Glad this place closed. Terrible service weeks ago. 1 hour wait for one roll and it wasn’t even the right one? Haha…

Been coming here for years and are fierce locals. A great family owned place, amazing sushi and always welcoming. Yes, they takes a while and they aren’t the fastest but meh. There’s more to life than fast food and needing to be instantly gratified. We always wait ~30 minutes and we survive. We are so sad to see them go as they sold the business and today is their last ever day. However we are so happy that they are following their dreams to travel and spend time with family. The place is getting renovated with new owners and we hope they are just as good! We’ll really miss Sushi Island — Hollis, Harold and the whole family who runs it.

Went with friends since we wanted to get some food before heading out to celebrate another friends birthday decided to come here. Despite being told the food was going to take awhile. An hour wait is too long. Two of our friends order the all you can eat sushi. Took about 15 – 20 and their tempura was an additional five. My other friend order a bento box that took 30 – 40 minutes and I had ordered tempura soba which also took 30 – 40 minutes. Place was understaffed. The waitress kept talking to their friends and ignoring their customers causing more wait time to gain their attention. Definitely won’t be coming here when we’re in the neighborhood.

NOBODY come to this place! The all you can eat is straight up false advertisement. They let each person order one roll at a time and after 45MINUTES they bring out 4 pieces of sushi for each person. Total scam and way to take your money because they make you wait a ridiculous amount of time in between the small, dinky bites they bring. Absolutely ruined our night and wasted a lot of our time. Please don’t waste yours!

Very average … The chicken teriyaki was hardly cooked and the crunchy roll was not even what it was supposed be. Will not go here again.

My aunt brought me here. I love the bento boxes! The price especially for lunch is amazing! Sometimes you have to wait awhile, but it’s definitely worth the wait! The avocado bomb is good and the rest of the sushi is great! Their raw fish is fresh! My friends sometimes do the all you can eat and it’s totally worth it! Great prices for great food compared to many Japanese restaurants in our area!

I was very happy with the friendly service and atmosphere. After reading reviews, I was prepared for a longer wait to get the food, but understood why once I was there. All the rolls were prepared for order and there were two chefs working on it. I ordered the $ 20 all u can eat rolls. There is a special list that u can choose from. These are 8 piece rolls so a lot of rice that would fill u up fast. I’d prefer a 4 roll just for sake of tasting and having diversity. The rolls were tasty, but again, got full w a couple of rolls because of rice and didn’t get to taste too many. I felt bad not finishing before ordering more. But next time I’ll order more variety and get a doggy bag. And I’ll double check which rolls I get since I couldn’t understand the waiter naming them so I can know which one I like and what to order in the future.

We walked out after waiting an hour for food. We watched the many tables come in after us and get their appetizers and rolls while we sat and sat«it’s going soon». There was 1 other table when we got there, no need for the wait

The all you can eat sushi is decent, me and my guy order about 5 different types of sushi and got super full. We got there around 5:30 pm there was pretty much no one there, although they didn’t bother to turn the lights on in the restaurant until later when it got a bit busy, the middle age lady was pretty nice to us, so over all the customer service is pretty good. Taste: I wouldn’t say is the best, but for the price and especially since is all you can eat is pretty good. 4 star for this. Note* there are a few all you can eat restaurants in this plaza so you have a lot of varieties. I was debating between the all you can eat bbq and this sushi place, but we pick this one since we were feeling less desire of greasy food. Recommend: the monkey roll, spicy roll! Philadelphia roll~~oh also you can never go wrong with the rainbow roll.

The ambiance is very chill/casual The interior is nice, a little dark. The staff is really nice; speaks little English. The wait for food is super long! Got here at 7:30 and didn’t get my food until 20 minutes later(my friends waited longer than I did). They are very slow at making rolls/sushi. My friends sushi roll had bones all over the place, my Alaska roll was okay, not the best quality of fish. My Unagi Donburi was good, lots of fish but I wish they had more veggies in it. My friend ordered vegetarian and it did not look appetizing at all. It looked so skimpy. The sushi is not the prettiest. We ordered uni(sea urchin) and it was brown. I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to look like a mustard yellow. though my friend claimed it was good. Good thing about this place is that they split checks to how many is in your party.(No limit) Overall, I, personally, would not come back to this place.

Everything was so delicious. The service was great. Sake bombs. The owner/sushi chef treated us with respect and was very personal in making our experience wonderful.

Good food, good price but poor service. Came here on a busy night, took over 15 min to serve us water & get our order. Later, the waiter forgot to put our food order in! Ughhh. he got an earful of my frustration. Good thing the food was good. I have been coming here a few more times since then for the food. I usually get the Bento Box 3 item(Cali roll, beef or salmon teriyaki & tempura), it also comes with rice, miso soup & salad. The tempera comes with 2 shrimps & a lot of other vegs– large serving all for $ 12.95! **Update: My BF found hair on salad! Baaaarff!

You definitely need to allow for time when coming here. We came on a Friday night about 6:45pm and didn’t get out until 9pm. I got the impression this is a family operated restaurant because there was one woman pretty much taking care of all the tables. Needless to say, we waited about 15 minutes for a beer and sake. Food was okay. Typical rolls. Nothing that left me with a great impression. For $ 25 bucks it is AYCE selected rolls, a couple appetizer choices, and bottomless sake. If you like to drink, it is worth it because anywhere else a few large house hot sakes will get you to the $ 25 alone. I wouldn’t rush back here, but for the deal they offer, I wouldn’t mind coming back someday if I wasn’t driving.

The only place I know that has all you can eat sushi and all you can drink sake for ONLY $ 25! Although their AYCE menu does not have a wide selection it is definitely enough to taste some of their good sushi rolls. They don’t have nigiris on the all you can eat menu, which is a bummer. I honestly don’t mind since I like rolls more, depending on my mood. If you don’t get all you can eat, they have a huge selection on their regular menu. I really recommend the spicy tuna poke salad. I wish the portion was bigger though. They do have sashimi and nigiri on this menu. Not pricey either. The service was decent. The waitress constantly check up on us. However, I found the making of the food to be really slow. There was only two tables, including us, when we went late night but the sushi orders took about 20 – 25 minutes to come out. We were definitely starving): Great décor though. Overall, I would come here occasionally for the AYCD(all you can drink) and AYCE(all you can eat). But probably not for only the food alone.

PLACE — Open seating while maintaining a lovely asian décor. FOOD — Nothing special. The bento box was adequate. SERVICE — Unattentive, though they did let us stay a bit after closing. PRICE — Nothing great. Not a deal, not breaking the bank. GOBACK? — Probably will try out other venues before coming back.

I’ve been here twice now and I enjoy it every time so far. The food is always super fresh and delicious, the people that work are incredibly friendly and professional and it’s just an all around feel-good, go-to place for sushi. I’m not sure if they have any specials or happy hours but I’m sure they offer some kind of specials. The prices are incredibly reasonable too. I really enjoy this place, the food and the atmosphere!

DONOTCOMEHERE! HORRIBLESERVICEANDSHADYCHINESEPEOPLE. First of all, before the waiters talk to the owner in Chinese about their customers, they should make sure we don’t understand them… Secondly, the service is so slow. We went in and there were only four tables in a restaurant that probably has over 20. It took them 25 minutes to bring us one roll of sushi and there were two chefs preparing them. If your restaurant can’t manage 5 tables with two chefs, why bother having twenty?!? We ordered 6 rolls and they forgot our gyoza and said we never ordered them. I showed them how it had our order on our bill and they said ‘oh.‘ The one thing that made me mad was their SHADY practices. We had only two people and they charged a 15% service fee which was stated for a party of 6 or more and then after I asked them about it the waiter then proceeded to ask the owner what she should tell us and I understood every bit of their conversation and the lies they were making up to tell us. They told us that they charge a service fee to every table and I told them ‘the table next to us didn’t get a service charge, why?’ And then she proceeds to tell the owner that I glanced at other peoples receipts and then they said they would void the charge. I was going to give you some tips even for the slow service, but after pulling some shady business, they don’t deserve any.

3.5STARS Sushi roll LOVERS should dine here because their ACYE is actually good! Though the selections are limited to about 20 different rolls(no sashimi selections — boo hoo), it was still enough to keep me satisfied and extremely full. First and foremost, the rolls are made fresh to order. The presentation of the rolls are neatly lined up and ready for chopstick delivery to your mouth. They make their rolls with just enough ingredients and most importantly, they do NOT goop on loads and loads of sauce on top. That’s how I like it, less sauce, more flavors to the actual sushi ingredients equals hmmm hmmm good. Though you can order as many times as you would like, my recommendation is to pick ALLLLL the items you want to eat in one big SWOOP! Because the wait for round2, round3, round4 or even round5 will take longer to make for each round. We were here for over 2 hours eating freshly made sushi rolls, which is too long for me to dine at. We also ordered edamame and gyoza’s, both tasted basic but added a slight variety to eating sushi rolls. Décor was a cheesey colorful room that looked typical to a Hong Kong style restaurant. It’s Chinese owned, I know because I understand the dialect. But overall, the service is extremely friendly, it was clean, the food was pretty good, and my only complaint is the slow service to round2, round3, round4, and round5. Round1 was super awesome and it came out quickly but that was what sold me to this place.
