My favorite spot for blueberry pancakes. The best around the Freeport area in my opinion. Meat portions are inconsistent. Once I ordered the kielbasa and got two large links. The next time I got a half-link of kielbasa sliced into quarter-size portions. I’m not a coffee connoisseur but it seems tasty and reliable.

This is not«fast food». I repeat, don’t stop here if you’re «On the Go». The service is rather slow, but friendly(most of the time). I live in Freeport and like to get the occasional«brunch» combo and by that mean, I get a sandwich and someone else gets breakfast. Freeport isn’t known for it’s brunch«scene» like Portland, so this tends to be our place when we want such things. I am usually happy with my sandwich. I’ve had the haddock sandwich, which is actually REALLY good, and a chicken ceasar wrap(add some croutons to that thing, it will rock your world), both are tasty and worth the money. I think the sandwich is about 8 $, a few dollars cheaper than anything in Portland. Also, I recommend the fresh cut fries with malt vinegar, on the side. Overall, not the best food ever, but also not the worst. This falls somewhere in between and I will continue to eat here because of it. Traditional and simple with very midwestern flavor.

We live in Freeport and this is our place for some standard American fair. Unfortunately, with both the food and the service, it is hit or miss. I have had eggs benedict, breakfast platters, and a haddock sandwich. The breakfast foods have been cold or undercooked, they have also been totally fine. The haddock sandwich was good. The french fries are also good. I really think it depends upon the day and who is working. If you are in the Freeport area, this place may give you some good food or it may not. So far, the fried food has been fairly reliable. My advice, stick with that.

Needed a place for a quick breakfast near Yarmouth and my daughter suggested the Freeport Café, which I had passed every day for years on my way to work and the Y but had never tried. Frankly, I always thought of it as kind of a stodgy old place where older folks go to eat bland food(no offence). But we were served quickly, by a friendly and pleasant waitress, and the food was very good. I’d definitely go again, and not wait until I’m older and stodgy! :)

Great blueberry pancakes and grilled blueberry muffins. Potato chip chocolate chip cookies are pretty good, too. Benedict was great & runny one morning but overlooked with hard yolks the next, so specify how you like your yolks! Hollandaise was great, though. Best breakfast in Freeport as far as we can tell. We would come back for sure.

We just left this café and I apologized to my husband bc I can’t stop saying how good my bfast was at this café. The line was long(a good sign) but we were seated right away. Our waitress was excellent, as was the service. I ordered the eggs benedict and just had to have a Blueberry pancake(only charged me $ 1.99). The eggs benedict actually had a thick piece of ham and everything about it was outstanding. I was glad I got the Blueberry pancake bc that was filled with blueberries and was cooked to perfection. My husband got the«Favorite» with homemade corned beef hash, real potatoes(which also came with mine but I didn’t touch), and 2 eggs. When they said homemade they mean it-real potatoes and real corned beef, not canned. From now on when we go to Maine we’ll make a point of stopping here. Well worth any line.

I haven’t been to Freeport Café in years. Glad to make it back, this time for dinner(they’re usually mobbed on weekends for breakfast). Basic diner/café food specializing in fried seafood. Went with the seafood platter, which was hearty and not too greasy. Their seafood chowder was very good. They bake their own pies and blueberry was one of the choices, so I had to have a slice, heated, with vanilla ice cream. Yum! Yum! They serve pizza and sandwiches, also, as well as breakfast all day.

We occasionally stop here for Sunday breakfast. It’s reliable and decent for a good breakfast meal, nothing special. No alcohol for bloodies or mimosas, so plan accordingly. Standard breakfast and lunch fare for a diner, baked goods are pretty tasty. It can get crowded with the church crowd so time your trip appropriately. 10:30 is a good time. Food is typically served quick, so you likely won’t have to wait long. Homemade hash is good, but often not as crispy as I would want it. Home fries have an Indian flare to them — jury still out. OJ not fresh. Overall, I’d say it’s exactly what you would expect when you pull up in the lot.

Good solid place to get breakfast. The food was typical but well done. The service was excellent though. We showed up on a Sunday morning with 8 people in our group including two small children and two teenagers. I was sure there would be no way that they could accommodate us. Within minutes they had two tables of four available that were directly across from each other. The hostess and the waiter were extremely friendly and efficient. The waiter deserves special credit for handling our two separate tables simultaneously… especially since the two younger children were not particularly well behaved.

You don’t have to check into the hotel to eat here, everyone is welcome! We had a cup of their award-winning clam chowder — absolutely wonderful! THEYHAVEEGGSBENEDICT on the breakfast menu(served anytime) which was amazing since we can’t find it in Biloxi, and it tasted amazing as well! They make their own potato chips and have a homemade corned beef hash for a small upcharge(the canned variety is available as a regular side). We were a party of four who had all the foods mentioned above, plus clam cakes and a Reuben — none of us were disappointed! They serve oyster crackers with their soup; they have a nice selection of hot teas; their portions are generous and we took food home. Stop by if you’re in the area — it’s modest and unassuming on the outside, but really packs a punch on the inside — you won’t be sorry! PS: the upcharge is worth it on the corned beef.

Staying at the Freeport Inn next door we came here on our last day for breakfast. The seating is a bit cramped, but we managed. The eggs benedict is the star here, but nothing else really compares. My kids pancakes were bland and tough, my wife’s oatmeal was like wallpaper paste. The service was prompt but impersonal, and the purported«muffin man» didn’t deliver on the Lemon Raspberry, it wasn’t a stand out. Mediocre offerings. Good in a pinch.

Stopped by one night ordered the special Caesar salad with fried haddock. Delicious fish, huge portion. Fried clams were also quite good. About a week later stopped in and without the haddock salad special on the board, we both ordered the haddock DINNER. What came out was a haddock sandwich with a single piece of haddock on a bun. When we asked the waitress she said, «oh the dinner is served as a sandwich.» If it’s a sandwich, it should say sandwich on the menu, right? «oh yeah I’ll change that the next the we print the menus» Good place for breakfast but too inconsistent for me for dinner.

I’ve driven past this café for almost 2 years. We stopped in this afternoon for supper. Quaint older style café with a newer additional dining room. Menu is typical of a local diner. Fried clams were slightly overcooked. Home style onion rings were absolutely fantastic. My wife had haddock with handout french fries and both were excellent.

An extremely good, filling meal for a low price. Friendly service. Their veggie wrap is delicious and light. Their omelettes are a bit heavier but tasty.

This little eatery is what makes stopping at the Freeport best western special. You roll outta bed and make your way to the café. The one draw back it’s small, but that’s the only one. The staff are great treat you like your at your Great Aunt Minnie’s house and she’s whipping up home style breakfast. When you finished and you always have to clean your plate hope you parked your vehicle on the lower level as you’ll have to roll out the door. Home style jams, thick toast steak and eggs cooked to perfection hash browns, English tea or coffee. God I’m getting hungry for a good road trip. Being a maritimer your picking on the chowders, no one makes it like mom or now me but this establishment has it dead on. If there for lunch I’ll have seafood or fish chowder. The atmosphere is east coast L L bean and I hope they never change.

Food was good. Standard breakfast diner fare. Better than most similar places. Certainly one of the better places to grab a traditional breakfast in the Freeport area. There seemed to be some confusion on what to do when you walk in the door and they’re crowded. Their employees could do a lot better of a job of alleviating that confusion. Their wait staff seemed mostly ambivalent to whether or not you were seated in a timely manner or even greeted properly. Overall, service could be improved. A little more attentiveness and a lot more friendliness from the staff would be most appreciated. Restaurant is clean and well-maintained.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible dining experience, I had terrible service that the server never came over and there was only one other table in the whole place. Worst off was the food! Would have gotten better food and bang for my buck at mc donalds! I got the chicken Caesar wrap and there was nothing in it, it was flat tasted nothing Caesar at all and when i complained that I got more in a dollar snack wrap at McDonald’s she brought it back just wrapped it again and put a pick in it thinking it would look fixed but nothing was added or fixed! $ 8 for that no thank you ever! Then took forever for us to leave waiting on the server when everything was so bad we just wanted to walk out. Im a server and couldn’t believe what I was experiencing! Disgusting food and so over priced! Never going back!

Digest version: friendly and pleasant service, inferior cooking. No substitutions allowed– so if your needs or likes are non-standard you’ll pay more. Ordered the Favorite breakfast with homemade hash(extra crispy) and eggs over medium. The hash was completely soft, with an interesting if overdone nutmeg flavor– and too salty to eat. Eggs came out VERY easy, yolk and whites running all over the plate. Our server had the eggs redone(just right the second time) and comped the hash. Potatoes were also quite salty, and coated with some pinkish flavoring I wasn’t crazy about. My husband’s bacon was a bit limp, and the toast was storebought. Other reviewers have called this the best breakfast in Freeport– I sure hope not. Just barely OK.

I have enjoyed my breakfast on every visit. This is in my opinion best breakfast option available in Freeport. Service is great too. On my last there was a lady that cut us in the line and waitress sat her too before us which made me upset.
