I’ve been coming to Miki’s for years! I was a customer at their old location and was so happy that they moved closer to me. I love Miki’s because their fish is fresh, they give HUGE slices/portions, and it’s pretty affordable compared to other sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. They give free edamame and also they include soup and salad in a lot of their combos. I recommend: + Spicy Tuna Roll– they give so much tuna! + Sake Maki– so simple but SOGOOD + Misoyaki Seabass– so flavorful and it melts in your mouth! + Half & Half: Sake Don and Udon– thick slices of salmon over a large bowl of sushi rice and half of a yummy udon(still really big portion) + Spicy Ahi Chips– crispy fried seaweed topped with spicy tuna, super yummy! + Sashimi– always really big slices, soooo delicious Miki is an awesome place to take your family and friends and eat some delicious food :)))

The sushi was great! Though say said there are I changed to the sushi rolls they did a modification for me as I’m vegetarian. The device was ok but the food was good so we licked our fingers! Was awesome! Will absolutely come again

HALFANDHALFCOMBOOO! Definitely worth the meal for $ 11.95! And free edamame I always get the Udon and the Sake Don. I have also tried the Seafood Baked Rice the other day. Taste wise, it’s not mouth watering to the point where I am drooling. UDON: Very simple flavoring. It’s a soy sauce based soup with Udon(obviously), carrots, broccoli, one shrimp tempura, zucchini, mushroom, and fish cake. SAKEDON: Thick cuts of salmon. I believe it comes with 6 pieces and then a whole bunch of rice underneath it. It’s a pretty good portion if you are simply looking for something small and filling. SEAFOODBAKEDRICE: Typical rice plate with a creamy based white sauce on top. It’s kinda like the Hong Kong cafes where they have their baked pork chop over rice dish. Some seafood is the typical shrimp and tiny scallops. All in all, filling and affordable place to eat when you’re feeling dirt poor.

I thought the food was okay, there’s definitely better ones in Fremont. I like the half and half combo, Ramen and Sake Don. The service is alright… the servers don’t seem to communicate to each other, having a bunch of them approach after another asking if we’re ready to order… Literally 30 seconds which makes it noticeable. Then when the food is served, they have never really approach us to fill water/hot tea or ask if our good is okay. The portion is great for family. And I will be back with hope of better service?

Tried this place out with my GF since I’ve never been here before. The place isn’t too busy so we got seated immediately. They have a large menu with lots of different rolls to choose from. Thankfully they have tons of pictures which make it easier to choose. We ended up ordering the Spy vs. Spy, Hamachi Roll, and the Baked Lobster Roll. The flavor of the Spy vs. Spy was great! The sauce on top with the flakes had a distinct taste that I am unable to describe but it was yummy. The baked lobster roll was sooo good! Very rich and creamy, but every bite had a large piece of lobster which was great! Oh and the texture was amazing since they added the sliced almonds for a nice crunch to balance the thick sauce. The pricing was pretty normal of sushi restaurants but I wish the rolls were a bit bigger. Don’t get me wrong, the fish to rice ratio was good, but the rolls itself were not as filling as some other places that I have been to for the same price. Also the presentation of every roll was great too which is probably how they can justify the price for a not so filling roll.

Great deals during lunch! I generally come on weekdays and get their lunch specials and I have to say great deals! Their baked rice dishes are generally a safe bet I will have to say pass on their udon noodles very bland… It’s as if they literally just used soy sauce and water. Try their sashimi is cut fairly thick and very fresh! 5 stars on the fish! :)

I won’t return to this place. First time here. Dishes are dirty. Water glasses are dirty with stains. Waitress older lady was so rude. Couldn’t make any recommendations. Had to keep asking her for straw, sauce etc. I wanted a peanut salad but instead got a knock off thousand island dressing. didn’t enjoy my food at all. My advice avoid this place. There are so many good sushi restaurants nearby

I usually get one of their dinner combos when I come here because you get a good amount of food for and the prices are really reasonable. The last time I was here I tried their salmon teriyaki dinner with 6 piece sashimi plate. I requested to have all salmon(instead of a salmon/tuna mix) for my sashimi and they were happy to accommodate for no extra charge. The salmon teriyaki was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of sauce. The cuts of sashimi were really generous as well. All in all, definitely worth the price!

The salmon sake is delicious and melt in your mouth good. The Dragon roll is tasty with a nice tender eel on top. The Lion king roll isn’t as good, the crab meat tends to be bland and dry. The teriyaki salmon is a bit overcooked for my taste. The udon entrée portion is big, hot, and delicious. Every night there is a drink special so you almost can’t go wrong. My family has been frequenting this restaurant for years but during our last visit they tried to rush us in and out. We might go back but really we don’t like to be rushed.

I came here with my sisters for a spontaneous late lunch! The place is located in a plaza next to Raley’s. Parking lot is usually full because it’s surrounded by other stores & restaurants. Walked inside & it’s very spacious. Lots of seating & brightly lit. My sisters & I were only craving sushi so we ordered: Miki Cali roll– loved the sauces! Rolls are huge! Shrimp tempura roll– yum! Saki maki– very fresh salmon! Firecracker– wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be. But I love the sauce topping. Kinda felt like popcorn since you can pop them into your mouth! Super philly roll– had a nice surprising spice to it! Great crunch. I’m in love with this roll! The service was a bit slow, but she was very friendly. There was probably only 2 other tables she was serving. She didn’t look over much, but always came over to refill out water cup. Sushi is priced fairly for the quality. I definitely enjoyed the place!

I love the food here. 49ers and flaming rainbow roll are great. This place is my go to sushi restaurant in the bay area whenever I crave sushi. They usually serve sushi with a orchid flower beside it. However, the flower was missing this time. Don’t forget to check in to get a complementary green tea ice cream.

Harsh critic here. Subpar dinner experience and it wasn’t just me. My mom, mother in law and husband all agreed the food was just okay. They get a star for having plenty of space and parking. Also, for having a big menu with lots to choose from. Ramen, chirashi, bento, sushi and rolls. We ordered the salmon bowl, ramen, grilled Saba, Katsu chicken and some rolls(spicy tuna, dragon, uni) Nothing was memorable. Our waitress wasn’t that friendly either. Two star experience for me.

I rarely give out 1 star but this is the definition of a 1 star restaurant. I’ve never waited so long to flag down a waiter, and this didn’t just happen once but multiple times. My friend came in here around 5pm and there was a total of 3 parties and 2 waiters. Waiters were no where to be seen for ordering, getting the bill, and paying. Food was highly over priced and portions were tiny. Definitely don not recommend unless you are down to pay a lot for terrible food and service.

Solid Japanese food. Reminds me of the old ray’s sushi with large slices of sashimi, as it also appears to be Chinese owned. Tried the Godzilla roll and it was pretty good as well although had quite a bit of sauce on top of it. Check in for complimentary green tea ice cream! Nice staff with family friendly atmosphere.

I put on my monster jaw when it comes to «Miko.» Little mouths aren’t gonna haul it in as necessary, because these are big cuts of fish. Some of these fish are crazy. Mackerel, anyone? Hamachi, anyone? Toro the Tuna Belly, anyone? And let’s not forget Surf Clam?(Truth in criticism: I didn’t actually have the surf clam.) Excuse me if I offend the traditionalists out there, but I also like my sushi houses that come up with crazy concoctions. CARDIFFBYTHESEA, with dried sweet potato on top of shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and crab had some crunch going for it, but the fish taste was absent and invisible. Or maybe that’s because I was monster eating for an hour, I don’t know, okay! In all seriousness, I loved the ALOHAROLL because it fused yellowtail, tuna and wakame seaweed in a totally cowabunga way. I also liked the AVOCADOTEMPURA as a starter, and the GODZILLAROLL(slightly baked hamachi) I liked more than my wife who is fan for the non-baked sushi only. If you want to gross your wife out, by the way, go bonkers and order different variations of Unagi-Avocado style craziness all night long. #bustabutton and #green-tea-ice-cream at the end

Quality: 3 stars Service: 2.5 stars Taste: 3.5 stars I went during their down time, around 3 in the afternoon so it wasn’t too busy, there were a few customers there but it wasn’t crowded or anything like that. The waitress was really blunt and rude though in my opinion and when I was ordering, she kept looking around and I had to repeat my order to get her to write it down. I ordered a lion king and my friend ordered the chirashi The lion king was decent but I felt like the bottom was extremely mushy because they put a layer of sauce on the bottom before baking it? It was falling apart when i picked it up. The salmon was cooked nicely though, and there was the sauce baked on top was good. However my friend’s chirashi smelled super fishy. And she said it wasnt fresh at all. We didn’t end up finishing any of it and just took it to go. Very average roll place, but I probably wouldn’t come back because there are a lot of better places in the area.

My husband and I are loyal customers here and always will be. We recently decided to try Aniki Sushi because of the rave Unilocal reviews. Needless to say, we won’t be going back there again. Miki bistro still has the best prices in town! Their rolls have more crab and fish in them than anywhere else, and they don’t charge $ 15 + for a roll. Can’t beat the freshness of Miki and the great atmosphere and customer service!!! PS. Going into withdrawals from not having my honey crunch roll!

I was tempted to give a 2 but you know what… they were quite attentive in refilling my water so, let me add a star. So where did Miki go wrong? I drove to Fremont to meet up with a good friend and have some sushi. Just a warning, Miki Bistro is located in a little shopping center with Raleys and other shops but during the lunch hour, this place is crazy busy and you’re going to be circling to get a parking spot so arrive early or be ready to walk from a far spot. We were promptly seated as there were plenty of tables available. They had a set of lunch specials but me and my pal decided we’d go big and big meant Sushi Lovers and a flaming roll as a chaser. While ordering we were trying to get them to remove the avocado in the California roll as my friend is allergic to fruit. The guy just stared at me like I was speaking a completely different language. I kept saying, can you remove the avocado from the California roll? And he just couldn’t get it. We ended up giving up because well, clearly the server does not know how to customize a California roll. Well our food came and the flames were on fire! My friend and I were like taking photos and videos and when the fire died, the server(different from the person who took our order) started to unravel the foil wrapped sushi and I said«I’m excited to see what’s inside.» In retort the server said, «It’s nothing special.» Wow… kill joy. The food itself was plentiful and okay. It wasn’t drop dead, omg, I want to come back as it blew my mind. The sashimi pieces in the Sushi Lover plate was chunks vs. slices which is a pet peeve of mine. So you can see why I wanted to downgrade the stars. Perhaps next time I meet up with my friend, we’ll head to a different spot.

After trying so many amazing sushi restaurants around the area, I chanced upon a return visit to Miki Bistro one weekday. The sushi is definitely not bad, but I didn’t find it to be as fresh as I would have liked, tempura parts of the meal were lacking, and I believe prices have increased since my last visit a few years ago. The ambiance is the same, although I think they have nifty new menus that are revamped. The tea could have benefited from a little more oomph, but I still appreciated the teapot provided for a table of tea-drinkers. Salmon deluxe roll(back) and Alaska roll(front): ( ) The salmon here was decently fresh, and I enjoyed the large size of the rolls. However, as you can see from the picture, the rolls were cut up in different sizes, which is one of my personal pet peeves. They also consisted of loosely rolled rice, so loose that two pieces fell apart when I tried to pick them up. The avocado on top was also overripe so that it was mushy, which I understand is hard to control, but the presentation and texture wasn’t the best. Hamachi deluxe roll: ( ) I adore hamachi, and this roll was beautiful in presentation simplicity. The hamachi was pretty fresh albeit not the freshest I’ve had, and the roll had the same issue of falling apart when being picked up. The avocado on top of this roll was a good ripeness though, and it complemented the fish well. Kaisen futo maki: ( ) I don’t think there was a single piece of this roll that didn’t fall apart upon contact with chopsticks, which was rather frustrating. The big size is nice, but not at the expense of not being able to pick up the piece as a whole. I also wish there had been more ikura either in or on top of the roll. I could barely find any, and the taste was lost amongst the rice and other fish. Popcorn Cowfish roll: ( ) I half-ordered this roll because of its amusing name. what in the world is a «cowfish?» The tempura on top was very obviously over-battered, over-fried, and then left sitting out as the roll was made. The tempura was cold by the time it reached our table, and the too-battery, too-oily pieces were unappetizing. The presentation was quite adorable, but otherwise, this roll was not worth the asking price. Green tea tempura ice cream: ( ) I really shouldn’t complain since this was a complimentary check-in offer, but the tempura had the same issue as the Popcorn Cowfish roll. It was soggy and cold by the time it reached our table and thus not very enjoyable. The green tea ice cream was pretty good, dollop of Cool Whip on top and all. Miki Bistro seems to get positive feedback, which is great, but I hope they can continue to improve the quality of their food to better compete with sushi restaurants such as Aniki’s and Rock N Roll.
