of their locations, member only wines, and invitations to exclusive events. We are anxious to check out the Georgetown location next. Be sure to sign up for their emailing list so that you don’t miss out on all they have going on.

We just became members of this wine club and decided to go out for a tasting and lunch Had such a nice afternoon, can’t wait to come back. Had the Stout pizza. Loved it along with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Thank you Mary for making our experience so enjoyable.

Grape Creek Vineyard has hit the big time, with a «trattoria», outdoor members-only patio, and huge parking lot complete with security guard. If you’re looking for that Hill Country small winery charm, probably best to keep trucking down the road — or at least avoid a visit on Saturday, when you’ll be jostling with the madding crowds for a spot at the tasting counter. Having said that, the red wines are some of the best I’ve had in Texas. While 100% local grapes sound great, Grape Creek understands that they need to bring in grapes from elsewhere, including the Texas high plains, to get the most flavorful wines. The Belissimo and Mosaic are outstanding. I’m usually not one to go for winery memberships and the associated snobbery, but I made an exception for Grape Creek because membership gets you access to a beautiful, breezy shaded patio overlooking the vineyards, as well as a dedicated wine-tasting bar. I also feel good about supporting the budding Texas wine industry with my every-other-month purchases. Tip: members can trade in their free tasting cards for a glass of whatever they want. Overall, worth the price of admission!

Probably my favorite of all the Hill Country vineyards. One of the first wineries to open it has become the standard that the others should aspire. In my opinion the wines have proven themselves over time. I have yet to get a bad wine. The vineyard has matured and produces some very complex grapes for this area. This year they opened a very impressive Italian restaurant. For those who would like to spend a weekend in the Hill Country I recommend that you check out the Grape Creek Bed and Breakfast. I enjoy sitting outside and people watching. They also provide some good entertainment.

Great Texas wine. Great atmosphere. Great people. The guided tour was definitely worth it… it included 3 tastings from the barrel and 6 from the bottle.
