So the whole premise behind this place is that they cook their food in a lava stone at your table. But, guess what? They fail to plan for large party so the rest of us got the shaft. This clearly falls under #youhadonejobtodo. Food wise. Fries were good. My husband ordered a Caesar salad and got the house salad with Caesar dressing. I ordered the salmon which was over-cooked. Prices were too high for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. The décor and dress of the staff was dumpy looking. Service was slow.

Delicious food! I had the grilled Reuben and it was the best ever! The German Chocolate torte was outstanding! I will definitely visit again!

When we heard there was a new gastro pub in town we decided to give it a try. Simply put we had an excellent experience and will be back for sure. I guess this place opened over the summer and there may have been a rough patch in the beginning. Well, nothing like that was evident when we came in. Service was excellent, food came out quickly and was expertly prepared. For starters we had the fried manchego and soup(very tasty) For entrée, I had the tofu steak(it with other steaks comes out on a lava stone — very cool) with some dipping sauces(BBQ, garlic aioli, and sesame) and thought it was delicious, while my wife had a burger.(I have no idea about the reviewer here who said there wasn’t much variation in the menu — I thought there were plenty of good choices.) And we loved the pour your own beer wall! I got to try 7 different beers and ciders, which was perfect if all you want is a taste and not a full glass. All in all, this is a great new addition to Freeport and I hope it’s successful!

Really pleased with the fish and chips extravaganza on Friday night. Fish was crispy outside, moist but nicely cooked inside. The pickles/veggies are crisp and colorful and piquant and delicious! Good beer and cider selection. Live music and a roaring fire to sit around after. Good Friday night experience.

There still are not that many great places to eat in Freeport shopzillacity but this place was a nice break for a quieter fall day with lots of outdoor seating where to can tie up your dog to a railing. Service was friendly enough. I had a lobster panini which was fresh and delicious but don’t expect as much meat as your typical roll. The German potatoe salad was roasted and had bits of ham, nice surprise. Had a nice French rose by the glass, too.(One odd thing about Yp though, they keep outdated coupons up which force you to check in despite expired deal.)

After a long day of shopping my 22 month old son loved playing on the fenced in playground almost as much as Mom enjoyed her pumpkin beer in the sun. The reuben was the best I have ever had, and my husband loved his top notch burger. HIGHLY recommend stopping here to refuel!!!

The best bier hall you haven’t tried. Grab a group of friends, head to this spacious place and sip a few hours away. The selection of beer and wine is unparalleled by any place in the area; all wines available in four sizes(with great descriptions in a binder), 25+ beers on tap, and a strong selection of bottled beers. 10 of these beers are available by the ounce in a self-serve format complete with instructions on how to pour. Create your own flight or try all 10. I tried 5 for under $ 7 — amazing. These offerings range from local microbrews to esteemed German imports. The owner, who spent years abroad in Germany and beyond, brings his Continental flair and knowledge to the establishment. A quick look at the recent Octoberfest menu made me pine for German fare with offerings of spaetzle, brotchen, and other specialties. But the flatbread pizza at the neighboring table smelled amazing too. We stopped in for a nightcap but will definitely return for a meal. And to continue with the Wall of Beer.

Went in for lunch and ordered off the tapas menu. The selection was unique to the area and the presentation was great, too. All very tasty and huge beer selection. Friendly staff! Only downfall was they don’t have an updated system to keep track of what beers are in or out, so have a backup beer in mind. Otherwise great, we’ll be back and wish them luck!

Have been twice now… First time enjoyed lunch with my son on the porch. Nice sunny summer afternoon. The food was very good: had the reuben and cheeseburger and yummy fries. Wait staff were attentive and nice. Last night went with friends for a drink. Cool beer wall. Haven’t seen anything like it locally. Live music! Tiki Tom was enjoyable. Wish more people knew about this new place. Outside biergatten looks cool with seating around fire pit. Will try that next.

Easily the worst restaurant in Freeport. And we are local so we have been to them all. Staff is nice but clearly have no idea what they are doing. Owner came out to apologize for the slow service because they were at «maximum capacity.» Sure, it was busy but there was plenty of staff. No reason for the manager to have to come out, in jeans and sneakers, to offer up olives to customers who had to wait. Self serve beer idea is cool but placement is impeding bar traffic and it looks ridiculous. And I watched people completely not know how to pour a decent beer and not a single bartender offered assistance. You pay per ounce, so you’re paying for all the head your pouring for yourself. Then they played fake MTVONTHETV. In the bar area? They have some crazy karaōke room with padded, leather sofas and disco lights. We wanted to sit in a social place, have a couple drinks with dinner and relax. Food tasted good but don’t go if you want any ambiance.

I don’t generally write reviews but felt the need to here. I stopped by Sterling & Mull for lunch, I was greeted by the hostess right away she was very friendly and asked if I wanted to sit inside or out, I chose the deck. My server was Paul who was very friendly extremely attentive and super knowledgeable. I ordered the Scottish style fish and chips, my food came out very quick. I must say that this was the best fish & chips I have had since I was in Scotland a few years ago. I was also very impressed with the wall of beer, although I did not use the beer wall I will next time I go which will be often. I highly recommend Sterling & Mull If you want great food, great drink and great service. 5 stars from me.

Terribly bland, poorly served, over priced food. I have never before written a review on any restaurant I have visited, but felt compelled to do so on Stirling and Mull. All tables in our vicinity sent something back to the kitchen. I paid $ 13 for a below average burger and my wife had some pretzel balls and mustard dip.. . $ 10! The glass of wine was very expensive and a very small glass of wine. I eat out a lot and around the world, this is the most disappointing meal I have ever had and I was shocked at the prices. They opened on 04JUL2015. I recommend you avoid until they have ironed out the kinks.

This new place is definitely an improvement on the restaurant that was in this location last summer. We came for a late lunch today. I had the rueben sandwich– a very good rueben, mind you– and my friend very much enjoyed their cheeseburger. Overall though, the menu was a little unimaginative and lacking in any true dinner entrees. I asked the host for a dinner menu, but he informed me that the lunch and dinner menu were the same. So again, limited options with nothing that really«wows» you. The food came out quick, but don’t come here if you’re looking for a lot of seafood options. One of the cooler features is their fill-your-own beer taps. You get a wristband that keeps track of how many ounces of beer you pour into your glass; you’re charged by the ounce. They have several varieties on tap ranging from local breweries to overseas imports including Allagash Curieux and Paulaner Hefeweizen. It’s a good way to try lots of different things and not have to order a full beer. The interior could use some décor, maybe something that gives it more of a European/Biergarten vibe, since that is sort of along the lines of what they’re going for. It’s still a new restaurant, so maybe they have future plans for that. I’ll probably be back for the interactive beer taps again– definitely nothing like that anywhere else around Freeport.
