An absolutely great Ben & Jerry’s. The employees were very personable and offered free samples. Displays of cones and toppings allow you to pick the best option. The sundae I got was fantastic! I was browsing the retail area and had a couple questions about styles and sizes of shirts. The employees explained to me that they didn’t have unique shirts yet for this L. L Bean location. I explained I’d be visiting the B&J factory next week and they happily explained there were many more shirt choices and they’d be cheaper at the factory too.

I hadn’t been to Ben & Jerry’s in so long. I knew it was somewhere near L.L.Bean but just found it again today. I was sure glad I did but was dismayed that they didn’t have my favorite Half Baked-alas Chocolate Brownie was a great second. Meager portion but I think it’s because you really just want to eat more and more(it’s normal size) but a tad pricey. Yet don’t be cheap and go for it. If you’re looking at the entrance to the Home store it’s to the left. Do it up cheapo.

I was in Freeport today before heading back to Connecticut and wanted to grab a milkshake for the road. Since the Ben & Jerry’s changed locations recently(at least since the last time I was there) I followed my nose that lead me toward the mouthwatering smell of fresh waffle cones cooking up. I approached the new and improved building, located right across from L.L. Bean Home, and read the large menu outside while I decided on what I would order inside and enjoyed the warm sun. Sure enough, when I went inside the colorful and brightly lit space, there was a staff member making fresh waffle cones. Samples of waffle cone pieces were available and they were fresh and tasty. The start of tourist season had hit and the store filled up pretty quickly after I arrived. I ordered a small half mint chocolate chunk and milk & cookies milkshake. It came to a whopping $ 5.24 for a small that was quite small. Taste-wise, it was alright. Good but not great. Half was finished before I got back to the car. So much for drinking it on the road. Other than the price and the«meh» milkshake, this place was okay. Staff were nice and worked quickly, lines moved right along, it’s centrally located among the stores in the Freeport outlets. S’alright. If I had been craving an ice cream cone I would have probably gone to a local place like Gifford’s located before the steps to go up to Nine West or one of the two Linda Bean ice cream windows.
