This place is horrible. Service is inconsistent. Sometimes you get good service and sometimes bad. I love to support local business but this place doesn’t have good managers to balance out the horrible service. It sucks that I have to travel further for IHOP when there’s one in the neighborhood. I’m totally turned off and tired of guessing what type of service I’m going to get each visit.(Sighs). Oh well. If the owner really cared he/she would do their best to have a good staff who’s number one concern is customer service and giving customers a great experience. I went there today and left there still hungry because of their mistakes. It sucks when you go out to eat with the family and service is so bad you still have to figure out what you gonna eat. I’m turned all the way off

I will start with this, I have been a big fan of IHOP in the past but this experience nearly ended my love for the crêpe destination i looked fwd to normally. Yes probably not the smartest choice for a Saturday night visit, however, with the original choice of meal having a 2 hour wait, we just opted to reverse meals and visit here… Firstly, this location was one of the nicest and cleanest locations we had been to in a while for an IHOP, however that was the highlight of the trip. We were seated immediately as only a few patrons were scarce throughout the restaurant. without a doubt, the service was attentive, hospitable and quick, the food was a major let down. The swedish crepes normally smothered with the berries and a decent amount of lingonberry butter arrived only with 1 tsp of butter if that and the berries tasted odd too. crepes were ok and I could look past the oddness of the berries. The other big let down was hair in the mash potatoes clearly visible as a side dish for the tilapia. yes, accidents happen, but if its clearly visible, please don’t let it come out to the table. As soon as the plate made it to the table, immediately sent back as even the server didn’t blink to notice and offer a replacement, which took another 20 mins to come out, and in this time, everyone was already done eating. Overall, the service was good, the food was the biggest disappointment.

The best pancakes in town. You have try the butter pecan syrup. It’s amazing. The server was very busy with many tables, but was attentive and helpful. When you order the spinach mushroom omelette make sure you state with or without the hollandaise sauce. Didn’t realize it came swimming in sauce. But the remake was superb. Overall a good experience.

Staff was very kind Thats the only reason for two stars I ordered takeout today and found a hair that in no way looked like it came from a human head. Very very unpleasant Definitely a rushed order as the omelette barely took up 1⁄8 of the container it was placed in

Don’t waste your time. Food was horrible, service non existent. Nothing else to say except skip it. Now I’m on my way to grab some Chinese. Couldn’t even stomach to eat my meal. They evidently use very cheap suppliers.

Came here yesterday’s with my son. I was greeted and seated promptly. It was very busy like you would expect Ihop to be on a Saturday morning but I was seated within 15 minutes. My table was clean and I was greeted by my server within 10minutes. My food came quickly. I got the spinach and mushroom omelette which is one of my faves. My son got the Jr. Chicken and Waffles which he really seemed to enjoy. It took a little while for the waitress to come back to my table and process my check, but overall I had a good dining experience.

Just left IHOP with my little princess and what start out as a bad experience turned into a perfect one. We got there and we had to wait 20min just to get our waitress and my little girl was thirsty and hungry. Our waitress, however, was just amazing. Her name was Samantha and let me say that she apologized and she took our orders and got our orders out quick and stayed on top of us to make sure everything was fine. My little girl told me that Samantha was the best waitress she ever had and I have to agree

Do not come here. They are short staffed and your food will be cold and chances are your order will be wrong. Horrible experience.

I tried to give this location another chance. I thought after the renovations the service and food would be better… WRONG. The host was watching a video on his phone while we waited there to be seated. Then the food didn’t taste fresh not even the pancakes. How to you mess up pancakes??? I’m giving this location a mental funeral.

Ok so I have been here several times and to my disappointment I had a horrible experience last night. There were 3 of us who ordered. It started out with only 2 place settings and the waitress didn’t notice. So one order came out a good 5 minutes before anyone else. Then the waitress brought out half of my order and forgot the side on the other order. So we were eating at different times. But here is the kicker… I ordered a fried chicken dinner. The chicken was cooked extra hard to me. BUT when I bit into the chicken breast it was ICECOLD and uncooked! I couldn’t believe it! So of course I got the waitress to give me new cooked chicken! I am convinced that IHop uses frozen pre-fried chicken like the old Banquet Fried chicken that is cooked in the oven. I asked for the manager(who looked like he was about 25 years old) and he apologized several times and took 20% off the bill. So I basically ate for free but I would have rather have had a cooked meal! Sadly I like this IHop and read the other negative reviews, but my experience last night gives me no choice but suggest to anyone eating IHop to never order the fake fried chicken dinner. Hopefully they will get it together there. The waitress was very nice and I know it wasn’t her fault but I hope IHop gets it together.

It is my hope to enlighten not only your supporting staff but your managers of the importance of being the best at what ever you do. Today my family and I visited your Freeport location in hopes of partaking in what we have known to be formerly an enjoyable meal. Having been too this particular location on previous occasions, we were quite surprised of the low level of quality presented to us. I found it irreprehensible the amount of filth on the floors as a whole. As we were taken to our table I took notice that underneath the table was very nasty and dirty followed by the huge tear in the seating. It was asked that we be placed at another table. Again, I found it lacking cleanliness and asked to have the table cleaned off because of a substance on it. While I was grateful to have the table wipe clean, I am not sure why the practice of cleaning any table with a wet rag and not followed by a dry one is not the«norm». Who wants to possibly touch a wet table? Not me, I find it unappealing and should not have to sit at a wet table at any time. The service was slow, lacking and our server was ill-informed of what was available. At this time I went to visit the restroom but before I could even make it I took notice that the kitchen floor was laden with objects on the floor that didn’t belong; a total hazard to your employees. I’m sure this is an OSHA no-no. As I proceeded to the restroom I was again met by filth. Toilet paper everywhere and things stuck to the toilet seat, this was in both stalls. I only wished that I had thought to take pictures. Another thing I will not ever understand is why in such a place as an eatery, does not the establishment provide«HOT» water. I for one and I am sure there are many others that would want to know this answer. Not only is it a sanitary thing but for someone such as myself who suffers with a debilitating ailment, cold water is not my friend. The other thing is while I know all companies look to lower their overhead, hand towels should not be one of them. Think about it… If someone uses the toilet and then proceeds to leave the restroom without washing their hands, me washing my hands is negated simply because once I do wash my hands I now get to touch the very door they used to exit. That hand towel would have helped me pass that situation. It’s not where you should cut cost. At last I thought it was a practice to have someone service the restroom at regular intervals?! That apparently is not the case and was astonished at what I saw as a complete disregard for clean hygiene. Mom always told me that if a persons bathroom and kitchen were unclean the entire place was unclean. I find that to be true. Now back to my table where my husband is asking to see a manager because he was served a glass of water with a noticeable chip in it(yet another moment I wish I had thought to take pictures, it won’t be a mistake I make again). Imagine if that had gone more wrong then it did, I hate the thought of it. I can’t tell you the level of discontent that has hit the two of us at this very moment. I will spare you the entire dialogue between myself and your manager as it was less then stellar. But what I will share with you is that your employees as a whole need to be retrained entirely. I don’t have to tell you that an ineffective manager leads to bad business. I am tired of giving my money to bad businesses that don’t think that one person makes a difference. You have been in business far too long not to know better. If your manager isn’t managing the supporting staff then I am only to believe no one is watching the managers and the store is left to fail. Please also know that while we were offered our meal free of charge, we did not finish it or take the left overs(there was plenty). My family lost their appetites completely. We were in total agreement that we have never left an establishment feeling that way. What I want your team to understand is that whether or not I spend this amount of money $$ or this amount $$$ that when I come out to eat I want a level of service that anyone would want. Cleanliness should never be comprised. Understand that this may be the only time that I get to be out with my family and that time is important too me and them. It should not be wasted on less then enthused employees. I believe in the power of the pen, so while you have received this letter know that I will absolutely be writing a review on both«Urban Spoon» & «Yelp». I might be only one person but I can make a difference. To that end I hope to see changes made in the near future. Well that was short lived as I have just read another review with the very same complaints, and that was in 2012. How sad that your establishment hasn’t taken notice.

I have been going to this IHOP since it opened a little over 1 yr ago and it’s probably the best on LI. The establishment is very clean, wait staff very friendly and accommodating. Yes, during peak breakfast time and dinner there can be a wait, but they keep it moving. The food is excellent and for as long as I have been going to IHOP, over 20 yrs, they make one of the best T-Bone steak combo breakfasts out there bar none. I had it here a few days ago and it was fantastic as always. I would highly recommend this place for both the service, staff and food!

In my last review I applauded this IHOP for good service. This time however, service was lousy. Our waitress didn’t get one thing right with our order. The coffee was old and cold. It probably came right off another table, along with the little milk bowl with used creamers. Eww. We got our food but couldn’t eat it because we had no silverware until we asked for it. This waitress was plain lazy! We left no tip as she didn’t deserve any gratuity!

Not bad for an IHOP. Food is always good. Waits can be long here and service could be better at times.

I have been frequenting this IHOP since it opened not too long ago, and have always received what I would call a 3.5 star experience, but my latest occasion there has been the catalyst for this review. Recently I came here with my friend Jean. The first thing we noticed that was out of place was that we were sat by someone in plain street clothes. The young man was amiable enough, but it seemed weird that he had a winter cap on, with baggy black jeans, and a north face jacket on. When we were sat were weren’t given silverware either and one of our menus was missing a few pages. We pointed these things out and we received a new menu and some silverware, but not from our waitress. Around 10min after we were sat the waitress finally get around to us and asks us what we would like to drink. I ordered coffee and when given the option of half and half or milk I chose the milk. Our waitress returned with a bowl of half and half. Now it’s not really a big deal that she brought half and half, I’ll have my coffee with half and half no problem, but it was just disconcerting that she wasn’t really listening. While waiting for our food took a good look around and notice that the floors were pretty filthy around us. Four tables had been pushed together next to us and on the floor were several sugar packets, opened and unopened. There were several pieces of silver, straws, straw wrappers, and other misc rubbish. We also started to notice a large gathering of works by the door(no less than eight of them.) We thought this was strange because A) Some of them were in plain clothes, B) They were obstructing the entrance, C) We weren’t really being given much attention. It was at this point we asked to speak to the manager. A woman came over who already seemed as if she could’t wait to leave our presence. The first thing we pointed out was the floors. Honestly if we were just sat in another section we might not have even noticed. Jean couldn’t finish his sentence before the woman started lambasting him, saying that ‘this is a great place.’ Jean retorted that we thought so too otherwise we wouldn’t have come, but all that aside the floors were dirty. She then tried to blame a group of special needs individuals that came in an hour before. Honestly I thought it was pretty bad that she wanted to blame some customers, who were special needs, and they came in an hour ago, but I let her continue. Both Jean and I realized that this woman was not going to be receptive to our feedback so we let her leave, which is what she had been wanting to do. It was a real disappointment because the place isn’t bad. The service is ok, the food is good, and the décor is warm and relaxing. IHOP is what it is, you’re not going there for some french duck, but this experience really ruined things for me and I expect not to return there ever.

Clean… no sticky seats, and good flapjacks. Just the way I like it. Service was Ok. I ordered the«pancake platter» but the waiter asked me how I liked my eggs… He quickly realized his error. He then brought out the meal and left ketchup on the table for the eggs I did not order. Weird guy. but seemed like a good dude.

IHOP is IHOP. There’s certainly nothing wrong with this location and the food isn’t bad at all. Why isn’t it four stars then? Well, that would put it on par with some of the other restaurants I’ve left reviews for that had four stars, and I don’t come away with the same orgasmic feeling that I do when I leave those places. The food itself is what you’d expect from any other IHOP: satisfying. I happen to be a fan because it’s good, affordable food and the hot chocolate is a sugary cup of awesomeness. That, and they opened this new location a block from my home. So, I can walk on over whenever I feel like. Don’t go if you’re expecting the most amazing cuisine of your life. But if you’re looking to fill your belly, and leave with a smile on your face, all at a reasonable price, this’ll do the trick. Being as this is a brand new location(at the time of this review), the interior is still very clean and the staff is especially friendly. Though, it’s weird being served by people I went to high school with. I expect the service quality to drop after a year, when they’re old news. Though, I sincerely hope the interior doesn’t become unbearably depressing like the Valley Stream location. The hours, however, could be later in order to better compete with another late-night eatery in town, Imperial Diner, which is a longtime favorite of Freeport’s denizens. I’m curious to see how the two, who are within walking distance of one another, will affect each other’s business. It’s the story of David and Goliath. The inclusion of a calorie conscious menu(IHOP for Me) is also a godsend in a place like this. All-in-all, it’s IHOP. If you’ve had it once, you’ve had it a million times. If you aren’t a fan of the House of Pancakes, this location isn’t going to change your mind. But if it was a childhood favorite, like it was for me, then it won’t disappoint.
