delicious food, good value in my opinion. and I like how they vent the to go boxes to keep the chicken crispy, shows a lot of thought went into their food :)

Chicken is outstanding! I always get the sweet and hot. Only complaint will be the wait time.

This is my top 3 chicken places in the Bay Area. I’ve been to many chicken places, and Coco is usually what I compare any other place to. The venue is simple with about 7 tables ready for parties of 4. The complimentary salad bar is always a must with their two dressings. I know them as the white and brown dressing. I prefer the brown for my taste buds. As for the chicken, I choose the soy & garlic flavor, but since you could order two, the hot & sweet is the second flavor. This is korean style chicken where you don’t get the fried batter, just a tasty deep-fried oil with tasty flavors. Don’t expect to get your order right away, it takes time to get such a delicious chicken. So after my coworkers and I order, I run over to the comic book store and browse a bit. When I come back, get my salad and soon enough, the chicken arrives. I’ve returned to this place multiple times and have had no complaints. As for the wait service, the place is small enough, so if you need a refill of water or whatever, just flag them down. Usually when we go, they keep an eye on our beverages.

First, let me preface this review by saying I’m not a fan of fried chicken. The Colonel, Popeye’s…nah, I’ll pass. My hubby loves it tho, so I suggested we try Coco Chicken on our recent family vacay to the Fremont theme park areas. Wooohooo, Lucky for my waistline this is not a hometown option for me! It’s amazingly good! On a Friday evening, we found about a 30 min wait for a table and chose takeout instead. Chicken was hot, fresh and still so fantastically crispy without all that nasty breading. I’ve never had chicken so good! Sides were delish too, and the sauces perfectly compliment the paper-thin fried skin. Prices are good for the portions… large order fed our family of 4! Sorry South… KFC now stands for Korean Fried Chicken in my book!

This place has really crispy and flavorful chicken. I also love the sweet and spicy sauce. However, their wings have shrunk to 1⁄3 of the original size. I realize that they’re probably trying to save money, but going from getting large wings to dinky wings is a bummer. I wish they just raised the prices a bit and brought back the jumbo wings they had a few months back.

Good prices. Good food. Good service. I normally am not a fan of Korean fried chicken(although… Korean food is one of my favorite), but I don’t really have anything bad to say about this place. Only thing I can really say is I don’t like that they close mid-day and re-open at 5:30. Came here with my cousins and the kids we ordered a large to share w/sides of rice. Our server was really nice… Didn’t catch his name. When he brought out our chicken he put the sauces out for us on the side so we can try them all. All in which were pretty good(better than their competitors: BonChon, 99 Chicken, etc.). I could say my favorite was the spicy, which I was surprised by because normally I would go for the soy garlic or honey. The chicken was cooked perfectly! Super crispy skin and juicy! I definitely recommend and will come back when in the area.

The chicken is good enough. Not too much better or worse than most Korean fried chicken places I have been. They have a salad bar which is included for different amounts depending on thr size order you get. For the small/medium combo(drum sticks & wings) thr salad bar is included for 1 person, the large includes 2 and the jumbo includes 3. There are a few sauces you can choose for your chicken, but the go-to’s seem to be the sweet/spicy and the soy garlic. The downside is they are pretty understaffed and there doesn’t seem to be a good system put in place to attend to customers. The price points are good though, so it’s still a decent place to get a meal.

Overpriced for some tiny party wings from Costco they over fry. Drumsticks and tiny little wings — and a 15 minute wait when we are the only people in the place? A bowl of rice for $ 2.00? small tray of potato wedges for $ 4.00? Something seems off with the prices — They don’t match at all what I see online. I’ll just go to Popeyes or KFC.

Just ok in my eyes. We came in and were greeted by two gentleman. Asked if we’d like to eat in or take out. We decided to eat there. Luckily at 5:30pm there were only two tables of the six occupied. By the time we got our food though all the tables were taken. The customer service, was friendly but only after i had asked the initial questions. As other confused Unilocalers mentioned in their reviews the salad bar is kinda weird… is it free? it’s on the menu for $ 4 do we have to pay if we get a comb??? As it was our first time i had no idea what the deal was regarding the salad bar… So if i heard the gentleman correctly a plate dinner order allows you one plate of salad at the bar… self serve. If you order a medium or large chicken order you are allowed two plates of the salad bar… a small or appetizers do not allow you access to the salad bar and that would be the $ 4 charge on their men. I hope that helps. We had to get our own silverware and you pay at the front. Not really fine dining. Just no frills delish piping hot friend chicken. I would highly recommend the spicy sauce but be warned it is spicy…

I’ve seen reviews raving about their chicken being better than Bön Chon in Sunnyvale. Too bad this place is far from it. Doordashed this a couple weeks back and was disappointed. Chicken was undercooked and my side of rice was so old that it turned grey. What is wrong with you people. I’m glad I didn’t get sick.

Hm, closer to 3.5 stars. I’ve been here a few times, it’s always quick, decent service! Nothing outstanding but I haven’t had any bad experiences. The chicken has definitely down sized since I first came here. I enjoy ordering the sauce on the chicken as opposed to on the side, but I guess it wouldn’t make much of a difference because once you get past the skin, you’ll probably want to dip the meat from the inside into the extra sauce anyway. Great local place to fulfill your Korean fried chicken cravings!

Coo coo for coco chicken?! The Korean fried chicken, maybe. The service, no thanks. Allow me to explain what went down. It was my first time so I wanted to see the menu first. I came with Matthew D., who had been there before and raved about the amazing kfc. When he was there last time, the menu was taped on the windows so we could look at it from the outside. When we got there, no menu was taped. Okay so we decided to just go inside. There was a menu taped on the counter so we decided to take a quick peek. A girl with short blonde hair approached us from behind the counter.(The counter is connected to the open kitchen). With a stern look on her face, she said«for here or to go?» We said oh no it’s okay we just want to look at the menu for now. She did not say anything. No offering to explain the menu. No welcoming tone. And forget about even a smile on her face. At this point, I’m thinking to myself«geez, do they torture their employees here or something? What can they possibly do to her for her to treat first-time customers this way?» Five minutes later, we decided to order the medium combo with wings and legs. I’m glad my friend had been there before because this chick did not explain that you can get the sauces on the side or drizzled on the chicken. Nor did she tell us how many sauces we can get. We decided to get all the sauces. On the side. Now, either they changed the policy or this chick was a real noob because my friend said that the salad bar was complimentary to the meal, meaning we could get as much sides we wanted. Free of charge. But the girl said there is a charge of $ 4 for the salad bar. So we opted out. There was definitely some miscommunication because when I asked one of the male employees, he told me we’d get one salad bar that came with the medium combo. Uhh. So the chick didn’t even mention that at least ONE person would get to eat the salad bar for free. What the hell?! After that, I got a plate of salad as a side. And the chick comes to our table to explain that only one person can eat things from the salad bar and that we’d be charged extra for sharing. At this point, I didn’t even expect her to apologize for not mentioning that in the first place. Anyway, food was just alright. How hard can it be to mess up fried chicken. Someone needs to train that chick the correct way of providing customer service. Or if she truly hates it, then I suggest she goes into a different career. Not coming back. For a while. Not after the service I received.

When it comes to service, I like it here. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk chat with. They try to accommodate you even when they are busy. Busy meaning they only offer a hand full of tables and not for big groups like my family. It’s good when it’s just 2 – 4 people only. They do offer texting when your table is ready. I have been going here for awhile now and saw that I didn’t get to review it here yet. You have to come here for their soy garlic chicken! I love the sauce it comes with and it’s one of a few good places in this area that I like their Korean chicken. The others are all ok to me. Their Soy garlic is not too sweet either and the chicken is deep fried perfectly. They do offer plain soju and beers. No fruitful soju cocktails but that’s alright. I like it anyway. They do have a simple side bar for veggies and fruit. I wish they had more to offer. So when it comes to wanting to drink and have chicken wings, I would go here instead. :-)

I’m no korean fried chicken expert, just putting that out there. However there were a couple things that ended up dropping stars. I also went at the start of peak time. Got a medium sweet spicy set of drumsticks and wings and two bowls of rice. Split between me and my friend. Pros: — lots of parking — seated quickly — paying the check was fast — drumsticks were big — pieces were mostly well cooked — sweet spicy sauce was good — cute waitress — portions match price Cons: — wait for food was pretty long, 40 minutes. It seemed there were two tables waiting for food ahead of us but it still felt pretty long. Also there were 3 workers today. Not sure about the service norm. — some of the smaller pieces were dry from overcooking. — Not sure how often the oil is changed but the chicken seemed to have an odor like old frying oil. Not a deal breaker but noticeable despite pleasantly smelling the sauce. — Rice could have been better, drier than appreciated. — Salad bar didn’t seem too impressive for price — Might want to be $$ instead of $. Medium and two bowls of rice came out to ~$ 17. Skipped the salad bar also for price reasons. Comments: Before coming I was wondering if side dishes are served, they are not. Only mention this because I’ve been to a korean fried chicken place that did. Overall I would come again but probably only with friends. Total time waiting was far too long and the food was not good enough to make up for it. 3 stars because wait time for food was 40 minutes and the food could have been better. Compared to competitors, it falls behind.

Ate here from a friend’s recommendation. Some reviewers say that this place is on par with bonchon, 99 chicken, and *gasps* even san tung??? so why the heck not try this place? The place is definitely small and the décor is lacking. There’s a big vent for where the fryer is & since the place is small don’t be alarmed if it gets a little warm and you smell the slight odor of frying oil in the air. As for the chicken– it’s BIG. Size is the same as 99 chicken. Crisp level is 2⁄5. Wished it was crispier. Batter is 3⁄5. It’s not all bland per se, but not as flavorful compared to the KFC if you get where I’m drifting. The sauce: We opted for sauce on the side but jeez I’m sad to say that the sauces are all flavorless to me! The soy garlic, honey mustard, and sweet & hot sauces was not impressive, it all tasted diluted. I wanted to cry inside because we ordered the jumbo chicken for 2 people and it felt like a waste. Well at least the honey mustard helped a bit since it was the tangiest of the 3. There’s a lot more options at the salad bar here. But the quality of it is lower compared to other korean fried chicken places. For chicken rated ONLY in Fremont, yes this place would deserve more than 3 stars. But when rivalling against other Asian chicken places that’s about 15 min drive away or just in the bayarea, this is not the best. added +1 for the nice service we had here. Btw THISPLACEISNOWHERENEARSAN TUNGs LEVEL! Just had to say it.

This is my second time at this restaurant, the place is fairly small, could sit about 20 people. Fortunately they have seats outside if you have a large party. We got seated quickly, our waitress was very polite, gave us water quickly and refilled our water without us even asking during our meal. It was very helpful of her that she told us the size of the wings because we were going to order the 12 wing size but deferred because she told us the wings were fairly small. Since the wings were small we went for the 5 drumstick 4 wing order that was billed at 11.95. We split our order into two so we can have two sauces lathered on our chicken; we got the hot and sweet and the garlic soy. As we waited, there was a complimentary salad bar filled with fresh veggies as well as radishes and picked lettuce. When the chicken came out the drumsticks were jumbo sized and the wings were tiny as the waitress said. It’s unfortunate that you cannot get just drumsticks but it’s not that big of a deal. The chicken was absolutely delicious!!! the garlic soy was well packed with garlic flavor but wasn’t too overwhelming. The sweet and hot was a bit spicy but was sweet and tangy enough. The chicken was crispy and only got better with every bite. We also got sides of Japanese white rice going at a dollar a bowl and an order of potato wedges going at 1.50. The rice was soft and sweet as the potato wedges were crispy and well seasoned. For all that we ordered which was the 5 drumstick 4 wing order of chicken, 2 sides of rice and an order of potato wedges, it came out to be 21 dollars, very cheap for all of that. This place is highly underrated and serves one of the better fried chicken in the east bay, so if you’re in the area try it out, you will not be disappointed!

Great first experience here. The place is pretty small so I wouldn’t recommend for a large group. In that case, just order pick up. They have a complimentary salad bar which looked really appetizing. I only had the pickled radish and cabbage which were really tasty. The salad bar was really clean as well, a plus. To the side they had paper plates, napkins, ketchup and utensils. My boyfriend and I ended up sharing the medium drumstick and wings which is 5 drumsticks and 4 wings. We chose the hot and sweet and soy garlic sauce on the chicken. We also ordered the seasoned potatoes wedges and two bowls of rice. The total ended up being about $ 21. Very affordable. The potato wedges came out a few minutes after we ordered and they were yummy. It was very crispy and the inside wasn’t mushy or dry. I find this usually happens with potato wedges. Our chicken and rice came out next. The chicken was soooooooo good. The chicken was nice and juicy, not dry at all. Both sauces were really flavorful as well. The soy garlic is pretty garlicy so be cautious of that. The rice was super good too. The food was amazing and delicious all around. The only downside was how tiny the wings were. I was a bit disappointed and wouldn’t recommend only ordering the wings. Service was great as well. The server checked up on us and refilled our waters. Didn’t even have to ask for it. Always a great thing. Definitely recommend this place and will be back!

I’m in love with the coco… chicken~ Score, another cheap eats! Came with a party of 8 and they accommodated us well. Felt the place was more like a fast food joint than a sit down restaurant, but the chicken actually took a while to make. meaning they put a lot of love in it. Ordered some good old chicken and had all four sauces on the side. Here are my thoughts! Korean Fried Chicken: FULLSIZEDDRUMSTICKSANDWINGS! That was a shock, especially with the price. Chicken was fresh and hot. Some of the pieces lacked meat though like if someone had taken bites out of them, but otherwise the skin was crispy and the meat inside was tender. Sauces: — Sweet & Hot: Pretty sweet and not really hot, but it paired perfectly with the fried chicken. My favorite! — Hot: Definitely had more of a kick. I would compare this with Tapatio rather than Sriracha. — Soy Garlic: Needs more garlic to taste its distinction cause otherwise its similar to sweet & hot. — Honey Mustard: Provides a nice acidity that the other sauces don’t have. I liked it cause it was tangy, but not too sweet. Overall, I would definitely come back! Good customer service and they have a nice self-serve salad bar on the side. It is a similar concept to Bonchon and 99 Chicken, so if that floats your boat, then you better jump on and try it out.

This review is based on my «to-go» experience. We came here 30 minutes before they closed so we couldn’t dine in. Their service was ok, the girl at the counter didn’t look too happy to be working there. We ordered the soy garlic chicken with the sauce on the side because we don’t like our chicken«saucy». We also ordered rice and French fries but when we got our order I guess the lady didn’t hear us right and thought we wanted rice, not fries. Good thing we checked our order so we could have them correct it. Anyways, the amount of fries they gave us was so little that it was a waste of money. As for the chicken, it was just OK. It was kind of hard and not as juicy as I thought it was going to be. I’d rather go to bon chon or wingstop. However, we’ll try again and dine in so we can experience the salad bar. I might just get short ribs or something, but definitely not the chicken.

I love 99 Chicken, so when I found out that there was a similar place right next to my local comic store, I needed to try this place out. It’s very similar to 99 chicken. You order chicken legs/wings and they have a few different sauces to try them with. Plus there is a salad bar, which doesn’t include complimentary steamed rice like 99 chicken. Not sure why. The chicken is tasty and not overpriced. Service is somewhat slow as I guess they fry the chicken after you order it so fresh chicken for a steady wait. Still, it’s a worthy trade off. Not much more to say about this place besides I give it a thumbs up!
