I’ve been going to Dr. Mercado for probably over 10 years and ever since she started those radio advertisements she lost something about actually taking care of her patients and being a doctor. All they care about here is quantity of people that can get through that door to make a paycheck and nothing about the actual care and quality that they give to their patients. I went to a visit recently I ended up seeing several different doctors/​practitioners in her office each time I went they told me that Dr. Mercado is booked three months out so I could not see her and kept bouncing me around. I ended up having to go to Mary Washington emergency room per Dr. Mercado’s office-​because I have a complication and Dr. Mercado flat out lied to me and told me she was going to do an exam but in fact she performed the procedure on me without my acknowledgment or consent and without pain medication and without anesthesia when I was there in the emergency room for eight hours waiting for her to show up finally-​it wasn’t life or death and I was already scheduled to go into the operating room but she told me she had to do a quick exam and she actually performed the procedure instead and the pain was beyond excruciating and traumatizing. I pray that no one else ever has to go through and endure what I did! Dr. Mercado should be ashamed of herself and go back to basics because she apparently does not know how to treat patients nor communicate! I still ended up having to go into the operating room because of her attempted procedure was not successful as if that wasn’t paying enough. After the procedure I never saw or heard from her again. Also staying in the hospital the very next morning when Mary Washington Hospital change shifts at 8 o’clock in the morning they cut off my pain medication so they did not do anything for the pain associated with the operation. I am so disgusted by Dr. Mercado and her practice and Mary Washington hospital I will never go back again and I certainly hope someone reading this review will think of The safety of themselves or their loved ones and go elsewhere.
