I’ll make this quick. Sushi was good, but compared to other places, the portions were a bit smaller. Prices are a bit high for the sizes you get. Service was good for my wife and I. Also, a WARNING… my father went in one afternoon with a party of 4. Without looking over the bill closely, he later noticed he was charged an automatic gratuity of 18%. Unbelievable!

I always get the lion king roll everywhere I go but at this certain location I felt as if my roll was gone in 3 bites, they should make it a bit bigger. Tasty but not worth the price.

I’ve only been here once so I’m hoping my fiancé and I caught them on a bad day. The stars are for the very polite server. Zero stars unfortunately for the sushi. The fish was so chewy I had to spit it into my napkin. They also put this unpleasant lemon mustard sauce on two rolls when it didn’t say it would come with mustard sauce. The rolls would have been much better without it. Also, the spicy salmon roll was so salty(without soy sauce) that it was inedible. I’m not writing this to bash the place, I just hope they improve in these areas to become the cute sushi place this restaurant is capable of becoming.

The quality has gone down since my last visit in 2008. Came here for lunch this past weekend while we were in the Bay Area. I had the salmon teri bento box while Jeff ordered two rolls. It was okay. I wasn’t blown away but it was nice that this place opened early. It was really dim inside. Service was spotty.

Best sirachi I had so far. Fresh sashimi, high quality fish. The sushi are also high quality, similar style that you would get at other sushi houses. The service is great, very welcoming for families. I will be back!

So we wanted sushi and decided to try this place. We got it through door dash as it’s Sunday night and we’re tired from our day. I answered the door with excitement. Ready to chow down on some delicious rolls. That excitement fell away with the first bite. Not only was the sushi on par with airplane food(not normal airplane food. I mean the food from the movie, «Airplane!» that poisoned people.), it was full of bones. For every Philly roll I put into my mouth, a bone was removed. I’m so glad my girlfriend and I noticed these as this situation could have quickly grown much more dire. I called the place to let them know they may have a problem. If every piece of salmon I ate had tiny bones in it, I can’t be the only one. Anyway, I asked for a manager. The guy on the phone said he was a manager and then he wanted me to drive over there and show him fish bones. That’s just ridiculous. Aside from the Bony Roll, the next thing was the soft shell crab in another, higher end roll we ordered. It was too hard to chew(was also removed from mouth), and left a grainy texture behind. Needless to say, I will not be eating from here again. This was beyond bad. The B52 roll should have been a B29.

I’m a regular here now and the sushi quality is top notch. Some of my favorites are Hawaiian poke appetizer and the 10 piece nigiri combo. They also have really delicious individual sushi and rolls. I recommend sitting at the bar. Also they have a decent sake selection. It’s a family business and they are good people and I get good service sitting at the bar. And the sushi really is A+ which is what matters the most.

I come here every Saturday night and enjoy a delicious sushi and bento box dinner. People posting 1 star?! Lol you are for sure trippin. I eat at a variety of sushi restaurants and this one is definitely a gem. My favorite bento box is the beef teriyaki and saba shioaki. Delicious! The waitresses are really nice as well! I am definitely a loyal customer.

This is probably the worst experience ever. My mom comes here often and I decided you know what I’m going to treat her to a meal for lunch. I go to school so I don’t have a lot to spend so in the beginning everything was ok. Didn’t have much action from our waitress, the avocado were brown. We were done with our meals, I paid cash. Then we left. Once we got to the car, the manager comes out. Asking was something wrong that we didn’t tip. I said yes. From what I’ve learned as a waitress, tips are earnings for good customer service. And ma’m your coming outside to ask me why I didn’t tip. Yeah good job semi sushi never will I. Ever come back. I normally tip but this particular day. I didn’t have enough.

The old lady that greets you at the door is the worst thing that happened to this place. I used to love coming here and celebrating with my friends, family, and co-workers. Several times, this crazy lady has been rude, disrespectful, and outright psycho. I remember a year or so ago when my daughter was a couple of months old, my husband and I decided to go here just to get out of the house with the kids. When we got to Semo Sushi, we said two adults and three kids and she rolled her eyes. I was like, did she really just do that or is it in my head. I didn’t say anything to my husband and decided to wait to be seated. I mentioned that I want my older kids to see the sushi chef and if we can get a seat closer to the bar, but she said no and made us sit in the most far away corner of the restaurant. I was beginning to see her discomfort and I said to my husband, «This woman is acting like she has never had kids in the restaurant before.» My sweet boys didn’t get out of our their seat, misbehave, or do anything wrong. They were excited that I was going to make them training chopsticks, but this old, grumpy, rude woman took that joy from us. Since I used to love this place, recently I tried to just order out and not deal with this lady and just pick up the sushi. I placed a lengthy order over the phone, totaling over $ 100, and got of the phone. I then realized that maybe she took one bento box twice so I called her back and had her read the order again, literally not even 30 seconds later. She started yelling that she already placed the order and I can’t change anything. I said I am not calling to change anything, I just want to know what I ordered. When she read over it, I realized she had taken one bento box order twice, so I kindly asked her to remove one as I only wanted 1 bento box and like 6 other rolls. OHHHHMYYYYGODDDD, this lady went psycho the minute I said that! She said, «who do you think I am? I work for a dollar here! Don’t call and cancel something, it’s too late!(Yelling this whole time). She then said(The biggest****SHOCKER**** from an old Asian lady)…she said, «F^&% You!» and hung up on me! What a low class, rude, disrespectful person! I was so upset, I didn’t want to go pick up the food. My friend whom were coming over ended up picking up and I have never gone back ever since. I just want any sushi lover out there to know that not only is this place not a delicious sushi restaurant, but it has horrible service. I would not give my business to Semo Sushi ever again and I have told all of my friends to stop going here.

Really bad food poisoning! So bad that it made me sign up for a Unilocal account and write this review to warn others. Me and my 4 other friends came in around 7pm on a Saturday night. It was suspicious that this place was EMPTY.(Considering we left another sushi place because of the wait). The quality of the rolls were mediocre, a little on the small side considering its price.(Approximately $ 12 – 14 per special roll) Food Poisoning after 24hrs. All of our friends shared the same symptoms. Constant vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days. I was not able to sleep for 2 days and lost 5lbs. Would not recommend this place! Especially for rolls that contain raw fish!

I was very disappointed. The service was super slow and the food quality was bad. There’s was absolutely nothing special about these rolls. I ordered a regular roll(crazy horse roll) and was very surprised when it came out. The waitress first took it to the table behind me and only came to our table when the other people said they didn’t order it. Before she even put the plate onto the table, she told me that it normally comes with tobiko but none was placed on it. She then asked me if I wanted the tobiko to be placed on it. Uhmm. Yes!!! Why would you deliver the sushi without all the ingredients that were listed on the menu? You are just cheating me of an additional seafood ingredient that should have been included in the first place. Another waitress brought it to the wrong table again after the chef finished putting the tobiko on. For a normal roll that cost $ 12.95, the sushi roll was small and there were only 5 pieces. Wtf!!! Shouldn’t the normal roll be 7 – 8 pieces? Absolutely over-priced for what you get and nothing special about the rolls. And they were going to give it to me without one the main ingredients. Who does that??? Took over an hour to have dinner when they weren’t even busy. It shouldn’t take this long to have a sushi dinner, especially if we just order rolls. Would not come back ever. There are much better sushi places that taste good and you get what you pay for.

Me and my girlfriend came here on a recommendation from a friend. After an extremely long wait on a slow night we were finally served out food. For the price I expected a decent amount of food, however we were sadly disappointed. Her shrimp tempura roll was ice cold and contained 5 small rolls, mine as well. All I can say is that the people were at least friendly. Won’t be coming back here again

I’ve only been here one other time and that was a few years ago with my then-boyfriend at the time. I came here this past weekend with my husband and a friend to catch up on stuff. This place is nice for it supposedly being a sports bar also. Families come here a lot, I can tell. It wasn’t even packed with people, but for some reason, the service was INCREDIBLYSLOW. We ordered our food and it took like 30 minutes to bring it out. At most, it would be like 10 minutes for 3 rolls and a bowl of ramen. But it took 30 minutes! And the waitress kept missing our table(we were in a corner booth) so I couldn’t even get a refill on my drink when I needed it. Before we left, I wanted one more roll because the first roll didn’t fill me(but it was good! Philly Gut Truck roll, I think it was called) so I ordered a Philadelphia roll. TOOKANOTHER20 – 30MINUTESFORMETOGETIT. What the hell? Seriously, there were barely any people in there. I don’t think I’d want to come back just because the service was so bad. Granted, the sushi was good, but it wasn’t worth waiting a long time to get.

I got takeout here for my birthday and the chef made a point to ask me my favorite fish. When I got home, he had given me an extra piece of my favorite nigiri and put gold flakes on them! Even the takeout presentation was beautiful and everything tastes fresh and delicious.

A good sushi place. Very simple. Quite spacious. Plenty of tables. Expect a long wait during peak hours. Plenty of options to choose from… like a lot. I guess they keep on adding something new and different to their menu. Our last visit, we tried sake maki, SSS(salmon, scallops, shrimp) roll, lion king, and dancing lobster roll. The lion king is a missed this time. They put some kind of American cheese on top of the roll as they baked it. That’s the first. It kinda taste different. Ambience here is great. Don’t expect a spectacular service but they will make sure you will be greeted with a smile, even they are tired. Price wise, it’s not that cheap but you will pay more than the usual sushi place you usually go to. Visa and MasterCard only. They do accept cash. I will come back here given a chance, especially if some sushi place in the area is closed just like that Monday visit.

When we got the check they charge us half of the price of the sashimi and half of the roll!!! I couldn’t believe!!! And the owner said: «I can’t not charge for the rolls. I’m losing money»!!! Now we are definitely not coming back. I suggest you do the same.

My wife and i came here for the first time recently and was surprised, since it seems smaller from the outside. Got seated really quickly and the restaurant was quite full. My wife ordered the Shrimp Tempura, which was cooked properly and had 4 shrimp and 2 of each vegetable. I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki and Chicken Teriyaki combo. Both the chicken and salmon were good. We shared a Sunrise Roll, which was very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was really slow. I’m not sure if they were understaffed the night we went, but the waitresses didn’t appear to be in any hurry. They were friendly, but we just never saw much of anyone. I event went to grab my own to-go box, since it was easier and I wasn’t willing to wait any longer after asking for one. it’s too bad, since the food was good and I’d be willing to go back again.
