Really good cheesesteaks, pretty darn good fish and chips, an underrated salad bar, and it’s really affordable. One of Fremont’s hidden gems.

One of my all time favorite mom & pop spots in the east bay, right around the corner from great Afghani spots. I use to live in the area and would come here all the time. The hoagies are tasty and a decent size. The udon noodle soups and other Asian food items are also pretty good. they offer a variety of hot sauces for those who are brave enough to try. A casual spot serving tasty food that won’t make a huge dent in your wallet. Definitely a must if you’re in the area.

Best Philly cheese steaks you will find in Fremont, though not the best you will ever eat!

So excited, I finally found a Philly cheesesteak I like on the west coast. Came in for the first time and brought my parents from New York, we enjoyed it thoroughly. Cheesesteak sandwich under six bucksamazing. Worth the drive to Fremont. Thanks everyone for the recommendation for this place

THEBEEFRIBS I USEDTOORDER After graduating from high school I would go to eat here often. In fact I found this place by accident and long before Unilocal was created. Several years ago my cousin and I stumbled here when we were trying to find something to eat. Both of us ordered the beef short ribs dinner, which comes with rice and vegetables. That’s what we thought we ordered. When we got out our dish it was 8 full size beef ribs — 4 for each dish. Barbecue sauce was slathered over these ribs. We were shocked but delighted with these ribs. I started coming here for the beef ribs. Even though I ordered their hoagies the beef ribs kept me coming back here. I came here last Saturday for lunch. It was the first time I ate here in about 4 years. So I tried to relive my memories by ordering the short beef ribs. For appetizers I ordered the tempura zucchini, which I ordered a lot in the past. The fried zucchini were still fresh as I remembered. When the beef short ribs arrived they were the Korean style short beef ribs. These short ribs were delicous, but not what I expected. I wanted to give this place another try. I came here Wednesday night for dinner. In the past I remembered there used to be a nightly dinner special listed on a plastic whiteboard that would be posted in the counter. On that dinner special would be the beef ribs. I didn’t see the plastic whiteboard. I asked the server, the same one I remembered when I used to eat here, if they have the beef ribs. She said the ribs that are served here are the Korean style beef sorry ribs. I was bummed. So I ordered the pepperoni pizza hoagy and two piece fish and chips. Regarding the hoagy I like how the meat is moist but not sloppy however the bread was soft. I prefer my hoagy with a toasted, crunchy bread. I enjoyed the fish and chips more because the portion of the fish. I didn’t like the fries that much because it was soggy and not crispy enough. I’m glad I did come here to eat twice. I wanted to see if this place was the same in the past. The menu is basically the same as I ate here before. The owner is still there. Will I come here again anytime soon? After not getting the full size beef ribs that I used to get in the past I don’t see any reason to eat here soon. Sometimes you can’t relive the past.

We ordered fish and chips, a large regular hoagie with fries, and one beer and our order came to about $ 20. The hoagie was tasty, but on the dry side. We thought the fish was better. It was crispy outside, flaky inside, not greasy, and battered just right. The fries were good, too! I dig the place and will be back. The food is solid.

A friend recommended Bob’s for Philly Cheese-steak sandwiches instead of driving down to Amato’s in San Jose. The Cheese-steak are fantastic — although not as large as Amato’s — but that is OK. I guess Bob’s has been here on Fremont Blvd. for a while… it was hard to find(on a first time) and I passed by it twice. Parking is in the rear and the best way to enter the lot is the entry way before the corner store that is is Fremont and Peralta. The prices for a Cheese-steak are very reasonable for what you get. You get value here. I would certainly recommend these folks.

I have driven past this place many times. I was in the mood for fish and chips. Not bad! Quick service. Not only did I enjoy a pair of fish but had a sandwich to take home

Nice low key vibe this place. We’ve eaten here a few times over the years and maybe we’ll come a little more frequently. We ordered the steak stir fry with tofu and veggies, medium spicy, and I think next time we’ll get it hot spicy. I like a cheesesteak now and then but they have some other dishes that are worth looking at if you’re not into it. Personal thing here, but there’s a dilapidated former Sizzler’s nearby that I used to get all you can eat shrimp and fries at when I was a little kid. The fries here are the same kind, thick, crispy on the outside, hot and mealy on the inside. It’s very easy to pass this place by onto more gentrified bits of Fremont(with more coming), but stick around in Little Kabul and take a side trip to Hoagy Steaks on a Friday night. You’ll get your cheese steak fix with a wonderful array of hot sauces to get you warmed up on these coming winter nights.

So i am giving 4 stars instead of 5 solely based on the lack of customer service. I ordered the fish and chips and Philly cheesesteak to go. It took about 10 mins which was fine. Once it was ready, the lady in the back who was cooking brought it out to me. She called my order # and literally looked me up and down with what felt like disapproval!!! She just stood there and glared at me as I walked over to get my food. Never smiled or said thank you or have a great day or anything, just glared at me with a frown. Is this how you treat your customers??? The food was delicious!!! Fish and chips were crunchy and delicious!!! The sandwich was also very good. Their prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food you get. Will be going back for sure just won’t be expecting a smile with the service!

Came her because the afghan place across the street was crowded. Walking into the restaurant felt kind of weird, it felt very old school and kind of creepy. Anyhow the hoagy here was amazing. A lot of meat, cheese, mushrooms. You name it. The bread was great and tasty. There are plenty of hot sauce on the wall for people who are spice lovers. The prices were fairly cheap for such a large meal. I’d definitely come here again.

We were greeted upon arrival as he patiently waited for us to order. We opted for the bell peppers and the large was huge. The regular fries are the thick cut ones, which everything was good. Prices seem reasonable and our indoor dinning experience for the first time was good.

The best Fish & Chips in town! Or get the Seafood Combo for variety. Huge portions for reasonable price. Mom & pops ran. And if you’re into spicy, they have an array of hot sawzz. Remember to park in the back… little entry way to the right of the resto.

It’s cheap and it’s not awful. That’s all I really have to say about this place. The food is of average quality. It still prefer the Cheesesteak Shop better but that is way pricier than this place. A $ 5 sandwich is a pretty good deal. I got a large Philly Cheesesteak and it was a decent portion. You pay for what you get. The roll isn’t the freshest but it still provides a nice surface for the meat. The meat is of pretty decent quality. My major gripe is the cheese that they use. Imitation Kraft Singles is not what I want on my cheesesteak. The place is kind of old and not really appealing so I opted to take it to go. Overall, I would say that I would definitely come back if I felt a craving for a cheap cheesesteak. It’s affordable, near my house, and hits the spot when I’m craving a cheesesteak. That’s about as good as I can ask for.

Jonna B. and I had never experienced the rudeness mentioned by several other Unilocalers until recently. While I was placing our order at the register, Jonna B. perused the hot sauce selection and found an empty bottle of our favorite hot sauce. I politely asked the owner’s wife if she could replace it. Without even making eye contact and in a dismissive tone, she promptly refused and suggested that I should purchase a bottle. Needless to say, we canceled our order immediately and left. It’s bad enough that they gave us food poisoning on a separate occasion and we made the mistake of coming back. After patronizing this dirty little dive for over 14 years, I will never return. C’est la vie !!

I’m still a fan of this Centerville dive. Just as you would not knock a cheese steak joint in Philly, nor an Italian Beef place in Chi-town for it’s divey atmo, nor should you mind it here. I revel in it actually. There are 2 things that are so solid here that I don’t deviate between the two. First, like my original review states, hoagies or cheese steaks, whatever you call em, are the deal-e-o here. It is not the individual ingredients themselves that make this, but rather the total sum when they are together. I’m sure everybody has had a cheese steak at some point, so all I’ll add here is that they are consistent after making thousands of them. The beef isn’t incredibly cheap, it actually taste of natural beef and it browns well on their griddle. The veggies are standard fresh, I find the trio of bell peppers/mushroom/onions to be irresistible. The cheese isn’t gourmet, but a cheese steak favors this style. Sure it is a little greasy(by default) but they do a good job at not destroying the bread from excess oil. I like the cheese steaks here better than The Cheese Steak Shop chain. The other thing they do well here is Fish & Chips. Again, not high end fish but appropriate for the application. Never asked what type, but it is clean and white and flakes easily, maybe cod. The batter is super basic, but crisp most of the time. It is so basic that it is literally screaming to get doused with malt vinegar, salt and hot sauce. The fries/chips are steak fries(not my fave) but again does well for the application. Although not healthy, every month or so, I’ll crave these staples here. Kinda how a werewolf turns on a full moon, I get beastly for these classics once in a while. And it helps if there is a compelling game to be watched, classic!

My friend and I were craving some cheesesteaks and stumbled upon this place! The place doesn’t look too appealing from the outside especially since it’s in a congested area, but wow this is quite the hidden gem. We ordered the large Teriyaki Steak Hoagy and the Mexican Hoagy with fries. Both were loaded with juicy, tender, flavorful meat. Mine came with teriyaki sauce, grilled onions and mushrooms plus cheese! And the bun was toasted perfectly. The outside wasn’t overly crispy like other places and the inside was as soft as a pillow. The place feels homey. A lot of furniture seems like it is the original stuff they’ve had since they bought the place. The staff is super friendly and their bathrooms are super clean! It’s honestly the newest thing that they have there haha! If you’re in Fremont and craving a hearty cheesesteak this spot won’t disappoint. They also have a decent selection of hot sauces for those who like to live on the edge.

I was in Fremont yesterday and found myself being really hungry, I Unilocaled a good place to check out in Fremont, and this place showed up near me, so I have you guys to thank Unilocalers! Upon entry, you will notice several sauces on the wall, most of which are hot sauces, but they have and extensive amount of sauces to choose from! It is actually really fun trying some of them out! I got a philly cheesesteak sandwich with a side of curly fries, and a can of pepsi and it was around $ 11, which isn’t all that much once you go about taking a bite! I posted some pictures of this meaty cheese filled wonder before I doused it in ranch, and I enjoyed every single bite! The curly fries are totally worth it! The regular fries taste as plane as they look. The customer service was actually really good! There was a shorter hispanic lady that helped me out with a genuine smile. I was very comfortable! Shout out to her! Overall; great price for some good quality food. Nice little hole0in0the-wall feel. Spectacular customer service!
