Empty for a reason. Came in at 530 and was the only person for a good hour. That should have gave it away, but I was starving and thought meh, how bad could it be for a bento box if anything. First off, the décor is horrible — a gaudy sense of coastal and harbor decorations with weird vacation type music made me feel very confused. Service was good, I had an older lady who was very nice and constantly checking on me. And then there is the food here… sigh. I had a Philly roll to be safe bc if I’m eating raw fish at a new sushi place(with meh ratings) — I figured I might be safe with salmon rather than tuna. I was wrong. The salmon had no flavor, def. was bad quality — literally just ate cream cheese with seaweed and rice. I also ordered a beef dinner set. Salad and miso soup was fine, the tempura was actually pretty good — but it went downhill from there. The teriyaki sauce was so thick and slimy, I had to scrape most of it off. But then when I ate the beef, I saw why they needed that sauce. Pretty much to coat its tiny cut, over cooked, super chewy pieces. Gave my teeth and jaws a good workout though. To top it off, that horrible bento dinner was prob. one of the most expensive I’ve had in a while(even compared to actual good sushi restaurants) it was 18 – 20 bucks. When I examined the rest of the menu I did realize it was pretty pricey, which is not a big deal if the food was worthy of it. Duly noted, it’s not.

There is something about this place that keeps me coming back! I always order the salmon over rice dish, which is so simply but tastes amazing. This restaurant is the comfort food of sushi restaurants.

I really like the nautical theme and think this could be a great success… if only the service and food were better. I came here recently for lunch, just a few minutes before noon. I was their first customer of the day as it seemed. Nevertheless I stood at the entrance for at least 5 minutes, before somebody talked to me. When they finally seated me, the waitress was friendly, however the older man(owner?) was very rude when he served the sushi. He basically banged the plate on my table and didn’t even look at me. The quality of the food was less than mediocre. The rice tasted like cardboard, the pieces of the roll were falling apart and the fish was not particularly fresh. Still I paid more than $ 20 for a pretty small portion. Definitely not a place I will return to.

Beef udon– my daughter likes it cause it’s not salty. A lil blend compare to other sushi restaurant. Beef is stripped, so it’s easy to eat. Flat screen tv next to the restroom. Nice decorations around the place. Looks clean.

3.5 stars. I was shopping at Ulta and saw this place right next to it so thought to give it a try. I was a little wary going in with the reviews but I love sushi so what the heck. I got edamame, salmon nigiri, and the Lion King roll. The hostess recommend the roll saying it was her favorite. I usually like raw salmon over baked but I gave it a chance. I’m so happy that I did! It tasted great! Only thing that I didn’t like was how easily it well apart but the flavor made up for it. Also the salmon nigiri was delicious. The salmon tasted very fresh and I wish I had gotten the sashimi since there were only two pieces of nigiri. Also, plenty of edamame which is always great! The meal came complimentary with miso soup and salad. The soup was a bit more salty than I’m used to. The service was great. There weren’t many people there so the waitress was very attentive and kept asking if everything was good. Will definitely come back!

This is an okay Sushi restaurant located in the Fremont Hub. If you’re a member of AAA, you can show your card and get 10% off your entire bill. The food here is average priced. The lunch specials don’t seem super cheap($ 10+) but it’s daily. I got the sukiyaki dish. It was a pretty hearty dish that came with a small small bowl of rice. Given the amount of sukiyaki, I kind of wish they gave more rice. The dish itself was good flavor though. The udon broth was a bit bland. Most places I find make really bland broths, which is unfortunate. The ikura(salmon roe) was plentiful. The atmosphere inside feels kind of somber, despite the guitar-ish music playing. It feels a bit gloomy. Maybe the color schemes are off?

Slow service. And HAIR in my food! Yup! You read that right… HAIR on my Hamachi Kama! Plus, for the less than mediocre food, this place is a rip off!!! Shut this place down!

This place has good prices and a few decent rolls. But I would not recommend their bento box. 10 bucks sounded pretty good for what I was getting but here’s the reality at least for a beef teriyaki bento: Menu: beef teriyaki served with mixed tempura and a California roll. Reality: the beef was so gross. It was really thin and dry and tasted kinda old. The gloppy teriyaki sauce somehow made it worse. It looked like a piece of thick roast beef lunch meat, a portion size I might feed a child. Wilty salad, dressing was good at least About 4 piece tempura with 1 shrimp. 1st sauce bowl was really dirty with rice bits. 2nd sauce bowl came w cold sauce(not a huge deal but worth mentioning) Rice 3 pieces California roll with lots of mayo. The beef was the worst and the whole thing made me think of some pre made fake bento you might get at a work cafeteria.

The sushi was OK. We tried the volcano roll, the crunch roll and the spider roll. The volcano was supposed to be hot or even warmish but it was lukewarm. The service was pretty bad. It’s obvious waitress just hates her life.

Portions are extremely small for the price I think. The salmon was less than 2 ounces. Bento box did not come with standard soup like many other places. The ginger was soggy. The presentation of the rolls are terrible. I will not be visiting again.

We have been coming for years which would make us regulars or at least frequent flyers, wouldn’t you say? I have always ordered the same thing over the years. However, today, I happened to make a mistake and ordered the wrong thing. It was obvious I was surprised at what was brought over to my table by the puzzled look on my face. I had to ask the guy what it was because it was something I had never seen before. When I pointed out to the waitress that I accidentally ordered the wrong thing, the lady said, «He already made this so now you have to eat it.» I had intended to place the right order, but her rude comment made me want to flip the script. Deep Breath. Instead, I asked for a to go box which I did not even bother using. 1) I understand that I made the mistake of ordering the wrong thing so I called the waitress over to order the right thing, 2) The waitress basically told me, well too bad, you ordered this, now you eat this. SHEDIDNOTEVENOFFERORASKIF I WANTEDTOORDERSOMETHINGELSE!!! I DONOTANDWOULDNEVEREVERRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOANYBODY. Not only do they not care about customer satisfaction, but their ingredients are not fresh either. GOTOANIKI’S SUSHIINSTEAD!!!

Mmm… Expected much more from this place after seeing photos and reading some reviews. Came here on a Saturday during Happy Hour time… Ordered a Salmon Sashimi and a Hawaii Poke. Let’s just say, when the food came out, it did not look appetizing … In other words, it was obvious that the fish was not fresh.(It looked like the fish had been laying out for awhile). And to no surprise, it did not taste fresh at all. It tasted how it looked. Which was not pleasant at all… My first and last time at this joint.

It was«just ok». I ordered a spicy tuna roll and a special roll made of spicy tuna, crab and avocado. It didn’t necessarily taste«spoiled» but it also didn’t have that FRESH quality to it. Also, I think the crab was more like shredded crab salad? I’m not sure… but it just looked weird. Also, I went here on a GORGEOUS sunny Saturday and inside it was just dark and old like I was in some underground tavern or something. It was kinda spooky. Open the frickin blinds why don’t ya? Whatever. I WOULD go here again… but only if it was the last sushi place on earth.

I don’t think I’ve ever given a place one star before… but that’s the price I had to pay for wanting sushi for lunch and all the decent surrounding places are closed. Fish wasn’t fresh at all, skimped(which seems to be a growing trend amongst sushi places now) and the service was extremely lacking. And the steel drums Christmas music being played made me feel like I should have been eating jerk chicken in the Caribbean. Lol. No more of this place for me.

You know a sushi place is really bad when you’ve had better pre-made rolls from Costco. It took more than 15 minutes for one order of tuna roll(tekka maki). For what little tuna there was, it was gray. The seaweed was stale and hard to chew on. There was definitely too little sauce for how much croquette they gave. It was average. The options on the menu are very limited. Their appetizers were tiny and the bento boxes aren’t much larger. When I asked the waitress how small they were, she giggled(which was the annoying part… she giggled at everything I said…). She told me that one slice of shrimp on one of the appetizers was $ 5. I hope she was kidding because she kept giggling. The bento doesn’t even come with soup, salad, or rice.

STINGYSERVICE!!! The food wasn’t bad, I thought it was pretty good, but the poor service overshadowed the food dining experience. Let me explain. We came with a family of four and were provided with chopsticks and one paper napkin each. We asked for four forks and were given two. We asked for two more forks and then given one more. Maybe that was their way of forcing us to use the chopsticks. The paper napkin is thin, only able to be used once, maybe twice. So we asked for more napkins and only given two more napkins. I hate doing this and hate it when I see other people doing this, but we ended up taking the paper napkins from the other empty tables. One more thing, we ordered the chicken teriyaki and it came with a bowl of rice. At other places, usually the bowl of rice is big and overflowing. Their bowl of rice barely filled the bowl, it was half of what other places provide. Anyways, too bad the service is so stingy because I actually liked the food. I definitely won’t come back… well, the only way I would come back is if I brought my own forks and napkins!
